Le Chump of the Season has been decided… and the winner is…!

Ok, there were a few contenders for this and I even included a player from last season, so the finalists were…

Thierry’s reaction to being wedgied by Messi… again

Thierry Henry - Thierry gets on the list because he was still an Arsenal player at the end of last season and he gets nominated for his dreadful decision making. I warned him, if you go you won’t… take free kicks or corners anymore, you won’t be their best player, you won’t score as many goals, they won’t sing your name and you sure as hell won’t be a legend. You will however get jeered often and be a sub for long parts of the season. Thierry, you should have listened.

Judas would have blushed at flamini’s disloyalty

Matty Flamini - He was a tosser and a greedy narsissic delusional twat and will spend most of his time on the bench, he’ll get found out when he runs up blind alleys and continually gets booked. Without the telepathic young kids of Arsenal to make him look good he will fall quicker that the Pound against the Euro. Add that to fans favourite Gattuso, eagerly waiting in the wings, and the future doesn’t look so good.

Flaking on his contract?

Hleb - He makes the list for his discussions in Milan behind our back, he’s done an Ashley and frankly with no Ade like denials forthcoming, is finished with the fans. Another one made to look good by his team mates, lots of skill, no end product, swap him for Ya Ya or 10 Woodbines and a book of matches.

The ball looked a little like Almunia’s head…

Jens Lehmann - Made the list for his bad behaviour but saved himself with his emotional goodbye’s at the Grove against Everton.

Eboue after he\'d been told of his award

Muppet…

Eboue - Another work in progress I’m afraid, his theatrics and uselessness put him right up there, him and his adopted dad seem to be the only two in the world that think he can play football. Do the right thing Emanuel and fall on your sword.

I hear the Championship is fun, mwhaha!

Taylor - Anyone can accidentally break someones leg on purpose…

Oops…I’m really sorry, I didn’t mean to get caught.’

This inbred goes on the list becuase he didn’t actually say sorry.

…So after much thought and many deliberations there is only one winner… take it away Matty, never look back and I hope you have a shit time in Milan, you ungrateful, spoilt, greedy, disloyal whore.

I’m sure you all have your own contenders, but in the main, we’re happy with our choice, tomorrow we do Le Champ of the season.

Remember to sign up to our all singing, all dancing mailing list… It actually doubles your attractiveness… honestly, it doubles it!

See you in the comments section!

  1. GunnerShabz Says:

martin taylor is the biggest chump i think

  2. stonroy Says:

Ithink Hleb should win. His bullshit about London being too big for him is such utter crap. At least Flamini didn’t hide behind his agent and a bunch of false words.

  3. gnarleygeorge9 Says:

As I said in the last comment of the previous post, my choice for all round Le Chump has got to be Martin Jol, & Arsenal club Le Chump has got to be Flamini, which will sit heavier on his shoulders if Milan don’t qualify for CL.

  4. GunnerShabz Says:

actually martin taylor got relegated, so i guess alex hleb is a twat….. london is our capital of course its going to noisy and busy

  5. GunnerShabz Says:

Milan are 2 points behind fiorentina, but to see them in the UEFA cup would be great, but imagine they play spurs in the uefa cup and thrash them silly

  6. GunnerShabz Says:

it looks like eboue is staying oh fuck!!!!

“You don’t always play a player because he scores goals, you play him because he gives you a balance to the team. We play in a very attacking style and Eboue gives us defensive balance.”

The Arsenal manager did make a comparison of his own - between Eboue and one of his illustrious predecessors on the right side of midfield.

“Ray Parlour did not score many goals on the right side of midfield,” pointed out Wenger. “You look at the numbers and you will be surprised but for me he was a great player for Arsenal Football Club.

“You can not only go on the goals and assists, you must look at the efficiency of the whole team. That’s why Ray Parlour was a great player for us and why Eboue helps us too.

“What counts is how many goals a team scores as a unit and how many changes we create. On that front we can compete with everybody in the League.”

what does he see in him, i think eboue is crap, if barca and milan are interested just sell him

  7. jimmyfingers Says:

Hleb? Please sell the cunt fast, and spend the cash on someone who can live in London

  8. bigraddy Says:

Pedro, I believe that if you took a poll of the bloggers., Taylor would piss the Chump award. But I respect your opinion.

My tuppence worth is that Flam did what anyone in his position (and right mind) would do. He got a better offer, he took it. Fair play to him. That he is disloyal is indisputable. That it was his workrate and performances that led to his betrayal is also true.

If it was just down to AW that he improved so much, why couldn’t Alladiere, Sidwell, etc etc?

  9. DennisDaMenace Says:

Actually i’d like to nominate all the bigoted and biased English based football media for actually defending Martin Taylor as if he’d been the wronged party by using the ‘he’s not really that type of player’ statement to excuse his awful assault on Eduardo………………Arsene’s almost prophetic statement summed it up quite accurately, that “with everyone saying the only way to stop Arsenal is to kick them, then with that attitude this was an accident waiting to happen”…………can you imagine how the same media would’ve reacted if Senderos had done that to Rooney…….so my award goes to Sky, especially that clueless cunt Keys, all the pundits who sit in on the live games Platt et al, The Daily Mail, in fact any daily rag and especially anyone concerned with MOTD………..

  10. bigraddy Says:

Champ of the Season ? Got to be Cesc.

Though the fullback partnership is awesome.

  11. Abdenor Says:

GunnerShabz, those quotes are a bit worrying i can only hope wenger is trying to talk him up so he get more money for him .

    I can’t stand the fucker…….

  12. GunnerShabz Says:

its like the deportivo player fucking beckham over before the world cup and everyone was calling for blood

i know for a fact, if someone else did that to rooney and england have qualified for the euros….

we would of still seen it in the back pages right now

  13. jimmyfingers Says:

Vieira can fuck off too: another ex-player who wishes he was still at the club and spends his time passing judgement on us. Milano and Inter are welcome to those two fucks and I predict they will do fuck all over there. Mind you, in Italy 11 goals in 3 seasons and however many games is a good return so maybe I’m wrong about Hleb. As for Flamini, I just pray Milano don’t make the CL

  14. Odub Says:

    Morning all,

Great choice for Le Chump. Hope Meelan finish 5th as they currently are, Enjoy the uefa cup you waste of space!

My nomination for Le Champ… Sagna, hit the ground running, and we’ve missed him since his injury!

Off out again chaps so will; catch up later!

Note for Chris, saw Ironman…. the bollox!!

  15. GunnerShabz Says:

    Abdenor

it looks the that bag of shit is staying for good… unless he goes to milan on a free transfer as well.

  16. jimmyfingers Says:

    Vieira sticking his oar in

  17. bigraddy Says:

Spot on Dennis, Thank goodness I don’t get Sky over here. I got so pissed off with their anti-Arsenal bias. The self same media who lauded our victory over Milan as the ‘future of football’ quickly got the knives out when we didn’t win a trophy.

They are cunts to a man (except Martin Samuel)

  18. DennisDaMenace Says:

Gunnershabz - Maybe AW’s trying to talk the fuckwit up to potential buyers………..oh please god yes let it be so………

  19. GunnerShabz Says:

LE Champ i think Eduardo, he was becoming a great player i can remmeber his goals against blackburn, they shitted it when he was one and one with friedel

his goal against man city and west ham, great ability and finishing of the highest quality and putting on a brave face when injured…..

  20. Abdenor Says:

That Eboue picture has to be the most annoying thing i kept seen all year!

It pops up everytime something is relating to him…… hate the c**t!

  21. GunnerShabz Says:

    Dennis

for some reason, he loves eboue, but he dont even offer anything to our team, he just wasted on the right wing, he can cover for sagna no problem.

  22. Mark C Says:

did anyone see the program last night on football rivalries.

The has us and the spuds.

Some of the drivel that came out of the Spurs fans was amazing.

  23. GunnerShabz Says:

    I think we should get

Giovani Dos Santos as Hleb replacement, good feet, quick and shots from all over the place which hleb does not do

£10m and he is ours, just do a swap deal with barca

he is 19 years old and well he mexican and best friends with carlos vela

  24. Joaquin Says:

Sagna for champ? Great fucking signing. Should do us well for a long time to come. I would say cut his hair but then who knows he may lose his touch?

  25. GunnerShabz Says:

    i think sagna hair is a wig…..

  26. Pedro Says:

Le Champ is a fucking tough call…

Le Chump didn’t go to Martin Taylor becuase he is already a Chump… playing for Championship side. I think he got his comeuppance.

It was Geoffs post any how! I agree with it, Flamini has fucked us… what a cunt!

  27. pablo Says:

    It has to be Hleb!

From the time he licked the Italians vanilla on the eve of a Champions League game to yesterday’s statement about London being too big, I think he has totally embaressed himself and insulted the Arsenal Fans.

What he said about life in London did make me chuckle though, about it being too big and noisy because everyone knows when he decided to join Arsenal, London was a provincial little hamlet with a modest population of 212. The expansion has been enormous, I never realised how many other eastern Europeans had moved in!

I just hope he pisses off, I will never cheer for him again and no doubt in 10 years times I’ll doubt I’ll remember his contribution.

This has just appeared on the wires but not on the main site yet.

Out of that list it has to be Martin Taylor, but I’d go for the entire Derby team for throwing away a chance of trying to play good football this season, they gave up very early on.

  29. GunnerShabz Says:

the only teams we did not win against both times

    were

middlesbrough, they started to become a bogey team for us especially at riverside, before we used to smash them 4-0 and so on

birmingham, bloody bastards 1-1 and then 2-2 and of course taylor

man utd - 2-2 at emirates and lost at old trafford

Liverpool - boring fuckers, we had them at anfield they just got lucky and emirates i think it was stupid

thats all i can think of

  30. Bud Says:

Fuck is Le-Champ a tough call………. its gotta be Ray Parlour !

To my records, Romford Ray is the only player to dedicate himself to Le-Grove and as honourary Life President, surely he has it in the bag ?!!!!

  31. Abdenor Says:

Clichy should be considered for Le champ aswell, better final ball and a bit more concentration is all he needs to work on!

  32. GunnerShabz Says:

    but i understand hleb situation

the council tax and also road tax and just tax has gone up and he cant afford it anymore…. inflation is going up.

oh yeah forgot he earns like £40k a week

  33. Adam Says:

It has to be the media. Everything Arsenal do is news. Look at the hard time we get continuously and look how easy Liverpool have got away with yet another poor season. Consider how much money they have spent and how little they have progressed. They are a 2-man team. And talking of easy rides - what about Spurs? Fourth biggest spenders over the past 5 years, 16.5 million on Bent. Ramos comes in with great fanfare and expense and cements them that 11th place spot despite having long enough to move them up the league. Yet the media are much more concerned with slaughtering Arsene and the club. 18th biggest spenders over past 5 years. Just moved to amazing new stadium. Play the best football and finish just a couple of points behind the richest club in the world. Continuously on the wrong end of a season’s worth of awful reffing decisions. The footballing media in this country are really, really bad.

  34. Pedro Says:

How fucking dare Wenger compare Eboue and Parlour!

  35. Joaquin Says:

Sagna’s hair is fake, braided into his.

  36. kenyan gooner Says:

and the le chump of the season goes to eboue.a right winger who doesnt score a whole season…….even usmanov would score atleast 1 goal.no more..

  37. GunnerShabz Says:

Ray Parlour is the legend called “romford pele”

id love to have him in the side if he was 23years old, he is what we need at this current time

  38. Joaquin Says:

Why does he defend the cunt? Great idea to bring in another mexican to accompany Vela. Do Santos is a god idea.

  39. bigraddy Says:

Sorry Pedro ! Your writing styles are so similar ….

The Romford Pele must be spitting feathers about that one ! To be compared to Eboue -surely it is a joke from The Prof. Either that or AW is on the happy pills

  40. Jon Says:

The chump has to be arsenal, all that bragging:
spirit - when players are headbutting each other,
beautifal football - but can’t score goals,
our own Gatusso - and now he’s left,
wenger’s cute player dealings - selling Henry a year too late taking £10m less and paying him another £10m for a handful of games, £20m out of pocket
our bright young players - then they get thumped by spurs
our fantastic team - then get thumped by UTD

    It’s been a great season :o)

  41. twinstaiye Says:

It has to be Taylor, at the mention of the name of that guy, I always felt sick for that seeming ‘deliberate’ tackle on Edu.

  42. Plastic Mac Says:

I dont like slating Arsenal players…. But with Eboue, I will make an exception.

He is shite, pure and simple.

Fllamini had one decent season after being out the door last year, so fair play to him.

Hleb can eff right off, he may have all the skill in the world, but he’s scored the same amount of goals as gallas this season and can be so effin frustrating, even tho this has been far and away his best season here.

BUT he was never a prolific scorer so you have to wonder why the fook Wenger signed him in the 1st place? bad choice AW.

Rosicky is a class player, but in the words of Blondie “has a heart, anklres, hamstring of glass” FFS Tom! Sort it out!

So, Eboue = chump of the millenium!

  43. gnarleygeorge9 Says:

Pedro, anyone, has Eboue ever scored in the EPL?

  44. GunnerShabz Says:

am sure he has scored last season, but only one i can remember was against sunderland in the carling cup

  45. Bud Says:

Also I think this would be a great opportunity to thank Romford properly for his performance at Old Trafford when we won the league for which he got f-all credit….. I watched it again the other night and he was fuckin awsome !!!!

Also, his best mate and his old man drink in the boozer down the road, so I could even try and tie Ray down for a award presentation photo op…….. I can picture it now, old Orange Ray and Pedro in a DJ, Paps everywhere breaking a neck to steal the big money shot !!!!!!!!

  46. Pedro Says:

No, one in Europe last year and one in the league cup the year before!

    Shocking…

  47. kenyan gooner Says:

forgot the runner-up chump…..”sanderos”…….would someone pls tell him to try birmingham or some shitty team.the cunt cost us the champions legue..

  48. Abdenor Says:

Not a good day on the tabloid trashers…..not being linked with anyone this morning!

    :(

  49. timao Says:

Ebuoe is alright by me. I don’t understand why everyone hates him. He doesn’t get that many goals - he’s a full-back! He does run up and down like a nutter, he is always willing, passes brilliantly, can cross, does have a shot (even if it doesn’t go in at least he has a shot) and above all, he is the nearest thing we’ve got to an enforcer. I love the tackle he put in on John Terry after Terry had attempted to maim Cesc. For that reason alone I’m a fan. Get off the guy’s back for f*ck’s sake!

  50. finestcuts Says:

    http://www.arsenal.com/article.asp?thisNav=News&article=491450&lid=NewsHeadline&Title=Wenger+-+Why+this+year%27s+qualifier+is+a+dangerous+game

Wenger is quite correct to say that Russian teams are getting wealthier, look at Zenit in the UEFA final, they’re owned by Gazprom.

“Next season it is a dangerous qualifier because it is a European Championship year,” said Wenger. “You need to give some rest to the players and the time to prepare for the qualifier is very short.”

Well we’ve already prepared for that….most of our end of season players are not going to be involved, we can carry on from Sunderland.

“”I don’t believe it had a negative impact this season. It can do because you lose a Premier League game at the start of the season when you play your qualifier but this season we were right up front in the League, we didn’t drop places.”

Exactly what we should do again.

Isn’t being in the qualifiers financially beterr for the club? We get a few extra games before the group stages earning the club extra matchday and broadcast revenue.

“We are not completely sure yet but we could have 10 to 12 players at Euro 2008,” said Wenger. And don’t forget there are other players away too. The African players play four World Cup qualifiers. The South American players play as well and some of them are away as late as the European Championship players.”

Not as much pre-season time but…

Teams with fewer Euro players will be inferior opposition …..and all other “good” teams will be affected by the Euro championship as well.

  51. bigraddy Says:

NO Kenyan…. Refs cost us the CL. And why not Bendtner for stopping Fab’s shot?

  52. chris Says:

great news odub, thansk for the review!

flamini is teh deserved winner, no player has got my blood pressure up so high every, upon hearing the news my post had approx 100 mentions of the C word, no exageration, so goood call,
sagna for me for le-champ, but i think pedro & Geoff would get a special mention for bringing us all together and letting us vent with out judgement

  53. GMR Says:

Pedro, this is a very late answer to your comment yesterday, but Chigwell is a lovely area (I was being sarcastic) because the spuds training ground is a few minutes walk from my house. I was just saying the area will be great as soon at they leave for Enfield.

I’m going to try & nab Modric on the first day he goes training & see if I can get him to hold a Le-Grove sign. He won’t have a clue what its all about!!

  54. DennisDaMenace Says:

Talking of The Romford Pele, is anyone else in agreement with me when i thought he was MOTM in the FA Cup final against Newcastle??

  55. gnarleygeorge9 Says:

Looks like Ya Ya wants to do a Yo Yo. Went down to Barca, now he wants to go up & play with Kolo. As per Goalo.como

  56. Bud Says:

I’m with you Dennis…………. another fine reason why Romford should be this seasons Le-Champ !!!!!!

  57. Plastic Mac Says:

Eboue aint a fullback, he’s a shit player, playing at Right midfield, has no assists and no goals! Might as well have played Gibbs, Randall or a bag of cement there.

Hopefully Theo will be 1st choice next year, with Rosicky making an appearance in between surgeries!

Senderos may not be the bestest back up CB, but thats just it, he is a back up, but needs about 15 games to get into any sort of form. Then makes big mistakes. I really hoped he’d come good, but it just aint happened. he would suit the La liga or serie A leagues. At least he gives it his all, he aint a lazy fecker!

  58. olli3 Says:

    Hey Guys!
I Joined the Bandwagon RE: Removing 1870 designs next to names!
As for eboue, what weenger says still doesnt cover it!! What ballence does he bring? He Spends most of the game on the floor feiging injury! I dont think he realises that Eboue thinks that hes an innocent Spectator, which is why he does nothing!!
Does he even make it into the National team?
Does he even know what a national team is?
Does he know that goals arent awarded on the spectacular dives, but the goals that are scored while hes on the floor?

  59. ethangunner Says:

I want to nominate ade’s football boots ..
i think the reason is obvious , and makes sense as people never want to blame the bloke for his really really poor footballing sense throughout the whole year ..
so im going to nominate ade’s football boots this season .. flamoney must be another
finalist , also diarra should at least get a nomination for the shortest time spent in the red and white !

le champ is THEO THEO THEO !
like either geoff or pedro said he has been le champ 3 times this season !
and i think that is enough of a claim to win the overall prize !

well done theo ! your going to be a legend at AFC !

  60. kenyan gooner Says:

True to that..among many other factors like bad luck.for the refs they have been so poor this season… i think we should have a session for slatting the poor refs.by the way,was nicklas trying to deflect the shot or moving away from the ball…..watched the clip lots ot times but still cant understand the boy

  61. ethangunner Says:

yes pedro it seems all fine now with a gmail account ..

    ethangunner@gmail.com

  62. Abdenor Says:

Eboue should sold in the summer……. full stop!

  63. Abdenor Says:

    should be sold

  64. Plastic Mac Says:

Soooooo bored of the Ade bashin

  65. finestcuts Says:

But Abdenor, we should give Eboue a similar level of kudos as Ray Parlour.

  66. Pedro Says:

We should have nominated Arsenal wage structure.

As much as I don’t appreciate PV04 sticking his oar in, you can’t disagree with him.

If Liverpool, ManU and Chelsea are all paying these wages, we should be to.

I don’t mean £150k a week, but £60k a week is not massive is it? It wouldn’t put a player in the top 40 earners would it?

  67. Plastic Mac Says:

Can we keep with the Eboue bashin, ta!

  68. Plastic Mac Says:

This wage structure shit, is a red herring, im tellin ya.

How much was TH on? Vieira even. Not to mention cesc, Gallas, Sol???

    Its bull shit.

  69. timao Says:

Eboue rules! He’s a fantastic player. Don’t believe the assist stats, don’t run with the boo boys. Get behind our Ivorian dynamo. Eboue for Arsenal!

  70. Joseph Says:

support eboue!! Senderos is improving too.

  71. Pedro Says:

If you can tell me why, I will support Eboue.

Don’t quote Wenger either… that is cheating.

  72. ethangunner Says:

at least eboue can keep the ball at his feet until he dispatches it, plastic think weve heard enough of the eboue bashing also ! ! im even more bored of that , as its not as warranted !

  73. timao Says:

the only person with any right to hate Eboue is John Terry, tackled by Eboue - out for 6 weeks. Not even a foul!

  74. fab 04 Says:

we should sell hleb and get citys elano. he is definately one who cud change a game. plus he could become our prolific midfielder.

  75. finestcuts Says:

The Eboue article has already been taken down!

Maybe it was to see fan reaction on the blogosphere, who knows. However Eboue looks to remain an unpopular player, people don’t “appreciate” the defensive qualities he brings to our team according to Wenger.

Give me a traditional 4-4-2 any day of the week with two attacking wingers….

  76. kenyan gooner Says:

eboue was a dynamo when he was playing at right back.i loved especially the way he used to rough up cristiano.he was brilliant in the chapions legue ‘05 atleast till he started being a cunt.he is the worst in decision making when on and off the ball.

  77. Abdenor Says:

Lets face it , e-BOO-eh has nothing to offer us, if we buy a CB and keep both Kolo & Gallas then surely one of them can cover for Sagna!

He’s clearly not a winger so it’s about time AW does the maths, Eboue is surplus to requirement…….. simple as that!

  78. ethangunner Says:

    ok pedro ill try

eboue has score about as much as hleb does !
eboue can play 2 positions at least .
eboue can cross the ball !
    eboue does have some pace
    eboue CAN PASS !
eboue isnt a bad right sided player .

do i like him , not really i think we can do better .. but at least he supports arsenal passing game and can dance & takes a great photo too !

  79. timao Says:

The worst you can say is that he has been played out of position. We’ll see him back to his best next season. Eboue for Arsenal!

  80. Plastic Mac Says:

From Sky Sports; Sevilla’s director of football Ramon Monchi is also rumoured to be on Arsenal’s list of targets following his impact in the club’s rise to prominence in recent seasons.

If that is true, then that is fan-fookin-tastic news! Thre guy is a genius and the real brains behind Sevilla’s successes.

Lets get him now, oh please, with sugar on top!

  81. Pedro Says:

    Fair shout, I love him!

  82. kenyan gooner Says:

there is one thing i like about him though…..his dancing..esp when they are doing it with ade.

  83. Abdenor Says:

Oh Hoyte should also be offloaded am affraid ( obvious reasons )

  84. finestcuts Says:

We can still win games with Eboue, but we all know we’d rather have Rosicky, Walcott or Hleb playing there.

Last season Wenger chose Hoyte over Eboue as right back every time, Eboue was made a right winger since he had a tendency of going forward.

Eboue is Wenger’s problem child…he always think he’ll turn out to be fantastic while everyone else murmurs disapprovingly.

Hopefully we can find that balance with Rosicky and Walcott as well, and that Eboue doesn’t become a critical part of our setup. Unless of course he can change his game and both defend AND attack.

  85. Joseph Says:

eboue has the highest work rate in the team next to flamini. He covers the whole left flank and participates in every defending opportunity. You can’t say that about helb and van persie, which is among players with lower workrate in the team.

  86. Pedro Says:

I forgot about the dancing, that was amazing.

Overall though, I don’t agree he is a good passer, I don’t agree he plays two positions becuase he plays both positions badly.

Combine that with his theatrics and cheating and you have a pretty tosh player.

He is not a good player and he wouldn’t be fit to lace the boots of Romford Ray.

  87. Joseph Says:

does anyone followed randall, he looked magical in our last game. Who is he?

  88. Pedro Says:

Does anyone think Yaya is a bit like a poor mans Paddy?

In the same way bouba diop was?

I’ve not really seen him play that much… so a bit of enlightenment would be appreciated!

  89. clockendjim Says:

It’s so difficult to split, I think we should have TWO Chumps of the Season

    1) Flamini - we put up with three seasons of average performances, Wenger shows faith in him to allow him to come through and put in a great season and what thanks do we all get. I think it will be the same story all over again and those far fields will be brown rather than greener

    2) Hleb - Ditto as above, except that in spite of his pretty football at times he disappeared in matches. Also the end result was just not there; 4 goals in 42 matches is just not good enough for an attacking player - just remember the contributions of Llunjberg, Pires, Overmars etc etc.

Hopefully we will get some money for Hleb now and as long as Wenger can bring himself to spend some money and bring in the right replacements eg YaYa Toure, Ben Arfa, Micah Richards then I think the two s***bags above will have done us a favour and we will be even stronger next season.
One caveat to this is we must see a significant amount of games out of Rosicky & Van Persie. Much as I like them both, another season permanently occupying the treatment table will be the last straw

  90. arsenal tom Says:

the only person with any right to hate Eboue is John Terry, tackled by Eboue - out for 6 weeks. Not even a foul!

pedro surely theres your answer!! just doing that gets him another season in my book!!! john terry… what a cunt

  91. kenyan gooner Says:

he was great against the mancs in the champions legue.he loves to get foward n recovers very quickly but his weakness is that he does not have a shot in him.

  92. Abdenor Says:

His last 2 season apart PV04 was a one off, Yaya however whould be an adequate addition, very good on the ball . have to improve defensively though IMO….

  93. A Says:

    Pedro
I think Yaya is a poor man’s Paddy, but paddy was the best player in the world, yaya is still a very good player and many Barcelona fans’ player of the season. I’d be surprised if they do let him go but if Guardiola doesn’t like him then I’d be very happy for us to snap him up.

  94. olli3 Says:

Joseph - Whats happened to Flamini? High work rate, agreed, but then he nicked off for greed! also, he cant be like flamini - He had one good season. You would be lucky if Eboue had a good month!
Eboue Only coveres the whole RIGHT flank cos everyones scared to come near him - Even our manager! That would be an advantage had Eboue had any ball skills.
Finest, i agree that Eboue could still help us win, if he was left on the bench! But thats a waste of space.
Look, im sorry all you Eboue fans out there, but the majority want Eboue gone, and for a good reason! He Wastes a spot on the team that Theo has been wanting all year!! He should go to Italy, since they want him so badly - reason being that should the be able to gain his citizenship and he can play for ther national team, hed fit in nicely - Unable to play football so they cheat until awarded a penalty!
One Good thing about him this season, and that was when he and ade took the mickey out of earnshaw.. but that was it!

  95. gnarleygeorge9 Says:

Timao, your surname isn’t Timao Eboue? Actually, in Timao’s corner for a milli second, Eboue does seem to be used by AW as a spare parts/stop gap when injuries come into play. And that year as right back in the CL when we made the final hewas sensational. He did have an “assist” to Sol for our goal when he got fouled. But he needs to bloody score.

  96. kenyan gooner Says:

i would like to have a look at yaya when hes on the counterattack and his movement in midfield.does anyone know a link..???

  97. t-buzz Says:

    Hiya all!!
Totally enjoyed the Le Chump list and as much as Flamingo pissed us all off, Bigraddy had a point (9:14am),anyone would have done the same thing in his position. Did he at any point slag off his team members?

Also on the list of le Chump Geoff/Pedro, I think you should have added the “Ade-Haters Club” to the list, cos he had so much stick from them all season like it was his fault we lost out this season.

Maybe a Le Chump cartegory for the worst/most annoying bloggers? lol

  98. Bud Says:

    You win T-Buzz !!!!

  99. ethangunner Says:

yes pedro he has his flaws and i dont rate him too highly , but ive got to say i have less a problem with him that some other player .. people are in the team differing reasons , and
he seems to do less detrimental things for the team that a certain other player ..

i hope we get yaya . he seems to want to join

    http://www.soccernews.com/yaya-wants-to-join-brother-kolo-at-arsenal/1996/

sounds coming out from spain are a good start .

    theo-cesc- yaya- rosicky
for next seasons midfield starters, that doesnt look too ugly ..

  100. michael Says:

Champ of the season Ade. For coming straight out and putting the tabloid cunts in thier place when they wrote the shit about him leaving, Scoring more goals than Torres and being slagged by so many of his own teams fans. Chump the media in general but a special mention to that cunt in the standard Mathew norman and Terry christain (Love to stab that dirty manc).

  101. olli3 Says:

    http://www.uefa.com/footballeurope/news/kind=2/newsid=695646.html
just when you have a sec when your not bashing that useless toe rag!!

  102. Pedro Says:

Fair shout T-buzz… so why did he tell Arsene he was staying all year?

He must have been becuase Diarra was allowed to leave.

I have no problem with leaving for another club, just own up to what you are doing. Don’t let people get there hopes up.

That is why he is fully justified as Le Chump of the season.

  103. t-buzz Says:

    Oi Bud!! lol

  104. Abdenor Says:

Barcelona are looking for a RB, Eboue + cash for Yaya , what do you guys reckon ?

  105. finestcuts Says:

Hey Ollie, the above comment regarding Ray Parlour was irony, I would certainly not count myself as “an Eboue fan”. I recognise what he could do for our team, that we can play a covert 5-3-2 and still win games, that he makes Sagna and Fabregas look good but to me he’s a poor substitute for a top player. He’s tough, he’s quick but if you need someone to change the game, we’re one player short of someone who can do that when he’s on.

He’s OK for when we don’t have any proper wingers available or if we want to add some fresh legs and try to lock a game up in the last half hour. I don’t envisage him as a regular starter and I believe we’ll be suitably equipped with players for his role next season.

If we’re in a situation where we have nothing better available, or we need a sub to help us defend a win, sure he could be useful, but I doubt Eboue will ever get 31 starts for Arsenal in a season again.

  106. A Says:

To be fair though pedro he could well have been totally honest with us, having not decided either way until it came out that he was going to Milan

  107. Joseph Says:

Come on we didn’t did our part to renew his contract last year. How can we blame him for taking a higher offer? We are disappointed that true and we disappointed because he is a good player. He oftens played better than cesc when cesc was a bit jade after december. Now he is gone, I would wish him good luck and bye. And by looking at a Song in the last few games, I am not overly concern about DM for the next season. It would be nice if we can get a player to replace helb and add a worldclass center back though.

  108. Joseph Says:

How come no one pay attention to workrate? The england team suck so bad because their work rate is so low when playing as a team.

  109. A Says:

I’d still much much rather have Eboue as a sub right back than Hoyte. Eboue I’m sure would still be very good in his proper position, whereas Hoyte is a bit of a waste of space

  110. Abdenor Says:

Eboue’s cheating & injuries feigning whould fit in nicely in La Liga :)

  111. kenyan gooner Says:

Flamini is a total cunt.where is the loyalty..?the funs have given him support the whole season yet the best way for the cunt to repay us was to leave for the money.his excuse being the loss in form in march.such a silly excuse.def the game in milan gave him a reason to stay….pedro i totally support u in giving him a bashing .he should learn from anelka &henry.

  112. jimmyfingers Says:

Abdenor: yes fucking please, but hard to believe Barca are complete mugs

I don’t think we should soul-search too much over Hleb and particularly Flamini. The wage structure is there for a reason, and Flamini wasn’t worth breaking it for, Henry was, Cesc is, but that cunt no. Both of them had a better than usual season and it makes me think that both wanted away this summer all season, and simply put themselves in the shop window. Talk of disliking city life, or the distress of slumping this season and not winning is a smokescreen: they wanted/want a move to Italy, more cash, different league. Fuck them, fuck them in their fucking arses, I don’t want them at Arsenal and don’t regret for a second them leaving/about to leave. Neither won us the league this season so them moving on gives us opportunities to try players that can

  113. t-buzz Says:

Yeah Pedro, youre not wrong there…
At the same time I think Wenger needs to firm up as he is too soft with most of these players and he really shouldnt have let the likes of Diarra leave. Do you think Fergie would have easily said,”Off you go boyo”.A bit of hair dryer treatment may do the trick.

  114. ethangunner Says:

    yes t - buzz ,

you are right about 1 thing !
it was the reason we lost the title race ..
11 games not scoring a goal !! FUCKING USELESS

And during that time we went from 5 points UP to 6 points DOWN !
    so go figure !

Bit hard to win games when your ACE striker (cough..) doesnt score !!
do you seem to remember a little fact like arsenals biggest goal drought
of wengers reign !! being mentioned??

    i guess not …

  115. Pedro Says:

    Firming up like this…

“Jose took the phone and put it on loudspeaker and said: ‘OK, seeing as we are not kids we are going to talk. I trusted you - I’ve done everything for you and there you are telling me you’re going to the dentist in Paris when in fact you’re in Milan talking over your transfer. You lied to me. You didn’t keep your word. Have you been badly brought up or what?’”

Mourinho was so angry that he ordered Drogba to train with the Blues reserves.

And the former Marseille man underwent the humiliation of turning out for the second team against West Ham the following night.

  116. Joseph Says:

How can you blame if our player wants to play in a different league? ENGLAND players fucking break their legs. Blame your stupid referee and so call passion.

  117. olli3 Says:

Finest - If he comes good next season, ill be supprised… He may be a poor sub, but why has he been keeping Theo out of the team? Im not trying to slag you off, i just dont know why so many people are putting faith in him - I found your comment odd… Maybe im blind, but i sinceerly doubt it. BTW, if hes tough, why doesnt he show it instead of falling over all the time!

  118. Pedro Says:

    Frank, you won’t be missed.

  119. A Says:

With Flamini as well - If you look at it from his point of view you could see why he might have wanted to leave for non-monetary reasons -

He filled in fantastically at left back in the champions league season, was always asking for a run in the team in midfield but before this season never got it, and wanted a new contract last summer but the club weren’t forthcoming and didn’t give him any sort of offer. Arsene was forced to give him his chance with Gilberto away after the Copa America and took it. He could think that he just showed Arsene that he should have played him in his actual position sooner, and the refusal to offer him a contract in the summer pissed him off to the extent that he wasn’t gonna sign one after….
Just a different way to look at things

  120. Pedro Says:

Joseph, I’m not blaming Flamini for going to Milan.

I am blaming him for leaving us in the lurch. Do people really believe the Flamster only realised last week he wanted to go to Milan?

    Rubbish…

People break their legs in other countries too…

  121. david Says:

    Good blog today boys.
Whats the point of having Eboue as a back up right back when Kolo plays there, then, Gallas takes Kolo’s place then Song take Gallas’s place. Too much disruption cost us in the last part of the season when Bacary got injured.

  122. A Says:

    Pedro
Yeah I think there is no way for anyone other than Flamini to know when he decided he wanted to go to Milan. Why could it not have been last week?!

  123. Pedro Says:

    Hey Bud,

Your contact who actually gave us some pretty good news was wrong about Rosicky wasn’t he!

I wonder how long his op will keep him out for?

He still played 35 + games this year which isn’t bad for him is it?

  124. Pedro Says:

    A,

If you were offered £60k a week tax free + a £2million signing on fee in December from AC Milan, how long would it take you to decide that £50k a week before tax was crap?

    About 6 seconds I reckon.

If he had told Arsene that he was going in December, he would have been dropped.

    Remember Edu?

  125. finestcuts Says:

Ollie, Wenger claimed Walcott wasn’t 100% ready to take on that role full time yet and that now he is, so I don’t think getting into a panic over Eboue’s future role is necessary, he will be a fringe player for us, another Justin Hoyte.
The earliest I can see Eboue leaving is next season when his deal expires.

  126. jimmyfingers Says:

Joseph, its the manner that Flamini did it. I don’t demand complete loyalty from players: if they want to try their luck elsewhere then fair enough, but there’s no reason beyond money for Flamini to leave. He claimed his place in midfield, formed a successful partnership with Cesc, and had the potential with the team to go and win things. But no, he ummed and arred and kept us guessing all season long. Stupid said it became apparent that he was going to leave to those in the know around Xmas, and United apparently made enquiries. What sort of effect does that have team spirit? It must have been obvious to the team that Hleb wanted away too and without good leadership forthcoming from Gallas you can look at that and say that may be the reason we slumped and failed to win. You can’t be sure the cunts even wanted to win the league. Fuck them both

  127. Pedro Says:

Frank, plenty of discussion going on here… now keep to your word and piss off.

  128. olli3 Says:

Joseph - What nationality is Theo mate?
Oh, i seem to recall Theo taking on the whole Liverpool team, running, dodging and weaving though the pitch 70m and then passing to ade, who scores.
I also seem to recall that be was brought on as a substitute.
I also recall that He Replaced Eboue, who had been useless all game..
Eboue has had chances at an open goal, but he hasnt scored!!
look around.. there will be clips of proof of the chances that hes had!

  129. A Says:

Well it depends, it wasn’t as simple as that, football issues still have an impact. Any of our top players could move and make alot more money but most choose not to….
I personally don’t think it was weighing up this amount against that amount, but was Flamini having been mistreated previously in his eyes saying “well now you actually want me I want a real show of faith by giving me a special contract”

  130. Joseph Says:

flamini was offered like £100k - £120k and he didn’t get the offer in December. AC wasn’t looking before we killed them in CL.

  131. Pedro Says:

He is about to move to a club that is getting no Champions league, I think that is a signal that it was a money decision.

If he was so miffed at his treatment, he would have left last season.

  132. jimmyfingers Says:

Joseph, he wanted away all season long, and other teams became aware he wasn’t going to re-sign in December. Its a shoddy way to treat the club and fans, and repay the faith of the manager, and he did because of money. But carry on defending him and his character, but I think it will fall on deaf ears from the majority on this blog

  133. Joseph Says:

Theo was great. It was our goal of the season. That’s doesn’t clean the blood stint on the english football field and FA.

  134. A Says:

Noone wanted him last summer though, and there were alot of rumours that he’d be off, there just wasn’t enough time to find a buyer after Diarra signed. He left when it looked like Milan would get champions league….

  135. Joseph Says:

Flamini would be damned by me if he used webster clause. We got Sol Campbell the same way. We got to be fair to everyone.

  136. Pedro Says:

Ferrara was asked, during an interview with Tuttosport, whether Juve’s failure to sign the 24-year-old showed that the club was no longer capable of attracting top-class players.

“No, I simply think that the Frenchman chose to join Milan because the Rossonero club offered him more money,”

He supported Juve as a kid…

  137. Geoff Says:

Mark Meier fuck off you wanker, you’re not welcome, go and play on arsenal.com or playstation you silly little twit.

  138. Pedro Says:

For someone who said he’d never come on the blog again, he is mighty persistent…

  139. Bud Says:

Pedro, he is the ref at the training ground, so he is usually pretty reliable - however, he is a ref !!!!!!

In fairness to him, Wenger even said that Rosicknote was not a bad injury…. seems everyone got that wrong !

Anyway, whilst talking about Rosicky, i’d rather Hleb left and he stayed if he can sort out his hamstrings…… he drives forward, has skill and scores goals, Hleb goes left and right and round and round, but never forward !!!!!!!

  140. Joseph Says:

Come on Pedro, if a Big company out of no where comes out and offers you double salary, would you leave?

  141. Bud Says:

Can we please leave one posting from each nob-head on please before baring, it is actually fairly amusing to laugh at pond life, but you never give us the chance to actually see what proper wankers they are !!!!!!!!

On that has that Swedish Stats bloke been back recently???

  142. Pedro Says:

    Joseph… read what I said!

He has had big offers since January… so he had an inkling he was going to leave!

Tell us in January of your intentions, don’t leave it till now.

I don’t think that is very classy.

  143. ethangunner Says:

    finest

i agree theo will be 1st choice next season ..
eboue will be gone .. or backup …

theo was ready at the start of the season if you ask me , he just needed time to settle
the sooner he had the time on the pitch the sooner he would have settled ..
i think 99% of us would rather see walcott there than eboue so i dont think any eboue haters need to worry about him playing regularly in the future …the writing on the wall !

  144. Pedro Says:

Last night Bud, he listed the percentage chance of getting the people on my silly season list!

That must have taken a while!

  145. david Says:

Hleb always reminds me of the Jack Russels that are featured on those Harry Hill outake programes that come on and don’t give the ball back.

  146. finestcuts Says:

Flamini is far more expendable than any of the greats we had in midfield before him, it’s time for someone better. A fully fit Gilberto being an example of someone better than Flamini. With Gilberto, Denilson and Diaby available I don’t think there is any need to be concerned.

I’m interested in our first CL lineup, I think we should play a similar team to what we did at the end of the season. Also, the WC qualifiers will give valuable experience to players like Song.

Besides that there will be fitness tests before the games to see how the tournament has effected the players, so I can’t see a good excuse for us not getting through to the group stages. We’ve used players such as Justin Hoyte to good effect in games like that.

  147. ethangunner Says:

heres another one for your list pedro

    http://www.comeonboro.com/matches/07089701.php

  148. Geoff Says:

Joseph, I wouldn’t for double as I’m loyal and not a greedy whore.

  149. bizzyboy Says:

Just a quick-point,but looking over the season just gone. The thing that hurts me the most is that we’ve been pretty much been cheated out of the title again.dubious reffering dicissions against us gorls disallowed, penalties not given.then look at man u and chelsea have pretty much gone out cheating and nothings been said.Ronaldo scoring the winning goal against us was never a free kick, the penalty man u got at wigan was never a penalty. The penalty liverpoll got against us,that never was.The two we should have been awarded against them; This is the tip of the iceburg

  150. Joseph Says:

I respect your loyalty Geoff. Fully.

  151. Geoff Says:

    Thanks Joseph!

  152. Pedro Says:

    Gervinho is added…

  153. jimmyfingers Says:

Joseph unlike Geoff I probably would, but I’d tell the company I work for and the people I work with and if my company had millions of loyal fans that loved me and depended on me to make their week by my company winning I wouldn’t string them along for months, but tell them and go quickly

Because a football club is more than just a company and footballers acting the way Flamini has can’t be compared to being headhunted. I don’t know how much time we dedicated to writing about Flamini on this blog but I reckon its a lot and most of it has been will he/won’t he, and for what he has done to us the fans I hate him and if you can’t see that I’d question your claim to be an Arsenal fan

  154. A Says:

Noone can know whether Flamini decided on the day he flew out to Milan, or a year ago - it’s absolutely impossible to know either way!! So to condemn him as if people do know is pretty silly….

  155. olli3 Says:

Arsenal career total statistics - Eboue (Age 24)
    Total Appearences - 104
    Total Goals - 2
    Total Assists - 12
    This is over FOUR years

Arsenal Career Statisics - Walcott (Age 19)
    Total Appearences - 70
    Total Goals - 8
    Total Assists - 12
    This is over TWO years

Theo has less Appeaences than Eboue, has been here for half the time Eboue has, has scored 4x the ammount of goals, and equalled the ammount of assists IN HALF THE TIME!!
Admittedly, this is off Wikipedia, but this looks reliable (Have refreshed seveal times, no mysterious changes… ;)
Check it out here for yourselves!!
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emmanuel_Ebou%C3%A9#Arsenal_career_statistics
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theo_Walcott#Club_career_statistics
Which player would you rather have?

  156. finestcuts Says:

Yeah I agree Ethan but lets cast our memories back deeper into the season when Theo had confidence issues, so Wenger wanted to get him playing drop by drop since a bunch of bad performances without any previous Arsenal form could’ve made him a faliure, he was being gentle.

There was even talk of Theo going back on loan to get to boost his confidence, but the way he has turned out is because of how Wenger broke him in. Walcott has benefited from Rosicky’s absences and has proved he can perform the job to a similarly high standard, with his own dynamic style.

  157. david Says:

If Arsenal had won either the Champions League, the Premiership or both would Flamini have stayed or would he have used his success to get more money at another club?

  158. Pedro Says:

    Well said Jimmy.

I also don’t buy the whole money issue.

Footballers get fantastic wages at the expense of the fans. It’s not like he was struggling for money at Arsenal.

When you earn that type of money because the fans pay to watch you, I think you can at least have the decency to let them know what you are planning to do.

Like Jimmy said, there is a difference in working for a football team and working for a corporate enterprise.

  159. Pedro Says:

David if we’d have won the Champion league and the Premiership he would have left and said the challenge was over… we lost and he said it was becuase of the hurt…

We were in a lose lose situation.

  160. Abdenor Says:

I don’t think flamster really wanted to leave until maybe last 2 months of the season, for that alone i’d spare him any bashing .

I think his performances in CL vs Milan has won him a dream contract , only a fool would turn that down and who’s to say AW was not aware of the whole situation even back then, Arsene tell lot of porkies sometimes and i for one don’t beleive AW thought Flam was staying!

  161. A Says:

You can’t really compare the two using stats like that Olli - For one Eboue made the majority of his appearances at right back, and secondly when playing in midfield Eboue was infinitely better defensively than Theo….
It would be better to compare the two this season stats wise, in which Theo is also far superior, although again Eboue defensively was much much stronger, and as has been stated gave Sagna much more freedom. There is also the argument as to whether Theo would have got the goals and assists he has if he started, rather than coming on later in the game fresher and against tiring opposition, which is how Wenger thought it was best to use him most of the season.

  162. david Says:

olli3, as much as I dislike Eboue how many apperances were at right back?

  163. Joseph Says:

I supported Flamini and Eboue for their contribution to our success this season. Their exceptional workrate reformed our defend (This season we won by defending from up top and early)

I am not worry about Flamini leaving as DM is cheap in transfer market. Song is pretty good too.

Yes, Eboue will be replaced by Theo. Theo scored our goal of the season. Still, right now, Eboue is still better than Theo in defending. When Theo starts, we will need more defend from other position to cover for him. Therefore we need a world class center back.

PS I admire Benites ability to discover good center back. I think he is better than Wenger in this regard.

  164. Joseph Says:

come on jimmy, you know i love arsenal from my post.

  165. olli3 Says:

Hmmm, true guys… Im not against Eboue playing at right back, Just not stealing better players positions! Yes Hes great defensivly - Because hes a DEFENDER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ok, ill drop it for now.. lets move on!
Jimmy - Great points. much more sense admitting then your leaving, then telling your manager that your staying, or at least giving him that impression, taking a vow of silece to the fans, then nicking off!!
Can i Completely change the subject and ask which EURO teams people ae going for?

  166. Pedro Says:

I don’t think Eboue had anything to do with our success this season.

The emergence of Sagna and Clichy had something to do with it. Ade upping his goal tally to thirty had something to do with it as did Cescs 17 assists and 10 or so goals.

Eboue works hard, but so does Rosicky… Flamini works hard, but you can’t knock Gilberto’s form last year.

Our form was not down to Eboue’s work rate, which I don’t buy anyway…

  167. El Tel Says:

I will take some stick for this so here goes, we lost only 3 games this season and both away to our biggest rivals where we wasn’t expecting to win. Chavski away we were leading then the best right back in the league got injured, they scored an offside equaliser and AW made some poor gameplay decisions late on that allowed them to come at us. The Mancs away I didn’t see the game because I hate them so much but didn’t they gat a Pen. Boro away was a shocker. The draws to poxy little Red nose mates clubs undid us again and the Pool at home game when they had a poor team out and AW in my opinion gave up on the Prem and played the likes of Hoyte, Toure , Eboue and Traore together. Playing the Spanish waiter Coco instead of Jens almost all seasons was a joke. The flamini saga, The Hleb affair and Eboue playing right wing is a joke. Le Chump of the year for me is with AW. Le Champ of the year The one and only boy wonder Cesc Fabregas.

  168. choy Says:

pedro cesc has 19 assists.. the highest in the PL….

  169. Bud Says:
