I see there’s another scare mongering article in the mirror, saying how Arsenal can’t compete, how we desperately need to sell to Usmanov & that the Highbury square project isn’t going to bring in the money we need blah, blah, blah!!
Its SO boring listening to them go on. Something that I was told a while ago now is that the credit crunch is a concern to Arsenal but only until next year. Arsenal took out a 125 million pound loan for the Highbury Square & also for facilities for the board most of which has a great interest rate, the term of the loan is 38 months which means its repayable in Sept 2009. Thats the only worry they have, if numerous people withdraw from completing their purchases at Highbury square the club would have to cover the cost of the 125 million repayment in one hit or would somehow have to refinance it (which wouldn’t be so easy in the current climate). That may even be why they have played down the 70million transfer budget. Come January 2010 (as the transfer window will be shut by the time they have to repay the 125 million in 2009) Arsenal will know exactly where they stand & will then be able to compete with any club (barring Chelski) for a player!!
I just don’t understand why the press keep insisting we’re broke, we aren’t. Besides all this there is no chance it’ll take 17 years to pay off the stadium, not one person has mentioned the fact that both our kit supplier & kit sponsorship deals will both come up for renewal in the next 6 years. With the stadium we now have & with our global branding we’ll get massive deals with companies that will make our current ones look like chicken feed. Those alone will pay off any remaining debt!!

How did it feel? The only thing I felt was my face smashing into the dirt! It wasn’t a stretcher, it was a wheelchair and my arms were strapped in. As they wheeled me round the corner the chair got stuck in the pitch and as they were so old they didn’t have the strength to stop me falling, so they let me go, so my face hit the track. In the pouring rain, in front of Liverpool fans. I was annoyed at the time, but looking back it’s funny.

I read recently that Wenger considers Eboue an Parlour type of player, not many goals (well, for Eboue read not ANY goals) but he brings something different to the midfield.
