Northern monkey tabloids are reporting that Arsenal have made an 11th hour bid to get Gareth Barry and are using Hoyte plus cash as a lure.
O’Neill hates the scousers, as we all do, he likes Hoyte, so I can smell a way out for all of us here, we on Le Grove have always rated Barry and I would be super confident for next year if we signed him to.
Ade off would be great as I’m fed up with him big time and Huntelaar in, that would make the boy wonder happy and that’s a good thing too, finally Hleb out and YaYa in plus cash would complete it, stick a couple of young’uns into the mix and we’re looking at mopping up next year.
I always hoped that the Nasri deal would start the ball rolling so expect thing to happen at a pace from here on in.

Barry has said he’s desperate to join Liverpool, so I cannot see him changing his mind on that even if Arsenal do go in for him.
I do hope Wenger has some sort of plan if Gilberto really is leaving, because with Hleb on his way & Ade wanting to leave we do need some more players!!

Although I would be sad to see Hoyte go, I feel he needs to, just because he cant make it with us, doesnt mean he is a bad player so I am with you on the Barry/Hoyte + cash, would not be so bad. Hoyte will never ouster Bac or even Eboue at RB - AW preferred Toure, when he could have used Hoyte, so if I were him I would get the message…
My only worry is how much Barry REALLY wants to go to the Scoucers, we dont want a player who doesnt want to play for us. If his move is purely based on wanting CL football, then that wont be an issue.
I also feel, that Hleb and Ade will be sorted within the next 48hours, and that will get the cheque book burning with over use!!

Apparently Arsenal have dropped their asking price for Adebayor. Vincenzo Morabito told Antenna 3 that arsenal are willing to accept just over 16 million for him!!

i think he is to English for a club like Arsenal, i don’t think he would fit into our style of play. We need someone like Yaya, Veloso or maybe a current player we poses in Alex Song. Think either one of those player could fill the void left by the money grabbing C**t Flamoney.
The Adebayor story is getting annoying now. I read on Channel 4 that the £32m Arsenal are holding out for is unrealistic and Arsenal are willing to sell for alot less than that. I believe we need to keep the Money Grabbing donkey. Think if he stays, he can only get better. Arsene Wenger needs to stamp authority on his team and teach the Arsenal team, that you cant just up and leave the club when you are under contract.
As for Nasri,
Looks like we’ve made a perfect signing and what a long time it took. I believe he would fit in straight away. He has Sagna, Diaby, Clichy and Wenger who all fluent in speaking french, so he wont have any problem settling in.

Barca bidded like £26m for adebayor, just take it and buy someone else, i think adebayor is good, he is well underated, he has pace and strength which is a good combo for a striker.

ethan, how many times you seen Falcao play live?? How many times you seen Gourcuff play live?? I’ve never seen falcao so I won’t comment on him other than that he looks quite slow. I have seen Gourcuff though & he’s never done anything that looked very good to me, just another youngster that was built up!!

Fair shout Ethan… I guess the signing of a truly prolific striker will show us whether ade was good or not. I liked having a scary striker in the team… I thought RvP complimented him well.
It would be interesting to see how Huntelaar played when being fed by Cesc… even Villa.

LADS ur all forgeting we have VELA aswell. Wenger sees him as a striker!!! and Wenger has said he sees Theo as more as a striker also but felt he had to play him on the right wing as we was short there. so think of Theo as a striker.

Guys - we cant count Dudu until at least Christmas, all reports are good about his recovery, but to get his muscles strong enough to be ‘match fit’ is another thing, also, he will need time to recover mentally. Even when he is ‘ready’ he will be used as a sub only (IMHO)

I like Adebayor… he improves every year, opposition hate playing against him and he bangs them in. He is effectively our fox in the box.
Setting up goals is not his job…
Bergkamp used to set them up at the expense of his goal tally, Wrighty used to bang them in without a concern for assists and then Thierry burst on the scene… the super striker… assister and finisher.
We can’t expect to see a player like that again for 10 years.
GMR, Hleb gelled the team well… his contribution levels in terms of productivity were low, but his work rate and the way he bound our play can’t be dismissed.
However, he is replaceable… and if we can replace his skills and add a bit end product… we could actually be better off this season.
No other striker has scored more than 30 goals because our main striker list goes like this…
Wrighty…. Bergkamp… Henry… Ade
Who else had a divine right to a starting slot up front in the last ten years?

Pedro, sorry but I stopped taking you seriously the minute you started talking about Hleb’s work rate!! The guy went backwards more than forwards & slowed the play down which allowed opposition teams to get everyone behind the ball!!
So from next season I expect our strikers to score at least 50+ goals each & if they don’t they are shit & should be sold off as a complete waste of space!! After all with the ‘best midfield’ in the world supplying them it shouldn’t be a problem!!

There is a split decision on those that actually rate him as a player (including myself) and those that think he is Crap. And those that think he is crap will never be convinced so it is a pointless debate.

However we are all in agreement that we want him out due to his personality flaws, so given that, lets look at the pros and cons of who might replace him.

Ethan - Kleb did no marshalling or binding whatsoever, his job was to dribble and carry the ball to the box - thats it! Cesc and particularly Flamini did the marshalling in the midfield and Gallas and Toure did the marshalling at the back!

Adriano Galliani says Milan have put a move for Emmanuel Adebayor on hold amid reports the club are close to signing Ronaldinho.

The final 3 games!! What those oh so important fixtures where we could neither go up or down in the league?? How many of the first team played against Sunderland?? In my opinion
Hleb is an excellent footballer with one major flaw
Goals
He dribbles well and his distribution has got better (his passing was dreadful the season before last) and I think he complemented Flamini and Cesc.
I also think that he would be happier playing at the front of a diamond or as a second striker. I dont ever think he was happy playing on the left or right for us.
He will be gone soon though and I wish him luck. If he does not improve his goalscoring ability he will need it
Definately replaceable. Arshaving for me, he did tail off in the Spain game but overall I thought he looked like one of the players of the Tournament

Which is the bigger joke league… The French one or the Dutch one? Tough call… but Ade couldn’t score in the French league at all. Huntelaar is doing it internationally and he has been scoring record amounts of goals for dutch teams for the last 5 years.
All last season proves is that Ade had one good season… Marcus Stewart, Kevin Phillips, Ricketts… where are they all now?

with you on huntelaar pedro… he is not the Ade kind of striker… i think we wont need ade replacement… bendtner can do that job…. Huntelaar is a very good finisher… although I don’t see the killer instinct in him… he is not a trier…
The pitch wont be rosy for him in epl like in the dutch league……he just mite turn up like kezman…..
thats why someone like amauri/diogo/arshavin/nasri would “try” in all conditions favoring or unfavoring… ruud van is a great trier…..huntelaar isnt close to him…. i mean averaging 20 goals a season at manu and real is incomparable.

Ikon, as a late night watcher of dutch football in my uni days (0300 Channel 5) I can tell you that the dutch football pitches are shocking.
No killer instinct? He has scores 0.85 goals per game, that looks pretty killer to me! 8 goals in 13 for the Dutch as well… he is no mug.
Arshavin would be a good signing from what I have seen, but how you can say he is more suitable than Huntelaar is a bit confusing? Specially when you throw Diogo and Amauri in there!

Guys, I dont think anyone can doubt that Ade can score, what sicks out is the amount he misses - had he coverted half of those misses he would have nabbed 45+ and we would all be ranting on about how we must keep him.
I really couldn’t care less if he stays or goes as long as if it is the latter he is not replaced with a 16yrs old forward ‘with potential’ but with an awesome proved beastly sriker who would put the fear into all defenders - this Falcao fella is desribed as just that, and can use both feet - we lack a good two footed striker.
What if he does stay - are we fans going to give him a hard time???

Ethan, our midfield has changed several times but we’ve always been in the top 2 or 3 teams in terms of creating chances, therefore all the strikers should score 50 goals each. Nasri is a creative player, Cesc is still there, Flamini didn’t create chances, but Rosicky should also be back & that adds more creativity, so realistically our midfield should be better than last season!!

On Asenal Tv fans forum last nite. Lofty said that he works for a radio station on a saturday and they interviewed Ade when he went back to Togo to get his player of the year award.

Every striker goes through periods of not scoring. It happened to Henry as well, the fact is somebody else should have been capable of stepping up & taking over from him but they didn’t. If we lose our 30 goal striker & keep the others, then what are we left with?? A load of rubbish that can’t score goals.
If he sells Ade then we need a PROVEN replacement, not some slow moving player like Huntelaar who’s not considered good enough to even get in the dutch team ahead of a past it player like RVN. Villa is the same, great in spain where its all played at a slow rate & his pace doesn’t matter, but it won’t work here.
