Ok, there were a few contenders for this and I even included a player from last season, so the finalists were…
Thierry’s reaction to being wedgied by Messi… again
Thierry Henry – Thierry gets on the list because he was still an Arsenal player at the end of last season and he gets nominated for his dreadful decision making. I warned him, if you go you won’t… take free kicks or corners anymore, you won’t be their best player, you won’t score as many goals, they won’t sing your name and you sure as hell won’t be a legend. You will however get jeered often and be a sub for long parts of the season. Thierry, you should have listened.
Judas would have blushed at flamini’s disloyalty
Matty Flamini – He was a tosser and a greedy narsissic delusional twat and will spend most of his time on the bench, he’ll get found out when he runs up blind alleys and continually gets booked. Without the telepathic young kids of Arsenal to make him look good he will fall quicker that the Pound against the Euro. Add that to fans favourite Gattuso, eagerly waiting in the wings, and the future doesn’t look so good.
Flaking on his contract?
Hleb – He makes the list for his discussions in Milan behind our back, he’s done an Ashley and frankly with no Ade like denials forthcoming, is finished with the fans. Another one made to look good by his team mates, lots of skill, no end product, swap him for Ya Ya or 10 Woodbines and a book of matches.
The ball looked a little like Almunia’s head…
Jens Lehmann – Made the list for his bad behaviour but saved himself with his emotional goodbye’s at the Grove against Everton.
Muppet…
Eboue – Another work in progress I’m afraid, his theatrics and uselessness put him right up there, him and his adopted dad seem to be the only two in the world that think he can play football. Do the right thing Emanuel and fall on your sword.
I hear the Championship is fun, mwhaha!
Taylor – Anyone can accidentally break someones leg on purpose…
‘Oops…I’m really sorry, I didn’t mean to get caught.’
This inbred goes on the list becuase he didn’t actually say sorry.
…So after much thought and many deliberations there is only one winner… take it away Matty, never look back and I hope you have a shit time in Milan, you ungrateful, spoilt, greedy, disloyal whore.
I’m sure you all have your own contenders, but in the main, we’re happy with our choice, tomorrow we do Le Champ of the season.
Remember to sign up to our all singing, all dancing mailing list… It actually doubles your attractiveness… honestly, it doubles it!
See you in the comments section!

Just responding to the praise of Mourinho Arsenaldo, praise he scantily deserves just because he spent money and won. We all know what Mourinho did, got the first goal
and killed the rest of the game. Thats why Abramovich got rid of him, he had enough of it, his style of football is the equivalent in architecture to a 1960′s council flat tower block, easy to build, gets the job done buy why not build an elegant modern skyscraper that also does the job and is something to be admired. That’s what we’re doing at Arsenal, we’re actually competing to be the best footballing team, not just mark your man and wear them out, that’s not playing the game, it’s anti-football.
Joseph, show us the stats… I don’t believe they exist.
He made 20 prem starts this year, 5 more than Rosicky… in a 38 game season.
He is far from pivotal.
theo and rosicky definitely contribute less to our season comparing to eboue. They played less minute.
Theo will get his starts next season so will a healthy rosicky. This will push Eboue to the bench. Song is going to shine with flamini gone. Having said that, it was a team with eboue and flamini that gave us our most successful season in years. This is fact.
anyways, i am backed Pedro. Can’t believe you guys are still here.
“theo and rosicky definitely contribute less to our season comparing to eboue. They played less minute.”
LOL
Arenaldo the Chavs spent 200 in one season 300 in 3 at least the others spread it, apart from Terry every player was a top player brought in and two teams worth too, any cunt could do that…well he did, didn’t he!
Yeah I agree Gidster that Almunia isn’t in the top 20 keepers in the world, but he isn’t a long term plan. Top keepers are very hard to find. We’ve been spoilt with Seaman and then the signing of Lehmann was amazing business. However now to buy a Buffon/Casillas quality keeper would take up our entire budget, which we need to use elsewhere. Wenger feels that Fabianski will become a top top keeper, so Almunia is only in temporarily whilst Fabianski develops a bit.
Arsenaldo I defend Senderos and Eboue because I get incredibly irritated by the same idiots who jumped on bandwagons attacking Adams when he first came into the side, and in the last couple of years the likes of Hleb, Adebayor, Bendtner, and for England Hargreaves and Crouch now gunning for Senderos and Eboue. Even if people don’t rate the players, which is a matter of opinion, they ridiculously overreact with their level of criticism and hatred. Senderos was a better defender than Toure and Gallas the second half of the season, cost less goals and less points, yet Senderos is the only one that gets lambasted. Eboue was a necessary inclusion for the majority of the season due to injuries.
finestcuts, laughing at fact may make yourself look stupid.
What does playing more minutes mean?
His introduction to the first team coincided with our demise right?
I think calling third place, quarters of the CL and a semi final of the carling cup a successful season is pretty poor.
Flamini is a good player, I wont deny that… Eboue did not contribute anything to the team. Unless you have some stats, bar minutes (I seem to remember Eboue mostly getting subbed after 60minute) – I don’t think you have a case?
Mental strength and games by default is your argument.
I don’t care about Eboue stats the fact that he dives and acts like a prick when he gets booked is an embarrassment to AFC out him.
chill out lads…
so any transfer news… its been quiet today!
Pedro you must at least agree that Eboue was very solid defensively on the right hand side of midfield?
Joseph:
“theo and rosicky definitely contribute less to our season comparing to eboue. They played less minute.”
You wrote contribute…which means in general. Did you mean contributed?
I find it amusing that you’re able to deduce playing time as a “contribution”,
we clearly have different ways of concluding what a player’s “contribution” is.
You’re welcome to believe I’m stupid, you don’t know what you’re dealing with
I don’t know if he is? With Sagna at right back… it is difficult to tell?
Sagna, now there is a player.
the main reason i do not like eboue is he does not give in his best..
he’s sulking when passes are not hit right… he makes stupid tackles and then goes on his knees to the ref.. and he is lazy… and dives a lot..
he might be playing out of position but the least he can do is try and give it a 100%…
thats why he takes the piss!
Pedro i can’t agree on our season being a disappointment. Spurs was a disappointment, we weren’t.
Playing more minutes mean they contribute more to the final result, winning or losing.
I agree david, his theatrics are embarrassing, and i cant believe he hasn’t had a telling off by toure to stop him acting in such a way. In terms of his contribution to the team, attacking wise he contributed very little this season, however in terms of the contribution to the team overall I’d say he was superior to freddie in his last two years at the club, yet freddie never received the extent of the abuse. Possibly because of Eboue’s idiocy with diving etc??
Sagna is one hell of a player, but it was noticable that his impact going forward diminished greatly when Eboue wasn’t on the pitch, as Eboue slotted back into the right back role when Sagna went forward so naturally
finestcut i don’t think you are stupid, i just don’t want you make yourself look stupid.
I just explained contribution in the previous post.
You can be the best player in the world but you can’t contribute if you were injured or sitting on the bench.
Pedro,
Great minds think alike!!!
A: completely agree with the analysis of the defence. I used to pray that JT’s name was on the teamsheet when we played Chelsea early in his career. Henry would toast him every time. Not any more…
Woodgate is another prime example. He hasnt tightened the Spurs ship any since his arrival. But no criticism. Big Phil may well have “a Phil moment” in most games, but so does Kolo. Kolo does basic things wrong sometimes, and is often really wild in the challenge. And Gallas, whilst often very good, is also often very bad too. No one gave it the old “drogba’s got his number” after he coughed up 2 goals at The Bridge this year. But when Drogba scores a screaming header in front of Phil from a brilliant cross, we (and the commentators too!) can only see Phil in a bad light.
It seems very unfair on Phil. The only thing I would criticise Phil for is that he seems to have a thin skin. But the criticism got to Tony too… in a big way.
Spurs won something Joseph… It may only have been the carling cup, but it is still a measure of their season. They didn’t need to finish 5th once they bagged that.
Playing more minutes because others are injured does mean you have contributed… but that doesn’t mean his contribution was better than Rosicky’s or Theo’s.
You need to tell me he makes more passes, more tackles, more assists… goals…
He doesn’t though? There are no compelling statistics to justify his position becuase if there were, Wenger would tell us just like he used to with Henry and co.
Can Ben Arfa do a bit of defending whilst Sagna overlaps?
I think that the only reason Theo dosen’t start he just cannot cover for Sagna.
will people stop tallking about eboue qualities he has none!!!!!!!!! watch him roll around go down clutching his calf or Knee when he gets tackled , he looses the ball and refuses to track back he IS A CUNT , Please dont try and tell me he’s a good defender either thats why we bought Sagna ,EBOUE CANT DEFEND, as a right winger tell me
A. How many goals did he Score?
B. How many assist’s did he make last year, I can think of two The crosses for ade at villa, and newcastle , Thats all that come to my mind..
C,How many times did he give the ball away in dangerous area’s Remember Gerrads Goal at the grove in the champs league?
I would rather see the Ladies right back play there than the waste of space eboue,Hoyte is not top class either but he will die for the shirt this cannot be said about the CHEAT….
and as far as the Romford PELE goes REMEMBER THE CUP FINAL GOAL HE SCORED TO FINISH OFF THE CHAVS,,HE RAN HIMSELF INTO THE GROUND WHENEVER HE PULLED ON THE RED AND WHITE this would never happen with eboue end off…
Wrighty, do you mean Sagna being a great player… or Eboue being a poor one?
Sorry guys doesn’t look like it’s Ben Arfa:
The agent of Lyon starlet Hatem Ben Arfa has told skysports.com that the talented playmaker has been offered a very lucrative contract by Tottenham Hotspur, although its not guranteed he will leave Lyon for England.
Ben Arfa, an 18-year midfielder who has already been burdened with the tag of being the ‘New Zidane’, has reportedly been watched by Arsenal, Barcelona, Tottenham & Chelsea this season.
However, despite his prodigious talents, reports in France have suggested Lyon have grown disgruntled by Ben Arfa’s attitude – with a fee of 15 million the figure desired by his current paymasters.
Dutch giants Ajax were also thought to be monitoring the situation – having expressed interest last season – but agent Frederic Guerra has moved to refute such suggestions.
When quizzed on the future of his client, Guerra was bullish in his appraisal of the situation and certain that Ben Arfa would not be moving to Holland.
”No, he is not going to Holland,” Guerra told skysports.com.
”He has a lucrative offer from Tottenham and will be flying in for talks and a medical after the Coupe de France”
A – where is your evidence that Sagna played better with Eboue.? IMNO he played best with Rosicky.
And the reasons I dislike him are :
1.The stats show how poor his contribution to the team is.
2. His ‘mental strength ? The man has no real fight in him (OK – I will give you the Terry kicking and the Ronaldo tackle)
3. His total lack of calm in front of goal – he shits himself
4. His inability to hit a cow’s arse when crossing (one cross does not make a season
5. And this is the real reason…. he is an embarassment to the shirt. His antics upon getting touched, his feigned innocence upon fouling, his praying to the unjust gods when a decision goes against him. It is just pathetic
Fuck me… spurs want everyone this year!
Where do they get all their money from?
Ben Arfa is older than 18… poor journalism.
Joseph, to me a players contribution amounts to the quality (technical skills, tactical awareness, fair play, difference to the final result etc.) they display while on the pitch.
“You can be the best player in the world but you can’t contribute if you were injured or sitting on the bench.”
You can be the 12th man and cheer them to victory! But yes you’re quite right, I didn’t think of that before.
“finestcut i don’t think you are stupid, i just don’t want you make yourself look stupid.”
Thanks for taking me under your wing bruv.
Raddy… you are my hero.
Nail on the head.
Poor journalism, thats sky for you!! I think thats their trademark
I never claimed his contribution was better than Rosicky’s or Theo of late. Therefore he will be benched next season. What i said is he contributed more in our best season, “footballistically”.
A part of the history of arsenal is we always honor our players. I surely wish we all could do the same.
Pedro, should i take you mean you would rather switch our position with spurs?
Thats what I think he means Joseph, you’re our Sherlock.
Simon and Pedro
I’m sure stats wise Eboue will have done a hell of a lot of tackles, much more than theo or whoever else would have played right mid and he slots in at right back incredibly well for Sagna, they can interchange the whole time. As i said – Ljungberg played for two years offering nothing offensively to the team, and nothing defensively either!! At least Eboue is very strong defensively for a midfielder, and gives Sagna a massive amount of freedom. Ljungberg never got the stick Eboue has, and he was actually first choice, rather than someone who was put in because of injuries!!
Pedro,
I agree on both counts, also about the sore subject of Lewin. The man performed miracles to save Dudu but why all the longetivity with the injuries all the time?
And Pedro – do you honestly think spurs had a more successful season than us purely because of winning a shiny little cup by beating a bunch of reserves?! The league cup is a complete irrelevance, there’s no pride in winning it. The only way I’d feel any different if we’d won it is finding it funny and feeling sorry for how humiliated the opposition must have felt at being so inferior to our reserves and youth! The league cup is nothing, at all
A. ….I think we are going over old ground here. Freddie gave us a few fantastic years, and is an Arsenal hero.
One must compare like with like. Try a fit young Freddie and a fit young Eboue.
I rest my case
Now I agree with the Sp*rs comment !
bigraddy sagna never played with rosicky. when rosicky was fit he was left mid, hleb right
That sounds like you are saying Eboue contributed more than rosicky and walcott… definitely. Footballistically, he didn’t contribute more. Minutes wise he did.
By that token you would say he contributed more than RvP because he played more games… even though RvP bagged 14 or so goals?
No, I would not swap our position but to say Spurs had poor season isn’t true. They won something for the first time in about 10 years and they qualified for Europe. They have bragging rights over us… they have a trophy.
A, Freddie scored 46 goals for us.
Freddie was a legend A… one of the best at one point. He was a threat regardless of his form during the tail end of his career.
A, if Eboue is so great at RB, why does Arsene put Kolo there?
As to Lewin, any fully trained physio would have preserved Dudu’s leg in the same circumstances.
We have to ask why other teams injuries take less time to heal. My guess is that Lewin is ‘ seeking new challenges’ just like Edelman.
In other words, ….. the Spanish Archer
They had a good season FOR THEM. They certainly don’t have bragging rights over us in any way in my opinion. Their first team beat a team which we put out consisting of reserves/youth, and first team players playing like it was a friendly, not wanting to get injured, avoiding 50/50 tackles etc! Considering all their talk of getting 4th place at the start of the season in my eyes we have bragging rights over them massively, we beat them the only two times it mattered, including battering them 3-1 at their place!
People… in a Spurs fans eyes, they had a good year. End of.
so who will we have for RM next year then..
just theo and eboue? again?
‘Pedro i can’t agree on our season being a disappointment. Spurs was a disappointment, we weren’t.’
That was what I was replying to.
And our season was a massive disappointment!
Rosicky and Theo…
Can Vela play there? Merida? Gibbs? Randall? One of the ladies?
Finest and Pedro in his last two seasons Freddie was as poor as Eboue has been this season without offering anything defensively, and he was first choice whoever was fit! Regardless of what he’d done before his performance in any given season should still be analysed on its merits, not those of his past years. And even though he was a legend – I’m not asking why people didn’t think he was a prick etc like they do with Eboue, but why there weren’t the complaints about his selection.
Eboue wasn’t put back to right back when Sagna got injured because of 2 reasons – firstly that Arsene knew Toure had become a liability at centre back but wanted to keep him in the team for his experience etc, and secondly because he wanted to keep eboue right mid for his defensive attributes
i thought rosicky plays on the left…
gibbs and vela are LW…
randall ? don’t know…
barazite? or jack w?
If Chelsea don’t win the CL, Tottenham will be the only club in London to have won a trophy this season.
If the Carling Cup is so easy to win, why don’t we win it every year. Spurs had the advantage over us, they played their first team, and Wenger should have adjusted the team in accordance with the oppositions technical ability. For the academical purpose of seeing how could we’d be with the team we put out, he chucked away the chance of us winning some silverware. Spurs had a flukey final, and at the time Chelsea had lots of injury problems of their own, but they still beat Chelsea.
The Carling cup is a trophy WE can win, why chuck it away?
Fuck me….. 500 posts already. And the Asian connection isn’t awake yet !
A, Freddie helped make history at the club, he was a title winner, the fans respected him.
Eboue CONSISTENTLY fails to add quality to our game, his greatest contribution to Arsenal has been bad publicity.
Pedro, do you mean 4 points from winning the league, and an improvement from 68 pts to 83 pts a disappointment?
or just our failure after that birmingham game a disappointment?
Back to Freddie. In his final season people did think he was a waste of space , and seeing his name on the teamsheet led to sighs of disappointment.
But Freddie never dived to the ground pretending he had been arse-shafted. Eboue does and thats’s why people call him a cunt
It’s not real silverware!! If we wanted to win it every year we could make it our priority, and do so very very easily!! It has not more credibility for a top team than the Emirates cup! It’s only in england that there’s this obsession with silverware, the point of silverware is to signify the best team, most countries’ domestic cups are treated by the big clubs as a complete irrelevance, and they don’t play full teams in them, or win them the vast majority of the time, let alone the back up domestic cup! It’s like magpies’ obsession with shiny things rather than rational success!!
finest i think arsene got it wrong when he started with nick and theo upfront… and gallas and hoyte as CB against keane and berbatov!!!.. wtf…
Freddie was a great player, I can just hope Theo can play like him on the flanks next season.
hey, mauro zarate is linked with a loan deal i can see this actually happening
I’m guessing Gary Lewin has far more to do with on the spot treatment of players, then its down to the various Docs to diagnose and treat their injuries. As Physio he may be again involved later on once they begin their rehabilation, but again I doubt he has much to do with giving them the green light to return to the game, that will be down to the Doctor
Blaming Lewin for the injuries is plain daft: he’s commonly viewed as being the finest the English game can offer, hence his place on the English bench. He’s definately on the Champ side of the end of season analysis, and shame on people for suggesting otherwise
finest
I know freddie did, and his overall contribution to the club was immense. But people’s opinions about his past, and personality, should not affect their rational analysis of his performances and contribution to the team, just as with eboue people shouldn’t be prejudiced about his performances because of him being a nobhead!!
boys, do u forget simpson???????? he was briliant this season, and also named player of the championship. arsene trust in this boy he”s got a talent!!
Ok, ok – this is beyond a joke.
Eboue, was – depsite our great run to the ECL final, very OFTEN found about 60yds from where he was meant to be. This is NO excuse to keep him.
I won’t make any assumptions as to how many games “A” has been to this season, but it is plain to see Eboue DOES NOT TACKLE, he jogs back and ‘floats around’ the opposition player with the ball, he doesn’t jockey, he doesn’t defend goal-side, he doesn’t tackle and he doesn’t drop to RB when Sagna overlaps. Defensively he’s an abomination.
When we are attacking, he runs with his head down until AdeBarnDoor calls him, at which point the focus of his tunnel vision changes from ‘corner flag’ to ‘my best bum chum’. He flooks 3 decent crosses a season, scores NONE, and at best delivers 2-3 assists. His inability to beat *THE FIRST DEFENDER* with a cross is staggering. In fact he hits them so perfectly squarely that the ball almost never ricochets off for a corner or back into play.
Then we can observer his on-field antics. A butterfly flaps it’s wings in the south pacific and Eboue is felled by the resulting (invisible) gale-force hurricane – which always seems to hit him squarely in the face as he rolls around like a pig in shit. His kidney height kick on Evra was disgraceful.
Eboue is a cancer in the team, he brings nothing positive (can’t defend, assist, score) and more often than not the move breaks down around him. Furthermore he is so relentlessly selfish and jealous of Sagna that when Sagna gives him a 1-2 he will NEVER return the ball. Instead he turns around and looks for the lanky streak of piss we have the misfortune to be lumbered with called AdeBarnDoor.
Oh – and in closing – when he misses a shot or key pass – he has the audacity to turn around and grin like a fucking spastic and hold two thumbs up to the other frontrunner for most inept, accursed anathema to ever walk the planet, Ade.
I genuinely hope they both fuck off in the summer
kokaia
simpson was the player of league 1 not the championship, that isn’t that much of an achievement. He’ll move to a championship club or a promoted prem side at the very very best. He won’t ever get close to making it at arsenal
superb Alex
I’ve been to plenty of games this season thanks Alex, and Eboue slots back into right back anytime Sagna’s up the pitch and we lose possession, and tackles much more than anyone else who would play on either flanks for us.
In our run to the champions league final he completely nullified the threats of both Robinho and Nedved twice, his performances against both of those players was absolutely incredible
A, it’s often been called the Mickey Mouse cup and I can see your point, but my point is about winning every competition we can. It’s not the trophy itself, it’s the act of winning a competition. Surely it’s a greater shame to refuse to take part than to take an opportunity to win a competition. Whatever the name of the cup or the competition, we should be of the mentality that we should win every game, regardless of whether it’s a friendly or a competitive fixture, to me that’s the ethos of Arsenal, winning and not “allowing” other teams to win a competition that we’re capable of. We’re not a team that needs to make sacrifices to win other competitions, a Carling Cup trophy would be a psychological boost to all our players, winning is a habit and one that should be acquired and kept up at all available opportunity.
Carling Cup is not junk but is the least valuable trophy among the 4. The only reason we didn’t send our best team out to win it was we didn’t want to stretch on our first team.
We conscientiously chose to place our second team our to save energy for the first team. This was a gamble and we lost.
That still leads us to the same question, do you want to switch with spurs?
Joseph, I mean leading the premiership until 13 games to go… then choking and blowing the season.
Major disappointment. Wenger’s biggest disappointment in fact, mine too.
With Freddie, at least there was always a danger of him recapturing his form.
Comparing Eboue to Freddie is just as outrageous as comparing Eboue to Parlour. You can’t compare trophy winning legends to Eboue.
Eboue offers nothing, never has, never will.
Do you really think Wenger would put a weaker player in defence just to keep experience in the team? No way… he plays the best players he can… otherwise Gilberto would have filled in for Senderos. Why not put Toure in midfield for his defensive qualities? Toure has pace, can shoot (Kick ball towards goal hard) and probably cross better than Eboue.
And A… people are not prejudiced because of his personality, the are not prejudice… they are calling a spade a spade. He is useless and his personality makes him even more annoying!
Finestcuts, fair shout on the Carling Cup… we never win it do we?
Anyway… it’s been fun debating with you guys. Who said Le Grove block you if you disagree with the authors?
Good luck getting to 600!
I am off.
I may sneak on later!
Happy blogging.
Wesley Sneijder’s brother is playing for Netherlands U-17 … Wenger should snap him up
:)
Good shout Alex.
A- By your own admission silverware acknowledges the best team. The best team in the CC was Spurs. Maybe irrelevant but what competition was Arsenal best in??
This seasons european domestic cups:
France: PSG, final of the other cup between Lyon & PSG. (both massive names in France despite PSG not doing so well nowdays)
Spain: Valencia (Big name)
Italy: the final’s between Inter Milan & Roma (1st & 2nd in league)
Germany: DFB Pokal won by Bayern Munich.
How does that relate to the big names in europe not taking domestic cups seriously??
Pedro, I hate to talk behind your back but you can reply me when you are back.
If you are disappointed by being 4 points from winning the league, and an improvement from 68 pts to 83 pts, then our season was a disappointment and we need a revolution.
If you are disappointed by just our failure after being leading for so long, while we had exceed your expectation in the beginning of the year, then it is not the end of the world. It means our squad is basically good and we only need a tweak or 2.
Pedro, with a healthy Rosicky, dudu, van persie and a improved theo, can we get 4 more points? You tell me?
A i’m sorry mate ,im withFinest and pedro and alex on the eboue subject mate , pedro has nailed it again ,
EBOUE IS A DISGARCE TO THE SHIRT ,
THINK OF SOME OF THE GREAT RM’S IN THE LAST 30 YEARS AT OUR CLUB
GEORDIE A,
ROCKY (LEGEND)
FREDDIE
RAY P
THEY HAVE ALL LEFT POSITIVE MARKS AT THE CLUB
EBOUE NEVER HAS NEVER WILL……………..
Perhaps if Eboue got a Gallas haircut and dyed it like Freddie he might be more liked!
if he would make an attempt and stop acting like a baby he might be more liked!!!
Joseph, I can’t say for certain & I certainly don’t want to put words in Pedro’s mouth, but from his previous comments over many posts I’d say he doesn’t see this league season as a complete disaster but that he wants to challenge for all trophies available not just 1 or 2. You start the season with a chance of winning 4 trophies & there’s no reason we shouldn’t have a squad capable of making a great challenge for each.
I think Pedro’s said several times he’d be happy with 3 new signings. Of course though I could be wrong!!
That Snickers advert with Mr T springs to mind .
Joseph, for me to be ahead for so long and then to die away when the pressure was on, that for me is a disappointment, an improvment on last season, for sure but that is by doing poor last season,
pedro will no doubt confirm what we all think and a few improvments are needed,
AW himself does not judge his success on others but on what he achievs, chelsea and man u did nto have good starts,
“But I don’t think about Arsenal now, I am just focused on Portsmouth. We have reached the final and that is why I am here. I hope I can win more this season than Arsenal have – but we’ll have to see.”
that prick diarra, go fuck your self,
please can we all get over this guy,
One more defensive stat which proves Eboue isn’t as helpful defensively as perhaps some might assume. He was brought in to help us defensively to strike the right “balance” in the team overall, right?
Are Portsmouth better than Arsenal (rhetorical question)?
Lets compare their Right Winger’s stats with ours.
Portsmouth:
RW = Krancjar
EPL minutes played = 2854 = 37.7 games played
Clean sheets = 15
Clean sheet every 2.11 games
Arsenal:
RW = Eboue
EPL minutes played = 1651 = 18.3 games played
Clean sheets = 8
Clean sheet every 2.29 games
Fact: Arsenal have LESS chance of a clean sheet than Portsmouth when Eboue plays on Right Wing.
Does anyone think that we can get Zarate on a one year loan?
http://www.guardian-series.co.uk/sport/arsenal/arsenalnews/display.var.2271257.0.gunners_boss_keen_on_zarate.php
Reports in Spain on Wednesday linked Arsenal striker Emmanuel Adebayor with a move to Barcelona. Here’s his response:
“I don’t know why people want to put words in my mouth. As I said on Friday, I love Arsenal and I will be here next season.
“I am off to Togo tomorrow but will return to Arsenal for pre-season training in July.”

and this is bizarre
A SUSPICOUS white powder that arrived in a package at Arsenal Football Club’s training ground this morning was not dangerous.
Staff at the training ground in London Colney feared the package contained a lethal substance and immediately called the emergency services at around 11.55am.
Tests revealed the substance was not dangerous but police are treating the incident as malicious.

Hemel Hempstead fire crew, who were covering at St Albans fire station today, were on stand-by to decontaminate anyone but were not needed.
Simon Feldman, a police spokesman, said: “The package was sent through the post and then opened by staff.
“We are investigating this as malicious communication.”
The main entrance to the ground in Bell Lane was closed off until 1.15pm.
It is not known who the package was addressed to.

As I pre-stated – I’m making no assumptions as to the frequency of your attendance “A”, but clearly either I and 59,998 other “one-eyed” fans are missing these ‘great defensive’ moments in Eboue’s repertoire – or you are seeing things that aren’t happening.
I suggest, as an example of “how it should be done” you watch the way Carlos Tevez (the forward) defends from a STRIKER position, and, so you have a middle ground to compare against on the perpetually downsliding scale, the efficiency of a thalidomide ostrich on it’s back trying to run. Then compare it to your favoured Eboue, who exists some 20 fathoms below the maligned fowl.
I HATE to dislike Arsenal players, but I despise Eboue and I find Ade abhorrent.
Eboue used to be a right back. And his last season in that position was good. Lapses in concentration cost us. It cost him his place. You cannot deny he has defensive qualities, pace and works hard for the team. He was subject to a 10m inquiry (if you believe the press) from Milan.
In him we have decent cover for right back and right mid in ONE player. He’ll never be world class, but do back up players have to be?
Joseph the reason that we are disappointed with our season is because we won fuck all. I don’t care how many points we got the Mancs and chavs got more, the spuds won the carling cup and the FA cup is between two shit clubs.
I don’t spend my money going to the Grove to see how many points we get, I go to see us win silverware.
If your happy with finishing third, fine, I’m not and neither are most people on this site.
A, Eboue is shit, as again most people on this site agree, if he was that good, we wouldn’t have bought Sagna, he is not a winger, he’ll be okay as a spare right back but not as a winger.
His best position is back in Belgium, where I preferred him.
Archavin , the St petersburgh player maker look a real deal, he was heavily linked with Arsenal back in january.
I hope he’s one the 220 players that want to join us.
He is a third or even fourth choice right back behind Kolo and he is should never wear an Arsenal shirt.
Even when he goes down in the box we have no hope of a penalty because refs know he is a serial diver.
I used to think this site attacked Wenger for no reason but in this instance they are spot on..
He does look good I’ll give you that but would he be in our league?
I love the fact that Rangers fans wear the Union flag, unlike those cunts from Celtic.
The announcer at the game is an irritating cunt isn’t he?
Okay I’m done talking to myself, I’m off!
hey…!!!
I think so Geoff, The Russian league has gradually picked up in the last 4 or 5 years !
He’s two footed and very quick, think he’d do well in the premiership!
its quiet in here
Bit late in the day but I’d split my vote for Chump of the year betwen the scottish commentator on the Brum v Arsenal game and “Tiny” Taylor.
The former becasue the way he was talking he made it sound like it was always Arsenal’s players faults for getting hacked/kicked becasue “they held onto the ball for too long”
The latter for obvious reasons.
Brum FC – rot in Championship hell this year and take your porn baron owner with you (further down the leagues you scum) !
haha good rant charybdis
The commentator obviously thinks quality football consists of “kick and run” as practised by the Salford Red Sox.
A member of the media ejaculating over ManUre – what a surprise !
Abdenor, I agree, Arshavin looks like class
Why is the Daily Mail running a real anti Arsenal campaign?? Its getting really boring now.
Adebayor on the website says:
Reports in Spain on Wednesday linked Arsenal striker Emmanuel Adebayor with a move to Barcelona. Here’s his response:
“I don’t know why people want to put words in my mouth. As I said on Friday, I love Arsenal and I will be here next season.
“I am off to Togo tomorrow but will return to Arsenal for pre-season training in July.”
Then this evening the Daily Mail continue their pathetic campaign to ruin the club with their new story about Ade being desperate to join Barca:

haha…
news is that traore is going out on loan to pompey…
does that in any way mean that we are getting krancjar?
Finest looking at the stats you posted Eboue had half the games and half the clean so I hope you mean that Krancjar is as useless as Eboue
“sheets”
GMR, I suspect either the Daily Mail has a spud/chav/manc sports editor or they have a vested interest in destabilising us.
But as I’ve said before, f**k the rest of the world, “we are Arsenal, Super Arsenal, no one (in the media) likes us, we don’t care.
Have to say I absolutely loved it when Birningham city went down. Hopefully they are completely fucked now for the rest of their history and will not get another sniff of the premier league until it has been exported to Japan for a season by Scudamore. That’ll teach the wankers to send out players with the instructions like “You Matty!, as soon as you get a chance do that little Brazillian guy good style. Clip him hard!!”
Big Eck?, more like oh Eck!!
Another blog is saying we are letting Song go on loan for a year. Does that mean a centre half is on his way?
i read that somewhere too…
but i dont think song needs to go out on loan…
david.. where have you been… a CB is a definite signing this summer!!!!
Ben Arfa was a definite yesterday now Spurs seem to have stepped in.
I just want to see Wenger next to a quality player with a shirt with his name on at the Emirates, and with Song going it makes me feel more confident that he is going to be good cos I think he rates Song.
I think that Song would be a good squad player for us next season we should hold on to him
good night folks!
Terry, my point was to show how playing with Eboue DOESN’T improve us defensively and makes us just as vulnerable as a mid-table team in defence using the minutes to clean sheets ratio. With the welcome news of Rosicky’s comeback in August we won’t be needing either Rosicky or Krancjar (hopefully we won’t have Walcott and Rosicky injured/unavailable at the same time, otherwise diamond geezer Eboue will take the slot).
With bread off to some small town club (maybe Villareal might be more his scene), or so he’d like us to believe, we need a replacement on left wing. We already have Carlos Vela, just one more top class winger and we’re ready to fight for trophies again.
I read the news about Traore and Song on young guns. The chap who writes that blog gives off the impression that he has inside info, we’ll have to wait and see how accurate his reports are but it contradicts with recent news from the club that Wenger is re-assessing our loan policy.. I’m not in any kind of position to be able to say how accurate J.Sanderson of Young Guns is. I like his site, but have no clue whatsoever as to how he sources his information and how reliable it is. If it turns out to be true, I’ll certainly be paying closer attention to his posts.
Sorry won’t be needing Eboue or Krancjar, see post above. I wish there was an edit option, I hate proof-reading my own stuff, so damn tedious. All I need is a sexretary to do my typing for me.
Source: Daily Mail
Adebayor said: “There is not a player who could say no to Barcelona. I don’t know if it will happen now, in two years or 10, but I would love to play there.
“Perhaps things will change tomorrow, I don’t know. For now, I have to wait. It is clear it would make me very happy to play for Barcelona because it is one of the biggest clubs in the world.
“I can’t close the door because I don’t know what will happen tomorrow. If Arsenal tell me I have to go, I’ll go. I don’t care what happens, I will go. But for that to happen, Barca need to make an offer.”
Adebayor added: “If Barcelona make an offer for me and reach an agreement with Arsenal, I would be delighted to go and play there.”
I believe Adebayor can sue for slander if he didn’t actually say this. I don’t believe it anyway, but the Daily Mail have to be one of the worst sources of news for football in the world. Apart the “Epping Forest Guardian” who just re-hash any story on newsnow and present it as “news”.
sexretary intresting word finest sounds good I got the point about Eboue but some people were calling for wenger to sing Krancjar
had to be made up the reporter couldnt understand him so wrote a load of bullshit
Terry, Krancjar is not a bad player, he would fit into our style of play, but he isn’t a “top, top player”, I reckon he could get better at Arsenal but he is good enough. We don’t need him though, and there are better players than him available.
It’s a bit like the Richard Dunne scenario, he would be good for us, but he isn’t the cream of the crop. He could become that with a bit of Arsenal training though, like so many good players who have joined our team over the years.
Krancjar and Dunne could be good squad players give us a bit of strenght in depth
I think Huntelaar could be off to Chelsea
:
“If a really big club expressed an interest in me as their first-choice striker, then I would keep my options open. ”
With Drogba looking for the door, the first choice vacancy is filled everywhere else.
Wenger would never say “you’re ahead of Adebayor and RVP”.
He could go to Milan, Berlusconi keeps making noises about his old buddy Sheva.
However:
“I want to play in the European Champions League next season, therefore I wouldn’t join a club not qualified for the tournament.”
I have a distant hope it’s us, he is top top class, he could cost us a Champions League trophy at some point….or help win us one.
Hey I think you guys should lay off Eboue. I just looked back at some highlights last season where we played Hamburg in the CL. We came from 1-0 down to win the 3-1.
Eboue is the one who got us our second goal to go ahead. Baptista finished it off with a cross from Theo very late in the game.
That was instrumental in us winning the group. Eboue accelerated past his defender and hit a hard low shot and beat the keeper at the near post. The shot was very good pity he couldnt reproduce this year. I think he has lost form and also was played out of position.
He is a good squad player. I think we have bigger worries than him. The bigger worry is us keeping leads and having a killer instinct.
Even though it is true we dont need a striker for the long term, we certainly do need one for the short term, we know Ade alone cant do it. We dont know whether Vpersie or Eduardo will be ready so we may need to loan someone again like how we did baptista last year.
Baptista had 10 goals and 8 assists for us last year which is not that bad. Even though he got 4 in one game against Liverpool. Just for that I rate him because this year we couldnt score more than 2 against them in a game, which cost us. We need another loan striker or player which can contribute a similar amount. or we could just hope and pray again that Vpersie Rosciky stay healthy and we dont know if or when Eddy willl ever be the same.
I hope we win next year.
The thing is i am not an Ade basher but he will definitely need help because not many strikers can reproduce 20-30 goal seasons.
Statistically we cannot expect him to repeat this. Thierry Henry is the only man I believe to score 20+ league goals for about 5 straight seasons. I think the only times he never scored 20 were his first and last seasons at the club.
Who else has crossed 20 goals so frequently…..Shearer in his days…Andy Cole in his days….Van nistleroy did it 4 times out of his 5 years.
Michael Owen never did it, he was always 16-18….Roney has never done even though he has so much hype around him. So you as you can see very few have done this feat.
And we know Ade is not yet in the league of TH14 Van nistle Roy etc.
So unless our sick forwards and midfielders heal we definitly need more goal scorers, hence the need to get an attacking player on loan. Who knows we may even sign the person if he is good enough.
Loan signings? who’re you suggesting? they’re not many top line forwards who’re on the outer at their clubs and available for loan. Adriano? Crespo? Baptista again? puh-lease.
If you want another forward, and personally i don’t think we do because as we’ve seen at the tail of this season that Bendtner and Walcott showed that they’re definitely going to be getting more game time next year and we’ve got a whole offseason for Van Persie to get fit and Rosicky to fix his legs.
But if you want a forward and a good one to boot we’re going to have to purchase him outright, not some namby pamby try before you buy deal. Who’d go in for that? ZERO CLUBS is the answer.
What happened to the night shift? I went to bed and Ben Arfa was in the bag and Ade was happy and I wake up and Tottenham have Arfa and Ade want to go to Barca!
Thank god it was the Daily smell that said it!
As far as i can see there is pretty much nothing on the news now wire about Tottenham and Ben Arfa and Adebayor pretty much only said that there arnt many footballers who wouldnt want to play for Barcelona, which isn’t an unusual statement.
It’s probably an awful translation anyway, there’s no context to give weight to the article.
Its official. Eboue & Hleb send Le Grove comments to 575.
Whats official?? Have I missed something.
Geoff,
Mirror.com
Wenger is close to sealing a £6million deal for Lyon midfielder Hatem Ben Arfur.
GMR, There have been 579 comments that stemmed mainly from banter about Eboue & Hleb. No official signings as yet. Sorry if i worked you up.
Worked him up GG9 !!! Sounds a bit gay to me…..
Big raddy, Are you saying I like it up the Arse(enal)?
GG9, I make no judgemnet upon your sexuality , and anyway, that is entirely your business.
There is bugger all on NewsNow to comment on. Just the usual stories bandied about by agents.
This interests me though – Zarate was on loan a B’rum, because a Qatar club had paid £10 million for him, and want their money back !! If the Arabs start buying and selling young talent, the transfer fees are going to rocket,
At the moment it is just a few clubs in Eurpoe that can afford these stupid transfer fees, what happens when the Far Eastern clubs develop their leagues, and start to compete? Should be interesting
hatem ben arfa for £6m that cant be right, this is lyon, they love ripping clubs off
I’ll take being worked up over being oiled up every time!!!
Mauro Zarate, does seem like a hernan crespo type of player…. if wenger can sign him for £6-8m i think that wont be too bad
……then whipped with a birch branch by a buxom scandanavian whench
alberto gilardino is available at £10m
tried that GG9 – it stings !!
Gnarley – does she have to scandanavian, i can’t afford to be that choosey you see!!
when we getting le champ? I need some sleep, tee time at 630 this morning
when we getting le champ? I need some sleep, tee time at 630 this morning. need to be ready and awake come morning.
Big,
Ah! Its good to see the old George to Radford to George working again.
I know little of HBA, except for the Youtube stuff. I cannot understand why he is not a first team player for Lyon (I do not buy the ‘Benzema doesn’t like him’ stuff).
Have any of you seen him play 90 minutes? Can he tackle? Does he track back as AW will demand? Is he a good finisher?
Can someone tell me what all the fuss is about? (who has seen more than Youtube)
GG9…..
HBA is apparently the new Zidane, but with hair. I don’t know whether that means coz he’s from the same country as Zidane or plays like him. But I think we are going to find out if all reports are right.
I’m pretty sure I saw Zarate play for an Argentine youth team at Craven Cottage once – no wait, Lee Hendry played in that game too. But there was someone who looked like Zarate who played really well! He’ll be about ten years older now though. We should sign him.
Have we ticked over to 600 comments yet?
DDM, Birch whipping is apparently an old Scandanavian custom, but then again, belly dancing is an old Middle eastern custom, and I’ve seen a few fat Aussie shielas having a go at that, so Hey!!!!
Based on that evidence Timao, you should definitely part of the Tottenham Scouting Dept !
OK… if he is the ‘new Zidane’ we should get him.
But how many ‘new George Best’s’ , new Maradona’s’ have we seen?
i dont mind mauro zarate coming, he looks like the business, typical wenger signing, we aint going to sign a david villa, mario gomez, huntelaar
