YaYa or will it be Barry? Shut your gob Flem.

by & filed under Uncategorized.

Okay, so Arsene said there will be blood! well he actually said there will be a player or maybe two coming in that is 25 or over, the blood bit was the Daniel Day Lewis film I saw at the weekend and like Arsenal’s first half performance, it was crap, so don’t bother!

The rumour is YaYa or Barry, well now Liverpool seem to be going after Keane, it leaves the way open for a cut price Barry, as you all know I have been tipping Barry for some time now and one paper at the weekend said he would jump at the chance to join Arsenal, who wouldn’t frankly, he only said he wants to go to Liverpool because they were the only one’s that showed an interest, so let wait and hope.

Flem, Helb or better know as shoooooot is suggesting that Cesc could end up at his beloved Barca, my arse, he’s a gooner, shooooot needs to shut his cakehole and concentrate on not scoring for his new team, rather than recruiting for them.

Shoooooot became the 7th player that Barca have had off us since Wenger has been in power, hopefully Ade will make it 8, I think Ade will go, Wenger didn’t look convincing when talking about him and I, like most of you, hope he’ll go.

Pedro talked long and hard about some of the new talent, I only disagreed with him on Randall and he disagreed with me on Muamba so that’s fair, time will tell who was right, but like we say on Le Grove, you can disagree as long as you don’t insult the person you’re disagreeing with, unless of course you are the author, so Pedro, you’re a muppet and you should go and support the chavs.

Other news is we are fighting to hold onto Gallas and RVP, I don’t believe the RVP bit but I hope we sack Gallas and bring in Zapata.

Should we lose RVP and Ade, then we should bring in Benzema, Santa Cruz or Villa, but we won’t so that’s the end of that speculation.

I’m becoming hopeful after watching the Barnet game, I thought Simpson looked sharp and Wilshere and Ramsey I think will feature this season, could Rogers slipstream Senderos? he looked solid didn’t he.

Whatever will happen, will happen soon I feel, Wenger looked calm and like he knew something, he had that sparkle and not the look of a doomed man, so with games aplenty and the cups coming up, we should have a lot to talk about thiis next few weeks.

Have a great week Grovers, I feel good. …and don’t forget, that film was crap!

Pat he has sorted out a replacement, Barry! Ade can fuck off and bring in Villa. I’m off for an hour.

ARSENAL TALK: Hleb believes Fabregas could return to Barca

    9:10am Monday 21st July 2008

EX-ARSENAL midfielder Alexander Hleb has hinted that former team-mate Cesc Fabregas could follow him to Bacelona.

The 27-year-old has just completed a 11.8million move to the Camp Nou and believes former Barca trainee Fabregas could one day be tempted to head back to Spain.

“Cesc loves this club,” said Hleb. “Now he’s at Arsenal but who knows if he’ll come back to Barca?”

Cash = Newcastle United for Adebayor

He won’t get the kind of money he wants at Arsenal, no matter how much noise he makes.
    Empty vessels…

  4. Pierre

makelalie just left the chavs, he was 35, he was 30 when he was signed, gilberto left us when he was 31, he was given away for a token fee to reduce the wage bill, is that any way to manage a club? a DM can play on into their mid thirties, makalalie proves it.

  5. charybdis1966

Didn’t you hear Plastic Mac – they’ve relocated the Samaritans helpline to a call centre in Rawalpindi.

If you call in like that they’ll get excited and ask if you can fly a plane.

Sorry, bad taste recycling of old gag.

  6. david

Before the Barnet game on Saturday, they interviewed the Barnet chairman and he said that he hopes Barnet don’t go one -nil up because the last time that happened Arsenal got the hump and won 10-1.
Considering the team that we had out in the first half I would have thought there would have been a better reaction from the players to going a goal down.
The best player on the pitch was a player who couldn’t get into the Cardiff first team.
Do I feel confident? No not yet!

  7. Evo in Oz

i cant see the toure deal going through, no new news on it…surely he would have been part of the kleb deal if it was going to work out?

  8. finestcuts

Just pointing out that if hleb can speculate, so can I, tomorrow’s news hasn’t been written yet (or has it and i just don’t know about it?!), but I am in no way shape or form concerned about Hleb’s gossip.

  9. TREZE13

JUS GOT MY EXAM RESULTS A,A,B,B,A* WOOOOOO!!!!!!!

(off topic and no one cares but have to share with someone)

  10. Dave T

Firstly I dont think we have lost any world class players maybe bar Hleb but most did not rate him on here anyway. Flamini was good for last season but world class not by a long shot. Equally Bertie was world class but not last season, Lens was but again not last season, the early season mistakes you could argue cost us as dear as the eduardo injury in terms of points. We do need to buy world class as both the Chavs and Mancs will or already have done. Bosingwa will be a bloody brilliant signing for the Chavs.

Re Ade Wengers interview was really interesting was his use of words. He said Ade would “I am very confident he will start the season with us”. Well the season starts before the end of the transfer Window I belive. There is a lot of talk of deals being done right at the last moment to save on wages and to lower costs. So I am thinking wenger may be telling the truth that Ade will start the season with us but may not be here for anything more than the first few weeks.

I was talking with a season Ticket holder who is also a senior exec in one of the big Finance houses. He said it is fairly well known in the finance and banking industry the Hill wood is clear that he will not let the club getting into any further debt. This means he will not sanction any spending that is not already budgeted for or covered by sales. The word is that Wnger has wanted to spend both in January and this summer but despite the public statements the board are holding the purse strings very tight. Wenger to spend has to sell. Although on paper our surplus seems good my mate says that they are very worried about the impact of the credit crunch on the housing sales. They have only secured depositis on the properties and the sales do not appear to be going through as expected. Not good news I know .

So maybe we will see more of Barazite et al than we were expecting!

  11. patthegooner

They might not have been world class Dave, but they were better than their internal replacements

  12. TREZE13

:D this is just for science, english,R.E,maths and Business.

My school turned into an academy recently so we get ours early for some subjects

  13. david

We still manage to buy 16 and 17 year olds and pay them half a million pounds each!!

Man U made a profit by buying players and winning things, isn’t that what a football club should be doing?

  14. Dave T

Pat I agree Bertie was, but Hleb and Flamini when we signed them were nothing to write home about. Flamini could have been sold twelve months ago and we would all ahve been saying its no loss. I wonder if Denilson or Diaby will do as Flamini did. You usually get one in a team/squad that suddenly steps out of the shadows and surprises us.

Im still hopeful though, not sure why at present but I am. Maybe stupid, some would agree but I always think hope is better state of mind than despaire. after all most people would rather spend time in the company of the hopefull than the desperate.

Ask me again if we lose the first two games and I may well ahve become a leading member of the desperate group.

  15. robert

If we going to spend a ridiculously amount of money on a defensive midfielder, I think we should buy Miguel Veloso, I have seen him play several times, and I can assure all gooners that he is just as good as Flamini. He is strong, hard working, good at tackling, he can play in several positions and he can shoot really hard and really accurate. He can become the best defensive midfielder in the world if he moves to a top club soon.
A cheaper option would be Nigel de Jong. I saw him in the Euro cup and he was really good. He is only 23 years old and he has played about 60 league games for HSV and 100 for Ajax. I don’t know much about him but I know he can play as a full back and as a midfielder.

  16. andy

i agree with robert. if we should spend a ridicules amount of money on a DM i think we should buy Veloso…..

  17. david

There debt was not football related it was loaded on when the Glaziers took the club over.

They made a £50 million pounds profit on the football side of things, but had to pay about £80 million in interest on the debt.

  18. Arsenal Tom

so basically will-wood is saying to wenger he’s got no transfere budget at all and hes gotta sell to spend!?? how can that be right?!!

everton are in moutinho from lisbon

well done mate, makes my C grades look a little ropey!!!

choy… u kidding right? he’d spend even longer )if poss) rolling around on the floor than usuall!!!

  21. Arsenal Tom

i got juve tickets… wanted real madrid but play 5 a side sunday nights and fancied a(nother) day on the beers

  22. Dave T

Evo, was the debt question aimed in my direction? If it was I guess what I was told was that Our board will not sanction any further debt. Other clubs have different finacial strategies. Im not saying Hill wood is right its just what I was told. Re the youngsters on millions. I am not convinced we really do spend millions on them. The odd one or two yes but not so it makes a diference to the overeall budget. Top players command top fees and salaries and Hill wood and the board despite the public statements do not wish to sanction more spending than they think the club can afford and stay in profit

  23. TREZE13

I wanted juve ones can’t see Real playing a full stregnth team where Juve are too proud to not take this tourney seriously

  24. Evo in Oz

Dave T – not you bro, the other David on the man scum debt.

im happy with our spot, we’d still be at highbury if we didnt have any coin….loved highbury thou, i was telling a celtic mate about it today…like a bowling green surface

  25. finestcuts

That’s an idea, why don’t they employ bowling green groundsmen/women to sort out some of the pitches around the Premier league?

  26. Arsenal Tom

dave if that is true then hill-wood is even more stupid than i thought!! speculate to acumulate… with the squad we had last year another 2/3 top class players we could have won the prem, instead were gonna need a miracle to win it

  27. Dr Whiff

Fuck me Jimbo are you actually an Arsenal fan? you are the most negative person I have ever seen on here

  28. finestcuts

It’s just an excuse really isn’t it, bowling greens don’t earn huge profits but manage to keep a smooth surface for their punters, give some bowling green OAP groundsman 20k a year instead of him taking a pension and he/she would do a good job.

  29. Dave T

Arsenal Tom, I think he has a budget, but we need to drop the word Transfer out of it. He has an overally budget for the coming year. He has to manage wages and transfers out of this. Hence the comments earlier in the month by Wenger about sorting out the contracts of certain players. Once these agreed and signed plus losing the wages of Famini, Bertie Lens etc he can then look at whats left. I still think he will buy someone in the 10-15 million bracket if Ade stays, if he goes he will buy two in this bracket. But it may be just before the deadline as I said before this will save on wages and costs do come down as clubs become more worried about selling/buying.

  30. david

Wigans pitch was okay against Man U because the Rugby game that was due to be played there a few days before got cancelled.
    Just shit for everyone else..

  31. Ballie

Personally, I think we will struggle if we loose RVP this season, because although he didn’t play hardly any games for us in the last campaign, he is, in my opinion, the best forward technically in the premiership (Forget that overated tottenham C.U.N.T, he ain’t a touch on him (finished 10th hahaha)) … Pedro knows I never rated Hleb and I feel like I’m in the position to say “I told you he was a good for nothing toerag, who just looked good when he had the likes of Cesc, Rosicky and RVP around him”, so there you have it … in regards to the comment should we pay 15m for a DM, I would unequivocally say yes and for those of you who doubt my claim, consider what we have achieved since our Patrick left. Diaby isn’t established enough to fill such an important role because I would argue the only reason we lost the title race last season is because we conceded too many goals. Barry is my number 1 transfer target and I think if he came to Arsenal it would not only benefit the club but, the state of English football on the International stage. I mean really, Lampard, a 150k a week player. What’s going wrong with football?

  32. finestcuts

There should be mandatory pitch inspections before games, where teams have to have their pitch ready to the required standard, otherwise the game should be postponed or moved to an emergency venue. All teams would need to have an emergency venue
(preferably a stadium with a lower capacity to encourage teams to make their own pitch decent).

  33. Dave T

How about, shit pitch = a goal head start to the other team? I knowits not realistic but its lunchtime and realism is a construct best debated after 2.00pm. Im off for a Sarnie

  34. finestcuts

Once Ferguson leaves Manyoo, they’ll crumble, their debt situation could force them
to sell players, most of their fans are just “fashion” fans, they’ll change allegiance when they’re not as successful as they were. Manyoo have been lulled into a false sense of security, just like when the Wall Street crash pre-World War 2 happened in the USA, people were living it up, on tick, assured that the boom was neverending. Then the market suddenly exploded…

  35. Arsenal Tom

wenger on ade from arsenal.com, sounds pretty certain…

“Adebayor is a player of Arsenal Football Club and I am very confident he’ll stay,” said the Frenchman.

“If you come in tomorrow with £400 million then maybe I would think about it. But I don’t really want to go in to speculation. I want to keep Adebayor.”

    400mil?!?!?!

  36. david

If Man U ‘s debt gets out of control , the glaziers will just sell the club to a Billionaire Russian or someone in Dubai ( prob the reason they play friendlies over there to promote the brand).

  37. Geoff

ManU pay £63 million in interest on there £850 million debt.

Our debt will be wiped clean with the sale of Highbury Square, so even if they’re not all sold, we’ll be paying very little in interest, this debt shit, well it’s shit and lies.

So when you buy a house, do you spread it over 20 years or pay it all off at once? there you go, we moved so we could compete with the big boys, not the other way around.

I have said this many times before, so apologies to the regulars, this is for the new boys!

  38. Arsenal Tom

yeah i take it all day mate but what a silly number to say, maybe he was having a sly one at the board

  39. choy

geoff i just think that the board are being skint and want to pay off the debt as soon as they can!! and they have the perfect manager for that …

thats good in the long term view… but the football is getting fucked for now!!!

  40. finestcuts

The debt will be greatly reduced, and the repayments will be even more affordable than they are now due to higher profits after all creditors and bills paid.

  41. gazzap

cant see us spending on Barry and Zapata. maybe one of them but not both. If I had to choose one, it would be Zapata. Defence cannot be gambled with. I think Ramsey and Coquelin might just be good enough despite their age.
even if we offered Hoyte and Gallas in part-ex, I still dont see us having enough money for both.

  42. david

    Like we have been finest?

Our debts would be reduced if we won something.
Then we could get better sponsership, better shirt deals, greater tv money, greater prize money.
Then we could buy better players, sell even more shirts, win more trophies.

Or we could stand still or go backwards just increasing season ticket prices..

  43. Arsenal Tom

evo i agree, but im hoping the bischoff deal wont count as he’s said he’ll go into the reserves so that cant really count, we still need a winger as much as a defensive player

  44. Geoff

The deals we did were shit, £110mil for the naming rights and 50 for the kit, crapola, that’s 15 years for the Grove and 8 for the kit.

Wenger has now been quoted on Arsenal.com as saying I will buy 1 maybe two, but 1 will be experienced, that says Barry to me, Zapata will only come if he sells Gallas, and I can’t see that happening.

At least he’s going to buy though.

  45. ReVELAtion

    afternoon all…

Not much happening today as i guess wenger has selected his squad and is on his way to austria…

People seem to have forgotten about Gibbs and Merida… Gibbs is going out on loan to Norwich if my sources are correct.. Merida should stay and play in the reserves fighting for a 1st team place… He looked absolute quality yesterday albeit Spain we’re already out.. A Good MOM performance….Thing is he also plays left mid which quashes the need for a winger talk…

I can see wenger only bringing in a centre half or defender that can play accross the back 4 if the rumours are true and William loses the captaincy…

We’ll definantly be bolstering the midfield… Just to bolster the numbers if Diaby get’s the nod or an expensive signing to play next to cesc.. I’d prefer the latter, but Diaby’s performances in pre-season will go some ways to telling us that.. If we sign bitchslap i reckon that’ll be dealings DONE :(

  46. david

If Man U sold out and named their stadium (the Nike theatre of dreams) it would significantly reduce their debt so they cannot be totally skint yet

  47. Geoff

I would second that but as I’ve said before Wenger has said absolutely no central defender, then he said and you can print that.

Thing is, he has to be careful he doesn’t lose too many players, Gallas would make 5 first teamers, that half the team, yes I know Flamini and Gilberto filled the same spot but not always, and Gilberto was nearly always on the bench.

  48. ReVELAtion

That’s a big risk imo… The only Championship WINNING experience we’ll have is toure & clichy… Dodgy, very dodgy…

  49. charybdis1966

David at 12.59 – don’t forget Wigan relaid the pitch for Manskum especially for ole 65% proof nose.

The fact Wigans manager is an ex manksummer is of course, coincidental.

Anyone remember when Bendtner was about to pull the trigger on a shot and the ball bobbled up, like a Shane Warne flipper ?

  50. finestcuts

This will be controversial…but here goes…..Senderos will become a very good player, he is a bit wobbly but when he’s on his game he is already a good defender. Yes we need someone now, no doubt about that, but don’t write Phil off yet…

  51. Evo in Oz

gallas will be screwed in 1-2 more seasons max…so whilst he is experienced, you cant play forever…

  52. ReVELAtion

Granted Zapata would be a good addition, but not a direct replacement… We’ll get a defender i reckon as I have a feeling Hoyte & Djourou will not be with arsenal come the start of the season..

  53. ReVELAtion

finest i’ve got to agree with you on senderos.. He looks woeful against real top class strikers, but against anyone else i’m not worried when he plays… He’s got to go up another notch and isn’t quite in last chance saloon yet, but definantly has got to take it to the next level…

Plus he’s best mates with cesc, can speak 7 languages (will help others settling in), is a good personality to have the squad i’m told and has experience at the highest levels…. Is still young so can improve definantly…

    I’d say keep him…

  54. Evo in Oz

he needs to get on the cheeseburgers…

im a big phil fan, always have been, so im sticking with him

  55. ReVELAtion

Nordveit is that little bit classy and is one of my favs from the youth’s up and coming… He’s a couple of years away from the 1st team though.. So, hard work and patience will see him through…. It really is all down to him where he goes from here on in, like alot of them…

    Randall though, don’t like him…

  56. Mark C

with all of the Arsenal flats, the headline is 90% sold.

What that actually means if we have exchanged contracts on 90% of them. this is normally 10% of the value of the property, but I seem to remember that they were allowing for 5% or even less.

When the flats start completing, again please correct me, but I believe this to be 2009 the cash will start to come in.

if people dont complete, they lose their deposit.

I guess when the money comes in, they will pay off most of the debt, or re- finance to a better rate, predictions are for interest rates to fall to 4% by the end of the year.

We will be debt free in less than 20 years, or the level of debt we are servicing will be minimal.

  57. finestcuts

We were only about 5 million short on the Zapata bid back in june, Udinese made it clear it’s a price issue…..therefore if Gallas goes to PSG we’ll have the required funds.

  58. charybdis1966

Evo and Finestcuts – I’d like to say I also think Swiss Tony is worth keeping. People always say our exit from the Champions League was all his fault – but they conveniently forget it was Toure who gave away the penalty after Theo’s wonder goal.

This is just IMHO based on watching him live and on televised games and I won’t be aghast if anyone disagrees.

  59. ReVELAtion

He was pretty poor all around in that game chary, but he wasn’t the only one who played poor… Like i’ve said he looks nervous against top quality strikers, but he’s still young and can get bullied or in the case of torres get shown up by the best… He’ll come good and if he’s with toure at the back and were not playing man u, chelsea or pool i’m confident….

  60. ReVELAtion

yes finest that’s only if we hold onto what we’ve got now… I could live with that, but i’m just still to be convinced about barry

  61. charybdis1966

Exactly David – if we wanted the head of every player who made some errors during the course of a season we’d have no squad left.

  62. Arsenal Tom

its nice to see some people supporting big phil, i really dont think he’s a bad as most think!!! he should never have been dropped when kolo came back and was clearly fucked.

gallas will stay this year and be captain, then go in the summer and cesc will get the arm band to make him stay after we win nothing again, id put money on it!!

  63. Geoff

Mark, a director of Arsenal told me we will be debt free at the end of 2009, the development is owned by a developer, not us, so I think we get paid regardless.

Either way our debt won’t be that great, if it was, it would have been madness to do it in the first place wouldn’t it!

I can’t see Wenger selling Gallas, all this has come out of no-where, so it’s pointless picking out who we want, we’ll just be disappointed.

  64. ReVELAtion

chary i’ll have the head of eboue ;) but in the case of big phil as a 2nd string player and in eboue’s case to an extent, I’d rather that than alot of other options that have their playing experience and age… They aren’t ideal starters, but good squad members in my opinion..

@ Finest, i’m worried that our 1st team squad has seen enough depletion from it already… If we brought in barry & zapata i’d be happy with that as long as gallas and/or adebayor didn’t leave.. If they did i would only not be bothered by it if we replaced their departures with more players…

As i’ve said i still think we’ll bring in a defender as I can’t see hoyte & djourou being at arsenal come the start of the season…

  65. david

I think we are hard on our players as we see so much of them . If we watched Terry, Lescott or Richards every week they make the same ammount of cock ups.

I saw Cech and Reina make as more cock ups than Almunia last year when they played us but Manuel gets bad press..

  66. finestcuts

ReVELAtion, you’ll probably see your wish regarding Adebayor granted, but he will have the whole Emirates on his back from now on.

Gallas, will he stay around and accept a similar amount of games to Gilberto. It would also stifle Phil’s progress, opinions are split as to whether this is a good or a bad thing. Can Gallas’s ego take having the captaincy being awarded to someone else.
If Gallas goes at the cost of Zapata going in, I’m all for it, but in this case I don’t think we’ll get the option of having our cake and eating it, either Gallas stays and we don’t get a new defender, or he goes and we need to

  67. Bud

Just watched Gilberto’s goodbye interview………….. I love that man…………. his quote “Arsenal will always be in my heart and I will allways be watching and will always come back, so see you soon”

  68. charybdis1966

Just thinking out loud; am I correct in thinking that everyone, bar Cesc & Sagna, has been put on the “should be sold” list by bloggers here ?

  69. Arsenal Tom

id rather keep gallas for another year, bringing in zapata now could cause big problems… he doesnt the league and wouldnt have time to adjust, like i said gallas will go after this season and cesc will get the armband to keep him here like we did with henry

  70. Pierre

Whats this Gallas rumor? I like the sound of him leaving, never liked him in an Arsenal shirt, dissapointed when he came in for the Cashly deal, stroppy selfish bastard, bad idea to make him captain, fuck him off and get someone younger and taller in!

  71. Arsenal Tom

    chary…

sagna, cesc, clichy, eddie, toure, theo, RVP (unless his injuries continue) are the must-keepers for me

  72. patthegooner

I dont think Gallas should go but I do think we should bring in the big CB and let Toure and Gallas fight for the other spot.

Give Cesc the Captaincy too, he deserves it. If Gallas kicks off tuff.

Never seen this Zapata but he is another young player. Surely we should be looking for someone a bit more experienced

  73. finestcuts

At least we’re unaninimous on a few fronts, supporting Arsenal of course, and that Zapata + Barry/Yaya would be enough to make our challenge for the title extra strong.

  74. ShotJIM

Im still confident we will be again challenging for the title even though we have lost some players. It seems these days to have stablity within a team, managers need to buy younger and younger. Hopefully once fighting to break into a team they will have a heart and desire to stay and win with that team. Some players will always get greedy and want more but hopefully i agree with the wage structure and i want them to win trophies as much as anyone but i am patient. I think with the team we have and the young players recently bought and coming through we have a quality team playing beautifull football and who all want to win. We may have some teething problems but i have faith. If we can bring in Barry or someone simular then i will be even more confident. Im sure we can win this season but if not the season after we will unstoppable. Wenger has been and still is building a great team and the players we have lost or will lose just cant be a part of it.

  75. Patrick7

Gallas will be fine for at least another year. He’s also our best back up for Clichy! As some have said it’s Phil’s last year to prove himself as with several others but we don’t need to unravel our CD at this stage; we’ve got enough to sort in midfield & if Ade goes.

A good DMF can protect the defence so I see it as 1-2 being brought in there hopefully with Bischoff as an extra. Hoyte + cash for Barry looks a cert at this stage!

  76. choy

where are these zapata rumours emerging from.. or is it just a wishlist?

wenger said 25 yr old is too old for arsenal… smokescreen for barry?

  77. Patrick7

I don’t see Cesc as captain for at least a couple of years. Toure and Gallas can share it between them as ‘senior citizens’. One of them will always be involved for the forseeable future. A season’s a long time in football!

  78. Mark C

    Dear Supporter,

We are all now looking forward to the 2008/09 season, with the Emirates Cup kicking the campaign off at the stadium on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd August.

Ahead of the new season, we just wanted to take this opportunity to explain our policy concerning standing in the seated areas at Emirates Stadium. We do understand that many of you want to show your support and urge the team on – and we have no objection to people standing in order to see a particular move or at crucial points in the game. However, in one or two sections of the stadium, it is becoming increasingly apparent that supporters have been standing throughout some of the matches.

There are a number of reasons why the Club, in conjunction with the Premier League have to kindly request that supporters sit down if they are standing persistently throughout the match.

Although safety is a major factor, the main concern generated from persistent standing during matches is the general welfare and comfort of other supporters.

Please find below the general reasons why we kindly request supporters to sit down during matches. Standing in seated areas seriously affects the enjoyment of the match of other supporters who simply cannot see the match because of people standing in front.

    The welfare of other supporters

When people stand up in a seated football stadium, those behind cannot see – and this doesn’t just mean the one person in the seat behind.

As soon as someone stands up they prevent many people from having a full view of the pitch. Children, the elderly and those who find it difficult to stand for any period of time, cannot see the match, and it is unfair to deprive them of the opportunity to watch the match.

    Safety issues

When a large number of people stand for any length of time, the crowd inevitably spreads out and there is a tendency for the gangways to become blocked.

It is essential that these gangways are kept clear in case of an emergency – which is one of the Club Stewards’ responsibilities on a matchday.

If just one person falls over when there are many standing, this can cause a ‘domino effect’ to occur, and many people could suffer injury as a result.

    Stadium regulations

In order for the local authority (Islington Borough Council) to grant a safety certificate for Emirates Stadium, the Club has to demonstrate that we are able to manage our supporters and the stadium regulations are adhered to, which include ensuring that supporters are seated.

Without a safety certificate, the stadium cannot be opened. If the authority decides that any areas of the stadium are unsafe due to persistent standing they could impose certain conditions which could include the closing of specific areas of the stadium.

In conclusion, we just want to say that we are proud of the fantastic support we enjoy at Arsenal and of the excellent behaviour of our fans who attend our matches both home and away. We just ask all supporters to be considerate towards other people in the stadium who wish to sit down during the match.

We value your support and want you to continue to enjoy the matches at Emirates Stadium and the purpose of this communication is part of a concerted effort by all Premier League clubs to ensure that supporters understand why clubs are asking people to sit down during matches.

We hope that this information has been useful and in short, please help us – and your fellow supporters – by ensuring that Emirates Stadium remains a safe and comfortable place for all.

Unfortunately, if the Club receives continual complaints concerning individual supporters, or individuals refuse to follow the instructions from Stewards, the Club will have no option but to suspend the membership of the offending individual.

Can we also take this opportunity to once again make supporters aware of our Anti-Social Text Service at Emirates Stadium. Please click here for full details.

Thank you for your continued support.

    Yours sincerely,

    John Beattie
    Stadium Manager

    Wenger:

“Perhaps we can expect some older players but it depends what you call old – 25 is very old at Arsenal, but yes – you could expect one player with experience.”

I think Wenger just pointed out what we all know, that most of the squad are very young and that in Arsenal terms “25 is very old”.

    hello Arsenal Fans.

I have been reading this website for a few days after it was brang to my attention by one of my staff members. now i belive many of you have concerns about how many signings we will make and in what positions. but rest rest assured we will make the right signings for the team.

I also understand there is many of you who may not agree with Emmanuel still being at Arsenal. but i have spoken to him today and he is 100% fully dedicated to Arsenal.

    sincerely

Adebayor did turn up for training & is apparently willing to commit himself to Arsenal. Thats fucking nice of him isn’t it!!

The guy isn’t ashamed by his antics at all.

Yes Villa is back on the market…..what a coup that would be, just as Adebayor comes backto training on Monday….you’ve got your cert Mr. Wenger, could this be your “if he is available” player?
    Sell Adebayor to Newcastle!
    Buy Villa!
He wants to play for us!

  83. Arsenal Tom

sounds like bollocks to me finest… $30mil… thats about £15m english right?? not a chance… imagine him in italy, ordering ‘spag bol’ every night with his mrs

  84. Arsenal Tom

mark, id rather have silva than villa… we need a top class winger

rooneys interview would be like a reverse of the bloke from the fast show, only worse

  85. michael

Actually finest I believe it. Milan are disruptive cunts. When Rooney dies down they’ll say they’re after Darren Bent.

  86. Mark C

    Pele said of Rooney.

    “he is not world class”

He is not one of the top 5 players in the world”

4 years ago he looked like being one, but he has not progressed.

Unsurprisingly he got sent off in a pre-season friendly. And ole 65% proff nose defended him. And still people say only Wenger whinges about his players unfair treatment.

Manyoo are fair game at the moment, they’ve tried to pull a couple of Spuds on the sly, they tried to brush it off as something based on a newspaper report, with the BBC automatically backing their stance, whereas Spuds are reported to have a whole dossier
regarding the allegations. Manyoo could now feel what we have. every transfer window.
