Obviously, our wide defenders Clichy and Sagna rate with any team’s, but it is apparent that Kolo and Gallas make a crap partnership in the center. Which is why I don’t understand the bile spewed at Big Phil. It can definitely be argued that when he partnered with Gallas (especially during Kolo’s time at the African Cup), the back 4 played their strongest football. And this isn’t a knock on Kolo… He and Gallas are just way too similar in defense, more willing to do the clean-up work. If you want to be shot of Senderos, then you need to bring in a big center back to replace him. Personally, I think selling Gallas off would be addition by subtraction, and Kolo should have the armband.
