We make money, lots of it, why?

by & filed under Uncategorized.

Well two reasons really, we don’t spend any and we pay shed loads to watch, so please don’t tell us how clever you are Arsenal, it’s not rocket science is it.

Well today is a big test to see what this team is made of, whilst Bolton aren’t the team of bullies they used to be under the fat slug Allardyce, they still put it about some, so we’ll need to be at our best to beat them.

This would be a great game to play Djourou or maybe Sylvestre, Rosicky, Diaby, Nasri and Bishcoff, oops, sorry, we can’t can we because the truth is, they don’t exist, they were all made up by Arsene Wenger to make us believe we signed someone, good ploy Arsene, but I think I’ve finally sussed you out.

Another stupid time to be playing football 5.30, and it coincides with the Ryder cup, but having said that, the cup is going so badly, I for one could do with a diversion.

I’m thinking 3-1 to us today with Muamba to show us why we shouldn’t have sold him, I always rated that kid and I think we should have kept him, at least he’s not always injured.

Well done Arsenal for making all that money, but as you don’t pay dividends, why?

Have a great Saturday Grovers, and Arsenal and European double today I feel.

100% agree… ive already said it 3 times now, its been ade’s best game (this is the 4th time :) )
he played like a player worthy of the arsenal shirt tonight ! passing well , keeping possession ..
    only 1 or 2 off sides ! a team player ..

i still would of preferred to see RVP in for 90 minutes … but it seems ade is our plan A !
    not plan B !

  2. hounddog

Ethangunner. You need to have a little re think by the way. As a striker you don’t have to be on the score sheet every week it won’t happen! You need a reality check there.

  3. finestcuts

Top of the table tonight peeps, enjoy it, it could have been a very different story as we saw at the beginning of the game, the quick response was great and Walcott has reached the next level, after years of promis he’s coming good.

All I wanted was 3 points against Bolton, we got much much more.

I thought Sagna did well on the left, Denilson is the midfielder of the moment, I don’t think we could have got a better one off the market.

Hopefully nothing majorly wrong with Clichy, Carling cup action midweek giving our first team players a chance to recover, lets hope Manyoo can keep their promise and finish Chel$ki’s run at Stamford Bridge circus.

  4. ethangunner

    get a grip hounddog !

the guy cant shoot to save his ball bags !
    week in week out !

im sure if you counted the goals he scored this year (since january )Vs minutes on the pitch its a fucking poor ratio ! ( too poor to be arsenals main striker !!! ) look thru history !
and yes if your not scoring you should bring other things to the table !

not a poor 1st touch and offsides galore !! it ruins arsenals passing game ! it interrupts our
game flow ! , he is not a clinical finisher and you are blind as a bat !!!

  5. ethangunner

    finest
    i agree with you there,
tomorrow lets get behind ronaldo and berba !
hope they steal all the points and that will keep us on top !

if we are smart and win ALL easy games it can be done !

  6. rico01

Who said it was ADE ;)

    SSN’s

But it was Bolton who took the lead in the 14th minute as Kevin Davies climbed above Kolo Toure to head in a Joey O’Brien corner after Gael Clichy had abandoned the far post.

  7. Gooner07

    finest,

that’s right. Walcott is a man fully confident of his skills, and technique, and doesn’t shy away from going all guns blazing. I’m glad to be proved wrong about him. That said, it’s a bit too short to say he has come of age, he has a lot to prove. I’m still waiting to be proved wrong.

  8. ethangunner

ade had a goal tally of 19 at Christmas ! and finished with 24 EPL goals !

from december to may he added 5 goals !
    and this season 3 or 4 !

thats 8/9 goals in about 30 games !!!
hounddog if you think that’s great keep dreaming !
but most only need a set of eyes to see it !

  9. Truth

I thought Denilson was superb today. After going a goal down, for a 10 minute period the Arsenal’s play was spellbinding to watch and clinical in execution. Once in the lead the team just seem to ease off. We’ve come through a tough 8 day period with the only downside being Clichy’s injury. Let’s hope its not too serious.

  10. ethangunner

    Anyway enough sledging ade !
because he did well for this isolated game ! :)

and for once deserves credit !!!!!!!
as ever i compare apples to apples !
and this week ade did well !

  11. rico01

ethan – i see where you are coming from about Ade, but if he gets 50 assists, and scores 10, but we win the league, would you be happy…. ;)

His work rate at the moment is immense, give him until the end of Oct, then trust me, I will be on your side, but right now ….? :)

  12. hounddog

Ethangunner. I don’t like your your tone, grow up! As I have already stated you have your opinion I have mine. If you don’t like Ade then fine. I do. So move on.

  13. ethangunner

    yes rico !

unlikely ! but if it did happen , i concur !

being consistent can win us the league !
once your in front you just beat every easy team !
and dont take your eye off the prize !

wenger can stay ahead of the pack if he doesn’t start to lose focus
(which you know he will,as he wears C.L goggles ! )

theo and denilson are coming good like i predicted !
but i would of liked to see RVP into the mix tonight
to get some easy goals under his belt !

wengers inability to play around with the front line to get it right
and continually play ade and bends together will be his down fall !

we need to see theo and RVP
    or Bends and Vela
    RVP and vela
    RVP and bends !

until we get it right !
i spose you can try ade too …

    :P

  14. ethangunner

    hound dog !

i dont like your tone son !
you tell me to move on at 8:12 pm then 3 minutes later you start again ! you fucking grow up !

  15. kelsey

considering cesc is nowhere like his old self, others are stepping up ,which is a positive, and as far as i am concerned it actualyy is far more beneficial if the goals come from all over the park than being heavily reliant on one player.

by the way where is pedro and geoff

  16. eltel08

I am so happy about beating these pie eating cunts but I as usual have some negatives.

I see people are getting excited about our keeper and even saying he was MOM, I can’t believe no one saw the indicisve moments he gives to the defence.

He makes his mind up a bit to late nearly all the time. He dropped the ball for the corner that they scored from, yes he was fouled but he dropped it before contact was made. He flapped about at the corner and again didn’t shout at his defence. He made Nolans long ranger which was straight at him look world class and later on caught the ball at full stretch another TV save. He tipped one over and really knew nothing about it but it looked like a good save.He saved all the shots he is supposed to save and nothing more. There was an header that went wide and our keeper dived as the ball was coming back to him from the advertising boards. So far this season he has had very little to deal with so lets keep it that way.

Next up is Kolo Toure, the Gallas hating pundits on Setanta blamed Willie for moving away but unless he knocked Kolo over he wasn’t responsible for being beaten in the air by that duck arsed cunt Davies. Kolo made a great recovering tackle and thats what he is good at recovering his mistakes. Good player but no CB.

The midfield tired early in the second half but apart from the MOM and Kolo the team did really well.

I don’t watch any football except the Arsenal over the past 2 years because in this country it is accepted that lesser teams can even things up with their near rugby tactics.

The Arsenal hating pundits even openly say that teams should get at us and one said there should be more of the Davies type tackles for the pie eaters in the 2nd half.

It would be far better to have more Jamie Redknapp type pundits who like to watch skill and technique rather than the Northern butchers who run the League. Cesc’s comments today say what I have wanted to hear for ages. The fact that we expect a kicking in the land of Fergie.

As most of the Country are watching and listening to these pricks the young believe that this is the way forward.

I can’t watch Engerland for this same reason plus the over rated cunts the Manager chooses.

Lets hope the two so called giants draw tomorrow so our weekends will be complete.

    Up the Arse.

  17. kelsey

I am no stats man but when did we last win 2 consecutive away games up north sandwiched with a draw in the Ukraine, top of the league and within an hour we have name calling and in house fighting. Please guys rejoice :)

  18. eltel08

Djoroue looked quality when he came on but why did Sagna go LB ? It would have been better to see Gallas go LB and JD in the middle. But we won anyway so Wenger got it right.

  19. david

We was all over Bolton until Clichy went off and changing both full backs, and having no proper wingers let them back into the game.
Then theo came on and we had a outlet and a third goal, we was lucky, normally one more dodgy decision and we would have had a draw like we got a few times away last year.
Vela should have been given a go to give us some width..

  20. eltel08

    Absolutely spot on David.

Earlier comments saying Cesc has started poorly are off the mark for me, I just think he is adjusting to doing the Flamsters job as Dennilson seems to be doing Cescs old job.

ARSENAL legend Paul Merson has launched a scathing attack on the Gunners’ bitter rivals Spurs after labelling them a “shambles”.

Under Spanish coach Juande Ramos Tottenham have made their worst league start in 34 years, with just one point from their opening four Premier League games.

And Merson, who played in the red half of north London for 12 years of his distinguished career, believes they have even gone backwards since sacking predecessor Martin Jol.

In his Daily Star column, Merson writes: “You have to laugh at what is happening at White Hart Lane. I’m not being horrible but it is a bit of a shambles down there.

“In the space of 11 months they have sacked the manager who got them to within a dodgy lasagne of taking them into the Champions League and sold their three best players.

“That manager Martin Jol currently sits proudly at the top of the Bundesliga with Hamburg.

“And you can bet Jermaine Defoe, Dimitar Berbatov and Robbie Keane will come back to haunt Tottenham.

“Defoe can’t stop scoring at Portsmouth, everybody knows what a class player Berbatov is and you can be sure Keane will come good at Liverpool once he gets that first goal and his confidence comes back.

“Yet Spurs sold their prize trio of cracking forwards. Okay they picked up nearly £60million for them, but at what cost?

“Right now, with them propping up the Premier League and in danger of going out of the Uefa Cup, it is hardly looking good business.

“They’ve bought Roman Pavlychenko for £13.8million but you can bet he wont settle as quickly as snow.

“Russia isn’t just up the road from north London and he’s joined a side struggling, not beating everyone out of sight.

“Compare them to Arsenal. When they sell players, how many of them go onto better things?

You don’t hear too many Gunners fans moan that they wished they’d not let someone go.

“Spurs have only themselves to blame for the state they are in because they are forever changing managers.

“They have had seven – as well as caretakers David Pleat and Clive Allen in the time Arsene Wenger has been at Arsenal.

“And every new man that comes in wants to change the players around because he probably doesn’t rate them or wants to start his own team.

“This keeps happening over and over again at Tottenham and it has been like that for God knows how long.

“Each time the new man comes in he has to start all over again and they keep on falling behind.

Granted they have brought in some talented players. But looking at Luka Modric, I really don’t think he’s a central midfielder.

“He just looks like he will always be bullied and dictated to and that is what’s happened in most games.

“He is a free spirit and Juande Ramos should just tell him to go out and play behind the strikers and do what he wants. You can’t ask hime to play box-to-box.

“Ramos played him against Aston Villa and asked him to go box-to-box – but he is not that sort of player. Yet he left Jermaine Jenas, who can play that role all day long, on the bench. I just don’t get it.

“No-one has really pointed a finger at Ramos yet, largely because of that Carling Cup win.

“But he faces a tough game at home to Wigan tomorrow. Look at what Steve Bruce’s boys did – winning 5-0 at Hull.

“And they also have a really tough second leg in the Uefa Cup with that trip to Wisla Krakow, who beat Barcelona in Poland in their Champions League qualifier.

“Lose those two and Ramos might well be under pressure. But surely Tottenham won’t think of changing managers again.

“But I think they will if he doesn’t pull them around after a couple more seasons, and the same old process will start with the new boss changing everything round once more.

“If he doesn’t get it right, it will be all change again three years later.

“A final point about Spurs. I wonder how many of their supporters now look back on my old gaffer George Graham and his time at the club and think that maybe he wasn’t so bad after all?”

    Couldn’t resist posting this.

  22. charybdis1966

That’s priceless stuff from the Merse, Kelsey.

A Goon through and through, – compare that to what has hapenned to Ian Wright, he can’t wait to stick the knife into us on Talkshite, egged on by the ginger minger A Durham

  23. charybdis1966

A draw tomorrow at the new paupers of the Premier leagues place would round off a perfect footballing weekend Finest.

Only 5 games in I know but us top and the Spuds at the bottom – what could be better ? :)

  24. patthegooner

I am just looking at that Clichy Tackle with tinted goggles? I personally think it was recklass and deserved a Red

i am sure I just saw both Lawrenson and Shearer both say there was nothing wrong with it on MOTD

    Fucking cocks

  25. Paul88

    Hi,

Long time reader first time contributor. (I’ve submitted a couple of comments before actually).

Mark Lawrenson is a cunt. I wonder if his assessment would have been the same if that thug had of gone straight through stevie (MBE) Gerrard? Wanker.

At least Lineker and hanson aren’t on duty tonight

  26. maqitlarge

Its allowed because it was by a burly englishman on a “jessie” little frenchman.
Diaby (French) was sent of for a very similar tackle on (I think) Nicky Hunt (English) last season.
Whatever though, we won both games

  27. david

Alan (Newcastle are in a shambles but I cannot be fucked to help them, but I can stick a knife in the backs of the people trying to sort the problem out)
    Shearer.

That Robbie Keane looks good ;)

  28. Seb

So 7 points from 9 on our travels this week – pretty damn good if you ask me.

ethan – must delve a bit deeper into your assertion that you predicted Theo and Denilson would come good – I seem to recall you saying that without Cesc our midfield would be fucked basically? And yet we may as well not have played Cesc in the last few games he has been so out of sorts, and we seem to be doing okay…. any thoughts? Or are you still expecting us to come unstuck in November?

  29. ethangunner

    rico

no need to bang my head with hounddog’s , because yet again ! im am persecuted for having an opinion !and i have to AGAIN receive one too ! , obviously !

  30. ethangunner

    seb

i still expect us to come unstuck in November sure !
its a tough ask for us to play chelski and Man U !
and cesc didnt play well , but bolton looked an inferior side ! not without chances , but inferior ,
they still scored 1st !!! eboues goal was off side ! bendtners goal was class ! that was really 1-1 ! and the winning goal was in the 86 minute , if you want to keep it honest ! And keep it real!
but i dont hear anyone making excuses for eboues goal ! its surprising we accept the linesman -refs decisions if they go our way ! but complain like little girls if we suffer an injustice !
but its ok you saying how great we played , but think of the opposition ! Bolton look weak since anelka left !Everyone tipped an arsenal win ! so think of the reasons behind why it looks like a cake walk after 2-3 years of struggling there at the reebok ! no stellios either , he always was a thorn in our side !

Like i said start patting yourself on the back after we get a full 6 points from those 2 outings in november ..
but you didnt answer my question !!!you want to bet on Arsenal taking all six points ?

i already know your answer !
    keep it real !

I also never said we would get relegated ! but fixtures again are favorable for us !
1st test is in November and maybe spurs prior to that !
we have 3 months of easy fixtures .. and like i said after the game , if wenger is smart and keeps
winning his easy games by fielding a full strength side even against the weaker teams he can amass a lead by collecting enough points to ensure we can stay on top til Christmas !

but i know thru squad depth and injuries he will try and cut corners and drop points along the way !

Keep it real and deal with the facts !

  31. ethangunner

    seb .. part II :)

as for our midfield being fucked ! it is compared with last season !
we need far more support from our defenders .. and whilst wenger refuses to play theo every week
it wont change , eboue is getting better ! but he is hardly hleb like ! and ade isnt even getting a 3rd of the chances he used to get from te spice boys( and fuck them up ) !
the midfield is not producing the goods but whilst we are winning against lesser sides all is well right ? !

  32. ethangunner

    September 20, 2008 at 9:16 am

Ethan, shite to average bagged us 30 goals last year.

Sorry for the late response :)
or early the next day :)

but if you remember it was 24 goals in the EPL !
2x hat tricks against pure crap teams .. 2 against a sunderland that looked just as crap last season .. 4 odd penalties .. no clutch goals when they counted !

but the real facts i want to focus on is at December
ronaldo and ade where both 19 goals a piece ! since that time from December to may
he scored 5 more goals ! and 3 this season in the EPL !

so how many games has he played for his 8 goals for 2008 ??????????
and more importantly for his 80-90 k a week pay rise ?!

    i rest my case

there are far more talented options out there and those options would turn this team from
    great into unstoppable !

  33. ReVELAtion

ethan you do an’ half like a whinge…

Take each game as it comes… 3 points, 7 in 3 games, conceded 2… Without key players…

There is no Easy game in the premiership wiith all the money in it now… Hull or any other inferior team (like stoke today against the bindippers) on their day beat or, at the very least, get a result man u, arsenal, liverpool and chelsea…

We’re top 5 games in and everything at current is going well, enjoy it, enjoy the sunday papers, enjoy the weather (if u live in london.. Happyy days)…

    You might die 2morrow….

no, i am terminally ill ;)

  34. ethangunner

i dont consider dealing with facts having a whinge !
we have heard this talk like , ‘we are the greatest’ for 4 seasons now ..
id like to keep it real and take each game as it comes… yes !
but others think we are finally the dog bollocks again !

i think its all a lot of hopeful optimistic talk , which is just setting us up for the fall !
id rather keep it real and monitor the games from week to week ! i agree !
and as yet we haven’t beaten Liverpool – man U or chevski at home .. so excuse me if i want to reserve all judgment and not talk frivolously about how big our balls are until we beat someone
    of some consequence

  35. Seb

Fair enough ethan, we wll ‘keep it real’ until November, when I reckon we will get 4 from 6, 3 home and 1 away.

I was really just surprised how optimistic your posts had been earlier today, not your usual self :P but far be it from me to haul you back into the darkness of doom!

  36. Gooner07

    Ethan,

That offside goal of Eboue is really very rare compared to several poor decisions that cost us last season. Our fans don’t complain like little girls when we suffer, it is very much to vindicate the ref’s negativity towards us over and over again.

And to say that offside goal would mean we would have just been 1-1 is hardly ‘keep it real’. One could even say Bolton could have won 2-0 or 3-1 considering how lady luck flaunted before that offside goal. Adebayor’s shot hit the inside of the post, and didn’t go in. Song’s header from the corner to the post. We were all over them after conceding. We were more likely to score. Because the team looked determined to score again when we leveled. That was again impressive.

  37. kenny smith

i just finished wacthing td this morning….. that scouse r oving twat Lawro is really beginning to get on my tits. he pointed out all to quick that eboue’s goal was offside but when it came to the liverpool game they put the imaginary line up and Gerrard is offside! hes just offside and no more but he is still offside! And lawro is moaning that the ref chopped the goal off not the linesman but couldnt see how the ref could of been sure becuase he was miles away! so lawro thinks the goal shud have stood even though the ref made the correct decision! im sorry but i thought these guys were supposed to take a neutral view? cunts!!! the BBC shud rreview Lawro’s contract!
