Never mind greaseball, Cesc is the best player on the planet

Anyone watching last nights game were witnessing the emergence of the new best player on the planet, he changed the game, he worked his magic like no-one has in this championships, he was simply awesome.

Well done Cesc, you made us proud and very glad you play for the Arsenal. Arse shavin on the other hand did his best to get his transfer value down, I had to check to see if he was still on the pitch.

I expect Cesc will get a long break and may well miss the early pre season, just as well we don’t have any Germans or any more Spanish players in our team.

Pay him what he wants boss, but having said that, you probably already do, but don’t give Ade any more, he agreed a deal last year, make him understand what a contract is or sell him, I wonder if Robin or Tomas offered to pay Arsenal back any money for their inactivity? We know the answer of course, but that’s why we have contracts, if you happen to play well you can’t go back for more - any more than you can do the opposite should you have a shit season.

Players must respect contracts, if they don’t we’ll have football’s version of anarchy, if of course we don’t already.

A lot has been written on Ade and should we replace him if he leaves, but I don’t think Wenger will, he has Vela and that I think will be enough for him.

My fear is the centerback situation, I think we are in dire need of a good centre half if not two and Wenger’s stubborness is worrying, if we strengthened up at the back, we’d beat anyone, a fit Robin up top will tear the chavs and the mancs a new arsehole, but with Phil and Gallas at the back we always run the risk of conceding a soft goal, so I’m going to be controversial today and say we don’t necessarily need to replace Ade but we do need to shore up at the back.

I would replace Ade by the way, I’m just saying I don’t think he will, I just hope if he does it’s a Podolski or a Benzema and not a Martens or a Crouch.

I know you don’t always listen to us Arsene, but I think you should on the defensive worries.

If there is any justice in football then a big win for the Spanish is on the cards, but as we all know at Arsenal, it doesn’t always work out like that, does it?

    benzema no chance…
crouch i would strangle myself if he comes… anyways pool turned down a 10 million offer from portsmouth i think….

if wenger pays more than that for crouch i will have to more than strangle myself.

    ahhhh “The joy of cees”!!!!!!!

    The joy of cesc

  10. Arsenaldo Says:

Agree with all in the blog 2day. Secs is their most creative player, but crazy Aagones wont see it . Nevermind he will be history and be replaced after the final and IM sure with the next spain coach Sesc will be 1st choice

  11. gunner_fever Says:

    lol its ok arsenaldo

    cheers

  12. kenyan gooner Says:

morning all.Im so happy for cesc.Call it fate but villas injury came at the right time. However i can only hope the germans will not manmark him as that would likely result in him being injured by the sloppy tackles.Love arsenal

  13. Pedro Says:

    Funny video!

Does the Villa injury not set alarm bells ringing in anyones head? Not another injury prone striker… he was injured all last year!

I hope Cesc starts the final… what a tournament he is having!

Well, Wenger will be back soon… he can start signing some players!

Anyone read about the Platini thing? He is talking about banning the Mancs and the Chavs for their debt!

  14. stonroy Says:

Please don’t mention Crouch or Martins again. For the love of god just let that one pass away into nothing

  15. andy c Says:

cesc and torres could rip the germans apart, the centre backs are like old men! It will be a shame if if is on the bench, he could come on and score a winner though, then just watch his crazy goal face!

  16. stonroy Says:

Tottenham agreed a deal worth £7 million with PSV Eindhoven last night to sign Heurelho Gome. This was seriously a player we should have gotten. Arsene just doesn’t know defense, it’s not his strength.

  17. Pedro Says:

He doesn’t understand defence you’re quite right, irritating isn’t it???

  18. Matt Says:

    Cesc was amazing!

I also have a feeling that Wenger wont replace Ade but he has to. We know Robin could easily score as much as Ade in a season if he was to be fit but he never is.

10mill for crouch is fucking insane, didnt benitez say he wants 16? Thats as much as HENRY! I will kill myself if crouch joins, but i highly doubt he will.

Benzema would be great but theres no way Wenger would shell out what Lyon want for him. I also have a feeling Wenger would go for someone older… It could be Villa or Santa Cruz. Villa because hes for sale and Santa Cruz because hes got prem expierence. Villa would have scored 50 goals last season if he had the same service as Ade had.
God i hope we sign Villa, him and Cesc together would be unstoppable!

  19. Big Raddy Says:

    Morning.

How fanastic was last night. And fair play to Aragones for replacing a striker with Fab4.

Cesc looked brilliant playing further forward than he does for us. Something new for AW to think about?

  20. Geoff Says:

So Eto’o is on the transfer list eh? interesting!

  21. stonroy Says:

If there was one player I could ask for, just one, it would be Julian Lescott..

  22. stonroy Says:

    Oh and Gomes.

  23. Arsenal Tom Says:

lescott is quality… and everton need transfer money to!!!

  24. gunner_fever Says:

    lol isnt it joleon lescott

  25. ikon Says:

doigo would be fine for me…. and zapata… and arshavin

  26. kenyan gooner Says:

i told u guyz gomez the keeper was good.he was brilliant against us in the champs legue last season but one.

  27. timao Says:

I’d just like to say that due to the content of some of my previous posts I may have given the impression that I thought AW should sign Arshavin immediately and that Arshavin was certainly the best footballer ever seen since Maradonna. I now realise that these comments were made in error and that Arshavin is a useless waste of space who shouldn’t even get a game for Blackpool Reserves. Apologies for any confusion this may have caused.

  28. stonroy Says:

Yeah i think you’re right. But if he came to Arsenal i would demand he changed it to Julian.

  29. stonroy Says:

I honestly think that Almunia doesn’t have the confidence to go through a whole season. Who would be our back up if he had a crisis? Fabianski, no way.

  30. gunner_fever Says:

stonroy would jolion sound better :P

  31. MARK GOONER Says:

durham is a shocking “journalist” he hates us with a passion and chats shit about our players (even th14) we need to start a petition to get him off air

WE GOT CESC FABREGAS WE GOT CESC FABREGAS WE GOT CESC FABREGAS WE GOT CESC FABREGAS WE GOT CESC FABREGAS WE GOT CESC FABREGAS

  32. stonroy Says:

If he was the leading goalscorer in the PL for a defenceman like last season, he could call himself whatever the fuck he wants.

  33. kenyan gooner Says:

The russians are inconsistant.Remmember Jarosik n Kezman for the chavs!

  34. Arsenal Tom Says:

maybe julie for short??? he woul dbe good tho!!

  35. dennisdamenace Says:

Mark G - Don’t you think that fuckwit Durham bares an uncanny resemblance to that kids TV presenter who hung himself recently after his girlfriend died………….apparently that TV presenter dood was an al-round good fella, no justice in the world Grovers…………..Durham should do the honourable thing and fucking die!

  36. AR Says:

I think if we do sell Ade, Arsene has to look within the PL to replace him. We cant afford the time it would take to intergrate a new striker into the team. But my fear is that if we sell him, Arsene wont replace him like you said.

  37. gnarleygeorge9 Says:

If Lescott joins, he’s got to do something about his hair. Now i know he was in a car accident when he was a little tacker, but he could go skin head like Phil Senderos

  38. iceman Says:

people. theres no way evertone are gonna sell lescott. we should have got him from woles. it was on the cards then. if ade goes i really hope we get villa too.

  39. ikon Says:

fuck… iniesta man of match?????? wat the hell!!!!!!!

  40. kenyan gooner Says:

gnarley how about Ade going skinhead.lol

  41. Arsenal Tom Says:

    DDM…

Mark G - Don’t you think that fuckwit Durham bares an uncanny resemblance to that kids TV presenter who hung himself recently

mate i couldnt agree more i actually thought it was him and had to read it to see why he was getting a mention!!!
mark speight his name was! hopefully durham will follow in his long lost brother footsteps some time soon

  42. gnarleygeorge9 Says:

Ade with skin head would be better than those Bo Derek braids he had. he looked like a hippee then.

  43. Pedro Says:

Eto’o has surely got to worth a punt if Ade leaves… maybe even if he doesn’t! You can never have too many good players right?

So here is my prediction… We will make 2 signings next week. Pre season starts on July 7th… Wenger will want a settled squad… so he’ll sort everything next week!

    Who is with me! haha!

Stonroy… Almunia is a solid keeper these days. Can you think of many errors he made last year? He is good shot stopper, good distributor and he has the respect of the defence. Unless we sign Iker from Madrid or Buffon from Juve… we wont get better.

Gomez is a dodgy character… He is tall and a national keeper, but he is not as good as Almunia.

Look at that silly season list… what a joke!

  44. gnarleygeorge9 Says:

…..and while I’m on it Bacary Sagna needs to get rid of those beads as well.

  45. dennisdamenace Says:

Arsenal Tom - Well said fella, in fact you know i feel a petition coming on, hmmmm the ‘Durham must Die’ petition……………….

  46. Geoff Says:

Cameroon boss Otto Pfister has revealed Arsenal and Chelsea are chasing Barcelona’s want-away striker Samuel Eto’o.

“Eto’o’s goals against Tanzania [in a World Cup qualifier] were in a class of their own,” he told Kicker.

“I do not know why Barca want to let him go. It’s incomprehensible!

“[But he's not on the streets?] No, no. He is the best striker in the world and can choose between Chelsea, Arsenal and Inter.

“Incidentally, I would like Eto’o in attack with Adebayor. I have trained both of them and know what the guys have. Because they would set the air alight!”

  47. gnarleygeorge9 Says:

That Guiza geezer looks more like a spanish waiter than Big Al. I bet he’s got tatts.

  48. ArsenalKenya Says:

    CESC IS GREAT

BUT READ THIS FROM MICHAEL PLATINI ……………………………

Big four threatened with Euro ban

Uefa president Michel Platini has warned England’s top clubs that they face being banned from the Champions League if they continue to build up huge debts.

Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool all boast severe debts due to the financial management of their owners, while Arsenal are currently repaying loans for the funding of Emirates Stadium.

Platini insists it is unfair that clubs with such debts continue to go out and spend big money on players, and he is actively looking to stop it happening.

“Uefa is going to fight to regulate access to its competitions for clubs who are in debt,” Platini revealed.

“I am not just talking about United and Chelsea, who got to last season’s Champions League final with a big debt, I am speaking in general.”

Cristiano Ronaldo’s proposed £80 million move to Real Madrid sparked Platini’s revelations, but he insists he is not against big-money transfers.

“If a club has money and wants to invest in a player it has every right to do so.

“I am more worried about a club that is in debt and spending £10 million on a player. We are going to regulate this.”

  49. iceman Says:

kenyan….ade skinhead would be a lankier akon!!!

  50. Mark C Says:

Gomes is not the keeper for Brazil.

Whilst he is tall he is not great in the air.

He will have fun playing behind a leaky Spurs defence

  51. gnarleygeorge9 Says:

Geoff, Et’o would be good, & I reckon his old mate TH14 would help to push him North London way.

  52. Pedro Says:

I don’t think he is talking about Arsenal…

We would be exempt from that anyway I think… Arsenal Holdings is a seperate entity to the club I think?

He is right though… I wouldn’t imagine Chelsea would be that worried though… it just means Roman has to sacrifice a yacht or something?

  53. Mark C Says:

I think Fabregas has been the player of the Euros, even though he has come off the bench 4 times now.

he has set up soo many goals, and scored as well.

lets hopw he does not start for Spain again

  54. Pedro Says:

Mark… I am pretty sure he is the Brazil Keeper… I’ve watched him play for Brazil against Argentina.

  55. kenyan gooner Says:

i bet ade going skinhead would look better than gallas last season

  56. stonroy Says:

Almunia made several mistakes in the final Chelsea game. He should have stopped Drogba’s shot. We should have beaten Manure at home, he came off his line and gift wrapped that goal for them. I think the back four like him, probably think he is a great guy, But he does not lead them. Crazy Jens no matter what you felt about him, he led that back four. I feel this Gomes would be the same, he has that crazy side to him which I like.
One final thing about Almunia, he saved the shots you expected him to save, but hardly ever the ones you hoped he would save. (minus the great penalty stop)… I think we deserve better.

  57. kenyan gooner Says:

    how abou boruc!crazy enough!

  58. choy Says:

    the CESC FABREGAS SHOW……

he does have the most assists right?

  59. patthegooner Says:

Does anyone know what is going on with Nasri

France have been out for over a week, and Marseille have signed Ben Arfa

What on earth is the holdup?

  60. GMR Says:

Arsenalkenya, that would also mean them kicking out the likes of AC Milan & Real Madrid, so it’ll never happen. If it did the competition would die because most clubs live on credit.

Besides which they wouldn’t be able to ban Arsenal FC. The football club doesn’t have any debt its Arsenal Holdings which does & they are seperate companies. Also Arsenal don’t have any debt at all through player purchases as they make a profit annually from sales, the only debt is the stadium & they couldn’t ban you from a competition for effectively having a mortgage. They would be laughed out of court.

Not sure how Liverpool & Man Utd would get on but Abramovich would just write off the money chelski owe him & therefore they’d have no debt remaining. Its just a drop in the ocean to him.

  61. RuudTheDiver Says:

    excellent video :D

  62. choy Says:

    pat..

the news is that wenger is going to introduce a couple of signings together after the Euros!!

  63. GMR Says:

patthegooner, you won’t have too long to wait. He is posting some news on his website (an interview) next tuesday & even if that doesn’t tell us anything I think its safe to assume that if the deal isn’t done by next Wednesday then its dead.

  64. kenyan gooner Says:

wea did u hear get that choy?

  65. GMR Says:

choy, isn’t that yours & Rico’s wishful thinking??

  66. choy Says:

    wishful thinking!!! lol ;)

  67. Geoff Says:

It’s like Platini just hates the English, he’s jealous of us, but I agree that clubs going into massive debt is wrong, that will fuck the Spanish up, they have to be in debt, they pay fuck all for their tickets.

  68. stonroy Says:

When Red nose leaves Manure, that club is going to go into the financial shitter.

  69. stonedwasherman Says:

I hate to agree with the man, but I think Platini does have a point there. Clubs like the ManCunts and the Chavs have a very murky business model which only hampers the game imo..
That said, we gooners need not worry because the debts due to the stadium are on course to be repaid by 2010 at the latest.

  70. timao Says:

Platini is a fucking lunatic. It wouldn’t surprise me if he took a shit in the centre circle before the kick off on Sunday.

  71. david Says:

    Morning all.

Cesc was super last nite, I thought the best way to describe him was when Ronaldo plays he looks great, but when Cesc plays 10 players look great!

But the better he plays it attracts the rats in from Spain, Would Arsenal say know to £75 million???

  72. timao Says:

    I don’t no

  73. stonroy Says:

Cesc fabregas is not for sale at any price.

  74. stonroy Says:

I haven’t loved an Arsenal player as much as Cesc since the Iceman.

  75. timao Says:

good analogy tho david, Cesc’s arrival changed the Russians from a team that beat Holland to a team that couldn’t beat Wales

  76. ikon Says:

stonroy evthing u said abt almunia….. spot on!!!

i too feel we shall see fabianski between sticks if almunia makes 1-2 mistakes….just like jens was displaced by almunia.

And just like even if guys like carvalho, terry, vidic are not monsters…still they are the best in their trade… i feel fabianski is much better than almunia….even if he is not physically intimidating.

but where the hell is zapata?? no news no agent talks…. surely its us who are involved…otherwise its never this quiet.

  77. ikon Says:

75 millions …. not cescish enf!!

  78. david Says:

Wenger could pay for one side of Le Emirates and get Tom Huddlestone in for £75 million!!

And Peter Crouch could decorate his house in Crown plus Two with the money over..

  79. Big Raddy Says:

Stonroy agree whole heartedly re Almunia.

If we sign YaYa we don’t need another CB. Our problems lie with organisation, and clearing the second ball.

  80. finestcuts Says:

Fabregas is the future and he’s an Arsenal man. Had it not been for his playmaking, would Adebayor have scored so many goals? We’ve got Fabregas, and any player who loves football as well as getting paid will want to play on the same team as him.
I’m tired of Lehmann complaining about not getting as many games as he would have liked, Lehmann pal, your reflexes aren’t as good as they used to be, you’ve got you front line to thank for your place in the final.
May the best team win the Euro, in my eyes Spain have the better claims to be favourites.
Lehmann, I know you’d be happy to represent Arsenal but you no longer do, and spitting on your way out isn’t big or clever.
    Fabregas represents Arsenal.

  81. stonroy Says:

What do you all think of getting Yossi Benayoun as backup for 6-7 million. I rate him.

  82. Big Raddy Says:

I am off on holiday to Italy for 6 weeks.

    Have a wonderful summer chaps,

    And keep the Faith

    Up the Gunners

  83. gnarleygeorge9 Says:

I don’t want to sound like a negative sod, but i think Cesc will eventually go back to Spain’s league. So in the mean time I hope he sets us up for 10 Titles in a row, plus a couple of champions league, 4 even, and an F A Cup or two. Go Cesc :)

  84. david Says:

You lucky bugger big R, have a nice break mate!

  85. The Arsenist Says:

I think Wenger will sign a striker if Ade leaves. We’ve made a bid for Diogo, and have strong links to Eto’o and Mario Gomez. But I agree, a centre back should be the priority. Does Wenger’s faith in Senderos have no limits? Gallas and Toure are individually excellent, but limited as a partnership.

  86. finestcuts Says:

Gnarley, Fabregas is living his dream, not until he’s done at Arsenal.

  87. gnarleygeorge9 Says:

See you later Big Raddy, While you’re in Italy, your Prince & Princess of Denmark will be down here with us. Its not Christania, but there is plenty of it where she is going to stay on our east coast :)

  88. finestcuts Says:

They have net cafes in Italy Raddy, you can always pop on if you fancy a bit of pre-season stress ;)

  89. ikon Says:

anyone from top 6 sides in epl has no chance of coming to emirates…. purely coz of the inflated transfer amount… so benayoun at 6-7 millions is just not possible.

I really would want silva to come though… more so coz even if the better prospect that arshavin is… he looks almost certain to join barca.

Silva looks class…… amazing left foot.

  90. gnarleygeorge9 Says:

You know I’m getting that warm glow i had similar to Viera to Petit, GOAL! in the ‘98 World Cup Final.

Pedro Julio Cesar was in goal for Brazil

  97. gnarleygeorge9 Says:

bergy, that goal he scored could have been Eduardo, with the poise. Would he be prepared to sit on the bench for Arsenal?

  98. Pedro Says:

    Mark…

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/internationals/5310364.stm

    Check that one!

It may have changed since then though…

  99. GMR Says:

I wouldn’t be too surprised to see Wenger go in for Silva.

I think Crouch could be good for us, he holds the ball up well & could play a big part with the likes of Walcott & Vela. Whilst he clearly isn’t the skillful player we’ve all come to expect at Arsenal he could add something different.

Its not a problem anyway as Wenger won’t sign him under any crcumstances.

  100. Pedro Says:

Sorry Bergy, you post of a previously banned IP… you must be using a proxy server or something…

You are good to go now!

I haven’t seen a lot of Silva, but he gets rave reviews and he scores some pretty amazing goals!

Who has some La Liga knowledge?

  101. bergy Says:

we would have quite a bench if he were to join.

we dont know how long before rosicky breaks down again…

Rosiky.“To lose the crutches has been a great relief. For six weeks after the surgery I was strictly ordered not to make a single movement without the crutches. Now that is over, but I will not remember it kindly”

“Wednesday was the first time I walked without any support. It is nothing great, but at least I can walk. I am stumbling and getting used to it. After a long time without proper movements, my knee is stiff. It just needs time.”

“In a few days I am flying to England. In London there is a more sophisticated rehabilitation schedule waiting for me. I don’t know what it will be like, but at least I will be doing something at last. I am sure the Arsenal specialists have thought it through well.”

  104. Mark C Says:

that is from 06 and they had Kaka on the bench.

  105. patthegooner Says:

I dont think you could put a price on Cesc’s head at the moment. i would not be happy if we accepted 100m for him.

I think we have 3 players, who in my mind are probably the best in their position in the World.

Clichy, Sagna and Cesc. everyone else is replaceable

Of those I honestly think that Cesc has the potential to go down in history at the same level as Pele, Maradona and Perry Groves.

Loved his comment about Barcelona the other day too, the guy has got that Arsenal spirit in him now like Adams and Henry before him.

  106. gnarleygeorge9 Says:

Perry Groves????? When I used to watch from the North bank, poor old Perry took a hammering from the faithfull.

  107. Pedro Says:

Are you sure Mark… I watched Kaka run the length of the pitch and score a goal that day? He was awesome…

So Milan are after Ronnie now… and Ade is the back up!

  108. gnarleygeorge9 Says:

Mind you I’ll never forget Perry’s run down the wing & cross to Merson I think it was who scored against France. 2-0 on a Tuesday night. Now that night was bitterly cold :(

  109. Dobbi Says:

Cesc is the best player in the world! If we loose Ade we’re f*cked! Vela, RvP, can’t lead the line, they’ll play off the main striker, which is Ade at the moment. Bendtner can do it, but he’s not there yet! If Ade goes we need to get another CF (not Crouch or Martins though.. both are a joke).

  110. ikon Says:

as talented as cesc is having an insanely matured head on his shoulders will see him rated as the best players ever…… his vision is like no one else….. seems he has eyes all around his head.

wenger was right when he said cesc has the vision of platini.

If we are to lose H-Leb (as Pleaty calls him) we should seriously look to David Silva before Valencia get their finances in order! He looked like he could form an awesome partnership with Cesc!
A Centre-Back is a must - if Man U get Ramos as part of the Ronal-doh deal we should make Micah Richards our prime target - the lad has pace to burn and will only get better playing next to Super Kolo!

Cant believe this! First Henry…If he has called a news confrence to say he is staying I will go and buy a shirt with his name on today. If he’s going i’ll crap in my calvins. not Gomez, Bentender or that guy at Blackburn can replace him.

  120. YangKamp10 Says:

Later this hour…Could be anytime between now any 1pm. Typical Ade, his timing has always been suspect…

Agree tom, who calls confrences to say, “i got a new job!” David Brent?

but thats about it i guess…

  121. patthegooner Says:

    Yep seeing the ticker myself

Whats your gut feeling then guys

I dont think it is an official Arsenal conference.

I just think he would have put it on the website again if he was staying as it would not really be news. A conference usually means something big

  122. arsenal tom Says:

i reckon hes staying mate…. not often we’d publicise loosing one of our biggest players… its probably (im hopeing) a new deal announcment

  123. YangKamp10 Says:

Yeah, maybe he’s realised the error of his ways and decided to grow his hair again.

That haircut cost us the title.

  124. Arsenaldo Says:

  125. Arsenal Tom Says:

ha! well atleast we’ll know whats happening soon, it’ll be ‘im off’ or ‘ive signed a new deal, very happy etc’

hopfully the later, seeing as ronnie is being linked to AC again

  126. Paulinho Says:

Oh bollocks, the ego had landed in London. Mr. Crap first touch thinks he is going to appease every Arsenal fan by signing a new contract. Yawn.

  127. Paulinho Says:

If he was leaving he would have slipped out the back door. Can’t believe the twat thinks he is so important as to hold a press conference. I can’t stand him!

  128. jules Says:

uhmm , sky sports news say , ade news conference up !!!

Wonder if the will anounce Nasri as well ?!!

  129. chris Says:

he is staying, or more accuratly AW is not selling him, he will tell us that he is loyal to the fans and the club,
too fucking right we need to build a team and not sell/lose players

  130. YangKamp10 Says:

If he is staying Chris, you might be right that we are not selling and therefore he has decided to come out and be all loyal. That said I heard he was in Togo recently…this might be his first chance to addess the matter.

Hope he comes out wearing a t-shirt saying “Fuck Milan and Barca”

  131. dennisdamenace Says:

  149. patthegooner Says:

  150. Paulinho Says:

This is what we get when we sing “Adebayor, Adebayor, give him the ball and he will score” over and over again. The fucker thinks he is Elvis.

The only guy at Arsenal that should be pulling this stunt is Cesc. He is the real legend.

  151. Arsenal Tom Says:

david… that wasnt his agent to be fair…

it was helbs ice cream mate!!! and the guy who said we were talking with aquilani… he’s basically an italian football agent/ club rent boy who does anything for money

    http://sport.setanta.com/en/Sport/News/Football/2008/06/27/Premier-League-Adebayor-on-future/

  153. david Says:

    Tom I read this,

    Morabito Ade’s agent said

“Until that search ends the deal won’t move forward but I am quite optimistic because Arsenal are looking for a player. They’re talking about (Mario) Gomez, (Roque) Santa Cruz, and (Peter) Crouch.

  154. ArsenalKenya Says:

Emmanuel Adebayor has told a news conference that he will be staying at Arsenal this season, despite reports linking the Togo star with both Milan and Barcelona.

Adebayor scored 30 goals for The Gunners last season and it had been feared he would follow Mathieu Flamini out of the Emirates Stadium exit door, with Alexander Hleb also expected to leave North London.

However, the popular striker has now put all speculation to bed by revealing he will be at the forefront of Arsene Wenger’s title challenge next season.

    More to follow…

  155. gnarleygeorge9 Says:

Ade! family? Yeah sometimes by brother pisses me off, but I seem to forgive him. Now, my brothers Ade & Cesc, How about some silverware.

  156. YangKamp10 Says:

Not seen the press confrence yet…Not been shown yet…

Funy that on the same Morning Eto’o has decided to “stay” at Barca.

  157. gnarleygeorge9 Says:

Ohhhhhh I’m getting that warm glow again. Better go and have a nice cold beer to cool me down. Good on you Togo Termite :)

  158. Geoff Says:

  159. Arsenal Tom Says:

  160. dennisdamenace Says:

    Adebysnorrrrrrrrrrrr…………

  161. Arsenal Tom Says:

    from bbc…

Emmanuel Adebayor has ended speculation about his immediate future by announcing he is staying at Arsenal.
The Togo striker, who scored 30 goals in 48 games for Arsenal last season, has been a target for both Italian side AC Milan and Catalan club Barcelona.
But the 24-year-old said in Vienna on Friday: “I am an Arsenal player and have three years left on my contract.
“The most important thing for me is to keep on enjoying my football. I’m staying at Arsenal.”

  162. david Says:

I read it in a couple of places here is one Tom..

    http://www.inthenews.co.uk/News/autocodes/premiership-teams-2006-2007/arsenal/adebayors-agent-claims-striker-close-ac-milan-move-$1229212.htm

  163. Geoff Says:

I heard it from his mouth he said ‘of course I’m staying I have a good contract and 3 years left on it’

    Good for you Ade.

  164. Pedro Says:

Well, he laid it down… he seemed a bit pissed off… but Geoff reckons that is a language thing…

    ‘I have a 3 year contact… so I have to stay.’

He also said he was playing for the biggest club and he loves it here.

Good on ya Ade… Bring on next season or the Hleb press conference!

  165. dennisdamenace Says:

like him or loathe him (Ethan where are you fella) at least he came out and said what he’s doing - puts into question his agents intergrity though eh?

  166. david Says:

So we can report Milan to FIFA now because there was no link with Milan and he never wanted to leave..

  167. Mark C Says:

Interesting that Ade will see out the 3 years on his contract.

So there is no new contract for him to sign, or he does not want to sign the one we have offered him.

    This is all mind games.

  168. chris Says:

he is staying, end of, reading context is kind of irrelevant as he has said three times this summer he was staying,
if he gets 30 plus next season, give what ever teh fuck he wants

  169. Matt Says:

    Crack open the champers Ethan!

    Ethan??

  170. dennisdamenace Says:

  173. david Says:

Tom I think you may be right his agent is Stephane Courbis ..
The site I read was telling porkies..

  174. Geoff Says:

Ethan must have gone on his holidays or something, yesterday he would have been in Ozzie heaven, today in Ozzie hell, he’ll need our support over the coming months!

  175. choy Says:

lol.. now what about hleb.. is he going to stay as well?

  176. Odub Says:

    Ethan dont do it!!!

It’s good to talk, we can help!! lol!!

Good on Ade to give the Prs conf, but wasnt it a bit dramatic?!!

Agree choy, CB and DM, and we’re on our way!

  177. choy Says:

i can imagine the size of his ego…. odub…!!!!

  178. david Says:

Stop press Ade has changed his mind!!!!!

  179. gnarleygeorge9 Says:

Geoff, Ethan is in Thailand, but he might as well be an expat Aussie he spent so much time here. Pom originally though, and Arsenal first. Great news, I wonder what hairstyle Ade will have for the WBA game?

  180. david Says:

  184. david Says:

    GG9 I am not mate!!

  185. chris Says:

Gunners’ Greatest Players - 16. David Rocastle

  186. chris Says:

“I am an Arsenal player and have three years left on my contract,” he said. “The most important thing for me is to keep on enjoying my football. I’m staying at Arsenal.”

Praising the spirit of his team-mates in the young Emirates dressing room and the guidance of Arsène Wenger, he added: “You have a chance to play in a team where everyone is between 21-26 years old, we are all the same generation. We all have the same ideas, we go out together after games to restaurants.”

“We all have the same ideas and we all want to achieve something. We have a good boss which is Arsène Wenger, he tries to bring this atmosphere to the dressing room where we feel like brothers and like family. Those are the reasons that give us a chance to play the football we play. We play good football, now we look forward to winning trophies.”

Adebayor’s statement comes the day after his Italian agent Vincenzo Marabito said there was an “80% chance” he would move to Milan. The Italian club, who will not play in next season’s Champions League but who signed Mathieu Flamini from Arsenal in May, had previously claimed Adebayor is their sole remaining transfer target

  187. choy Says:

    lol david care to explain?

  188. Odub Says:

    Rocky Rocky Rocky Rocastle.

  189. david Says:

  190. patthegooner Says:

  193. david Says:

A hour after that interview . he was asked again about Ac milan and he said it will be decided next week..

  194. Paulinho Says:

Nothing has changed really. Ade is trying to get a bumper new contract and is waiting for Arsenal to stump off.

My view on Ade? Fuck off you talentless ego-driven tosser!

  195. Paulinho Says:

    *stump up*

  196. patthegooner Says:

One of two things are going on here

Either Adebayor is in fact a fucking penis and is playing off the club in the media to get more money

or he is a top bloke that Arsenal have decided to cash in on, hence his words about loving the club but his future would be decided next week

  197. gnarleygeorge9 Says:

Well David, I don’t know what to say. Talk about fickled. What has Ade got between his ears? Marbles????

  198. Odub Says:

    He’s the first one Pat!!

  199. Pedro Says:

Show me where he said that, I just saw him saying he’s going nowhere, I think you’re telling porkies!

  200. david Says:

  201. top_gooner_stow Says:

FFS this is doing my head in! I dashed home from work to see him announce he was staying on SSN! Thought it was a very brief interview though! Grrrrrrrrrrrrr

  202. Odub Says:
