ReV, what I’m saying is any team can benefit from a player that can find the net. This is a Premiership side, a very talented keeper, and he has 2 goals. He has composure, he has strength and power, he can use his head well, and he has a great shot. he occupies defenders, and in my book that is the most important thing a striker can do, because it often takes two opposing players out of the game.
Yes he might only ever be a bench player for us, he might only be sixth choice, but he will be a real fans’ favourite, and he might just nick some important goals for the first team one day.

Both of them blew hot and cold, Fabianski especially. he comes out to claim crosses almost every time but sometimes he gets it wrong, also his kicking was pretty bad. But he made an incredible double save, you’ll find it on youtube soon I’m pretty sure.
Djourou was solid a lot of the time, he stepped up into midfield quite a few times to challenge for the ball, he was solid, but his passing was sometimes a bit sloppy.

I’d put wilshere and ramsey a level above anyone on the pitch, and vela got a wonder goal and assist though he was quiet at times and some things didnt come off for him. Everyone else was good

Fabianski began a little nervous but grew into it as the game wore on. He made one of the saves of the season at the end.
Djourou, for me, was very very solid and composed throughout. He could have given away a penalty but other than that he was like a brick wall.

Sheffield Utd he was incredible. He was actually very good against utd, to anyone who can analyse football. If ade was playing we wouldn’t have held on. Bendtner’s final ball/shot was pretty average but his ability to hold the ball up, and drive into their half and final third is what gave the defence a rest and resulted in us holding on. Against spurs ade lost it on the halfway line everytime it went up to him which meant that there was never a let up in the pressure and we eventually gave in. Wenger described Bendtner’s performance as outstanding against Utd too

David, his holding up of the ball was absolutely amazing, better than any of our other forwards could have done, he got into the positions himself and was absolutely exhausted at the end, he could barely run. simpson was playing against wigan in the carling cup, against titus bramble, bendtner was up against ferdinand and vidic. When you grow up you’ll develop a better and deeper understanding of football, don’t worry about it
Why are we moaning ? That was a great game, it is an embarrassment of riches, we won both games, Simpson and Bentdner both played their parts in both those victories.

there are different types of striker, bendtner i doubt will ever be that prolific, but he’ll contribute more goals to the team than someone who is prolific like ade will in his all round play. wasn’t his goal to minute ratio something like 2 in every 3 games last season?!

You are however entitled to your opinion, but the way you are going about it is wrong… My opinion is that simpson, regardless of how well he played tonight will not make it at arsenal because of his lack of technical ability.. Doesnt mean he isnt a good finisher or fighter… But i cannot forsee the future and on the subject of bendtner, like any good striker he needs a run of games to find any kind of form.. The fact he plays regularly upfront for his country well should tell you all you need to know about a 20 year old, younger than simpson aswell.. The overall result is that he like 30 other members of arsenal’s 1st team and reserve squad are of exceptional talent… The problem that wont go away is the lack of trophy winning mentality and physical presense..
