YaYa or Dos Santos swap, who would you choose?

by & filed under Uncategorized.

Ok still no news but yesterdays hot rumours were that we are swapping Hleb for YaYa Toure and cash, we may well be thinking that way but I would sooner swap Hleb for Both Dos Santos and YaYa plus cash.

YaYa could fill the Vieira role, of that I have no doubt, he’s big at 6’3″ and doesn’t appear to have the same injury problems as Diaby does and would be a lot cheaper than my first choice Gareth Barry.

It’s looking more and more like the Barry for Hoyte plus cash deal won’t happen, why? is beyond me, as that would solve the problem of Flamini’s loss and Hoyte’s bit part role for us.

Two saints, AKA Dos Santos looks the dogs to me, his best friend is Vela and they could be our new second string wing force, behind Rosicky and Theo, we will need four this season through inevitable injuries and to compete in all the cups.

If the Spuds get him I’ll be gutted, I really rate this boy. The up side of signing YaYa is he’ll play even better when he’s with his brother – and so will Kolo.

The Septic Bladder thing won’t fly, it’s against the EU constitution, simple as that, it can’t fly legally, however they package it.

Remember, if it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, the chances are it is a duck, enough said, it’s a duck and it’s dead in the water.

I have to say I feel very let down by Arsene, the fact is he said we’d all be pleased and it will happen in 2 to 3 weeks, so we trusted him, just like all the AKB’s did, well Arsene, you once again didn’t deliver, how hard can it be to spend £25 million? you simply ask a player if he wants to play for the Arsenal and he says yes or he says no, if it’s anything else move on, he’ll be trouble.

You didn’t win trophies for 3 years, we can kind of except that as you were building, but to tell us you’re finally spending and then don’t, is wrong, we’ve been so looking forward to something, and we get nothing.

I hope you got paid well for all your commentating and we didn’t get in the way, but my advice is hurry up mate or all the good players would have gone… …to spurs.

Have a hopeful Domingo Grovers, El Tel like Arsene made us a promise! …just kidding El Tel.

Arsenal won’t announce a new signing on a Sunday. Doesn’t mean photos won’t take place today.

    Woah fella! Too much information.

  3. Ash

I think Nasri’s photograph at 2pm story is rubbish. I checked the French football federation site too and it has nothing about players having a day off today or Nasri released from the group. In fact they are playing 3 against 3 ball tennis games. Maybe Domenech can release him later today

  4. Wrighty7

    Hi Pedro/Geoff and Le-Grovers,

    Good post!

I would love us to sign Yaya. he would provide a big physical presense and has looked good for Barca when I’ve watched him.

Diaby may play in the middle one day. I dont think he is ready yet.

He doesn’t tackle well and needs to learn when to release the ball at the right time. Sometimes he holds on to it for too long.

He hasn’t progressed as well as we would have liked but thats due to that long-term injury he suffered.

I think that he eventually will become a top top player though.

  5. ethangunner

no point in getting all up tight guys i dont think ive ever seen a announcement made on a sunday !

but if it hasnt happened by this time tomorrow break out the automatic weapons !

  6. Pedro

I don’t think he was ever being unveiled today… just having his picture taken.

So… I am bored of talking about Nasri. You all are.

    Topic change:

If Arsene was to leave in 3 years… who would you want to replace him?

    Discuss.

  7. Pedro

I watched that Eduardo video… he is doing some crazy stuff already!

I’d be nervous about resnapping it!

  8. brendon gunner

i’ve been pressing the refresh button over and over again every single day.
i’m getting too caught up in this Nasri deal.
and news now is a huge dissapointment.
    Argh!

Maybe, just maybe our signings hasnt happened yet because wenger is binging in homegrown players who are not involve the euro 08.
come on wenger give us Barry!

  9. Pedro

    Ok Pedro… Great question.

If I was thinking about employing a foreign manager, I’d want a manager who could recapture the magical football of Wenger. So if he was non EU it would be Scolari… if he was European it would be Van Gaal or Van Basten/Bergkamp… if he was British based… Moyes.

  10. Angry Loner

I always thought Paul Le Guen was gonna be Wengers natural successor, but he didnt exactly dp wpnders at rangers or PSG. His team’s play pretty football, so lets get him!

Seriously though, Michael Laudrup could be a good shout in 3 years time.

  11. rico01

Pedro – Frank Rickard with the mighty DB as his deputy (if PR is also gone)
    GK coach – spunky
Defence – Big Tony and Martin K

    Midfield coach – Grimandi!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  12. Ash

Dennis Bergkamp would be a good shot but we dont know whats he like as a manager yet but he must have learned alot from Wenger.

Michael Laudrup looks like a top manager in the making

  13. Pedro

Was Klinsman in charge of Bayern this year… or is he taking over in the summer?

Laudrup is a great shout… he has performed miracles!

I wonder if Big Frank is a one hit wonder? He did what he did at Barca with a shed load of cash… could he work under Arsenal restraints?

  14. Goonerman

If the 3 promoted teams from the Championship get £40m each how much will we get? Anyone have an idea?

  15. dennisdamenace

    Evening all,

    Nasrizzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz………………………

AW’s replacement, well now would be a good time to take someone on say Bergkamp/Adams as his number two and use the next three seasons in grooming him for the role.

  16. Wrighty7

    Pedro, I cant believe it!

I’ve just wrote an article about Dennis Bergkamp maybe becoming next Arsenal manager and come back to your site and see you’ve asked who you think should become next Arsenal manager!

    Ha ha!

  17. abdenor

My choice would be Dennis Bergkamp but i’m not sure if that’ll ever happen as Dennis stated himself recently that he’s only interested in becoming a #2, manager’s jobs are too stressfull he says.

Re Nasri , i am not excited about him , I will start getting excited when Wenger adds some defensive steel to the team.
I’ve no doubt he’ll be a world beater in 2 years time but i don’t think he’ll make a huge difference to Arsenal next season.

I reckon A couple of thugs is what we really need, one for CB and one for CM, 2 tall, agressive bruisers who would walk straight into the first 11. of the 38 Premier League fixtures this past season, we failed to score in only two. This fact seems lost on most of us, our proplem is keeping the back door shut , it’s something we have to address this summer otherwise all the good work elsewhere will be wasted.

We are as good as Man utd & better than Chelsea going forward ( infact we even outscored the Chavs when they won back to back titles), yet they finished above us last few years!

  18. davoody

Last call for your chance to board the silly train.

Departing 18:10 tonight…. arriving at destination August 31st.

  19. rico01

Im off guys, catch up on a sensible Monday when Nasri will hopefully be unveiled…..

Great day, but spoiled by some idiots,

Geoff, Pedro – have a beer for all your consistant good work – you give us all a ‘room’ to sit and debate – good on you both..

Lets not forget all the bloggers – well, most, have a beer and hope tomorrow FINALLY see’s Nasri as a Gooner

    Nite Nite …………………………

  20. patthegooner

Dos Santos is not the answer.

He is a good player but is only a baba and I think we need experienced class, especially if we have limited funding available.

If he comes as part of the Hleb deal then fine, but we really cant be spending 8-11m on him.

We need to be spending money on players that will be in the first choice 11

  21. Clint

What’s the point of discussing something which may or may not happen in 3 years time? Pointless topic. Three years is far too long away to predict, or even discuss a new manager.

  22. jimmyfingers

So no real news again today, but then it is a Sunday………..but boo hiss anyway

The Nasri thing seems done though so the summer seems to be shaping up thus:

Nasri in as wing/attacking midfield, then Yaya in exchange for Hleb, then Thuram as defensive cover/coach and then maybe a striker

So I reckon four in, two out which I think leaves us one or two short

    Opps I forgot Vela

So maybe those hypothetical 5 are enough? I’d prefer to see a younger centre-back in his prime but I think the Boss will keep faith with Senderos and Song. Ooh and Gallas to be fair

In the centre of the park Cesc really needs a strong partner and we don’t think Diaby or Denilson are up to it, do we? Yaya could be the option, or Veloso if we choose to spalsh the cash

With the arrival of Vela and Nasri, the recovery pf Rosisky and emergence of Walcott surely the width problems will be adressed. Suddenly lots of options other than sticking Diaby or Eduardo out of position there

Upfront Ade, Bendtner, RvP (if fit), Eduardo recovering fast and Theo and Vela also options and possibly another signing? That feels good to me

I realise squad depth was pointed at as our downfall but I still wonder whether it was more a lack of mental strength. Hleb and Flamini were both want away players and I’m sure the other players were aware. had we Fergie handing out hair-dryers I don’t think squad strength would have been an problem. A player like Thuram might bring that sort of focus and drive

I’m feeling a bit cup half-full today Grovers!

  23. Pedro

Evening Wrighty! I’ll be over for a read!

Clint… I guess the point of a blog is to discuss things that haven’t happened yet. We discuss arsenal.com sometimes and they only update the site once every 3 years…

I am sick to death of talking about Nazzzri (Cheers for the Pun DDM). A new manager is topical today.

So the chosen partnership is Bergkamp/Adams… Intelligence and Passion… I like it.

I would have liked to have seen Klinsman do a job which was hard… he should have taken over Bayern on a down turn… then we would have seen his pedigree… instead he takes over a well oiled machine.

    I’d hate Mourinho…

  24. Pedro

So Spurs are set to land Dos Santos for £6.2million… that seems like a bargain to me… and a mighty fine signing…

  25. jimmyfingers

Tony Adams for me, backed up by Dennis. Dennis can’t be a manager because he doesn’t fly, so no chance really.

Unless we copy the A Team and slip him a mickey in a glass of milk everytime we’re away in Europe

  26. MeM

Slavan Bilic should be the Arsenal manager when Wenger leaves. There is no other choice. I am sure pretty much all of you will agree. Top class guy and he has done wonders with croatia.

  27. Pedro

Hey, if ever there was a reason to sign world class players… it is this:

Van Persie, who was recovering from injury at the time, had several training sessions alongside Beckham and the pair began a professional friendship that has become deeply influential on the Arsenal player.

‘Beckham has been there and done it,’ said Van Persie.

‘When he trained with us I thought: “I am going to enjoy this and learn every minute”. We did a number of sessions together. They benefited were some of the best practice sessions I have ever done in my life.

‘David was so focused. Every ball, every touch and every run had to be perfect.

‘There was actually one shooting session where I thought: “Wow! We both know exactly where the other is going to place the ball”. Things really worked well between us. The level of our training was getting higher and higher. We spoke about the smallest details, like how many steps he takes back for a free-kick.

‘I used to swear by five steps behind the ball. Beckham told me he follows his instinct. Sometimes he takes 12 steps, sometimes three and sometimes one.’

Young players like training with the best…

  28. Pedro

I see that Dein has denied the Wenger story… and that we are after the hamburg holding player.

They’ve got some mighty fine players at the moment!

Wrighty, world class players inspire everyone… Getting on the train to Arsenal knowing you might get to watch Song developing doesn’t exactly set the pulse racing.

Bilic is a good shout MeM… does his scruffy appearance fit with us? Smoking on the touch line… ear ring? I don’t know whether PHW would dig that!

Jimmy… I think the mental toughness was diluted by key players playing too many games. The mancs could keep their players tough, our players had to play…

  29. MeM

Piotr Trochowski? He looks half decent. Nigel De Jong is also a great prospect. That Dutch lad Orlando Engelaar also looks top totty.

  30. Wrighty7

Nothing has happened Geoff. Its just another boring sunday!!!

Geoff/Pedro have either of you heard of some gadget called FEEDJIT?

I’ve just put it on my site and it says where you are getting your traffic from.

Did you know that t’internet go’s all over the world? Amazing!

    ;)

  31. Big Raddy

AW is going nowhere, but it is fun to speculate a replacement.

The Bilic call is really good.

As I have stated before, the Van Basten/DB10 is a dream ticket

But Klinsmann would be fantactic. What a kick in the Nads it would be for the Scum. One of their favourite sons going to the enemy !!!

So the German for me. And he did a brilliant job with the national WC team

  32. Roman

gooner talk are saying that we arent signing nasri till after the EURO’S!
    AHAKLFN DSIUGKN OSPAI;LNV FIOPA;LMFPIOW;LANFMIPOD;SLMAFOD;LSAMIFODS

  33. Geoff

Roman, what happened with the news conference, when I left it was looking good, I got off the plane and still no news! what does the Arsenal channel say?

  34. Wrighty7

Yeah I know! I’ll get one sorted.

    How do I do it?

Some news Geoff, I was in the bath and the old man shouted up to me that Eduardo could be back NEXT month!

He see it on Setanta news channel or Sky Sports, he cant remember!

    The guy is super-human!

  35. Big Raddy

that’s the point Geoff. But he could fuck us up, as Terry Neill did to them. The Spuds have never recoverd from his work.

And then there was GG ! How could the Spuds board sign a manager who has an Arsenal cannon imbedded into his Hampstead home’s drive ? Fools, the lot of them

  36. Wrighty7

Eduardo is super-human, not my dad. Although I used to think my Dad was when I were a wee little nipper, look at me rambling on………

  37. Geoff

he should share his secrets with Diaby, Robin and Rosicknote! Pedro will sort you, I’ll let him know!

  38. Pedro

Wrighty… nothing works on WordPress… We get quite a good break down of our hits though.

You should try google analytics for you site… its the most comprehensive analytics tool out there i think! It’s amazing what they can tell you.

Roman, if that is true… it’s a fucking shame and a poor move by Arsenal.

Van Basten and Bergkamp is my future team… imagine the calibre of players those two would attract!

  39. Big Raddy

Does it really matter when Nasri signd – as long as he does. To think of the amount of blooging hours devoted to this subject !

But I would love it if it were announced tomorrow. Just to get one ‘in the bank’ prior to the Euro’s

  40. patthegooner

    What a fucking joke

Arsenal boss Arséne Wenger told popular French radio station RMC on their live football talk show that “he hopes” Marseille midfielder Samir Nasri will become an Arsenal player after this summer’s European Championships.

Wenger, who has come under pressure from the majority of Gunners’ fans to make some signings in the current summer transfer window, is currently on holiday in Italy “relaxing” at a Merano health spa.

  41. Pedro

I love the runour mill… someone has come over from another site to get some qualification on a tiny piece of gossip!

We are mental… all Arsenal fans are mental!

That’s what happens when you are transfer starved for 3 years… you become ravenous…

  42. Geoff

One that has his job in the bag and can’t get sacked, call me Pedro, I can’t get through to you!

  43. juc343

Wenger has said that Samir nasri will not sign for Arsenal before Euro 2008 ends. (Wont sign before July)

  44. Geoff

bollocks, he’s an arrogant arsehole with no respect for us fans, give me his budget I’ll fucking sign them.

So he’ll have a great euro’s and then all the rest will come in, clever that, enjoy your spa.

  45. Moe

Totally agree with the blog, but i think spuds have agreed a deal but maybe the money gained from hleb out and yaya in can be spent on someone else. not sure if i totally agree about the Arsene comments tho…to me he’s doin well but wanna see rewards for our stylish play

  46. Mean Lean

    http://sport.setanta.com/en/Sport/News/Football/2008/06/01/Prem-Wenger-on-Nasri/

Nasri not before July – Wenger

Arsene Wenger has informed the French media that Samir Nasri will not sign for Arsenal before Euro 2008 ends.

The Gunners boss, currently resting at Merano’s health centre in Italy, has declared that the Marseille playmaker could play in North London next season, but he will not sign next week.

The attacking midfielder was expected to be transferred to the Premier League giants before the start of the European competition but Wenger, pushing for his signing, claims that the 21-year-old will not commit his future to Arsenal before July.

Nevertheless, the Alsatian boss remains optimistic about his chances to bring the France international to Emirates Stadium and was impressed by Nasri’s display during France’s friendly with Paraguay on Saturday night.

“Nasri, he interests me,” Wenger told RMC.

“I hope I will do it after the Euros.

“It is more complicated now because the wage differences [between the French and the English league] are not as big as they used to be.

“Just watch [Karim] Benzema. He is 20 and recently signed a new deal.

“It is very difficult [to transfer players from the French league] but England is considered one of the two top leagues and the best players want to play against the best players.”

  47. Angry Loner

Ken Deep ‘fat’ Friar is the dude sorting the contracts.

You can hardly slate Wenger for fooking off for a week when the fella eat, sleeps, shits and sneezes football.

Settle down, take a valium, thats an order

  48. gooner 4 lyf

no offence yh but ur steward was chatting a load of bullshit about a photoshoot i can see nasri not comin now and seriously am neva gonna cum an check out info on this forum boi wot a load of shit its official now our very own steward load of bollocks

  49. patthegooner

If Samir Nasri has a great Euros, He will NOT be signing for Arsenal

His value will rise and the big spenders will snap him up

Feeling really fucking re-assured now Wenger. Why say 2-3 weeks if you are not 99% confident of getting the players you were after.

So now we go into pre-season without the new players in place.

  50. GMR

So once again we have one target that doesn’t appear really interested in signing for us. Wenger as usual has no back up plan as proved by his hopeful stance that Nasri will sign after the Euro’s. Come August we’ll be rooting around for any leftovers & then he’ll declare them as the best signings in the world.

I’m fucking glad I’m going away because I’m furious, what a fucking joke of a manager we have. Tight fisted cunts the lot of them, that is until it comes to asking us to shell out for our season tickets!! cunts!!

  51. SIMON MCAHON

So there you have it another classic AW Gaff ,”i hope to conclude my transfer buisness in 2-3 weeks ”
    FUCKING BOLLOCKS !!!!!!!!!!!
and now that quote that Mean LEE has posted saying NASRI not signing Before July OH FUCKING MARVELOUS…..
I really dont think that after the last few seasons he understand just HOW PISSED OFF WE (THE FANS)ARE…
If France have a successful Euro run and win it this will probably mean that if we are able to sign him he will be signing when the first team come back to pre season ,Then he will have to have a break to rest which will mean that his time with his new teamates will be incredidbly short ….Before competetive games come round…
Worse case scenario He has a blinding tournament and madrid take him…
Then we could hear AW favourite gaff ,
I COULD HAVE SIGNED HIM ,HE NEARLY CAME TO ARSENAL..
MESSAGE TO YOU ARSENE EITHER PUT UP OR SHUT UP….

  52. patthegooner

I think you are right there GMR

The will not commit his future to Arsenal before July sums it up.

  53. abdenor

I might be wrong here but i think we have signed Nasri in principles, the only thing will jeopardize this deal is if the player gets a serious injury in the euros.

Nasri himself said last week he’s 99% sure that he’ll join us next season.

  54. Angry Loner

    Wow!

Doesnt take much for people to show themselves does it?

Now Wenger’s a cunt? Blah blah blah!

    Bollocks

  55. Wrighty7

I think we should take what Wenger says with a pinch of salt.

I haven’t got enough fingers to count how many times Wenger has said one thing and the complete opposite has happened!

He is forever playing mind games, sometimes i think he even doe’s it with us Gooners!

  56. patthegooner

maybe abdenor, and I hope he still does

But it is the 2-3 week bollocks that has pissed me off. it was the same last summer and as a fan I am really starting to struggle to believe anything the guy says. I know he has done wonders for Arsenal over the last 10 years but his words, and statements are starting to wear thin now.

I just wonder if this is our crap wage structure that has got in the way again, if so some fucker in the club needs to sort it out. Is this a result of Edelman and Dein never being replaced?

  57. Geoff

Wenger says 2-3 weeks, now it’s after the Euros, great, why don’t they do the same with our tickets?

See who we sign and then decide?

Like fuck, they treat us like shit, Moanrinhio had it right when he said Wenger has the safest job in football.

Meanwhile the spuds keep signing every fucker we mention. it’s our site those cunts read isn’t it?

  58. Geoff

Angry a release clause is the minimum not the only, we had this with Ronaldo, we offered £4mil, ManU offered £12, end of, the same will happen again and he’ll say ‘I can’t compete’ it’s not good enough.

  59. patthegooner

It is not Wenger is Cunt Angry Loner, but there is something not right at Arsenal at the moment.

I dont think he would have said the 2-3 week statement without some belief, but somewhere something is not working as the players seem reluctant to join

    Answers on a postcard

and sorry of course the transfer fee could change. If Nasri has a great Euros and suddenly Chleski, Real or Barca get an interest, then unless we have signed something with OM which I doubt then a bidding war ensues and we end up with the scraps….

  60. SIMON MCAHON

ITS ALL ABOUT THE DOUGH ,ANGRY REMEMBER THAT,
MORE DOUGH FOR THE PLAYER AND MORE COMMISION FOR HIS AGENT,
REMEMBER RVP’s statement last week about the club not paying enough in wages for the players ..

  61. Geoff

And he’s not that clever, mind games, what happened to Flamini eh? he fucked us over that’s what.

  62. Angry Loner

Yep, lets all have kittens coz that pesky Transfer Window has been open for all of, erm…21 whole hours now and there’s been no sogn of Eto’o, kaka and Lulu all day!

Sheeeeesh, not sure some of you will be here to watch the new season if you get so worked up on the effin FIRST OF JUNE!!!

Now, don’t get me wrong, I dont wanna even contemplate how i will be come August IF the squad aint been strengthened, shit, that aint an option! But, I do think some of the shite being posted is like way OTT!

Just my opinion. Dont have a Sean Connery now!

  63. Geoff

Angry, he did this last year, we waited and waited and fuck all happened, we’ve seen it all before!

  64. Angry Loner

    Pat;

I think there is something fucked up at Arsenal. There is a definite lack of football business acumen and know how when it comes to effin signing players and renewing contracts, etc. But thats hardly a secret is it? Can’t believe Dein left a year ago and the slimy twat still aint been replaced adequately.

  65. Geoff

What’s a Sean Connery? a Scottish cunt? what does the mean, don’t have a Scottish cunt that doesn’t pay his taxes and beats women?

I’m going for a beer, I’m fed up!

  66. SIMON MCAHON

Geoff exactly ,He has the safest job in Football the board have said this to the fans and media many times .

  67. Angry Loner

    Geoff;

I know what you are saying fella, maybe Im too optimistic, but i just cannot see that happening again.

  68. El Tel

Guys I haven’t been hiding, just not stopped working form the concert last night till a couple hours ago. Not eveyone earns millions a year fro doing what they love. Looks like the photographer was wrong, so sorry guys. Will keep things quiet so pratts like Robert don’t sting me. Fucking hate Wenger at the moment, the arsehole now says Nasri will not sign till JUly. Fucking liar. Whens he going to give our club his full attention. We don’t know who he will sign because he doesn’t know either. Very down about things because of this mans false promises.

  69. Geoff

OK Angry and El Tel, I’m off for a while, thanks for the info Angry and keep the faith, El Tel we all feel for you and supported you, you acted on info but we were happy for a day, don’t forget mates, we’re all Grovers, all gooners and will be long after you know who has left.

It’s not in our hands, so go and do what I am, drink, it’s big, it’s clever and it makes you forget!

    Have a good’un Grovers!

  70. SIMON MCAHON

Angry I didnt like dd much either but he knew all the tricks of the trade when it came to football buisness dealings ,
we are one of the wealthiest clubs in the world and when it comes to the world of football finances we are lagging behind EVEN THE BASTARD SPUDS!!!!(CUNTS)

  71. El Tel

I can understand the anger from you people but there was no wind up from my part. If you didn’t know I was a steward your anger would be less I guess. Keep faith with the real liar though you angry ones. Our Manager is a shit head at the moment and he’s toying with all of us. The PSG thing is beyond a joke. He probably wants the board to boot him so he can say I didn’t break my contract, then fuck off to PSG or whoever else. If any new player was to ask him how long he will be at AFC and he says I don’t know then they will not bother signing. We have a problem Euston. Yes its fucking to early to moan but he shouldn’t have made a promise.

  72. abdenor

I am pretty sure the Nasri deal will concluded once France gets knocked out of the Euro’s, remember We signed Pires less than 24 hours after They won Euro 2000 .
The club we signed him from was also Marseilles funnily enough!

  73. Pedro

El Tel… every website has been reporting that it was a done deal… don’t worry about it.

So now we can’t compete with French clubs on wages… what a joke?

Angry loner… people are rightly getting upset… the same happened with Ribery last year. Wenger said he’d sort it out in 3 weeks and it hasn’t happened.

Me and Geoff were talking about it earlier… it doesn’t matter that ManU and the Chavs haven’t bought yet, they compete in a different transfer market to us and they are already pretty well equipped.

We are two down already! We are losing the transfer war and the Euro’s are next week! Dear oh dear…

  74. Pedro

El Tel… you don’t need to justify yourself. You work for the club, you got a tip off and it fell through. Big deal… the sun do it every day, they don’t ever apologise.

  75. Angry Loner

    Nice one Geoff!

El Tel; That PSG ‘story’ is one of the daftest pieces of Football hackery Ive seen for quite a while fella.

The fact that Grimandi WAS offered a job there and refused it, surely shows that there aint nothing in it.

Funny thing is, i aint partivularly angry at the moment, maybe i should change me name?

  76. Pedro

    David Dein:

“I know Villeneuve well it’s true, after all I’ve been round the block a few times.

“But [PSG's interest] is news to me.”

Reacting to the suggestion Wenger could join PSG, Dein added: “I’m not sure I believe it. Of course anything is possible. Arsene gets propositioned all the time.”

  77. Angry Loner

    Pedro;

I wouldn’t dream of telling anyone how to react to something fella/

I just feel that calling Wenger a cunt is a tad over board, when we dont even know 100% what the flying fuck is going on with this story.

Like i said, I don’t even wanna think about going thru the same shite as last close season, so maybe i am self medicating myself from reality, maybe I just think this aint dead and buried just yet.

  78. Pedro

I think the problem with Arsenal Happy Loner is that we have the worst PR company in the world.

Don’t lie to your fan base…
Don’t pretend we are skint all the time…
Don’t be the last to report on something… all the time.
Don’t be bullied by ‘Bigger clubs’.

People just get hacked off and say stuff like earlier. i don’t blame them… it feels like we are runners up in everything…

I worry that will manifest itself as a club culture. What do the players think if the fans feel this way?

  79. Ash

Flamini said to Wenger he is staying and he bought it and we all know what happened

Nasri said he is 99% an Arsenal player.

I can see a similar outcome once the likes of Madrid, Barca and United come calling

Its plain stupid to wait for July. Am just resigned on losing this guy now to be honest. He has a good tournament Madrid & Chelsea will go head to head for him. His buy out clause is irrelevent. Marseille could do a 50% deal with him like Ajax did with Babel and we would be screwed. Unless Hleb is staying which is virtually impossible we cant afford to take this kind of risk. Nasri for 13 million is a good deal and yet we cant agree personal terms.

  80. davoody

blimey, ive been offline for a few hours and it has all kicked off on here aint it.

I don’t know where people get off blaming El Tel.

He didn’t need to give us that tip off. and to be fair that was all it was a tip off.

All these nutters coming on here and blaming him and this blog for getting all excited about it are all deluded. Jesus, the whole internet was buzzing with it today.

Don’t listen to them nutters El Tel, you keep mentioning those tips offs, it had me on edge all day. and thats half the fun ;)

Can i belive that wenger has come out out and said he hopes to get him after the euros. well yes i can, its just typical of our run of luck.

You have to question if Nasri hasen’t signed yet, is it because he just hasn’t had the time or indeed he is waiting for the offers post euro’s.

Scary, but this smacks of Ribery & Trablesi all over.

If it is the latter, do we want him? only to up sticks and demand more money and fly out to milan for ice cream this time next year. ??

  81. GMR

Angry, I said they’re all cunts, not just Wenger & I’m not just talking about it from the Nasri deal. You say the transfer window has been open 21 hours which is clearly bullshit, maybe you shouldn’t be relying on other blogs to tell you things. A signing could technically play for the club now but they can sign at anytime which is why spuds signed Modric before the season even ended.

Chelski have already made a signing as have Liverpool. Man Utd haven’t although the chances are they will even though red nose said they don’t need anyone, which after winning the double is clearly true.

I’m not pissed off because Nasri hasn’t signed (although I would like him to), I’m pissed off because the reason he hasn’t signed, which going by Wenger’s interview is due to a lack of wages being offered, even then I could put up with it if Wenger had a backup plan but quite clearly he hasn’t otherwise he’d have told Nasri in no uncertain terms to sign before the Euro’s or forget it & that we’ll move on with other targets. This is 2005 all over again, Baptista was his only target & despite Wenger being told again & again he didn’t want to join the bloke continued to track him until he signed for Madrid & then Wenger comes out moaning that it was his only target blah blah blah!!

  82. Gooner Chris

I’m right behind you guys at Le Grove. I said Flamini was staying and was completely wrong so I know how the fans can get on your back afterwards.

Glad I announced this news first though, seems people have taken to my blog a little. ;)

  83. Pedro

Cheers Chris… well played on getting the story… I have no idea how you do it, but well played!

Papers act on tip offs, so I don’t see the problem with blogs doing it as long as you don’t state it as fact.

So what next… another target, or do we wait?

  84. Pablo

So yet again we’ve been lied to and treated abysmally. On the one hand they’re are trying to treat our football club as a business therefore making us customers and not fans. Yet as customers they treat us with total and utter disrespect. If this was say a normal company and you were promised delivery of an item such as a sofa within a certain time period and it didn’t arrive you’d be upset, perhaps a little angry even. As a customer though you would be given the choice to have your money back or an apology with some sort of compensation. As customers we have been given nothing, all of a sudden Arsenal and Arsene are treating like fans and as fans they are saying to us, like or lump it they’re thousands like you waiting. Don’t want to wait until July, then do one. Its June 1st, we have your money now, we’re in control and you get what you’re give.

People they are taking the proverbial out of us. This can’t go on, we should demand some answers. Only this time the questions shouldn’t be so friendly and warm towards both Wenger and the board. Either we are fans or we are customers. Either way its somethings wrong. I’m not going to be happy having just forked out on my season ticket to watch the same team fail again. They’re all lying cnuts.

  85. Geoff

We should have signed Barry 2 weeks ago, we said it, he didn’t, since then, he’s made one and scored one and his value has gone up, so he’ll say we can’t afford him, so who’s fault is it, ours for telling him, or his for not listening???

  86. Pedro

Geoff… there is always a reason we don’t sign players…

    We are skint…
    Players rights…
    Clubs rights…
    Weak Euro…
    Property prices…
    Petrol prices…

It’s just fucking boring and its not on…

Man United never look anything but stable (Football wise)… a rumour comes out – quashed within an hour.

When certain fans say he shouldn’t have to justify gossip… he should, it is part of his job not to let the fans think their club is easy pickings for other teams.

How can a premiership team be getting out waged by a Ligue one team?

    Load of shite….

  87. Pablo

Are we to believe now that a club like Arsenal, the third best payers in the biggest league in the world, cant offer a 20 year old playing in the french league a salary that would be of interest to him? Lies lies lies.

  88. Raif

    Pedro – very true

this is one thing i like about Man utd and wishd we did the same. they hardly get any rumours to be honest with you. and there very good at signing players on a contract nice and early if they donr sign there sold for a decent fee. unlike us who wait till there contract is almost at its last day before they talk about a new deal. by then we lose them on a free. look at ALL the players thats been let go on a FREE. we could have got somthing out of all of them.

  89. gnarleygeorge9

    Wenger Dismisses PSG Link
“Arsene Wenger has categorically denied reports which claim that he has agreed to take over at Paris Saint Germain when his contract with Arsenal expires in 2011″.

Speaking from his spa in Italy, he also stressed that El Tel is a nice boy. No only made that last bit up, El Tel, I’m sure I speak for everyone @ Le Grove, thanks for your passion mate.

  90. fabgooner

this is so bad for arsenal ,wenger is a load of shit he cant sign a player before the euros and wanted to sign 3 befor the 3 weeks and now after nasri plays in the euro and does well (he will)all the top clubs will want him and will move to madrid or barca or chelsi its all wengers fault he went to nasri thinking as no one wants him i can get him cheap and low wage and nasri waited till the euros and held a club like arsenal on is toes hes a bloody player who has not yet done a thing, holding a club like arsenal on his wish because of WENGER!!! if this was manu they would give him 60-70k tell him to sign or move on not wait wait and wait and make fans and arsenal wait thts y we will never be a top club its not from outside its within frm fucking wenger i am so angry on him now (chutya maderchoud bangi bhenchoud ma ki chut)just sweared in hindi can u think of saf or mantd waiting and finding they dont sign nasri ??ever seen tht no,cause we are a cheap club who does everything on the cheap because of the board and wenger if he does not have funds and the board is lying just tell the ppl and dont let us wait and thinking the whole time ,plus i have never seen a website like fucking arsenal.com they only tell shit shit and shit think of sites like milantop class, or so ,now all i can do is wait for wengers contract to expire and hopefully the new manager buys or leaks the corruption at afc if i were a swing fan then y would i be supporting arsenal now y just think y?is thr any reason is it because a player like nasri we cant afford or players like benzema or etc are too expensive for us and then ppl say we are treated like a small club in europe ,we spend less then lyon,in the cl bdo same as them then y will they think we are a top club i see the only ans in chaging all this is sadly change wenger he has got us here and he has to change it imagine frm players like pires, henry, sol, berkamp, fredi, seeman, viera, we have gone to helb, eboue, ade, sendros, etc to gutted to even thimk now

  91. Pedro

    Pablo… so true.

The great thing about this website is that as a collective… we are starting to unravel those lies.

There is only so long you can keep telling intelligent people the same bollocks…

People talk about Hleb saying he may not give 100%… well drop him into the reserves, watch his profile diminish and watch his transfer to Madrid fall through.

Pretty simple really? We are not in a situation where we need to sell him to keep us afloat are we?

Lay down the law for once.

As for this transfer bollocks… I think players need to be very careful how they act.

If there is no transfer fee… then clubs don’t need to tie players down to long contracts. So the good ones will benefit… but one bad season and you could see your wages halved.

Clubs would agree a wage cap I think… I don’t reckon fans would stand for another player revolution… we’re already sick to death of spoilt footballers… make them any richer and I think people will switch off.

  92. Pedro

    Talk about late night rant…

I find myself getting increasingly frustrated with Football and Arsenal lately…

  93. fabgooner

ya late night ,its 5am here and i have collage in the morning at 7 waited for nasri and realised wenger fucked up AGAIN

  94. Raif

i just read the Wenger interview about “HOPING” Nasri will sign After the FUCKING Euroes. what kind of bullshit is this. sounds like his wating for a bigger deal to me.

and it aint the first time this has happend when a ( player / players agent ) USES our club as a fucking Bluff to get intrest going from other clubs to start biding war.
its ganna be Ribery all over again, oh and what club did ribery play for? hmmmmm smells of the same shit to me.

so if u read into what wenger says, u can bet ur arse his started working on a possible plan B incase Nasri dont sign.

but dont blame Nasri not signing on Wenger. its not his fault! blame Nasri and his agent for waiting for a bigger deal!

  95. fabgooner

and there u go again untd winning the pl cl go out and buy a 30million player we with 4 seasons without a trophy say no nasri is asking too much for his week, 50ks omg what a load of shit

  96. fabgooner

and why we can have a bigger deal for once?we after all are a top europen side arnt we?or is it because the guy who built our stadium (david dein)has left because he was worried about arsenal and raised Qs?and after they found out tht their money eatin would be caught they fired him?and if the stadium has given us a debt wht bout manu (700 odd)

  97. Pedro

Who ever turns the mancs down over pay? No one…

Offer them what they ask for… otherwise they will get it somewhere else.

  98. James Bartram

yeah i read a similar article raif… jeez, what a crock of shit! it also stated that, of all things arsene wenger loves to deal in, and of all things complicating our signing of samir nasri, wages issues are our cock-block! fucking hell…

we should tell him “we are a top uckin’ club son, we want you to play here, but if your going to be another alex hleb, then we don’t need your crap! this offer stands for 48 more hours… make up your fuckin’ mind!!!”

grrrr… this whole shit is annoying me, arsenal need to get ruthless!

  99. fabgooner

exactly tell the player sign or not -this way he will use us to get a higher wage and eventually not sign if wenger in the end does not sign someone like nasri and only some shit french player who is 17 i will only think of 1 person who is responsible for this -the guy who is in a french 5star hotel eating gr8 food getting paid and sleeping with strippers but not signing any players as they ask a lot of money and next season saying”i believe in my squad they have improved a lot and i will not make any signings although fabregas has gone we have a 12 yr old making great progress”

  100. Raif

James Bartram- yeah mate to right, we cant be sitting there waiting for a player to sign. it just makes us look like MUGS!!!

PLAYER A: “ahh its ok i can tell arsenal ill sign walst my agent looks for a bigger deal. it not like there going any were,
so i got them to fall back on incase i dont get that bigger deal”

thats how everyone we try and sign will act!

we need to say. This is the deal take it or leave it !! simple as that, so we can move on and sign somone else before we lose them to another club. simple. but arsenal dont get it.

  101. patthegooner

I think what has really fucking pissed me off about this, is that the French Nation find out on the radio first. Who the fuck does he work for

He made the 2-3 week claims. Now I dont blame him for the Nasri 99% speculation in the last week, but I guarantee he was aware of it, so why not explain the delay on Arsenal.com or Skysports first? He must have know that following the dissapointment of the last 3 years and the fact 99% of gooners know we are short of players, that we we would all be on the edge of our seats at the end of that 3 week period hanging on for the RE-ASSURING NEWS

It sucks big time and the Arsenal PR Machine is a fucking wank one

  102. ethangunner

but pat we have 222 players on arsenes message bank on his phone ..
it must be one of those new phones from china that haven’t got NO instruction manual !
Wenger is full of shite ! just excuse after excuse !

if you dont win anything for the best part of 4 years that will be remembered too !
sure he might have been successful for the 1st 5-6 years but we also had a good team then too! we haven’t even been able to get top 2 for the last few years now..
SOMETHING MUST BE DONE SOON !

Scolari would be my pick !
I think theres a lot of discussion about a new manager wrighty7 because our one has holes starting to appear in his methodology..
The timing between David dein leaving and wenger going tits up is significant .
He’s like Bernie to elton john .. like butch cassidy to sundance !
I think wenger is now exposed for being just human who makes his lions share of mistakes !
Hampered by the board room antics of players wage issues , stupid over 30′s policies!
its all designed to loose our best players ! And with loosing your best players you’ll never win anything !

Not when chevski and man U are fine tuning there teams now !
they have the talent and soon the time together, the understanding that we only benefited from last season !
Now the spud fans have gone , ive gotta say its getting worrying that they soon might come of age under ramos ! i sort of knew he would give them a shake !
ramos will re-mold that team by selling a few off and making some class additions !
make no mistake this season they are after us or liverpool !

This season is so vital ! we MUST be ready !

  103. Pablo

So if signing a 20 year old french lad from a modest ligue 1 side is proving a problem, we can forget Benzema, Villa, Yaya, Barry, Dos Santos, Veloso, Krankjar and anyone else who might want more than an average wage.

  104. ethangunner

    Pablo

i think the deal is done.. Nasri
but i suppose wenger is only going to make 1 or 2 signings ..
so he is aiming for the best Vs price .. and nasri rates himself ..

lets hope he aint a big ego !
Or wants to wait until the Euro’s are over ..
I have faith in our steward that he we fed the correct info ..
lets hope he aint using us as a stop gap either ! !
Id rather wenger buy English when he can !
at least then our players don’t often get big ideas to play in spain !
They know the EPL is the best !
every European footballers dream is to play for barca or real ! ac or alike
I would hope that wenger has learned his lesson by signing spanish players !
its a yearly occurrence for cesc to be asked via the media if he’s leaving! im getting sick of it

Id get barry .. instead of yaya any day ..
pay a bit more but at least he wont get any big ideas of leaving in the next season or 2 for spain !@!

I would expect the hleb deal to be a swap or partial swap plus cash ..
boring and interesting times ahead !

  105. ethangunner

    we = was line 6

mind you i spose yaya wouldn’t want to head back to spain in a hurry either but the ACN is a problem every 2 years !
