Diego and Nasri linked, Arfa a banker and Cesc wants Villa.

So, Diego has been put forward to replace Hleb in the event he leaves, and frankly, he needs to, Diego would be a perfect replacement, he’s pacey, dribbles like Hleb but unlike Hleb he can finish and at 23 is four years younger.

Nasri has again been linked to partner Cesc and in the event of not getting Barry - my first choice, I would snap him up.

Cesc has said that David Villa would be the ideal signing, I would expect something to happen there, especially as Cesc is about to sign an extension, go get him Arsene, he said he wants to come. Who do we get rid of? good question, I would have him there to play the same role as Eduardo, same size and build and we still don’t know if Eduardo will return the same as he was when he left.

Vela will come back as a forward and not a winger so we will have a lot of forwards, but we’ll need them, it’s a long season and we want to compete on all fronts, so we’ll need them.

Matty the greedy ingrate has centre stage today and had this to say in the Sun.

‘If Arsenal had offered me a contract last summer I would still be their player now. Last July I told Arsenal I wanted to extend my contract so, of course, I would have signed if they had offered me a deal . . . but they didn’t. They said they wanted me to prove myself first’

More fool Arsenal, if they thought he was good enough for one more chance, he was good enough for a contract, you could see in August he was going to be awesome, he also said he left on the same money he joined on when he was 20, so that shows how useless the board were in negotiating that one.

Still he’s gone and we should move on, get some of the above in Arsene and we’ll soon forget them.

Now we know Vela won’t be a winger, Arfa must now be a shoe in, add him to the above list with a nasty center back and we’ll win the lot next year.

Get your cheque book out Arsenal! Have a good ‘un Grovers!

    1st?

Another day, another line of linked stars…I want ACTION. Still its exciting to hear the big names being linked. I cant see Nasri “partnering” Cesc? too attacking, not enough steal. The job is Yaya’s. Simple.

Nasri will do well as competion/understudy to cesc, as Diaby will be to Yaya.

As for Diego, superb footballer and one that you dont have to check youtube for, we all can rememeber his stunning performances for Werder in the CL.

One thing, isnt he a central midfielder??? Do we really need another guy to “come inside”?

One week down, Two to go until us Gooners are reassured

But does anyone else think this is becoming very reminiscent of last summer

Remember the early words of Super Super players, this year it was 2-3 players of real quality. I know Big Names are not always great quality but the percentages of those that are far outweigh the percentages of finding hidden gems.

I dont mind as much if any signings turn out to be Sagna’s but I think we need players that can hit the ground running (Luckilly Sagna did). Next Season is very important and if we are hanging around for players to settle (Like Eduardo to some extent) it leaves gaping holes in our squad depth especially with Flamini gone, Rosicky and RVP injury prone, Eduardo out and this continued stubborness of playing Eboue on the wing.

I mean what do we have to do with Eboue, I dont condone booing your own players but what can we do, Wenger just wont budge, are 31 average to crap performances not enough to prove the point. I dont buy this defensive balance rubbish, he is getting himself in great positions but lacks any finishing or killer pass ability.

Please dont let Vela be the re-assurance because I dont think we will see that much of him next season.

    Rant over

  8. Old Father Gun Says:

If the reported statement of Matt the Grab is true then this is just another example of lousy decisions from on high at Arsenal. It’s about as good as AW’s 30 poss too old rule. There is a permanent undercurrent of inflexibility when it comes to dealing with the players/contracts and a stubborn attitude that drives us the fans crazy. Sadly most players these days are mercenaries and to them it’s just a job. After all unlike us they probably never were Arsenal fans themselves so money talks loudest. It’s a commercial world and until the board get their act together we are more likely to sign Arfa Askey than the real thing.

  9. gunnershabz Says:

ok, we might as well get rid of that hleb and get diego, i will be over the moon for that.

but he is a player plays behind the striker, i cant see him playing on the right.

so we do need hatem ben arfa, can he play on the right or we just going to be stuck with eboue there

Well we got carlos vela coming through, but as a forward but he will use him on the left trust me like eduardo, so will he buy a striker i dont know

  10. choy Says:

deja vu.. there are two posts today right… or am i still dreaming?

  11. GMR Says:

Diego would be ideal as back-up for Cesc. We need players to cover positions so that Wenger can rotate.

Cesc was visible shattered towards the end of the season, not surprising considering the amount he played, & lets not forget that even when he was left out the team he was generally on the bench & nearly always required to come on to change a game.

I don’t think Nasri, Cesc & Ben Arfa could play in the same team. There would be no balance & they are all far too lightweight to play together.

  12. gunnershabz Says:

diego is similar to kaka, plays behind the striker, so if we do buy diego.. we aint going to be buying a striker

so exept david villa at real, barca or spurds

  13. choy Says:

GMR.. then we’ll float like butterflies and sting like bees

  14. Barry Says:

Wenger won’t sign any big name players.. He already has 6 strikers (Ade, RVP, Bendtner, Theo, Eduardo and now Vela)

We may sign one creative player and a centre half but I think Arsene believes Diaby will step up to the plate in centre mid and Gilberto and Song are good enough back up.

Arsene won’t spend loads on money and make wholesale changes are we were only 4 points off the title.. Just a bit of tweaking - if Sagna has stayed fit we may well have been talking about changing a title winning team.

  15. GMR Says:

    Or get swatted like flies!!

  16. GMR Says:

I hope Arsenal report Flamini & whichever english club approached him to Fifa. He wasn’t allowed to speak to clubs in this country only foreign teams until his contract expired, meaning he’s been illegally approached.

    Chances of Arsenal taking action…………………..zero!!

  17. choy Says:

    lol

  18. adafabregas Says:

Nasri isn’t going to be a Flamini replacement!!!

It’s a complex transfer rectangle between 4 clubs.

Arsenal want a Hleb replacement (Nasri or Diego, most likely other knowing Wenger)
Arsenal want a left winger (Ben Arfa or N’Zogbia)

Lyon want Nasri and are willing to trade Ben Arfa
    Lyon want N’Zogbia

Marseilles want Ben Arfa but would rather keep hold of Nasri. All the same a clause in his contract means he can go for between £12-£16m anyway. It’s Lyon that are keen on the swap so that devalues Ben Arfa as they could outright buy Nasri for that figure.

At this moment N’Zogbia is likely heading to Lyon but if our Ben Afra deal doesn’t go through then the N’Zogbia-Lyon deal will be cancelled and we will get N’Zogbia as our 2nd preference.

As for the Hleb replacement, I can’t see it being Nasri. He’s young and very talented but he’s a bit slow and quite similar to Cesc. There is no way he could play across midfield. Diego on the other hand could but he’d be a lot more expensive (we’re talking £20m here) and we haven’t been linked as strongly. I fancy us to wrap a deal for a centreback and left winger first and leave it to late July/early August to start looking for a Hleb replacement. I think Wenger really wants him to stay, on principle rather than on field reasons though.

    My personal pref

This year above any in the last three years is about Arsenal’s and Arsene’s ambition or ability to reproduce a team capable of winning trophies. Lets imagine Kroenke takes a seat on the board and eventually succeeds PHW. How many years of nil returns will he accept?

A big four side is not only about Champions League qualification its about winning trophies. Its about keeping the fans interested so they attend and spend, its also about attracting new fans. Its about attracting the world’s best players to produce that football. Who cares how pretty the football is if you win nothing. During the Graham years we were accused of being boring when clubs like West Ham and Spurs played “attractive” football but they won nothing and now very few people remember those years for them. They do remember us winning trophies though.

Wenger succeeded in doing both between 98 and 05, since then we have not won a thing, that needs to end or things will have to change. I don’t care about flats at Highbury Square, bank balances or loans. I dont care about the executive seats and the luxury they have when watching a game, the only reason they come is because they want to attach themselves to winners and entertain their corporate mates. Its us real fans who have been going for years that matters because its us that have to take the jibes from Chelsea, Man United and Liverpool fans. It will also be a few of us that will remain in the half empty stands when the corporates have given up because we ar no longer winners.

This is the last year, no more excuses, no more “transition” years we have to win and to do that we need players that will do it for us.

  21. dogg Says:

I dont think thar Nasri will be able to partner Cesc in the middle of the park, we need to have a holding midfielder, somebody like makoun, yaya toure etc. However, if the signings of ben arfa, diego and nasri go into place, i see no reason why we should not be able to play a 433 or a 4141, with our usual back four (perhaps including mertesacker?) holding midfield, cesc, diego, nasri, ben arfa in the midfield and ade upfront. Hoever, we have quite a few strikers, and this would mean that only one striker coul play at any one time. I think nasri is a great bet at replacing bobby pires on the left, adding goals (along side diego and ben arfa hopefully) in midfield. In terms of strikers, we have vela coming back, walcott starting to blaze the scene, and hopefully van persie not to be injured. Lets not forget that when van persie is at his best, he is unstoppable. He was top of the scoring charts in the early season, before he got injured. Hoever, if eduardo doesnt come back to the player he used to be, vela doesnt hit it in the prem (reminiscent of reyes?), and van persie has another injury stricken season, then i think buying a forward in the january transfer window isnt a bad suggestion. Valencia are not in the champions league, so if david villa wre not to leave in this summer trasfer window, and if we were able to buy him in january, then he wont be cup tied for the champions league. A few more goal scoring midfielders, and a solid centre back (a “sagna-esque” signing” will probably do it for arsenal. We cant forget the amount of talent coming through from our ranks (gibbs, traore (clichy II, randall, barazite, wilshere, evina (clichy III)), so we dont want to upset the balance of our squad. Just think of how many injuries we had last year. A few good signings of good players to turn great over the season (que sagna) is all we need. And to also get rid of eboue…

  22. paul Says:

    pablo

You are wrong. I do remember the Graham years and no one liked to watch Arsenal because they were boring and people liked to watch the Spurs because they were attractive. It is similar with Chelsea now - they can’t even get a full house at the Bridge. So as it is bums on seats and TV audiences that are key to making money, you have to have style to succeed. Football is entertainment and not just winning.

  23. Ashburton Perry Says:

    Spot on pablo.

Ray Parlour always gave 100% and was as honest as they come. The new corporate fans might buy Arsene’s tosh about defensive balance - but north bank gooners know how gravely offensive his comments were to Romford Pele.

Eboue doesn’t deserve to wear the shirt. Our club is about tradition and doing things the right way. We don’t care how entertaining he is around the training ground, we care about what happens on the pitch. And frankly, he’s an embarrassment.

I trust le boss to bring in the right players. But do I trust him to get rid of the wrong ones?

  24. Canadian Gooner Says:

I think Flamini had made his mind up to leave before New Years. However, he needed the club to think he would sign a new contract so he could continue to play in the first team and keep himself in the shop window. He kept saying all was fine except for some minor details which would be settled when he and the club had time. His recent stories are just more lies and deception. In a few months we wont miss him and he can enjoy playing in the UEFA Cup for a ‘big’ team. Let’s move on.

  25. pablo Says:

    Ashburton Perry:

Parlour was a grafter, just like Adams, Bould, Keown, Winterburn , Dixon. The hardest working players and defensive unit the Premiership ever saw. What all these players lacked in grace & finese they made up in bundles in determination, spirit, togetherness and attitude. They didn’t feign injury, clutching their faces when brushed by an opponents arm they were proper men and proper Gooners. They fought for the cause and when the cause was lost they fought for pride. To them losing was bad but being humiliated was worse so they carried on until the end.

Eboue is not a Parlour, never will be. He hasn’t the guts to be a Parlour. Parlour worked hard every game because there were better players than him that could replace him if he stopped working hard. Eboue is probably technically better as a player, not necessari;y as a right midfielder but isn’t half the player Parlour was.

    Morning all,
    I’ve already sat a 3 hour translation exam… what a start to a Saturday.

Did anyone else watch the France v Spain U17 Final last night??
Spain were absolutely awesome, they have one little player called Keko (Sergio Gatan) who plays for Atletico Madrid who looks like the next big deal. He’s tiny, blonde and so fucking quick that his legs blur when he runs. Coupled with great decision making, great crossing ability and surprising strength for a little lad, as well as defensive capabilities and a willingness to tackle, this boy is MESSI MARK 2.

Arsene, get those sweets out (and your wallet), its time to lure him into our little nest!!!

A couple of other really impressive Spanish players too - Thiago especially.

France looked average, but our lad Gilles Sunu up front provided an occasional spark. He’s big but very raw (think Ade 4 years ago).. 1 or 2 seasons away from Carling Cup still I reckon.

Just thought you might be interested in that, have a good Saturday grovers!

  27. Evo in OZ Says:

so if we dont win this season Pablo, who you are you going to swap over to supporting?

  28. pablo Says:

    Paul:

We were accused of being boring but we still sold out every week. We also won the league in the most exciting finish ever. It was a wrongly held conception that we were boring especially when you look back at the stats and realise we were amongst the top scorers in most of the years Graham was there. It was only his last two years when Graham intoduced Selley, McGoldrick Hillier and the like that we became “boring”.

Ask yourself how could we be boring with players like Rocastle, Merson, Thomas, Davies, Limpar & Wrighty? These guys were brilliant, admittedly some of their replacements were sub-standard pretty much like a few in todays Arsenal compared to the one four years ago.

  29. Babak Says:

We cant keep asking Arsene to sell players, in the last two months i have read that Bendtner, Ade, Eboue, Senderos, Gilberto, even RVP should all be sold. We need to give these players the crdit they are due. Eboue i can get on board with. The only defence of him is that his first season had a lot of us raving like loonies about him. So maybe one more year. With Vela coming back, plus the two players i jope Arsene brings in we are ready. Sometimes i hear some real gloom from the gooners on these blogs. Remeber Graham won less than Arsene has, and was far less consisitent. In Wenger i trust. COME ON THE GUNNERS. ( i wouldn’t mind the center backs and Wrighty back)

  30. Geoff Says:

Babak, I agree we can’t sell too many players but Eboue? what game were you watching when he was good?

Wenger’s won more than GG because he’s been there 50% longer than GG!

  31. Romford Pele Says:

How is Ben Arfa suddenly a shoo-in? Because crap websites like totalfootball and goal.com says he’s joining? I dont think so.

    One out of:

    Nasri
    Ben arfa
    diego

and then Yaya and a centre back and we’re in business

  32. pablo Says:

    Evo.

Mate don’t even attempt to make me out at being a fickle fan. I’ve been going down the Arsenal since 1970 when I was seven. I’ve followed them up and down the country and across Europe through thick and thin. I’ve missed weddings, family functions, work & holidays just so I can watch them. Do you think after all that I’m going to switch to being a Chelsea or United fan, teams that I have hated?

It might be different for you guys in Oz who watch on TV to be able to switch allegiances but its not for me. Cheers anyway.

  33. Geoff Says:

Process of elimination Romford, he said 3 weeks, and that’s when the French Cup final ends, and Vela who we all thought was a left winger, is now going to be used as a Center forward.

Hence the shoe in, we need a left winger and there’s no one else left, Rosicky in a center midfielder.

  34. Agent 86 Says:

I don’t remember supporters ever waxing lyrical about Eboue.

Didn’t Graham win 6 trophies in 9 years?

    Including winning in Europe?

Wenger has not won in Europe and never will - if he keeps his current policy of not splashing the cash on decent players.

Let’s remember too that Graham was responsible for bringing Wright to the club, amongst many others, so he had as good an eye as Wenger.

  35. Ramgun Says:

Arsene is a bad match-day manager. He has great gifts and I feel a strong personal loyalty to him. Unfortunately with Wenger we have to be 5-10 points better to finish 1 point clear due to his team selections, tactics and substitutions. Mourinho and Ferguson would not lose three cup finals from a goal up. Those two wouldn’t develope the talent that Arsene has and nobody has played better football to watch than Arsene’s Arsenal. We only received any sympathy for what happened to us last season once we couldn’t win anything so, when it mattered, who cared about our wonderful football? Arsene faces his greatest test and I fear for him. I am willing him to succeed but I can’t say that his recent utterances fill me with confidence. I don’t think that our squad has a good spirit at all and unless the problem is solved it will fester. Gallas could barely bring himself to say anything decent about Bendtner in the memebers mag I have just received. Hleb will go and Adebayor should but won’t.

  36. GMR Says:

Pablo, I agree with most of what you’ve said. The GG years weren’t half as boring as people have made out, its just perceived that way because we could defend!! The people that call them boring are generally the people that didn’t go & watch on a weekly basis.

I do take issue with you though about the seats, I currently sit in the club level its not because I want to impress people or for any other reason & I certainly don’t go to attach myself to a winning team. I am fan, like you & have been going since I was 8 in the mid 80’s, luckily I can afford to sit there so I do.

  37. Geoff Says:

Pablo I also sit in club level, I had a box for 13 years and I had season tickets for 5 years, in West Upper, West lower and the Executive suite.

That doesn’t make me a corporate because I work my bollocks off and want a better seat, any more than it makes you a better fan because you pay less.

  38. GMR Says:

Well said Geoff!! Whereabouts do you sit??

  39. Geoff Says:

Above the North bank, so North east corner, front row. Cracking view and free beer!

  40. pablo Says:

    GMR:

I dont have any issues with real fans regardless of the financial status, my attack was aimed at those who don’t support the club and just purchase boxes/seats because its part of their corporate entertainment budget. Sorry for any confusion.

  41. Geoff Says:

Well done Pablo, we’re all fans otherwise we wouldn’t be on here!

  42. GMR Says:

Pablo, thanks for clearing that up. I didn’t really think you were having a pop at genuine fans but I don’t want to be labelled with the suits that really don’t care about the club.

Apart from that I agree with your sentiments 100%!!

Geoff, I’m on the halfway line. I had to pay up for the 4 year contract in advance, did you have that or could you choose a shorter term contract where you are?? The only bonus with mine was that it doesn’t have a price increase during the contract period, I’m not sure if that applies throughout the club level I can’t say I’ve really looked into it.

  43. Geoff Says:

No I paid for my 2 on an annual basis, but 2 years on and they’ve gone up from £2500 to £2600.

What I like though is sitting in the ground after the game and watching everyone leave whilst I enjoy a few beers and miss the crowds.

You seats were £4,500 and a bit closer to the away fans, so I opted to be above the North bank or the singing!

  44. GMR Says:

At least that price increase isn’t too much when your already in the thousands. Do you go with Pedro or does he just try & con his way in??

I always stay afterwards as well. Little point rushing off especially with the traffic, which incidentally always seems to be heading the same direction as me!!

  45. Wrighty7 Says:

    Hi Geoff/Pedro, fellow Grovers,

It’s great for us Gooners to read about the names mentioned in your post, even if they don’t come!!

It gives you a pulsating rush!!

Imagine opening game at the Emirates next season,

And can you welcome our new signing……..David…..Villlllllllllllllllllla………

    (cue crowd roar)

    Getting goose bumps already!!!!!!

  46. Geoff Says:

You got that right! Yes I mostly go with Pedro.

  47. Geoff Says:

Hi Wrighty, we can only hope he sees sense and dips in!

  48. GMR Says:

Well I’m booked on a flight to go to my villa now on 2nd June, I thought I’d go after the 3 weeks were up when Wenger promised us a signing. Also the Euro’s start on the 7th so nothing in terms of transfers will happen then until after the tournament is finished, at which time I’ll be back.

Perfect time for a holiday & to forget the internet. I’m determined not to take my laptop so I can’t keep checking newsnow for stories!!

  49. Geoff Says:

When I said Cesc wants villa I didn’t mean your one GMR, I hope you’re going somewhere hot with a golf course.

  50. Pedro Says:

My god, it appears it is compulsory to own a villa in spain to be part of this site!

Pablo, I agree with you about people who sell there tickets to people not interested in the Arsenal… or worse, people who give there tickets to rival fans who have no respect for which end they sit in!

Wrighty, what do you think of Diego? Have you checked out his youtube? That will get your more excited than David Villa I promise!

I’m hitting a BBQ now in the pissing rain!

GMR… you will regret leaving your lap top, you’ll stay glued to sky sports news all day instead!! You know you can pick Le Grove up on wap these days I think!

Quite a few newbies on today! Excellent stuff… Welcome to Le Grove it it hasn’t already been said!

  51. Pedro Says:

    Nasri’s agent…

“As soon as the season is over, we will discuss with Samir, about his future, and we will plan all the solutions,” he told Le Parisien.

“There are offers, that is the truth, but for the moment nothing is decided.”

    …promising!

Creative for definite and a French international.

  52. Ja_Gunner Says:

Its going to be either Ben Arfa or Nasri.

We will not get both, too much clubs involved plus Marsielle and Lyon want to swap them.

If we got Nasri he would be back up for Cesc. They cant play together cuz both are attacking, unless you want to throw out the whole defensive midfielder role.

On that note, i dont think we need a defensive midfielder in all games.

In the CC or against the bottom 6 six teams I dont think we need a defensive mid as such and could just go all attacking against those teams.

Since it seems Vela will be a forward, we should sign Ben Arfa to command the left wing.

  53. GMR Says:

Geoff, you’d love it my friend, my villa is in Florida on the Reunion resort & my pool backs onto the golf course!!

  54. GMR Says:

Pedro, If I take my laptop I’ll be on it all day checking & it does my brain in. Last time I went away during the transfer months I kept checking WAP on my phone & ran up a 1k phonebill.

  55. GMR Says:

Nasri said he wouldn’t play for another French club so I doubt he’d move to Lyon. I think thats why the Ben Arfa/Nasri swap hasn’t happened.

  56. Ja_Gunner Says:

My priority is to sign BenArfa therefore I am leaving Nasri out he seems a bit too light weight, Ben Arfa seems much stronger.

I say Hleb will go so I say Arshavin to replace him. He is 26 so has experience which something we need. Arshavin is technical, fast and much more end product than Hleb.

If we cant get Arshavin, I say for a creative player lets get Nuri Sahin from Turkey. I think he is better and seems stronger than Nasri.

I would love Diego as well but he will be too expensive for our budget.

So a realistic list for me is….

    Ben Arfa
    Arshavin/Sahin
    Martesacker/Dunne

If we get these 3 players we will be solid. I believe just like Wenger we should try to replace Flamini from within.

We should try to use Denilson/Diaby/Song these guys should be rotated between the league, CL, CC etc.

  57. Ja_Gunner Says:

Would love to sign Villa , especially since he is begging to be signed.

If we dont sign him somehow we may cross paths with him and then he may score against us lol, just like Torres, Babel etc.

If Rosicky is fit he could used to rest Cesc in some and be rotated with Ben Arfa on the left wing. This way he can get his sharpness back gradually and also give Cesc much needed rest.

We could possibly use Rosicky in Cesc’s place for CC FAcup etc. to work him back in. We cant use a 100% young side in these tournaments you need say 3-4 experienced players to guide them through.

And also if we meet up on opposition like Tottham/ Manu etc then we revert to the strongest team no matter what, dont want momentum breakers again next season.

  58. Geoff Says:

GMR I played there at the Reunion January 2007, they had a two hour frost delay, I played the Watson and the Nicklaus, great place! bloody cold though then.

I didn’t before, but now I hate the fucking Welsh, they get to sing the Wales national anthem because they’re Welsh, and we get to sing God save the queen, which is British, no English anthem, they are just cunts, if it wasn’t for the tasty Katherine Jenkins, I would have put my foot through my 48 inch LG, fucking cunts, we should sack the anthem and let the fucking Welsh run themselves and we’d save £20 billion a year. Fucking socialist backward knuckle dragging country.

  59. Stupid Says:

    well said that man.

  60. Geoff Says:

So just going back to Flamini, he basically said he decided in the summer that when Arsenal didn’t offer him a new contract, he was off. What a self centered cunt, he knew that Diarra would go and let him, even if he’d have a word in quiet with Diarra, he didn’t.

It makes Wengers managerial decisions even stranger.

One last thing about Cardiff, if they’re so fucking Welsh, why aren’t their songs sung in Welsh, fucking hypocrites, I bet 4 people speak that witches tongue, we should burn them at the stake, then let them govern themselves, imagine their economy, I bet it’s all Katherine Jenkins money, Anthony Hopkins and Tom Jones pay the Americans their tax.

did you see this comment on setanta, looks like stupid’s friend rumour is out there

  62. Stupid Says:

    it was 100% manure

  63. Geoff Says:

I just watched Diarra pull off a piece of magic that Flamini would never be able to, fuck it pisses me off we let him go, no wonder he got the hump, he’s so much more controlled than Flamini.

  64. Geoff Says:

Learn from past mistakes like Viera and Reyes Arsene. Don’t sell Hleb until you’ve replaced him, buy Diego or Nasri first, then put Hleb on the market, let him see how that feels, and if we don’t get what we wantt for him, leave him in the reserves.

Sign 3 from this lot Arfa, Nasri, Barry or Diego in midfield and Villa up top, Cesc wants him, so that would be a good move.

Then Dunne or Mexes at the back, not Thuram, he’s way past it.

We have the money. Send a message.

  65. GMR Says:

Geoff, again I agree with you. Diarra has been outstanding in this match & we let him go!! Sorry but Kranjcar has been woeful, that run he made & he only had to play Utaka in but he selfishly held onto the ball & lost it.

  66. GMR Says:

Geoff, I bought the villa 3 years ago off plan & it took them 2 years to build the thing, so I only got the keys last summer.

Didn’t Nicklaus design the course at Reunion?? I could be well off with that comment but I thought you might know!!

  67. usa_gooner Says:

wenger has already categorically stated he will not buy a “big”name but a big player…so villa might be out of the question…nasri i doubt ….ben arfa more than a 50 % chance…

some speculations are just absurd….but thats not the reason to post this….

flamini is coming under a lot of stick but I would stand up for the guy because he gave a season that was full of emotion and passion…whenever the gunners were down it was flamini who was throwing himself around and pumping up the crowd and the players….you could see him giving that extra to win the ball….never saw cesc or adebayor do that ….it was always after they scored they ot pumped….i have always been taught that it is when the team is downthat you see the real leader….i saw this quality in clichy during this season and in the past in toure….please dont give me the shit that cesc has passion … i know he does and he is a gunner through and throuh but i failed to see the passion when the team was down…its my observation and you guys can disagree but dont give the Arsene knows bs aka “cesc is god”….

so coming back to flamini..it is arsenals fault that they should have extended his contract ….we should have given him the pay raise…70 k /week is good money for someone who has integrated in your system…if this was a one off season then we could unload him the next year…we would even get some money….so i dont blame flamini and am sick of gunners saying “flamoney”..the love for arsenal blinds the logic….i would leave the club who didnt value my services too….quit with the hating and appreciate his services…not just this year but in the previous too….when the gunners had no left back and was faced by the best wingers in europe…who the heck came to play that dreaded position…and if any right footed mid fielder has played that position against a pacy winger …he knows how fucking tough it is… and what happened when we got to the final?….he was dropped….many of you guys calling him “flamoney” would be crying all over the media at this treatment….what did flamini do ?…he fucking put his head down and said i will prove to the boss what he brought me here for ….being a defensive midfielder….sorry but even having cesc’s name before flamini’s as the player of the season would be a slap on an football fans face….and if interested my player of the season would be a tie between bacary, clichy and flamini…

as for hleb I dont think we should be as pissed to see our guys being linked to every club…imagine what the french fans go through….those guys come from the lyon and marseilles academies only to have them linked with our club….so we shouldnt go about saying we are the only ones who are screwed with…..hleb is a magical player and we need him….he knows our style of play and is critical for next season….his lack of goals mentioned by some people is a factor but if some of the blinded fans would do some research and check how many assists he created for adebayor that he missed you will realize why his assist columns dont support him….

so my point …i was glad to see a blog who shunned the “Arsene knows” philosophy only to find some irrational comments on the posters section …i highly value some posters who always give an unbiased view as is needed in some cases ie when you are talkling among fans….when its with a fan of some other club you can be biased as shit like “fabregas is god” or “arsene knows” or give adebayor the ball and he will score” …..

thank god the bloggers of this website arnt as blinded by the love of arsenal to know whats good for it….

  68. Ashburton Perry Says:

    Ben Arfa
    Robinho
    Richards

    Quadruple

  69. abdenor Says:

Hi guys, I’m sure people will dissagree but i really don’t feel Diarra is better than Flamini, not as a holding midfielder, sure he’s more thecnical & look good on the eye but is he as effective as Flam?… i doubt it!
Yes he’s having a good game today but it’s Cardiff & he’s playing lot more forward than usual, BTW Krancjar looks too slow to play for us , he’s shit and i dont want him.

For those who don’t know, the Cesc Fabregas show will be shown on sky sports1 monday at 18:30.

  70. Ashburton Perry Says:

    Bring back Tony Adams

  71. usa_gooner Says:

hey ive posted before…. why are my comments awaiting moderation…didnt say anything against the site…just some flamini hating fans…well whatever…its probably because you havent seen my comment yet…. oh well

  72. gunnershabz Says:

wenger needs to just go for it this summer

ben arfa and nasri - if he cant get nasri go for diego

get raul abiol and thats it… we done

we can push diaby in the centre and get him

  73. abdenor Says:

Yeah lets bring Tony Adams back, no wonder Pompey have an outstanding away record in the prem, big tone would give you an earfull if you’re not up for it on a wet monday night game at Newcastle!

  74. ethangunner Says:

well just came on here to say what you guys have already stated ..

Kranjcar looks shite ! and diarra never should of left !
dolphin head or not .. arsene was stupid to not give the guy a run ..
especially with the flamini contract obviously up in the air ..
Plus all the crap flamini said about the club and his contract situation its surprising the manager never picked up on how pissed off he was .. even at the time ..
unless flamini’s a better bullshitter than arsene is at picking up on his bullshit ..

id rather have pederson than Kranjcar and he has played shit for 2 seasons too !
hopefully the Kranjcar rumors are exactly that !

also the only goal looks like an ade-kanu 6 yard box special ..
all in all a pretty bad way to end the season ..
2 shite teams that have no right being there really ..
we aren’t seeing the best the EPL has to offer ..
id seen enough by the 60th minute ..

i s’pose the next thing you’ll hear is would you rather win the f.a cup or finish 3rd with nothing !!

  75. abdenor Says:

    Congrats Pompey!

Well done Harry Redknapp, you deserve a trophy after all you’ve done for football.

  76. Geoff Says:

USA gooner, sorry for the delay, I have no idea why you were in moderation, you’re out now, dolphin head, nice one Ethan, GMR, Nicklaus, Watson and Palmer have each built a course there, the Watson one shades it for me though, I think the Ginn Classic, the ladies event plays over a combination of all three, I had dinner in the clubhouse and was the only one in there, the service was great though!

  77. Geoff Says:

and for all the bungs eh!

  78. finestcuts Says:

Yeah congrats to Kanu, a very Adebyaor style of goal. Cardiff played well, they challenged in the first half but once Portsmouth scored Cardiff were always on the backfoot. Hardly a classic game but massive for them, when did they last win a cup?

    Portsmouth, FA Cup champions 2008.

We could do with a bit of cup action, next year we’ve got to play proper teams in the FA and Carling cups,

  79. andy c Says:

Are we due a new strip next season? if so has any body seen any pics?

  80. Geoff Says:

We are andy, we saw the leaked pictures of the home and away shirts, red fronts and white arms and sides and the away kit is Yellow and blue.

  81. ethangunner Says:

    yes well done redknapp !
happy for the bloke .. shame the football was putting me to sleep in my chair but
was barracking for pompey all the way ..
too many arsenal X players in there not too !
james is a good goalie and at his age a freak !

  82. andy c Says:

is there a link available geoff?

  83. abdenor Says:

    andy c

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qAEyzYYhcVA&feature=related

    and

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iyA25uAabII

  84. Geoff Says:

Sorry andy, I can’t remember where I saw it. it was another blog site if that helps! Don’t get excited, the picture I saw wasn’t that great.

  85. Pedro Says:

You can stick Kranky right up your arse Arsene! What an average player.

I am also convinced that Diarra was not the player for us… Average at best.

Andy, just type Arsenal away kit into google and you will see it (I mean home).

Well played redknapp, you deserve a trophy!

USA, wenger may not buy a big name… but is Arfa a big name? Is Nasri? No, but they are players we’d be happy with.

So, reality hits home… no more proper football till August…

Who is going to the Emirates Cup?

  86. Pedro Says:

    Andy C:

    New Kit

  87. Pedro Says:

I hear we are going to wear an exact replica of the 89 kit against Liverpool at Anfield this year to celebrate 20 years.

I read it on a Liverpool site… I don’t know if anyone else has heard this?

  88. Paulinho Says:

I always said Kranjcar was rank average. Slow, slow, slow.

Diego isn’t that pacy either. Not sure he is a Hleb replacement. More Cesc.

  89. andy c Says:

Thanks pedro, dont think i like either of them to be honest! Bring on August, its gonna be a long summer with no euros!

  90. Northampton Gunner Says:

Paulinho, I disagree with your assessment.

I think Diego is very pacey, I would think Arsene would put a player like him out on the wing. He is more impact than Cesc and he has a rocket shot.

I have to agree with you regarding the ability of the Pompey midfielder. He is average at best.

What are Le Groves thoughts regarding reinforcements this summer?

I believe we will sign two creative players and a centre back. I’d love to sign Villa or Benzema, but I feel this will not happen.

    Great website by the way.

  91. Geoff Says:

Welcome aboard Northampton! we want Diego, Nasri or Barry and Ben Arfa, with Villa up front.

A big centerback probably Dunne who would do a holding job until our kids are ready.

  92. GMR Says:

Kompany was on the bench today so cue more speculation that he’s about to join us. If he does I just won’t understand it, why sign an injury prone defender that is hardly dominating anyway!!

  93. Northampton Gunner Says:

    dfgvfsfvscdasxsa cx

  94. Northampton Gunner Says:

Sorry guys, cats and computers do not mix.

Kompany looks like a lump, but I have not seen enough of him to make a rational judgement. Is he from belgium? Has anyone seen him?

Who are Le Grovers backing for Euro 2008?

  95. GMR Says:

I saw him several times for Anderlecht (usually in the CL). He is a skillful player but he isn’t the dominating defender we need & since joining Hamburg his injury problems have been non stop.

I have a feeling though that Kompany may well be on his way. I don’t know why, I just think he is a typical Wenger signing albeit a more expensive signing than he usually makes.

  96. GMR Says:

I’d like to see Spain win it especially with the football they play. If not them then maybe Holland.

  97. Northampton Gunner Says:

I find myself supporting the team in orange. I don’t know what it is about the dutch, but they are the European nation I feel most affiliated with. I would love to see Robin show the world he is world class.

I also have a lot of love for the spanish, they are under achievers on the same level as England. Torres for top scorer? Or maybe a shock for huntelaar?

  98. Gavin Says:

Do we really want a troublemaker like Ben Arfa. I think he is sensational technically but he wouldn’t last a week in Italy. He refuses to play with Benzema(so we hear thats why being shipped out) I promise his purchase will unsettle the team and bit us in the arse.
Diego a perfect replacement you say. I agree will be just as ineffective and give the ball away.Has a good shot on him though.
Nasri is good but will cost us and from what I’ve seen is far from the finished article.

Should really be after a winner, heart of steel, inspire the team, a leader on and of the field, A proper professional, not overpriced, can go outside AND inside can play a through ball to die for…………………please Arsene go get the Russian captain Arshavin.

  99. Geoff Says:

Arshavin is okay but Ben Arfa and Samir Nasri are special talents, Ade was trouble at Monaco, but he’s been okay, I think Arfa will fit in well, how do we know the problem isn’t Benzema?

  100. Gavin Says:

You could be right about Benzema Geoff
but how could Arshavin be okay. He singlehandly took apart a Rangers defence camped in their own box(hehe like we play against every week in EPL).
I admit Nasri & BenArfa special but we have 20million like for an auction

  101. Geoff Says:

I’ll give you that Gavin, and I watched, he was great, but I told myself it was only Rangers, and they were shocking.

  102. GMR Says:

Arshavin has been ok throughout the UEFA cup but he has his own problems & at his age he isn’t going to get any better, can you say the same about Ben Arfa, Diego or Nasri??

Add to that the fact Zenit have more money than Chelski & you can see it would be no easy task to get him off them.

  103. BB Says:

Diego got a bad family ..his father tried to get his mother killed because apparently she was shagging anything male in a 5 miles radius around her .. the German cops are dealing with it and on top or maybe because of it, his 2nd half of the season was really crap
as far as Kompany is concerned, does signing an injury prone Bundesliga player not remind you of somebody???????????????????????What is it with the bloody Germans, Arsene?

  104. Trinidad_Gunner Says:

“Miralem Pjanic’s father has revealed that the 18-year-old will be transferred to Lyon next week, after having been linked to Arsenal and Barcelona”

So that means ben Arfa is on his way out, but I thought Nasri was going to be his replacement … or is both Ben Arfa and Nasri leaving France ?

  105. BB Says:

maybe both mate .. but I cant see us signing both .. hope we got Ben Arfa done and dusted by now.. I still think that Nasri is too close to Cesc..clearly he’s got talent, but just dont know
its also good and interesting to see that Cesc and Gael get new contracts, but not stinking Hleb.. clearly means he is gone as otherwise Arsene would have tried his best to tie him at the club
this could then still mean that Nasri will come .. who knows??
hope we get some talent in at least .. as so far we are not strengthening, rather replacing guys who leave us

  106. GMR Says:

Nasri said last week he wouldn’t play for another French club so that ruled him out of a move to Lyon.

Ben Arfa has made it clear he’ll only move for first team football & I can’t see Wenger agreeing to that.

Out of all those linked I think Nasri is probably the most likely, but will he cut it in the premier league. I’ve only seen him around 4 times & 2 of those times it was for France. We all know he’s skillful but Marseille seem just a little too happy to get rid of him, I know he has a buyout clause but why were the club so happy to release that info?? They put up a big fight for Ribery but for Nasri they haven’t bothered.

  107. Trinidad_Gunner Says:

True about marseille GMR, but about Ben Arfa and first team football, I don’t know. If Wenger wants him, he’ll convince him that he’ll play, and we are short of players anyway. if Hleb leaves, we need two wingers.

Diaby + Gilberto + Denilson will replace Flamoney
Song + New Signing will be CB cover
    Eboue + Sagna
    Clichy + Traore?

  108. Ja_Gunner Says:

GMR even if you say Arshavin wont get any better we still should sign him because as everyone said b4 we will not win mostly 21 year olds.

We a lil more expereince. This is where I would rate Arshavin over the rest.

However as you said Zenit is very rich, so this is the only reason that should prevent us from getting him if any.

Also as you said something is up with Nasri, weknow he is not the finsihed article and he does not look strong enough for the PL.

I say Nuri Sahin from Turkey…if we cant get Arshavin.

I say bring on Ben Arfa as well maybe Wenger can work on his personal side.

    I say Ben Arfa

    Arshavin/Sahin to replace Hleb

    Martesacker/Dunne

    and whoever else.

  109. Trinidad_Gunner Says:

Fabregas needs a rest now and then but will he buy more than one midfield player?

LW/RW , CM, and CB is needed
and if we get Yaya … even better

  110. patthegooner Says:

Ethan posed a very good question earlier

would you rather win the f.a cup or finish 3rd with nothing !!

i think the sad thing about the state of football is that 100% of Clubs would rather finish 3 or 4th and win nothing than come 5th but win one of the cups,

Even as a fan, Sure the emotion of seeing your club win the FA Cup is incredible but the Champions League has become such a lucrative competition that you just cant afford to be out of it. I bet if the 4th Champions League spot went to the FA Cup Winners, then there would have been 2 different teams out there today….

Oh and before the FA Cup this afternoon, I was rooting for the underdog Cardiff until they booed the National Anthem. Real shame given that the Pompey fans respected theirs.

    Well Done Pompey

  111. Ja_Gunner Says:

Trinidad I say if Rosciky is fit he should be used centrally to rest Cesc. Rosicky can be rotated with Ben Arfa on the left flank as well.

This would gradually get him back to match fitness.

Remeber Rosciky is not a winger he is a central attacking mid so I am sure he can be used to rest Cesc and rotate on the left wing until he is back fully.

  112. arsene knows Says:

FLAMINI? fucking total shit for 3 seasons thats why he was told to prove himself, and blimey he did, he had a fantastic season, but only one season…. so fuck him, arsene was totally right… he will make song as good as him or diaby, its what he does, remember… signings? anyone to score from midfield

  113. GMR Says:

I do like Arshavin, I said a few weeks back when Zenit played Bayer Leverkusen & ripped them apart in Germany that we should sign him. I only found out afterwards that apparently he suffers with mental problems at times & also about how rich Zenit are.

With regards Ben Arfa if Wenger signs him & has promised him games then judging by his attitude at Lyon he won’t put up with it & will create problems in exactly the same way as Diarra did!!

With Nasri I don’t know but certain reports say the Marseille fans have been on his back because his form has been awful. Is he really going to improve the squad now?? I’m not so sure.

  114. Ja_Gunner Says:

Hey is everybody forgetting about Dimitrov. Lately all the talk about BenArfa and Nasri has intensified.

Maybe you will see Dimitrov come in as the left winger under everybody’s nose.

I mean its a typical Wenger signing and he will surley much cheaper than the rest.

    Maybe 5-8mil

You just know Wenger will go for that.

  115. brendon gunner Says:

    hi everyone,
    great seeing harry winning today.

    by the way, just thought this was interesting;
i was reading tribalfootball (sh*t site, i know ) but there was a comment from a guy called Insider’ who says:
‘we will make 7 signings, 4 U21 players, 2 Of which are return loans, in Merida and Vela, One which revealed is Ben Afra, and the other one is from Man City, 2 Defensice Signings one of which could be Toure from barce, and the other could be Lassana Diarra IF his “Buy Back at Double fee” clause is activated by Wenger and one star signing, who is revealed to be French!! ‘

    &
’signings are 5-7 days away, arrivals arent due till pre season day 1, as 2 of our forthcoming signings have Euro committments.’

i firmly believe that he’s some weirdo or bored fans trying to stir up somethings but i remembered last season he said that eduardo and sagna were confirmed deals months before the official signings took place.
so we’ll just have to wait and see.
damn the curiousity is killing me!

  116. Stupid Says:

one of the red tops may be breaking the manure tapping of flamini tommrow !!

  117. wowo Says:

i hope we sign nasri….not as replacement for flamini but replacement for hleb or as backup if fabregas or rosicky injured…i rather give gilberto play for flamini places coz berto better than yaya n makoun n all holding players tht linked wit arsenal……..

  118. Chad Says:

flamini was nowhere near the first team last summer. why would wenger offer him a new contract and then say “prove yourself”? doesnt make sense.

fair play to flamini, he proved himself in spades and then chose to go for more money to what is probably in the top 3 biggest clubs in world. not exactly wengers fault or arsenals. if we start offering players like flamini 70,000 80,000 a week after one good season or wage bill would be astronomical.

  119. choy Says:

    7 players feck me…. roll onto august…

seems like we gonna have a french team!!!!!

  120. Geoff Says:

Believe it when you see it choy!

  121. GMR Says:

Olympique Marseille playmaker Samir Nasri fuelled media speculation linking him with a move to Arsenal next season by saying on Saturday he might have played his last game for his Ligue 1 club.

Asked to comment on a goal he scored against Racing Strasbourg in Saturday’s final round of fixtures, Nasri told French television: “It is very important because it is perhaps my last match at the Stade Velodrome.”

French sports daily L’Equipe reported on Friday that the 20-year-old, who has been compared with former France great Zinedine Zidane, was a target for Arsenal’s French manager Arsene Wenger.

The versatile midfielder extended his Marseille contract to 2012 earlier this month.

  122. usa_gooner Says:

    @ arsene knows
“FLAMINI? fucking total shit for 3 seasons thats why he was told to prove himself, and blimey he did, he had a fantastic season, but only one season…. so fuck him, arsene was totally right… he will make song as good as him or diaby, its what he does, remember… signings? anyone to score from midfield”

exactly what i would expect from an arsene knows fan…its easy to see your in denial…read my post above to catch what i mean….would you care to tell me who was the lest back on our way to the champions league final?….who the heck was playing that dreaded position against the best teams in europe …oh well i did say you were in denial….denial of the fact that arsene and the management go it wrong….they had one thing in mind before this season…oh we will keep him on the bench and see if a rt back or maybe a left back or a rt midfielder were required …..if so then we wouild play flamini and he would fill the gaps…they underestimated his talent and now he goes for free…..now you need to buy a new player 8 million plus wages ….all the guy was asking was for money worth his performances…now we see clichy, sagna, ade and cesc getting new deals….basically if arsene never rated the guy and you guys think he was shit and this was just a one off big season then none of the above have any right to claim he left arsenal for money….

btw i hate to burst that bubble created by every fan that their player would never leave…if madrid offered cesc 200 k vs our 60k …cesc would be packing his bags….haha and we have people hear saying that ohhh he is a gunner through and through…my ass…it all about money….who won the epl?….who will win the champions league final?…..oh and you can include FA cup in this too….pompey probably spent more on player transfers than us…ill check and get back on that….and what do we have 1 million and 2 million prospects who will come good in 7 yrs time…wonder if they will be off loaded before then….i would rather give flamini that salary and tell the kids to f off…..

  123. GMR Says:

Seen as Marseille have finished 3rd in the French league you can only assume he’d join another team thats also qualified for the CL or at least the qualifiers for it!!

  124. usa_gooner Says:

    left back correction…

  125. Geoff Says:

I hope the Nasri news is for real, I wanted him last season, great skills and an eye for goal, he is definitely one that could inherit the new Zidane title. And be ready right now, I’d sooner him than Hleb.

  126. GMR Says:

    usa_gooner,

Your sticking up for Flamini with what appears a very biased eye. Flamini had 1 good season from 4 so why did he deserve such a lucrative contract, Arsene told him to prove himself & had every right to do so??

After our cl run he flat out refused to play at left back again despite the fact at one point we were desperate, he should have been kicked out the club at that point but Wenger (stupidly) sticks by players.

Whatever way you look at it Flamini told Wenger he wanted to stay then he left, the guy is a liar & his attempt at a face saving article this morning didn’t con anyone with more than just a few braincells.

With regards that always up for it attitude you say he has, why don’t you take a look at why we got knocked out the CL & look at the half hearted tackle Flamini put in against Liverpool at the Emirates which resulted in them scoring. I wonder if that was due to the fact he was leaving & didn’t want to get injured.

As for your attacks on Cesc they don’t carry any value at all. He could have stayed at Barca & earn’t more money & he could have left Arsenal last summer for Real Madrid for a lot more in wages, he could also leave Arsenal next summer for a damn sight more in wages but instead he is signing a new deal. He loves the club & loves working under Wenger however he isn’t Arsenal through & through & never will be. It may well be he leaves when Wenger goes but don’t try putting him down with all this he’s only interested in money or isn’t up for games until we score, infact only someone who never watches games would say something like that!!

  127. Stupid Says:

not just saying this but i would 100000% prefer nasri to pleb.

takes a mean free kick from circa 20-25 yds to boot.

  128. usa_gooner Says:

ooooh i touched the “cesc is god” nerve much like the “arsene knows” clan….look please explain how fabregas was able to score more goals with flamini behind him than gilberto….if YOU watch the games closely you will see the amount of time cesc had to track back this season vs the previous….do some thinking yourself…..only an idiot gunner fan would be attacking cesc and if you cant read past the first lines about my cesc statements then dont read at all…..

my point was everything is about money….and all you muppets who think some players need to be kept vs others ….i dont give a shit who is kept as long as arsenal wins…i dont give a bloody damn if cesc is in the next arsenal champion league winning team as long as they are champions….and before GMR starts thinking i want cesc out i will say this read the para again….who won the epl, who will win the champions league, gosh who won the bloody FA cup (Pompey spent more than us in transfers over the yr)….people who are willing to spend money….we offered a 60 k contract to flamini ….he said 70k i think….that is 520k per yr…it will not make a big difference to arsenal in the long run to pay that but it would make a huge difference to flamini who will play only maybe 8 yrs more…..

I am not defending flamini…all im saying is stop the fucking abuse on the guy…he has left and who loses? flamini or arsenal …my concern is arsenal ….we now have to think of a player to buy…money to spend…wait for him to gel with the team….thats called fucking rebuilding… i thought we were past that stage….

alll im saying is that come out of that hood of imaturity and saying that flamini is lying that he didnt go for the money….who the fuck cares muppets ….even if he is lying ….but sadly you guys want a reason to vent your anger …..half of the guys are feeling happy that milan will not be in the CL next season…that shows the level we will stoop to……he is history so stop the abuse…and see what a big hole it will create in front of the dodgy defence we have…if you muppets think bertie and song will fill the role then good buy trophies next season…and yes i doubt cesc will stick around 2 more seasons without a trophy….

and for all you guys who think we should get rid of hleb…get nasri benarfa or diego or some wonder kid …..listen up….there is an arsenal way of play which is hard to adaopt to when you play in the EPL….it will take time for these guys i think less for diego….but that would mean a new winger with a new defensive midfielder…I THOUGHT WE WERE PAST THE REBUILDING STAGE….

hleb shouldnt go unless he hauls his blody ass out of our team…we havent heard from hleb himself and there we freaking go complaining because the press printed his managers comments….Arsene should have a chat and ask him straight “where is your ass gonna be next season?” ….

whats hilarious is people saying oh we should let hleb go he cant score and get nasri or diego…pulling things from our asses are we…how many goals have they scored in the EPL? none why? because they havent played in the EPL….they arnt proven….hleb creates a lot of chances …and if you go over the season and check the chances created by hleb over the season that are missed by adebayor ..you guys will be horrified…people who dont know the stats regarding assists …you only get it if the other guy finishes….

Fuck Flamini … he’s saying he wasn’t decided until the minute he jumped on a plane, I wonder if he just showed up unexpectedly in Milan …. and then he says Arsenal missed their chance last year.

So which is it? He knew from the start that this was his last season at Arsenal

  131. Trinidad_Gunner Says:

We want Hleb out because we don’t want another Flamini case. it seems that he’s not happy here, so either he signs a new contract, or we get 15 Mil for him, otherwise he will run down his contract and fuck off for free.
Get the money, and replace with better. He is not the best player in the world, he can be replaced.

    GMR

“With regards that always up for it attitude you say he has, why don’t you take a look at why we got knocked out the CL & look at the half hearted tackle Flamini put in against Liverpool at the Emirates which resulted in them scoring. I wonder if that was due to the fact he was leaving & didn’t want to get injured”

brilliant…so everyone GMR has finally cracked the code…after his detective work he has come up with the reason of our champions league loss to Liverpool…..FLAMINI !!!!…you know arsenal could do with a guy who finds out reasons for loses…there we were blaming the refs …now suddenly when flamini leaves its because of him…did you even watch the milan game….oh no you mean he did that to impress the milan people…..you mean a player would give up the chance to win the champions league get injured so that he can secure a contract in the future……brilliant detective work…pulling things from our asses are we…

easier saying fuck off rather than admitting a mistake…wenger himself admitted that…yet you would like to feel better by blaming rather than admitting it was our fault that he left without getting us money….

no YOU want hleb out because of preposterous reasons….your talking like the best players in the world want to come to arsenal…wake up they dont because they dont get paid shit….hleb is not the best player in the world I agree but he would be in the top 15 midfielders….who would you replace him with ben arfa is the only guy who has said he would want to move..diego and nasri are bloody speculations…all you guys do is surf the net for crap sites like tribal football and then come up with replacements who arnt even proven in the premier league…..or maybe you think jack wilshere can fill the boots next season….

  134. Paulinho Says:

U.S.A Gooner. Totally agree regarding Hleb. People had no problem with him when players were converting his good work earlier in the season.

  135. usa_gooner Says:

paulinho…thankyou ..not for supporting my claim…

but for giving a logical reason behind the claim….most people just post a fuck off we dont need you and feel good….

hleb in the first half season was scoring goals and making assists…the whole gunner fan base was singing his praise…..later he wasnt getting the same support from eboue to take the pressure off him…we should remember ljunberg used to make the marauding runs to the box because he knew that bobby would give the perfect ball …so if thierry missed he would be there…so you need the other flank for support …secondly most quality players can change flanks…hleb we know can but when playing with eboue he doesnt have the luxury so if he gets bogged down on one side he has to wait 75-80 mins(dunno why wenger doesnt do early subs) for theo to come on before he can think of switching flanks….also if people remember hleb started the season from the right….

lesson learnt?….buy quality reserves so when rosicky got injured and replaced by eboue the whole burden didnt fall on hleb….if he is unsettled is because we dont have the experience and quality reserves to win the cups….seriously how many think we can win the cups with this team alone and loss of flamini….

the reason for being pissed off is the fans who are bloody fickle and after reading bullshit in the media start calling for heads to fall….
