Defour, sounds like somewhere in Sudan and Ade on Cesc.

by & filed under Uncategorized.

Morning Grovers! The persistent rumour about Standard Liege midfielder Defour won’t go away, I hope they are all bollocks because frankly we don’t need him, we don’t need YaYa and we don’t need Alonso, I’ve seen enough with Diaby, Ramsey, Wilshere, not to worry and we have Rosicky and Bischoff waiting as well, and not to mention with Eduardo coming back we can push someone back into midfield, no we don’t need a new midfield player.

What we do need is a centre back, we have the odd couple in Kolo and Gallas, we have Silvestre and Djourou (who he won’t play) we also have Song (I’m saying nothing) but we could do with a Terry, Ferdinand or Campbell from somewhere, a big bastard to tidy up at the back.

I’ve done the Song and Beckham stories to death, so I’ll leave that alone, but we do need a defence that the attack shouldn’t have to worry about, even Theo said we were great at going forward, but stopped short of mentioning the defence.

On Theo by the way, he’s going nowhere and we should drop the panic talk before it spreads, he’s not a Liverpool fan, his dad is, end of story, if he wanted to go to them, he would have done it instead of joining us in the first place, he’s also seen what happens to players when they leave Arsenal, he also plays in a team that plays fantasy football and Arsenal will sort him out before Christmas, so stop worrying.

Ade says Cesc is immense and every top club is always after the best players, Cesc has a contract till 2014, that means we don’t have to think about selling him for 5 years, he’ll be 26 by then, so we have a long time to wait.

So let’s not worry about losing players for a while eh?

Let’s start licking our lips at the thought of beating West Ham, Tottenham, Stoke and the Mancs on the spin, qualifying early for Europe and looking forward to Eduardo and Rosicky boosting our great side in time for the Christmas rush.

How’s that for positive? Have a great day my friends and see you on the blog!

  1. Pedro

Your comments have been good today Wrighty, I’d have zapped that Wenger Junior though… sounded like a jealous blogger to me!

  2. Franchise

As for Song I dont think Wenger believes he is the solution to either our CB or DM problems. He played in defence against Everton cos Djorou was concussed and probably wenger just chose to stick with the same back 4 against Fener rather than distort the lil understanding they would have developed in the few days they have trained and played together. I might be wrong and he might actually rate Song better than Djourou

  3. Pedro

Zapata? He couldn’t hold down a regular place for Udinese last year!

We’ll see how good he is against the Spuds tonight wont we!

  4. Franchise

‘The proven experience and ability’ might have won us zilch but players dont turn shit over night. Toure was in the back 4 that won us the league unbeaten. Gallas played in one of the meanest defences the premier league has seen and won two league titles. They are both out of sorts at the moment I think it would be unfair to blame our lack of trophies on them though.

  5. Franchise

Pedro thats why I used the phrase ‘based on what I’ve heard about him’ I think he’s tall, young, quick and strong

  6. choy

not blaming them individually.. but as a CB pairing they simply do not work.. both of them can’t win headers.. they are fast.. and gallas is getting slower..

toure has not been the same since the malaria bout!

  7. Wrighty7

    Franchise,

Gallas and Toure haven’t turned into bad players overnight. Whats the saying?

“Form is temperory, class is permanent”

The problem is they aren’t compatible. Both are better with a dominant partner, hence Kolo with Sol Campbell and Gallas with John Terry.

Johan Djourou can be that dominant man.

  8. Franchise

I agree with you Wrighty Toure and Gallas are incompatible The ‘can’ in ‘Djourou can be that man’ implies that there is also an unknown risk in pairing Djourou with either Toure or Gallas. Its funny that even last season that Senderos and Song were regarded as better options than Djourou????

  9. Franchise

Wrighty take this scenario for instance ‘You are arsenal’s manager today is the 23rd of Oct 2008, You’ve got Gallas, Toure, Djourou and Song all fit, You’ve had a patchy run in the league and you are up against ManUnited away on Saturday the 25th’ be sincere who would you pick as your CB pairing? This Q is open for all to answer

  10. Pedro

You’ve heard that Zapata is all of those things… I am saying that so is hoyte and he was a shower of shite.

The ideal partnership for me would be JD and Gallas.

  11. Wrighty7

    Franchise,

It depends on the circumstances, if the previous weeks the pairing was Toure and Gallas and they had been playing well I’d go with them. Had it been Gallas and Djourou and they were playing well then I’d go with that.

Going by form at the moment I’d pick Djourou and Gallas. I mean that too.

  12. Franchise

As for me currently I would stick with Gallas and Toure. I would give JD to convince me he’s good enough at home or probably away to Stoke, Everton

  13. kenny smith

Off topic i wouldnt mind seeign spurs getting pummeled tonight. They scrapped through against that polish team but i think udinese with be a tougher prospect tonight

  14. patthegooner

It broke on SSN about 1/2 hour ago Kenny, takes a while for them to update site. apparently Wenger broke the news at the AGM, I didn’t even realise we had the AGM today

  15. kenny smith

oh right cool im at work so cant watch SSN at the moment. Will they have any kind of coverage of the AGM on ATVO at all do you think?

  16. Rasputin

We may be faced with the dilemma soon of having too many ‘fit’ emerging players, and as a result have a problem keeping them all happy. I wonder how big Nik will feel if he moves down the pecking order when Eduardo returns. Vela too could feel hard done by if Rosicky returns to form. These are great players we do not want to lose from the squad.

‘Tinkering’ with line-ups didn’t work for pool, but since every player that takes the pitch for Arsenal is schooled in Wengerball, perhaps we could rotate players in our strong areas to maintain a happy squad. Personally (and with the gift of hindsight) I would have sold Ade and replaced him with a strong CB.

  17. Gunner8

Rasputin, so would i so would I!

Theo won’t leave us because he is not a twunt, when he left Southampton both he and his family agreed that they should be compensated for his development although he could have been signed on a free… …come on if you were Theo would you have signed a new contract last year when you were inconsistent for a slight pay raise or would you break out and sign for a massive contract this summer?

  18. Franchise

Rasputin you would be shocked how injury diminishes ur options. Its at the start of the season that there are few games but from November it gets manic i.e. if u remain in all competitions Its not any different from last season and at some point we couldn’t even put out a decent 11

  19. Rasputin

I agree G8 re Theo, but Bendtner and Vela particularly are good enough for most Prem teams and in my opinion not ‘luxury players’ like RVP. I love RVP but he is not consistent enough and I still don’t think he works well with Ade. I would probably view RVP as an impact player and start with other pairings that work up front.

kenny – unless we get several new injuries, come Xmas we will have riches in the ‘constructive midfiled/attacking departments

  20. Franchise

The simple truth guys is Arsenal would be Arsenal after all these players leave so I dont really worry about who goes and whos stays. If players see competition as a reason to move on then tough. If Ramsey keeps Cesc on the bench in a few yers time what that tells me is that either Rambo stepped up big time or that Cesc deteriorated or probably both. As a fan I want to see us win stuff I’m not too worried about the Lassana Diarra’s cos that’s life.

  21. ArsenalKenya

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger expects striker Eduardo to return from injury by mid-November.

The Croatia international suffered an horrific broken leg against Birmingham City back in February following a challenge by Martin Taylor.

Eduardo’s rehabilitation has been progressing well and Wenger has confirmed he could return to action next month.

The 25-year-old signed for the Gunners from Dynamo Zagreb in 2007 and netted 12 goals in 31 appearances before he suffered the break.

  22. Rasputin

Franchise – of course you’re right about ‘the essence’ of Arsenal, what worries me is that AW stubbornly sticks with some players that really aren’t good enough and could lose emerging talent because they don’t get a look in.

OK Wrighty re squad, but don’t forget that huge wage bill we have and the reluctance to pay some players in the squad what they would be worth to other teams (obviously not including Ade in that, where the oppoosite is true)

  23. Paulinho

Amidst all the criticism of certain players, one must not forget how poor Gael Clichy was in that first half. He played far too central and left the right side totally vacated and open to penetration.

I would like a bit of middle ground from Clichy, cause at the moment he’s either superman or a complete liability.

  24. Franchise

Rasputin our wage bill would have decreased drastically. the figures that have been in the press are from the tax year ending March 2007. Several top earners have left incl Henry, Ljunberg, Lehman etc. I bet Henry’s weekly wage then would probably be equal to what Bendtner, Ramsey, Theo, Eboue, Vela earn weekly. Also the credit crunch would eventually have an effect on players wages and transfer fees they can command.

  25. Rasputin

You’re right Franchise, but I wouldn’t mind betting that all those current players you list think that they are worth more money and although they are prepared to stick it out for the season, may look to move on if they do not get recognised on the pitch and in the wage packet.

  26. Geoff

Total staff costs are £101,302,000 and it goes from 2007 to 2008 so I guess our year equates to a football season.

I’m looking at the accounts now.

  27. Franchise

Regarding ur comments about Wenger’s favouritism for certain players I think we blow it out of proportion sometimes especially about players we loathe like Ade, Eboue etc. Ade is doing ok this season, the main problem he’s having is that our midfield hasn’t clicked yet. Fabregas only has 1 assist this season. The best I’ve seen us play this season i.e. attack wise have both been in Europe against Porto and Fenerbache. The CC performance was also good

  28. Patrick7

If we accept that Diaby is the answer to our midfield needs which is dubious on one international showing, what happens when he gets injured: we’re back to the previous midfield that has been so erratic & woeful at times.

When the ‘big boys’ come at us is he or his substitutes going to stand up and be counted or carted/carded off in panic? We’ll know soon enough with Manure.

Re.Becks, Geoff, that was a piss poor argument yesterday. Becks can’t win on his own! He ran his socks off for his country and has never flagged in his keenness to do England proud even when his teammates were a letdown for whatever reason and were crying off from games left right and centre. He has put billions of pounds into the exchequer (along with Posh with her design/fashion and ‘Spice’ etc exploits) and he’s using his knowledge of football to assist youth via his academies.

I don’t go along with some of their publicity exploits e.g. Beckingham Palace, but they’ve come from nothing to be major players with what theywere born with and like Branson should be regarded as such. Jealousy is the only reason I can see for knocking them. They’re a Great British export and still bringing in millions!

  29. Patrick7

I said yesterday that JD and Silvestre/Gallas would be our best CB pairing (height and experience) with Toure as No.3 purely due to his lack of positional sense/panic at times. Gallas only shades that though on the way he’s played since joining us. His lapses at the back are almost as bad but he has got an offensive capability i.e. goals.

JD can takeout the aerial attack whilst the other CB picks up the 2nd ball or covers another threat.

  30. Rasputin

Gunner8 – I’d love to see that starting line up too, but its not going to happen!

I think the whole Ade wage thing was a big mistake. Paying him as much as we are must make Wenger think he needs to play all the time. It also must make some other players feel undervalued and that is not good for cohesion.

I’m not sure anyone would really have paid 20 plus million for him in the summer, but it would have been good business to take it and lower the wage bill at the same time.

  31. Geoff

Patrick, he is a self publicist who stayed married for the sake of his brand, if he loved his wife for a second he wouldn’t have fucked that slapper Loos.

I’ve been to a million England games and seen greats, he’s not one of them, the last England game I went to was the Paraguay game in the world cup, the only place that cunt ran was off the pitch when the whistle went.

Running your socks off doesn’t make you a good player.

I hate him and all he stands for, which is mostly himself.

Not to mention I want to hide when he opens his inarticulate gob.

You like him all you want, but don’t tell me not to.

  32. ReVELAtion

    Glory be fellow gooner brethren….

Looking forward to sunday after reading geoff’s super enthusiastic post…

Think nikki b and Robin will start on sunday… Diaby and ade will make way… I hope it’ll be denilson though ;)

As for song, let’s just acknowledge the fact he’s shite. We aren’t getting beat or dropping points at current so let’s just put that to bed…

r.e david beckham – i don’t know what all the fuss is about… He put in a few good shifts for england in all honesty, but the whole circus that surrounds him and how he allows it to surround him are obviously very annoying… His time has come to move over, but i’d rather see him in there giving theo a bit of guidance than david cuntley… All is all beckham’s life became a joke when he married a pop star then moved t a 3rd rate club called LA Galaxy…

Still an international icon, seen by many as waving the flag for britain… He waves it for himself and he does not in any shape or form represent the majority of brits..

In accordance with “sleeping with rebbecca loos” If i was him i would… Rebecca Loo’s is a freak ;) and posh is a skinny stick that keeps her gloves on in bed… Plus the fact she’s so thin mean dave would have to be extra careful as to not break her… Where’s the fun in shagging that?

  33. Patrick7

Geoff – He’s not the best educated or sharpest but he’s brilliant at what he does which great managers like Fergie & Capello have agreed on and their minions in between. You don’t get to be captain of England otherwise.

He’s not always performed at his top level but no player does – the fact is he has tried his best which is more than can be said for most others. You don’t have to like the guy but you can’t deny his and her abilities/assetts have transformed their wealth and the country’s income as a result.

  34. Mandanda

JD and Gallas for me too.

Totally agree with your Beckham assessment Geoff, I even hated him when he was average i.e. about 5 years ago!!

  35. patthegooner

So Geoff, was there an AGM today, do you get to got to them and if so, did anyone ask why Song was still on the playing staff. Did he admit that there was a Mistake in HR some years ago and he was indeed brought in on an Exceptional talent visa, but as a Chef in Club level. The first Song knew about it was when he was asked to report to Colney and there was loads of training kit laid out for him. He did not want to cause a fuss, so went with the flow!!!! Its the only possible story I can believe for him passing himself off as a Professional Footballer.

  36. ReVELAtion

It’s called research dh16… Although as with anything in life i can’t guarentee those figures to an exact amount, nor the add on and performnce bonuses……

I’m a stick with Gallas & Kolo… Djourou and silvestre are adequete stand ins.. Song is a carling cup player and no more for me at current….

Why do all these cesc stories keep popping up… Barca, Madrid, an italian club who’s offer “was very interesting from a financial perspective”…. It’s happening all over again!!!

    Anelka
    Vieira
    Henry
    Hleb

    *freaks out* lol

  37. Patrick7

Hope GMR puts in an appearance on this important day!?

Steve ‘the Umbrella/Dutch’ man tried to make Becks the scapegoat for our dismal performances but even he had to bring back Becks to get some positive results. Capello appreciates his qualities both on the field and as a figurehead to the youngsters for his dedication IMO. Until Bentley who today admits he’s shit and Wright-Phillips/Theo can play 90′ and gain consistency at that level he’ll be useful still.

  38. Franchise

Rasputin I’ve got some numbers for you regarding our wage bill from 2006 – 2008. geoff the year ends 31st of May which is the end of the season.

    2008, 2007, 2006
    Playing staff: 54, 52, 49
    Training staff: 31, 31, 32
    Administrative staff: 197, 206, 190
    Ground staff: 97, 85, 41
    Total: 379, 374, 312

In addition the Group employs on average 902 temporary staff on match days (2007 – 879).

    Staff costs:
    Wages and salaries: £88,258,000 £77,650,000 £68,929,000
    Social security costs: £10,238,000 £9,501’000 £7.382,000
    Other pension costs: £2,806,000 £ 2,552,000 £6,654,000
    Total: £101,302,000 £89,703,000 £82,965,000

What does that tell me that our players our well paid?

I was wrong our wages have increased post Henry, Ljunberg but it would only increase in line with our turnover which has also increased. Thats why wenger uses the word wage structure a lot

  39. DH16

lol, Revelation. i wasn’t been funny or anything i was just genuinly interested in what players earn. We all know how much the big players get at the big clubs but i often wonder about players such as say Eboue or Almunia

  40. kelsey

I don’t know about Adebayor’s case, but a lot of the overseas players get paid offshore, therefore being exempt from tax in the UK.I mentioned before in Spain they have what is commonly known as “The Beckham” whereby if an overseas player remains for 3/5 years playing continuosely in Spain, they pay a flat rate of 100000euros tax per year.

  41. ReVELAtion

eboue is on a reported 35k and almunia about 38k… No one in the 1st team squad with the exception of ramsey, wilshire, vela, song, djourou, gibbs & fabianski are on less than 30k

  42. avenell

Why not play Gallas/Toure at the back and put Djourou in at DM, Then keep Diaby in the hole like on Tuesday? Even though we played 4-5-1 it was far from defensive and this way we have defensive cover and loads more hieght in the side for defending corners..

  43. ReVELAtion

avenell did you djourou’s performances there for birmingham? Wenger’s mental state has been called into question this season, but if Djourou plays in front of the back 4 for arsenal outside the carling cup, i will officially be calling him the le mad professor…

  44. DH16

True Djorou is a very good centre back but nothing else. Just like Eboue is a useful right back, nothing else. Theres no need for people to be playing out of position. I would rather see players liek Coquelin play there before Johan. Even though i must add Coquelin is maybe three years of being in the first team.

  45. Franchise

A lot of these figures our just estimated I dont always believe in them. Im hardly scared of loosing our players to other premiership clubs cos its so obvious that they are well paid. Only Mancs and Chelsea (keep an eye on Man City) pay more. I read the other day that Yobo was on around 19k a week. Thats Everton 1st choice CB

  46. ReVELAtion

kelsey it’s good business… If it’s about 50-58% the business is doing a good job… The fact we have no one on astronomical wages ala campbell & campbell means the squad parity is in good sync as the wage structure represents it’s the team earns if they win and not a particular individual or a group of individuals…

The captain should rightly be the highest paid player…

Regardless of reports of us “failing to play top dollar” I think some pundits and footballers fail to realise is that an extra 10k a week to them is like an extra pound on a working class persons wages… Some have quite rightly lost touch with reality with normal day to day people, blame the money in the game or the players?… A bit of both if you ask me….

  47. avenell

Reva. I cannot remember seeing him play midfield for Birmingham, but I saw him at CH a few times.
He played there Tuesday when he came on and on Arse, com he stated he would like to play there in the summer.

  48. timao

Song has been better though. One thing, going from memory, he did last season was basically set up an away win against Everton when it looked like we were being held. Eduardo’s first prem goal as well I think. And he was in the team of the tournament from the last ANC. He can’t have just turned shit for no reason. And even when he was being sent of to Charlton, Wenger said he had a future as an Arsenal Centre-Back. He has never really been in the frame for a midfield role. (Or I might be completely Bilong about all of the above and he really is just rubbish.)

  49. ReVELAtion

he played the majority of games there for birmingham before getting injured… In short, he was woeful.. Wenger would not start him there unless it was an emergency..

He might like to play there, but for arsenal, in a first team game from the off? No chance…

  50. Franchise

HE’S NOT GOOD ENOUGH AS A RESRVE FOR AN ARSENAL TEAM THAT WISHES TO END THREE YEARS WITHOUT A TROPHY, FOUR YEARS SINCE WE LAST WON THE LEAGUE AND HAVE NEVER WON THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE PERIOD

  51. ReVELAtion

timao, in accordance with “he can’t just have turned shit” Just ask Jose Reyes….

He is rubbish, but maybe he’ll prove us all wrong and be a mainstay of an arsene wenger side… Jury’s out though at the moment and won’t be returning anytime soon…

  52. Pedro

Well, it’s official… we’ve found our new Senderos.

A player clearly not good enough for the highest level… but still has a huge fan club.

The thing with Senderos is at least you could see he was a defender at heart… you can’t see that with Song.

Song doesn’t have any redeeming qualities… bar playing well in a 2 bit tournament in Africa that nobody watched…

  53. Geoff

Patrick, you are sadly mistaken if you think that manc prick has transformed our nations wealth.

Fucking ada what are you reading hello magazine? If he was worth jack shit then red nose would have kept him instead of hitting with a hairdryer.

You mate are believing in his PR machine, he’s a greedy dopey cunt and it’s time he fucked off.

If you like him so much go and join his fan club.

    Nice one Pat! Chef!

  54. Pedro

Oh right, the competition Egypt won?

How many famous Egyptian footballers are there in world football?

    1… Zaki.

Says a lot about the standard doesn’t it?

  55. Geoff

At least Senderos didn’t look like he was on drugs, I’d swap one Senderos for 11 Songs and a boat load of Beckhams.

  56. Geoff

Yeah and Beckham would be shit in that as well, unless of course he could get another cap out of it.

Did I mention I was on the Gatwick Express?

  57. ReVELAtion

Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas has revealed he was approached by an Italian club over the summer.

The Gunners schemer is one of Europe’s brightest talents after enjoying a dramatic rise since joining the North London club from Barcelona in 2003.

Primera Division giants Barca have made no secret of their desire to one day recapture his signature, while Serie A outfit AC Milan are also believed to be admirers of his quality.

Fabregas, who recently confirmed his commitment to the Emirates Stadium club, explained he received a big-money offer from abroad during the previous transfer window but a move failed to materialise.

“Yes, it’s true. I did have offers from an Italian side which were interesting from an economical point of view,” Fabregas told Sport.es.

“However, nothing really happened after that.”

Reports claim Milan could attempt to lure Fabregas to the San Siro again in the future, however Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is highly unlikely to allow his star man to leave without a fight.

This continous media poisoning campaign of arsenal’s best players isn’t going to stop…. Did the sun, mirror, star, skysports, goal.com and tribalfootball.com draw up a “destroy arrsenal by any means neccessary” treaty?

  58. Geoff

It’s simple to argue, he’s not for sale, he’s got a contract.

Like I said before, the day Anelka walked away from his contract Wenger opened the floodgates, it’s his own fault.

    Him and Beckham’s.

  59. Pedro

You can buy a video package called ” spurs, the glory years ” from most shops.
That’s £5 for the video and £195 for the betamax player.

David Bentley was at training and tells Juande Ramos that he is unwell, so Ramos offers to do his shopping for him.
In Sainsburys he bumps into Arsene Wenger, who asks him ” what are you doing in here.”
” I am getting some potatoes for David Bentley ” he says.
” Sounds like a fair swap if you ask me. ” he replies

  60. Franchise

I think geoff is tired of debating and arguing about Song so the more the topic comes up the more he’s opinion about Songe changes to hatred of Song. Its like arguing constantly that a naked person (gay or not) with a penis is not a man

  61. Franchise

Its too peaceful here sm1 should start a controversial debate that does not involve Becks or Song or Eboue or Denilson or Adebayor or Defensive Midfield

  62. Franchise

Pedro Helder would be a good addition to our attacking options. His experience would be invaluable. We would do the double confirmed I think Nasri is not yet ready and Walcott is not fast enough

  63. Franchise

I think Pat Rice should be our new boss and Wenger he’s assistant. Cos currently everything Wenger says Pat agrees as a ‘Yes Man’ however, if it were the other way then Wenger would object when Pat is wrong and the team would be unstoppable. Just like Fergie and Queiroz

  64. patthegooner

I read that Pedro, and to be honest it pisses me off, any fans reaction in based upon what they see on and off the field and I think he actually needs to look at himself and within the club to change the fact. Maybe we are just all sick and tired of paying through the nose with no end result. I know the Football is great to watch, but we want success as well, and to see World Class Players at the Emirates and not just in the Away Dressing room. And lets face it, the performances to date this season are probably 50/50 beautiful and dire.

Wrighty, i hope it does not happen but that question will surely have to be asked.

  65. BOY BETTER KNOW

its wengers fault the fans are complaining prehaps he should start buying some experiance instead of this inconsistant team it is all of his own doin i would of loved to be at that meeting to put him straight no one else does in that club.fucking cheek of the man

  66. kenny smith

i think what wenger probably means is in comparison to others…. if u look at teams like fenerbache with their “hostile atmosphere” they were still singing like fuck after they were 2-0 down against us.

  67. Wrighty7

FUCK ME! The fans aint supportive enough???!!!

Wengers needs to pull his head outta his arse. I think we’ve been more than supportive since he began his “YOUTH EXPERIMENT”

Would Chelsea, Manchester United or Liverpool fans be this patient or supportive? NO.

Look at the Spuds, a few bad results and they all want their manager out, we aint like that and Wenger needs to remember that. Cheeky git.

Nice one Pedro, that was controversial. Good topic.

  68. kenny smith

i dont agree with trying to intimidate the away team by shouting as loud as u can for 90 minutes. If you do that you dont really have time to focus on whats actually happening and who is palying well.

  69. kenny smith

and i think we should wait before we actually get to see what wenger said in the AGM rather than listening to tabloids

  70. Gunner8

Kenny Smith… …no they were not, I was there they were dead quiet until they scored then they became loud again.

Watching on television doen’t even come close to the real atmosphere, I watched the game last night and was amazed, it was if ITV had the volume at 10%

I have never experienced anything like the sound of the first 10 minutes of that game…

So what does Wenger expect, we go to all the games, we write and go on sites like these, we buy all their shitty merchandise, we subscribe to Arsenal TV, we buy no one with the money we spend, we win fuck all and we are don’t support our team enough? What a complete wanker!

He has said himself a million times that a team can only be considered great when they win the European cup, yet he’s been at Arsenal for 12 years and has never won it, how does he expect to if he spends no fucking money, boy what a moron.

If he wants to see unsupportive fans he should go to Newcastle, where the owner fears for his life and the stadium is half empty, or West Ham, the tosser.

Have you noticed how the TV does that, im sure they alter the volume. It pisses me off how they make Anfield sound so bloody loud! Ive been there for the last 3/4 games and its not all that

Fenerbahce is not a poor area, Istanbul is quite a nice place but the southeast of Turkey is suposed to be dire.

I love it and have been there 4 times in 12 months the people are great and really pasionate about their footie… …I don’t know if I mentioned it yesterday but the leeds fans were murdered because of something else than footie.

Moving to a new stadium with no real ends, like the Stretford End or the Kop hasn’t helped.
All the people who created the atmosphere have been dispersed around the stadium.

    Bring back limited terraces…

Pedro I actually thought along that line. clubs like arsenal and chelsea are supported by mostly middle class ppl and theres no way they could make their respective home grounds like fenerbahce. The kind of ppl that could sustain that level of support cant afford to buy tickets. Sometimes especially in Italy where u can see a game for 7euro it escalates into violence. Its the same in South America

Aparently the leeds fans while intoxicated exposed thier cock to a turkish family in the main square (inclusing an 8 year old girl).

The father lead the family quitly away and came back and stabed them to death, the Turks mentioned that’s why he is inside for 15 years… …if he would have killed them on the spot it would have been less.

Also the man was not even a footie fan!

That is what the Turks say anyway…

My uncle was in the bar next door when that happened Gunner8.

One of my friends wrote something on it… he reckoned a lot of it was to do with the news channels. Apparently there are 80 free channels in turkey, so the news guys have to be creative to get the viewers… this one went wrong… or so the story goes!

Gunner8 not true, my brother was outside the bar he said the police were there when the cunts went in stabbing and turned a blind eye when they ran out, he said they didn’t stand a chance and the police did fuck all, sounds like what I would expect to be honest.
