Shock CEO link…

by & filed under Uncategorized.

Morning Grovers!

Geoff is away at a golf day, so I thought I’d tell you an interesting story.

A couple of days ago Geoff and I were discussing the vacant CEO role at Arsenal. Out of the blue, Geoff said that he was a bit worried that Keith Wyness was going to pop up at Arsenal as the new Chief Exec. Keith is an old business associate of Geoff and I don’t mean they met once, they know each other very well.

So today, I opened up the Sky Sports website to read:

Wyness leaves Everton

I was shocked! Geoff had no insider knowledge about this, just a gut feel that Keith is the type of guy who could pull something like this off. Sky Sports are saying he is looking to take up a position at Real Mallorca… Now, I don’t know anything about the man, bar he is ambitious. Would Real Mallorca not be a bit of a step down at this stage in his career?

Who knows, all I’ll say Grovers is watch this space!

imagine fabregas, rvp, nasri, rosicky, vela all being on the pitch at the same time. add wilshire to that now.

  2. SFO Gooner

    rico,

have you changed your mind on nikki b yet?. I think he is doing fine and will be better this year.

  3. dennisdamenace

Does anyone else think that Sir Alf plays in a similar style to Paul Scholes?? Just keeping things ticking over, always in the right place, always available……..

  4. rico01

I cant see AW keeping him back, JW i mean – he will play him – Rooney was 16 when he burst on the scene, JW needs that chance

  5. Odub

    Pigging wi-fi went!!

What great goals from the reserve team!!

Fuck Ade, play Nicky Bendts next season I say, and please stop telling us to be patient with young jack wilshere….. the boy is a legend in the making!!

WITH HIM IN THE SIDE WE’LL WIN THE WORLD CUP, RYDER CUP, WORLD SERIES AND WRESTLEMANIA!! :)

  6. SFO Gooner

Using C**t after a long rant about something is fine. But just in a song is disrespectful to the manager.

It is just my opinion. People sing worse stuff.

  7. rico01

SFO – not yet, but I am open minded ;)

dennis, SA looks good, real good….
    wilshere – …… speechlesssssss
    vela ,,,,,,,, speechlesssssss
    barazite…. talent beyond
    simpson ……prospect
    randall…… reluctant prospect
    lansbury///reluctant prospect

Oh and BISCHOFF>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> oh, ok ;)

Just one player like Veloso, and we are looking good

Veloso and a CH, we are really strong

    Add Villa…………. YYYYYIIIIIIIIIIIIPPPPPPPPPPPPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

  8. dennisdamenace

Odub – You’re forgetting The Wheel Tappers and Shunters invitational shove h’apenny southern area trophy!

  9. Gelbs

I had to put something in otherwise page wouldn’t load to comment. I don’t have a website. Just put any old shit in. “egg@winkie.com”

  10. Odub

That too DDM! what a player!

The 2nd choice attack sure has done better than Ade no touch, RVP was unlucky not to score though.

  11. rico01

    Geoff – i have and i did

Gelbs – please excuse me, i am old and i dont have my specs on, guess i am guilty of reading between the lines

  12. raif

    Gelbs

so Wank.com was the best site u could find to put there?

why couldnt you put somthing a little Less Seedy then a Porn Site.
come on man have a little respect.

  13. Odub

boats sailed for young justin i’m afraid, i doubt he’ll be around for the start of the season. unless Eboue (shudder!) becomes our regular DM and JH becomes cover for Bac

  14. dennisdamenace

rico – Agreed, but i think his brother hasn’t improved enough, and has been around the first team squad long enough now, and he needs to move on, otherwise, and to quote AW, he will stifle the younger talent coming through…………

  15. rico01

    Much better, i am a lot happier…..

Leave you boys to chew the cudd……. ;)

Nite all – roll on the weekend :)

  16. Odub

Well that was enjoyable, still doesnt mask the lack of quality in the DM position, and where was swiss phil?

  17. finestcuts

3-1 against Stuttgart, shame we still haven’t kicked the habit of conceding the first goal, but an impressive and respectable second half against venerable opponents, an away win as well don’t forget!

  18. rico01

dennis – i agree, and it saddens me to see the stand still that Justin has come to, he is a great lad, loves our club.. if anyone deserves a career at THOF its him, but sadly he just has not pushed on – Gavin though may surprise us :)

  19. finestcuts

Gelbs go and have a tommy tank and chill out with your dodgy links….we just won 3-1….and you’ll still have something miserable to say….while you’re at at put your false teeth back in.

  20. insidealbania

Without over hyping things, I am feeling much better than I did in the morning. So it has been a positive night, I think Denilson is cover for Cesc, so DM is between Abu and Eboue. And Wislshere and Ramsey cover for both those positions.
Doesnt look bad and Stutgard are not Burgerland.
    Goodnight all I am off.

  21. Odub

Well that;s set us up nicely for the emirates and amsterdam tournies.
Off to the offy to replemish supplies!
    In a bit grovers.

  22. patthegooner

    Good Result that

Especially as Stuttgart are a week ahead of us in preps.

Wilshire has the world at his feet, the guy has more potential than any youth prospect I have seen to date (Inc Cesc)

Vela Brilliant finish and good link up with Nic

Nic great finish. I would now start him ahead of TT

TT and RVP, you could tell it was their first game

    Djorou looked solid

    Nasri looked handy

Eboue is still a cunt regardless of where he plays. I pray this years experiment is not him at CM.

    Clichy was good

    Sagna was solid

    Hoyte is not a CB

Overall Happy with that. still need to buy though

  23. YangKamp10

Lets not get too carried away just yet.

But does anyone think that Vela has already shown better credentials up front than Theo? Look at the chance theo put at the keeper, then Vela roofing one from similar distance with similar pressure from defenders….
And I think that Wilshire is proabably a better player than theo already…Scary.
Ramsey looks composed, but we still need a commander in there…
With Diaby to back up a new signing in there and Ramsey and Dennilson in the shadows, we might, just might be challenging.

  24. Adam

    Geoff,

I apologise if you’ve explained this already (I’ve scanned the comments but can’t see anything) but what’s the deal with Keith Wyness? My other team’s Aberdeen and Wyness was out Cheif Exec for a couple of years – he did a decent job.

  25. choy

Yk 10.. maybe its just that theo hasn’t played all that much compared to vela.. but that’s his queue.. he needs to step up!!

  26. Adam

    Geoff,

I apologise if you’ve explained already but what’s the deal with Wyness? My other team’s Aberdeen and he did a decent job there.

  27. goonermichael

I think ade is going to wish he a had gon and maybe Wenger will regret not selling him. I only watched the last 15 minutes of the 1st half but I lost count how many times he was offside

  28. choy

raif… gelbs is a trouble maker.. he has been on other blogs too!

always cursing wenger and everything to do with arsenal mostly!

  29. Adam

From wiki: the Olympic Club was his previous employment and there’s some sentence that doesn’t make sense about a court case and his only client etc. Did you work for this Olympic Club with him. Or for Cunard or BA before that?

  30. choy

    raif.. that really is great!!!

no wonder the board loves wenger…

the arsenal stadium mystery gets even more money!!!

  31. patthegooner

AKB TV Bottled it on the Wenger Most match interview so we are none the wiser on whether or not he plans to buy anyone after Bitchslap

Lets just hope Sky have the balls to do it on Saturday

  32. Geoff

Adam I met him when he worked for BA, he’s a mate, let’s see where he pops up, if it’s Arsenal, I’ll get an in depth interview, say no more!

  33. Pierre

well bitchslap is official, fan fukin tastic, the chant posted @5.00 is pure class, i burst out laughing. vela is special, i suspected he was, hope he gets his chance. I’d pick nicky B every time before togo c**t, the way Nicky has come through the team last year reminds me of how RVP came through a few years back, lets hope he has the potential, certainly seems to avoid injuries. Eboue at DM? he’lldo less harm there than anywhere else, we now have him, rambo, denilson, diaby, bitchslap, thats 5 bods for the position, none of them ideal but in wengers mind im sure he’s comfortable. He has fucked us over good an proper tho if we dont make another decent signing.

  34. ethangunner

    PAT

your saying shite i said weeks ago !
Bendtner has more natural skill than ade

and wiltshire is the MAN !
i said that this morning .. ( last post )

but remember these germans aint no Man U either ..

so are you still taking your buddies to see the chelsea game :) ???

  35. Geoff

Wrighty you really do get some thick cunts in your comments section, why do you put up with them? half of them can’t string a sentence together.

Wilshere does look the dogs though.

  36. Wrighty7

    Geoff,

To be honest mate I just ignore any donuts that leave stupid comments on my blog. They make themselves look stupid so I leave them to it!

What was our bet again about Walcott mate? I cant remember the terms!

  37. choy

ade should take a long hard look at himself and really needs to figure out just who the hell does he think he is!!

  38. david

Ade has proved Ethan right on tonights performance..
Offsides and poor touches, but Bendtner looked crap in the first games and got better.

  39. YangKamp10

Vela for me. We havent seen much of him but clearly what CV has over Theo is DECISION MAKING infront of goal, and COMPOSURE. He will lift it for example over the keeper whereas theo will hit it straight at him.

Vela is already being compared to King Dudu…

  40. Adam

Apparently the unmentionables from N17 are going to sign Arshavin as well as Bentley. I know that we don’t really need him and if he was really that good why is he breaking on the scene at 27 etc. but the quality of their buys is slowly getting better.

  41. Wrighty7

I always had a feeling that when Arshavin was snubbed by Arsenal and Barca his dream move would be to the Spuds.

What a loser! He has more dreams than a kid from a Freddie Kruger film!

  42. AndyB

we dont need arshavin anyway, Eto would be a much better option, in my opinion.
Just watched the game, sky+ is brilliant isn’t it, has that lankey sausage jockey still not learnt the off side rule?

  43. James Bartram

i think i said a couple of days ago we’d announce bischoff on the day we played stuttgart, and woe and behold… =D

i’m looking forward to seeing him in action. a good signing imo wenger. still need at least 1 more though. =D

  44. El Tel

    Hi guys

great debate today. I watched the match and I agree with everything Pat says a good description of the players.

The defence looked ok to me and my friend only had one save to make and he touched one around for a corner that was going wide anyway, 2 corners and nothing else from Stuttgart. Ade and RVP are clearly not match fit so I won’t slag the TT off. Nasri will be a great signing he is a worker with great technique.

Theo although he has improved he is moving behind the likes of Vela and the sensational Willshere already, will Theo be happy to play in bits of games again?

Gavin Hoyte looked good but Justin is just not up to it and how the fuck does Wenger put up with that arse Eboue.

I am excited with the way Nikki B looks reformed mentally and Vela looks special and that happiness is infectous. Nasri will be awesome and Sir Alf is a very good signing.

Willshere looks as good if not better than the baby Cesc was at this age and if Wenger plays him against teams of this character then he will be pushing for a first team place very soon.

I still worry about DM and maybe a couple of old heads and I will bitch forever about having a great keeper not an average one.

Geoff I think Jens played well tonight mate and if it wasn’t for him we could have got a few more goals.

I know Jens is past his best but I respect him and what he does.

Very happy Gooner but will these great youngsters be able to handle the rugby type teams like Blackburn Bolton and Wigan who will just kick them to bits and get the rotten referees and the medias approval

  45. El Tel

Alonso would fit in well in my opinion and could that Given/Senderos swap actually be a goer as Djoroue Gavin Hoyte Nordvelt will be there in 2 years time. We also have Song who is versatile.

TT out and another Nikki B type for up top and job done by Wenger.

  46. goonermichael

I really like Vela. imagine Nikki and rvp on with vela and dudu on the bench. I ‘m certain we’ll be the top scorers in the league.

  47. ethangunner

i told you barry would go to liverpool !
just like i said ade is shit !

    goon mike .
Yes vela and jack , even ramsay has some talent ..
not sure how much talent will surface this season ..
but they are class .. class for the future ..

still not enough in the tank for arsenal i’m afraid .
We need more players .. older players with seasoned experience ..

talent alone has proven its not good enough to win the EPL ..
we are missing the vital balance between youth and experience ..

  48. Patrick7

Ethan – Good morning. Barry stayed put in the end!

Good show last night eh! Scintillating at times: the passing and skills exhibited. Our squad looks to have grown quite a bit so think it’s strong enough in numbers now bar the defensive and leadership capabilities.

Interesting that Senderos has played no part to date. El Tel WOULD be pleased with a swap for Given. I can’t see that happening yet but if Phil doesn’t play this weekend it must be on!

Even you must have been excited last night?

  49. Pedro

“They took him for a trial, made him an offer and he asked for a bit more – but they said that’s it,”

Keane thinks that is an outrageous way to negotiate… wanker…

  50. gnarleygeorge9

    G’Day all,

I watched the first 40 minutes of the game(replay). Nasri looks alright, & will only get better. in fact, if they can have better luck with injuries this season, The Club will be in great shape. Manure ‘s luck has to run out sooner or later.

I don’t aspire to this we need older heads to win the PL. the older heads are still there that will be used in the campaign.Gilberto & Lehmann were hardly used last year. Nasri replaces Flamini & Hleb was a fancy little fuck that needed to fuck off. Like the winger in Charles “Charlie” Charle’s team. The future is looking great IMO :)

  51. gnarleygeorge9

17 more sleeps till the Big Day (Night if you are in OZ or from across the “dutch” I mean ditch) , YIPPEE!!!!!!!
