I have watched it on a few occasions and they do slate us, more the reason to prove them wrong. I think this time last season with Henry’s departure everyone wrote us off and with such a good start to the season I really wanted us to win something. I can only imagine how AW feels and i sometimes do feel sorry for him. I am also of the view that we really need to repalce David Dein, it shocking that Arsene is handling all transfer dealing along with the daily team management.
On a more positive note on new DMF’s being mentioned….Barry/Veloso/Yaya…my pick would be Veloso but only if he costs less than £15m. It dosent seem Yaya would come because he could have easily have been exchanged with Hleb (with a little extra more obviously) and Barry has his heart set on Liverpool who are just playing a waiting game….Barry being booed by AV fans now so wouldnt want to stay and the longer they leave it till the greater the price drop….

Finest – I don’t think we have the luxury to moralise at the moment. The stark reality is an available experienced player (if AW wants him and is prepared to pay) vs. a 17 year-old from the championship or a couple of under 21′s s who haven’t managed more than 50 games for Arsenal between them. Personally I think Barry represents value on a number of levels.

Barry’s the man then or not? Just found out Veloso’s 1st position is a CB although he is known for his DMF role. At 5’11 he’d be useful anyway and could be used as DMF this season, or next as well, while Diaby/Denilson are checked out then moved to CB when WG or Toure are struggling/injured. He’s a leftie also with captaincy experience so ideal for WG successor. He can also bend a ball, take free kicks etc.
Add to that our bench is getting even younger…..
It would be interesting to find out how effective the bench has been over the past few years…

you’ll be making lots of transfers Treze….you can make a transfer every week, any additional transfers in a week cost you 4 points, so only do it if you think you can win the points back or more. You have a wildcard which means you are allowed ONE bonus transfer on top of your weekly allowance, this can only be used once, once again use it wisely, such as if you have so many injuries on your team that you can’t field 11 players.

I was encouraging Geoff to partake…..and Geoff was pretending he wouldn’t join (he just wanted everyone to ask him…so we did) and the idea of adding to the prize fund to make it more attractive sprung to mind.
