If you believe what you read in the newspapers, Arsenal’s players are queuing up to leave Emirates Stadium. Arsène Wenger knows that the truth is very different.
Like most Arsenal fans, the Frenchman wakes up to new transfer gossip every day with Emmanuel Adebayor’s so-called ‘salary demands’ hogging the latest back pages.
Is Wenger concerned? Far from it. The Arsenal manager is convinced that his squad will stick together and pointed out that the number of players who want to leave the Club is far outweighed by those clamouring to join it.

Does anyone else sense Arsene is loosening his buckle a little in relation to revealing more to the media? I think he is fed up with all this bullshit. Time was when he would say he hadn’t got any thoughts on anything the media said but now he is saying things like ‘we have loads of players who want to come here’ and ‘I will buy some experienced players in the summer’ etc? He sounds like he is playing the game a little more than in the past and I for one like it.

The article gave no real quote apart from the fact that agent said they would be talking to the club. no mention of figures and no mention of holding the club to ransom, for all we know the Club may have requested that meeting as with the Sagna contract extension and if they have learnt anything from Flamini that is what they should be doing. If I am being honest if Ade pulled in another season like this I would have no qualms in him being on 80k a week. For a 30 goal a season striker in this day and age it would be a bargain
One minute you are saying we messed up not tying Flamini down, yet when it comes to Ade who some in their own opinion dont like it (which is fair enough), they do the equivalent of the Daily Mail and read into something that is not even there.

He then starts scoring goals and suddenly thinks he is the big ‘I am’, mouthing off in the press about being better than TH14 and Eto’o, how Madrid would need £100m for him, nutting Bendtner in the face and getting no internal disciplining for this when he should’ve been dropped. Now he thinks he is untouchable and Wenger let him get here. The man should have been dropped for an extended period when he couldn’t score and thought he was the big man.
With Hleb, AW should’ve reported Inter to FIFA straight away and dropped Hleb for the rest of the season and ensured that he had to invoke the Webster if he wanted to leave. Make the little fuck leave under a cloud if he wants. He can train with the ladies team until his summer move. End of. Take a firm hand with him.
With Real Madrid Wenger should meet fire with fire and air out some Madrid names he wants to sign and talk them up every week in the papers. Make them feel wanted and targetted. They do it to Cesc, we do it to Robinho or Ramos.

I’m looking forward to the Sunderland game, it’s a game which is all about Saturday, we have nothing to lose positionally, and it’ll be good to see our young talent being given a chance to show how good they are, no other club gives youth such an opportunity.
Thankfully we have Euro 2008 coming up which means we’ll still have some games to talk about as well as all the usual excitement of building a better squad. it’s the first time in years that Arsene has gone gung-ho and has proclaimed he’ll be busy getting some ready made players in. That very statement leaves us nothing to fear.
Wenger’s policy on Denilson and Diaby may be his current idea, unless he manages to get Barry
Barry is going to be very difficult to get, it’ll rip the heart out of Villa just as they’re challenging for Europe….and who can replace him? He won’t go for less than 20 mill. Is he worth it? It’s a bit like buying a car, it depends on the brand you go for, cheaper models will get you from A to B, but Barry is a Lexus, very luxurious with all the trimmings.
This Samir fella, he looks great, he can do everything Hleb does but his goal tally is a concern, 10 in 119 appearances? I’d rather stick with Hleb than have him there,
at least Hleb has the PL experience and has already improved and now has the opportunity to be a bit better. Next season his minimum target should be at least 5 goals and 10 assists.
,We should be looking more at a Pires than a Hleb type, a double portion of Hleb will leave us a bit bloated, but any player is better than Eboue at right wing although we should be looking for the best available rather than just a step up from Eboue.
Besides, Nasri doesn’t fit the bill of “ready made” it’s the same as getting Hleb when he was at Stuttgart, it took him a fair amount of time to become a key player and he was more experienced than Nasri although Nasri has the benefit of coming from a football background playing for Marseille youth since he was 12. An interesting prospect, I just have a cold feeling about him.

I don’t know what everyone else thinks, but in general, I find AKB’s only really frequent the net. I don’t meet too many when I am at the games, or out in general? A lot of people like to think that by supporting Wenger… they will be seen as having the same vision as him because they seem to think they have an inside track on everything. Well, that is my opinion anyway.
Not that I am knocking Wenger… he is a great coach, but he is not above criticism. I don’t think people hate on Wenger over here, they just tell it how they see it. I think the only guy who seems to hate him is Gelbs, the guy who comes on at the weekends.

For England his natural game is stiffled because of the freedom Gerrard gets, even though to me Barry is a better overall player. The last two seasons for Villa Barry has been around the double figure mark for goals which tells you he likes to get forward, he also has Reo-Coker there doing all the donkey work. At Arsenal he would be the one expected to break up play which wouldn’t really suit him.
