£7 Michael Johnson, DD to return and Kolo urges Henry to come home.
The latest rumour on the mill is that Man City starlet Michael Johnson is being eyed up by Wenger, this is a signing I would like, he reminds me of Carrick/Flamini with a bit of Petit rolled in there, I would prefer Barry but that’s looking unlikely.
There’s talk of Mark Milligan from Sydney coming but that has to be nonsense, not that I have anything against Aussie footballers, but it’s hardly premiership quality in that league and we need finished products, not more hopefuls.
With the departure of Edelman yesterday, talk is of bringing Dein back, I would welcome that as he knew where the cheque book was stored, but that’s a long shot, and by now they may have moved it to a shoebox that Dein doesn’t know about.
I thought that Dein had fallen out with the board about overseas investment and there was no way back except through Trojan horse Usmanov, but why has Edelman gone then? Stranger things have happened.
Unless of course he got canned for lying about how much we had in the transfer kitty, time will tell, but getting rid of him with two games to go tells me something is about to happen.
Kolo has said he will call Thierry and urge him to come home and that I welcome, come back on a reduced salary and help coach the kids through, I know he’s injured a lot, but who isn’t at Arsenal these days eh?
I know a lot of you will be against it, but it does make sense to have some experience back in, a bit like Dennis was and he retired at 36, so with him, Henry and Adams back, it could be a match made in heaven.
Today’s press conference will let us know whether or not Flamini’s going, but if he does I hope to hell we replace him with someone either proven, or ready.
Gattuso isn’t the one for me, he hasn’t the flair we need, Kolo can do a Gattuso job if needed.
There has been talk of Sergio Ramos but I can’t see Madrid letting him go, Robinho would be great, but where would we get the money, unless of course we could peruade them that Eboue would suit them better than what they have currently.
Back to Everton, we need to win not just for the chance of landing the league, but as a send off to us, the fans.
Why Wenger is resting Robin is a mystery, what precaution boss, it’s the end of the season?
Finally with all this talk about climate change and carbon footprints, what would the carbon footprint be to send two lots of fans to Moscow for a day? Or should I say one lot as the Chavs don’t have any supporters.
I know a chav (formerly a Leicester fan until he got free tickets) and he’s going to Portugal to play golf instead, imagine that? Well that’s a Chelsea fan for you.
Finally many of you new bloggers were held in moderation in the early hours, sorry about that, you’re on now, so a belated welcome.
Have a speculative day Grovers, we may know more tonight!
May 2, 2008 at 9:11 am
Leicester fan wow, am from leicester, and they may get relegated this weekend
come on you foxes
Sergio Ramos, i aint heard of that one am sure he is a right back or central defender
Michael Johnson, i have not seen him play recently what has happened to him??
May 2, 2008 at 9:12 am
Neither Manyoo nor the chav will drop points this weekend. If either of them get all 3 points we’re out of the race, time to focus on the future.
Home win against Everton, any homw win will do, Yakubu, Johnson, Lescott, Arteta….lots of good players who can make a difference and catch us out. They’ll be wanting a point out of this game because they want to keep a step ahead of Aston Villa.
May 2, 2008 at 9:13 am
I don’t think we can keep a clean sheet against Everton, we have to go for the second goal.
May 2, 2008 at 9:18 am
I doubt any of the above will happen.
DD will NOT be coming back, unless Usmanov can somehow get his hands on the club. It appears that Fiszman was behind Edelmans exit & to me thats a clever move. Edelman (as much as I hate him) was fantastic at his job, which was balancing the books whilst getting the finances sorted for the new stadium. He has done his job now so the next move was always to get rid of him & bring in someone who knows about the world of football & marketing.
Arsenal are so far behind Chelski, Liverpool & Man Utd in America & Asia & its that bridge we have to gap. The income from being big in Asia is massive, it means probably doing pre season tours in that part of the world but that doesn’t seem to have done Man Utd or Chelski any harm, whereas Austria for us doesn’t seem to have done us much good!!
Henry will not be coming back either, if its experience we want then I’d prefer he brought Pires back, someone who’d be happy with a place on the bench & wouldn’t think he should be the star of the team. He could coach the kids better than Henry, thats for sure.
I’ve been saying it all week, I seriously doubt Wenger will give anything away with regards Flamini. “It’s not decided yet” will be something like his answer.
May 2, 2008 at 9:19 am
RvP is being rested bescause he’ll be playing for Holland in the Euros. Easily forgotten about I know.
Michael Johnson is good on the ball but dead slow. It won’t happen anyway.
May 2, 2008 at 9:20 am
Morning morning and that was a thoughtful post.
I think we should go for Johnson, still a young boy interesting prospect and for £7mill thats cheap for an english player!!
Regards the CL final, didnt it happen many moons ago that Inter and AC milan were both in the final and after an appeal from both teams, the venue was brought back to Italy?
May 2, 2008 at 9:22 am
Anon, we knew that… the question still stands. Why is he being rested? We pay his wages?
Johnson is not slow, I don’t think you have seen him play to many times if that is what you think.
May 2, 2008 at 9:23 am
No it’ll mean, the club gave him an offer and a deadline to respond and if he hasn’t it means the offer is no longer there, and it would require Flamini to say that he wants to stay for any talks to happen……
Flamini is an AC Milan player, next season he is going there to play for them.
We’ll get a superior replacement, people are taking the mick with Milligan, lets chill out and see who Wenger buys…..if you guess the right one and have a valid reason other than “a hunch” it would be interesting to know why, otherwise blind mans buff gets boring after 2 minutes.
May 2, 2008 at 9:26 am
He does have a dodgy hairdo though
May 2, 2008 at 9:26 am
Pedro, you need to add Milligan to the Silly Season List.
I dont know why where resting him aye, a loss by eitherside sees the other take the title, ut a loss by both could see us make a comeback that only happens in dreamland! We should still be aiming for maximum points. Anything less is sloppy on the coaches behalf.
May 2, 2008 at 9:28 am
Mark Milligan, why the hell do we want him for. see the thing is i know wenger will sign someone like him as well.
I dont mind if he comes just for back up and replace gilberto and diarra but thats it
May 2, 2008 at 9:29 am
Finestcuts,
Milligan has said himself (& its available to see online) that he is joining Arsenal subject to a work permit. Thats not a hunch its what the actual player is saying. He has more recently been playing in Flamini’s position so it doesn’t take a genius to work out the plan!!
May 2, 2008 at 9:29 am
Link
Interesting. Go on boys, do us proud!
May 2, 2008 at 9:31 am
if there was one player from man city i would like.. that is elano…
May 2, 2008 at 9:33 am
Hears a thought we all know we need a left midfielder what about Arteta clearly Evertons best player over the last couple of seasons and already used to the weather and the premiership,
You know we could get him for about 8 million with a couple of fringe players going the other way Eboue & Diaby
May 2, 2008 at 9:34 am
GMR, where is there a comment thats states that Mark Milligan said he was joining Arsenal subject to a work permit? Please quote the source and paste his comments if you make such a statement. Are you sure Mark Milligan said this? How do you know?
May 2, 2008 at 9:35 am
Dein certainly won’t be coming back and that is a good thing. I think the board want somebody more football orientated, the business side of things is what Edelman was brought in to do and he’s done that.
May 2, 2008 at 9:36 am
Pedro, in above post:
“There’s talk of Mark Milligan from Sydney coming but that has to be nonsense, not that I have anything against Aussie footballers, but it’s hardly premiership quality in that league and we need finished products, not more hopefuls.”
Nonsence or not, Your comments about our league is true.. All the Decent players moved overseas (Kewell, Cahill, Viduka, Schwarzer, ect.)
May 2, 2008 at 9:36 am
And if we sign some shitkicking no-mark, neverheardof Aussie to replace Flamini I’ll be very unhappy.
May 2, 2008 at 9:36 am
yes.. arteta is good…. and he runs out of contract this summer.
May 2, 2008 at 9:41 am
GMR, this article contradicts your claim:
Milligan reportedly confirmed he is set to join Arsenal on Fox Sports and is awaiting a work permit to seal a dream transfer - he parted company with Sydney recently after rejecting new terms.
However, the move could come at a price with Olympic side coach Graham Arnold furious at his skipper’s absence and apparently threatening to axe him from the squad for the Games.
The 22-year-old’s agents have only admitted there are several clubs chasing his signature without identifying Arsenal as one of them.
If Milligan said that Arsenal were ready to sign him on Fox Sports it would be all over the news.
Therefore the reporter uses the word “repordetly” meaning the journalist was told this is true but has not verified it.
Milligans agent denies it, he would be in deep shit for lying that Arsenal are after him when it’s a load of bollocks. This guy wants to play in Europe, he’s nowhere near what you’d expect of a Premier League player, it’s a total joke because the guy is promoting himself worldwide.

May 2, 2008 at 9:43 am
Even the article itself gives it away, there are no, I repeat NO published comments of this statement online.
Milligan is not coming to Arsenal.

Try actually viewing things before mouthing off!!
May 2, 2008 at 9:45 am
As an Aussie I will say that milligan is one of the better Australian players, but I didn’t think he was that good. Wouldn’t be a bad squad player though, he is decent. Unlike most Aussie players.
May 2, 2008 at 9:45 am
Well with Edelman gone will Flamini get the money he wants and? us the big name signings, or was Edelman the one that was urging we spent more, we’ll know when Flamini comes out and tells us where he’s going, though taking all season to tell us has pissed me off somewhat.
May 2, 2008 at 9:47 am
Finestcuts,
Just to make it easy for you when you click that link go to video & ‘Milligan rumours’, then come back & tell me he didn’t say it!!
May 2, 2008 at 9:47 am
Ollie, I didn’t write today’s post.
Geoff doesn’t have anything against Aussies, but you’ll appreciate that coming from Sydney FC to the Prem is a difficult transition to make in your first season.
He may become a great player, but what Arsenal need is ready made players for the now, not 2 seasons time.
May 2, 2008 at 9:48 am
finest, u dont need to be so agressive dude, teh aussie press say he is in london so its not impossible,
May 2, 2008 at 9:48 am
Thats the other thing Ollie, most Aussie’s who have come on since the rumours started have said he is average at best!
May 2, 2008 at 9:49 am
arteta recently signed a 5 year contrcat so i dont know what youre talking about choy
May 2, 2008 at 9:51 am
there is a rumor that edelman wouldn’t release the extra 20k needed to secure flamini’s
signature and arsene was pissed about it ..
This adds to my theory that it wasnt arsene who holds the cheque book it is a blasted
board member ! So what i was waffling on about 10 days ago holds some currency ..
So geoff like i said blaming arsene for missing out on signings seems to be the fault of edelman ( the board) who runs the club like a business , and all the AKB fans will be left reeling …
As there favorite saying is we are financially sound and it seems edelman was the reason for this .. Even thou our football on the pitch suffered ..
a good read is ..
http://www.arsenalinsider.co.uk/arsenal-news/did-flamini-cost-edelman-his-job-and-arise-the-next-arsenal-captain/
May 2, 2008 at 9:52 am
did he.. i thought the commentators last week were talking about him running out of contract ….. when they were playing villa…
my bad…
May 2, 2008 at 9:53 am
Guys can we have a bit of chill time in the blog!
There is a lot of aggression today!
I read somewhere that the Birdseye CEO was being reccomended as our next CEO? He is a bit high profile don’t you think!
http://img.metro.co.uk/i/pix/2008/03/johnhewer_175×125.jpg
May 2, 2008 at 9:55 am
well didn’t we all want high profile signings?!!!
May 2, 2008 at 9:56 am
The only aggression I’ve seen is from the AKB member finestcuts!!

May 2, 2008 at 9:59 am
Lol, sorry! Great post anyway.
I hadnt heard much about Miligan anyway, most of the Sydeny FC Press, fans, ect were concentrated on Juninho. As i said before, the only Decent aussie players all play abroad, although i cant remember where Aloisi plays, if he came back to play or an Aus club. Either way, the only Aussies weshould be buying are the ones that have played aboroad AND done well…
May 2, 2008 at 10:01 am
there has been an abundance of agression on this site in the last three weeks, please keep it in check, for all our sanity, the number per day have sky rocketed, but a lot of regulars have now disappeared,
May 2, 2008 at 10:02 am
SLANDER GMR!
May 2, 2008 at 10:02 am
I can understand Flamini leaving if its for the money which it almost certainly is, we would all do it in our jobs if the pay was better elsewhere, i only hope that he is honest enough to admit its the money and not about footballing advancement, because that would be bullshit, Milan or Juve are good teams, but I honestly think Arsenal are better.
I think Johnson would be a good signing, would prefer Micah Richards from Man City though, but second guessing Wenger is like taking bets on whether RVP will ever play 90 minutes again.
May 2, 2008 at 10:04 am
GMR, you’re going over the top, if you constitute anyone as contradicting what you say as aggressive and Arsene knows, and anyone lese for that matter, then you’re the narrow minded bigot. I have been unable to load that video and if anyone thinks this guy would be brought in as a Flamini replacement, their thinking abilities need to be questions if you can entertain such notions with any seriousness.
Milligan is not an Arsenal player, this is pure speculation and if Milligan signs I’d like to know WHY? He’s only scored 1 goal in 42 appearances and he plays in midfield, he’ds not even good enough for our reserves with such low achieved, we’re looking for the up and coming not some free contract bloke who wants to play for Arsenal in the hope of scoring more than once in 42 games.
May 2, 2008 at 10:06 am
David Dein will never again play any kind of role in the day to day running of Arsenal Football Club.
David Dein’s first priority is to do what is best for David Dein.
He is a liar, a cad and a snake-in-the-grass.
David Dein loves money and power - in that order.
We are better off without the likes of Dein attempting to destroy the tenants our club was founded upon. Quite simply, the £75m he procured from the despicable Alisher Usmanov was more important to him.
Never forget that.
The type of man we need now is a Peter Kenyon or a David Gill.
We need a (relative) young and dynamic Managing Director with a Corporate Sports/Football background.
I have no doubt that a £1m p.a. salary, share options, national and international travel in the lap of luxury and the chance to play a part in the worldwide development of one of the most successful and famous names in world football will only serve to attract the very best of the best to the role.
It’s an amazing, almost once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the right man/woman.
We must be grateful to Edelman for the job he has done in ensuring that the move from Highbury to TES became a reality and he helped oversee the smooth transition.
However, there is no doubt in my mind that Danny Fiszman is completely right to move for Edelman’s departure. With the numbers crunched and looking healthy, we need to avoid the Rick Parry situation at Liverpool and ensure the club remains at the forefront of footballing commercial development.
This could be the best move of the summer.
May 2, 2008 at 10:08 am
Signing such a low achiever would be a pisstake, you can get better players than Milligan in League one.
May 2, 2008 at 10:12 am
All this talk of the Flamster and his replacement. Little said about the player who has kicked on the most in the latter part of this season - Alex Song. He has Flamini’s energy, he’s better in the air [useful defending corners etc.] he has pace and his passing is good.
Denislon can do a holding role a la Gilberto so I don’t think we necessraily need another holding midfielder. Diaby is better in central midfield, too so another versatile central midfielder would be usueful assuming, anmd this is the point, that Merida, Randall, Gibbs or Lansbury are not considered good enough. Personally I thnk that they could all play in the less pressured games [against bottom 8 perhaps and in Carling Cup] gaining experience and giving the senior players a break.
No ACN this year either which should help. I’d go for a centre back [don't like Gallas] but what do I know.
May 2, 2008 at 10:14 am
To ease the aggression….
A bus stops and two Italian men get on. They seat
themselves and engage in animated conversation. The
lady sitting behind them ignores their conversation at
first, but she listens in horror as one of the men
says the following:
“Emma come first. Den I come. Two asses, dey come
together. I come again. Two asses, dey come together
again. I come again and pee twice. Then I come once-a
more.”
“You foul-mouthed swine,” retorted the lady
indignantly, “in this country we don’t talk about our
sex lives in public!”
“Hey, coola down lady,” said the man, “Imma just
tellun my friend howa to spella Mississippi.”
May 2, 2008 at 10:17 am
living in australia for a great deal of time i do have an affinity with the aussies .
But even if the kid is the next nesta .. He still isnt what we require for next season ..
Really we need an EPL defender .. If you are looking for a top shelf addition i think even Europe isn’t the answer .. We need a self starter from the EPL , mind you sanga adapted quite quickly
but then he was french defender of the year , and was always a risk , a risk that paid off
…. Even if they sign this aussie boy , im sure he will be a splintered ass bench warmer for most of the season .. So no need for everyone to worry about signing speculation .. GMR OR FINEST… Its not the time yet … Wenger is fishing before the euro’s start
because he’s afraid of price increases ..
but flamini is rumored to have told certain squad members he’s already leaving 4 AC..
so i think that has prompted edelman to get the boot .. plus the Italian press have been pumping the rumors all week , and with it being the 2nd of may im sure we all know the verdict ..
when theres good news its on ARSENAL.com .. when its bad its undercover for as long as possible ..
thats as much speculation as i can take for 1 day …
lets hope Hleb will stay .
and maybe to bring the conspiracy theory to a new head maybe the sacking was something to do with offering hleb more also !!!
May 2, 2008 at 10:20 am
hmm miligan captain of the under 21 olympic team was a world cup squad player to well its obvious to me that he is worse than a league 1 player
May 2, 2008 at 10:21 am
why do my post never appear mod????
May 2, 2008 at 10:21 am
Alan,
‘Alex Song. He has Flamini’s energy’
For me, Alex song has the least energy in the whole team! Did you see how he defended that corner against Derby? He didn’t even jump!
Do you see Denilson in the holding role? I see him as Cesc Mark II. He seems a little light weight this year!
Does anyone else think a new Managing Director might be a bit more focused on wages and transfer budgets?
T-buzz, that’s the spirit… jokes are good on a friday. I don’t hear them unless I am on here!
Check the funnies by the way, there was a funny pic sent into me yesterday.
May 2, 2008 at 10:22 am
NR790… Franny Jeffers was a record goal scorer for the England under 21’s….
May 2, 2008 at 10:24 am
i never said that he was gonna be good i was just reffering to finestcuts suggetsion that there are better league 1 players then him
May 2, 2008 at 10:27 am
G10
spoken like an AKB team leader .. DD left the same time as our success did.
He sold his shares in the hope of procuring others .. the board sniffed it out
and did a lock down until the year 2012 ! In fear of DD’s dream , a dream that
could lift arsenal FC back into the running of a EPL trophy !
he sold 24 % in order so he could buy upto another 24 % !
you have to be brain dead stupid not to realize that !
He was the best figure head to procure more shares from the masses ..
you think the russian would of scraped up 20+% ??? NO
If i was going to take over arsenal FC id of done it the same way ..
give some rich bastard my shares then with the funds go buy the rest !
Im sure DD’s money is still in the bank , im sure he isnt in the pub pissin it up the wall ! He was made director of RED/WHITE for a reason !! .. oh fuck im done with this !
its gonna bring the AKB brigade out today .. they are all distraught that there financial planner has lost his job .. and rumors of takeovers have started already .. so much for my 1 or 2 years away
the AKB brigade will be heart ached because arsene will spend money this season like man U or chavski , it does not compute .. it does not compute !
get a life fuckers !

“Certainly Sir” replies the receptionist, “have you donated before?”.

mancs are going for ashton ………. he’s got rooney , tevez , saha and he’s able to confidently come out with a statement that tells a player i need strength but ur for the bench most of the season . how can dean ashton possible be attracted to that …….. but its Man u and they have the name to attract him no matter what his playing time will be . WIsh Arsenal reaches that podium one day .
i want a striker that doesnt play with his back to goal !!!! ade is the worst player to fit wengerball . henry , berg , kanu , wiltord , ljung , aliadi, persie , reyes , pires , walcot …. heck even jeffers would have suited us coz they ran onto the ball . not stood and passed it back for another move forward . plz plz plz gimme a striker that faces the goal and let the midfield do its needling by threading the passes .
May 2, 2008 at 10:37 am
Song will take over the mantle should flamster leave
May 2, 2008 at 10:39 am
nbizzle
i hope not
May 2, 2008 at 10:39 am
id go for denilson any day over song ..
even thou currently i dont rate either ..
May 2, 2008 at 10:43 am
I hope not as well.
Song scares the shit out of me… he is so relaxed he forgets to breath sometimes. He has that same dim look on his face as Senderos.
The mancs are in for Ashton? The Hammers fans hate him! He gets booed! I hope we aim higher this summer, much higher.
What do you call two Jews?
A duo…
May 2, 2008 at 10:44 am
Sorry, that joke was poor…
May 2, 2008 at 10:45 am
Mark Milligan isn’t so flash. Being an aussie I know I should support the nation, but really our football is on a level below EPL. I would welcome David Dein back though, but yeah, its a long-shot. Personally I want either Quaresma (although Porto want alot for him, more than he’s worth imo) or Ben Afra. We need someone with experience, someone who isn’t Theirry Henry!
May 2, 2008 at 10:45 am
scarface001
i agree .. but a lot on here don’t .. they think cause the git has 30 goals this season, and because he was the only bugger to get fed the ball all season that he is great ..
im sure bendtner would have got over 20 + if he had the same opportunities
and he is a better team player than him … and would have brought others into the fray also.
The problem is bringing any striker into a team with potential means if the club doesnt match there ambitions they will be off if they come good ..
arsene needs to get a settled striker . one of those came knocking lets hope arsene can now put in the bid !!!
May 2, 2008 at 10:47 am
Hi guys, according to the Guardian today seemed to think that Edelman went because it was believed that the board and Wenger thought they needed someone who could play a bigger role in the team side of things. Apparently it hasn’t gone down well that we missed out on Ribery and Pato in the summer (said to have been definite targets) and neither has the current farce surrounding Flamini’s contract. Think the feeling is that since Dein’s departure Wenger has had to do everything and it hasn’t worked …
Does that mean Dein will come back and Wenger will get the cheque book out this summer?
May 2, 2008 at 10:47 am
Pedro! a bit lively on here today with lots of strong views, I’m with the ‘I don’t rate Song’ brigade.
If we don’t watch it we’ll be left behind again this season, we need to show intent and buy some stars.
May 2, 2008 at 10:47 am
If Reading go down which I don’t think they will because Derby is their last game, and they only need to get to 36 to survive, a draw against Tottenham this weekend would be a bonus. In the Unlikely event of Reading not achieving at least 3 points in the next 2 games, Stephen Hunt would be a star buy, a good player, a cheap Steven Gerrard.
May 2, 2008 at 10:47 am

yes id like to think id get more mileage out of sledging beckham
but its quite timely pedro .. is edelman a jew ?
May 2, 2008 at 10:50 am
Yeah, and the part where he’s like “I toss a coin between 2 jews and watch them fight toi the death (Laughter). Yes! and i did the same with 2 catholic priests, and i chucked i a small boy. the winner had to fight michael jackson!”
For some reason You /tube doesntwork on my laptop, the provider blocks it… shame really…
May 2, 2008 at 10:50 am
I understand why Geoff, the thought of one of our 2 summer signings being an average Aussie defender on a bosman has probably got a few people riled!
I’m off out for an hour. Enjoy my joke to the max guys.
May 2, 2008 at 10:52 am
Pedro? Joke? Where?
lol,
T-buzz, as annoying as this sounds, YouTube is blocked by my internet Provider.. VERY VERY ANNOYING!!!
May 2, 2008 at 10:53 am
Song is ok as a reserve to bring on 3 minutes b4 extra time, HE IS NOT 1ST TEAM MATERIAL for the Gunners. This isnt hatin’, its plain fact!!I dont see anything special coming from him unless he spends pre-season at “Skills Camp” and becomes Cesc the 2nd or Adams re-incarnate.
May 2, 2008 at 10:56 am
Ollie, are you sure it aint the parental lock on your system? lol (:?)
Thats a shame… I’ll see if I can find it elsewhere for you bro.
May 2, 2008 at 10:59 am
It was a collision, Hunt didn’t intend to mash the Cech’s head up…..Hunt is a good player.
May 2, 2008 at 11:04 am
So Wenger says he will have Flamini’s decision today or tomorrow, he also says he will field the same team that beat Derby without Van Persie.
I still have a feeling Flamini will stay.
May 2, 2008 at 11:04 am
Arsenal have to be the most frustrating super club to be a fan of in terms of transfer excitement. Linked with everyone under the sun at some stage and never really get the big names in. Then again I guess we get the rough diamonds who turn out to shine - PV4, RP7, Fab4, TH14 etc…..however it would be nice to get ONE of the big name targets we are linked with.
Last 4/5 years we have been linked with Eto’o, Ribery, Cech, Trezeguet, Robinho, Ronaldo, Essien, Diarra, Sneider, Kaka, Messi, SWP, Beckham, Anelka, Torres, Babel, Drogba, Tevez, Masherano, Villa and Pato and have signed exactly zero of these.
May 2, 2008 at 11:05 am
Great post Pedro! I liked the the DD Trojan horse comparison:)) LOL
Ill tell you why RVP is rested -because the EC is coming and he wants to play of course for Holand, now our season is finished.
As for Song -hes better than Sombreros indefence for sure, but agree he is not so sure at the back-we need someone else. But he was the Man of the Cameroon on ACN in Januray in midfield role and IMO he couold be good replacement of Flam there.
May 2, 2008 at 11:07 am
He also said, straight after the interviewer said about Sagna and Clichy featuring in the EPL team, that the difference between us winning the league and not was goal difference, Mancs 21 us 31 so by the process of deduction he’s pointing the finger at his centerbacks, I think he’ll bring in a top guy.
May 2, 2008 at 11:11 am
Arsenaldo I’m glad you like it!
I think if RVP plays any part in the Euro’s it’s a disgrace, it was Holland that caused the problem in the first place, if anything Wenger should play him Sunday, make the injury flare up and let him take all summer to cure it, he won’t, they will and the injury will be there for next season.
Complete madness.
May 2, 2008 at 11:14 am
Aussie players usually adapt well to the EPL, so I wouldn’t be so quick to write off Milligan.
May 2, 2008 at 11:16 am
Yes but how can we be sure someone that plays for Sidney can step in for Flamini?
Denilson or Diaby would be safer bets and I’m not sure about them, especially with their injury records.
May 2, 2008 at 11:29 am
oops sory Geoff_I didnt see you wrote blog 2day.
May 2, 2008 at 11:32 am
Arsenaldo, I made the same mistake.
T-Buzz, if its the parent lock, then they must have forgotten the password cos it frustrates them possibly more than me!
Oh well, I usually get my daily Laugh from the concept of myself enjoying school! But Here Is my Main source.. top quailty jokes told here!
May 2, 2008 at 11:33 am
Ollie, try this one…
http://www.funtoosh.com?mclips/play.php?id=n_oldw
hope it works
I would prefer Milligan had been playing in an european club before being considered, to be honest. No offence to our buddies down under but aussie footy aint the same as what we see close to our borders.
May 2, 2008 at 11:37 am
IMO opinion getting wingers to help Cesc and the other CM is crucial. Because Cesc and Flam were carrying the whole midfield of Arsenal all season. And if we loose Flam(who obviously has extra engine installed in him) and dont find equally powerfull midfielder we will be struggling a lot without wingers.
May 2, 2008 at 11:40 am
cahill went from millwal in league 1 to everton and he played allright
May 2, 2008 at 11:42 am
you guys are right that the A league (aus league) is nothing compared to the premiership but id place a bet on our natinol team to beat england anyday
May 2, 2008 at 11:48 am
Finestcuts,
In all honesty I don’t care what you think. You came on & were instantly aggressive for no reason. I stated a fact about Milligan & had you bothered reading yesterday’s comments you’d have seen I linked to that video clip then, so asking me for proof was just plain silly. I don’t know if its true but I don’t see why any professional player would go out on a limb & claim they were signing for Arsenal subject to a work permit if they weren’t. They’d look somewhat stupid.
Also you have to ask yourself why Wenger gave Flamini an end of April deadline?? The transfer market isn’t open, so why couldn’t Wenger wait until after the season ended!! There’s only one answer for that, he has a player lined up & needs to get him now or risk losing him, that player has to be a free agent so its not difficult to work out who he wants!!
May 2, 2008 at 11:53 am
Ethan, I really like you.
Can we expect a youtube clip of you crying and screaming the words, ‘Leave David Dein alone’?
More fool you for swallowing the lies of the duplicitous, perma-tanned sell out.
The current path the club is taking is the best - and in my humble opinion - the only route for long term future of the club.
I’ve never considered big money signings and trophies as the conditions for my love and support of this club… whereas I don’t believe you’re able to recall the pre-Wenger days. I could be wrong but I sincerely doubt it.
May 2, 2008 at 12:04 pm
When AFC were winning trophys, our second goal quite often came from free kicks a la Henry (the bendy type). How many did Ronaldo score from set pieces @ crucial times this year. Also Big Tone would stiffen up the backs @ set pieces. Too leaky for me this year. Anyway just some thoughts!!!
May 2, 2008 at 12:08 pm
Okay G10 I moderated you, you crossed the line, remember we don’t swear at each other and we don’t tell our mates to support other teams.
We don’t slag our own people, remember?
G10 you can come back when you’ve calmed down.
May 2, 2008 at 12:19 pm
peace on earth.. on another note… does any 1 here have a sony psp?
May 2, 2008 at 12:20 pm
g .10
NO i wont be crying mate ..
because unless youve been in the artic circle for the last 4 years you’d of realized the EPL competition has changed ! with big money spending a necessity for success .. have we spent big money??? NO have we had success ? NO even our bright shiny stadium cant bring us a change of fortune how long do you keep wanting to spend 60 quid a ticket for a chance to view an U 21 team of potential ???
I feel sorry for you ..
however i could video a tape footage of my bare arse with the letters G on one cheek and 10 on the other ?!
May 2, 2008 at 12:23 pm
lol
May 2, 2008 at 12:30 pm
Sportinglife:
Wenger expected to find out what the former Marseille man was planning to do next by the end of April, but said on Friday: “The latest is that we are at the end of April but it is still not sorted out.
“Certainly we should get an answer today or tomorrow.”
Asked what he thought Flamini’s decision would be, Wenger told Arsenal TV Online: “I’m always positive because I believe the link he has with the club will be stronger than all the other different attractions that he can have.
“I know that if it’s down to football then he will stay here. If it’s down to football or financial resources he might not stay here.
“He is free to choose a different direction, everybody is free out of contract and you have to respect that.”
Wenger is also sticking to his guns on Alexander Hleb, and insisted he has yet to be contacted by any club despite Inter Milan coach Roberto Mancini registering an interest in the player.
The Frenchman also admitted his surprise at the news that Keith Edelman was leaving his post as managing director to seek a “fresh challenge”.
“We didn’t expect that and I don’t know why (he is leaving),” Wenger added.
“Does he go somewhere else or has he chosen a different direction? You have to respect that.
“He has done well in a very difficult period and everybody is conscious of that.”
Wenger believed the success of Manchester United and Chelsea in reaching the Champions League final underlined the strength of the Premier League and joked: “It’s an FA Cup final abroad and so that could be the 39th game that everybody looks for.”
May 2, 2008 at 12:32 pm
As that TV online interview with Wenger was done yesterday it seems that the decision with Flamini will be announced today, as Wenger said today or tomorrow.
It appears the interviewer hinted he was off by saying that Flamini had come in just before & shaken everyone’s hand as if that weren’t a regular occurence.
May 2, 2008 at 12:34 pm
Yeah he did actually come across as genuinely surprised that Edelman was going, which would pretty much put an end to the theories that it was a choice of him or Edelman that go.
I do still believe Fiszman was behind it & my guess is that Jeff Plush will eventually come in.
May 2, 2008 at 12:35 pm
Pedro I already covered that in a prior, you’re not reading your own blog are you?
I listened to his Friday interview on Arsenal online TV.
I can’t believe you didn’t read my comments, 4 out of 10 for you, that’s a Song score after a game.
May 2, 2008 at 12:37 pm
GMR the date at the bottom said 2nd of May. I don’t believe the surprise on the Edelman issue, he probably had something to do with it if the truth be known.
May 2, 2008 at 12:38 pm
I do hope wenger wont be doing his “this is the new Tony adams routine like he did with Senderos” then we know the boy is crap.
May 2, 2008 at 12:41 pm
Geoff, the interview was definately done yesterday!!
May 2, 2008 at 12:42 pm
With Mad Jens,Gilberto,Hleb and Flamini going we will have to find some way to release a giant pile of dosh for wenger otherwise we are fucked.
May 2, 2008 at 12:43 pm
………ohh and Senderos of course.
May 2, 2008 at 12:47 pm
The aussies have a good mentality. Milligan might be a bit straight up and down as a player but sometimes Arsenal like to over-complicate things when sometimes we need a player who will get his ass in gear and do the basic things well and have a bit of bottle.
it wouldn’t surprise me if this Milligan bloke popped up at Stamford Bridge and nicked a goal.
May 2, 2008 at 12:47 pm
I can’t see Hleb going. Only the other day he said he was happy at Arsenal & there was more to come from the team & him. Its the media that are continuing his departure, Wenger has said no club has contacted him so I don’t see anything in that.
May 2, 2008 at 1:10 pm
The rumours made me ROFL a bit. However, it’s worth noting that assistant Australian coach Graham Arnold was in England last month and spent some time with both Wenger and Eriksson. And interestingly, Milligan has been linked to Arsenal, Man City & Fulham.
May 2, 2008 at 1:15 pm
Ethan-bad boy… you should write G1 on your left cheeck only , mother nature will do the rest, if you get me:)))LOL
May 2, 2008 at 1:15 pm
Apparently Hleb has told friends he is moving to Inter Milan and Wenger can’t get in touch with him!
How about grooming Eboue to play the Flamini position? I’m sure that is Eboue’s next port of call!
May 2, 2008 at 1:19 pm
How about grooming Eboue for a move somewhere? Hleb will go no-where, why would he, he loves us and loves getting stuck in, Russia isn’t exactly Rimini you know.
Interesting Pete but why would Wenger be interested in Milligan, when his scouts are all over the world?
Especially the stick he’s been getting regarding unknowns.
May 2, 2008 at 1:31 pm
The one and only reason Hleb will go is that he doesnt get protection from referees.
with his trickery and quick legs he is getting kicked all over the park allmost every game. He had complained about this not once. I dont know if in italy he will be more protected though with their defenders…
AW said once recently_”you should see Hlebs legs after every game with all the bruises….”
May 2, 2008 at 1:34 pm
Must say I get a little confused when I hear Wenger saying ‘The next generation is Lansbury, Gibbs, Randall, Wilshere. I don’t think he (Wilshere) will stay a long time in the Reserves’
I get confused as this lot has just been promoted to the first team from the stiffs and the kids we have in the first team aren’t ready yet???
Clearly they are the future, but shouldn’t we be getting the present sorted out first?
May 2, 2008 at 1:35 pm
Stupid sod should wear proper shin pads then shouldn’t he?
May 2, 2008 at 1:45 pm
shin, ankle, knee, thigh protection…he should look like robokop to be proper protected:)))
Thats the next generation hopefulls and carling cups. And he is trying to sort out future, present, everything but thats too much for 1 person, even AW..
May 2, 2008 at 1:50 pm
well better shin pads or fucking shoot for gods sake,
May 2, 2008 at 2:00 pm
he’s actually got quite a good shot on him… left as well as right.. don’t know why the fuck he hesitates…
May 2, 2008 at 2:00 pm
paulinho .. where did you get that Hlep cant be raeched rumour from?
May 2, 2008 at 2:01 pm
BB i think that was a joke…
May 2, 2008 at 2:01 pm
How about grooming Eboue .PERIOD !
he is scary to look at .. especially when he’s in pain !
but in all honesty is there really a place for the lad ?
every fuckers complaining about hlebs scoring only 2 or 3 this season how about eboue ??
is it you just expect less of him so you dont need to pick on him too much ?
rather pick on hleb who actually has the best touch of our whole team ..
ok he cant score .. he’s not in the team to score .. he’s in there to create !
and does a fuckin good job of it too most times ..
May 2, 2008 at 2:03 pm
but eboue ? he has NEVER scored an EPL goal !
May 2, 2008 at 2:03 pm
If Hleb is here next season he’ll be shoting more.
Our players improve every year and add another aspect to their game.
He says he doesn’t shoot cause his first coach would always say “pass, pass, pass”
Adebayor says he can’t hit the target cause in Africa it was all about dribbling with the ball, and small goal football in the street somewhere. Its not a good excuse, but I can kind of relate to it.
May 2, 2008 at 2:04 pm
thanks Choy .. I put this down to increasing paranoia due to lack of any positive news at the Arse .. bar KE leaving .. one dikkhead gone .. now its PHW’s turn to go up in smoke
May 2, 2008 at 2:05 pm
heres something to spend more money on next season
http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/article1114719.ece
May 2, 2008 at 2:05 pm
1) Eboue gets picked on enough
2) Its not really his fault he’s being played out of position. He’s willing to play where he’s not comfortable while looking silly doing it
May 2, 2008 at 2:09 pm
man u have ronaldo on right wing… we have eboue… go figure..
May 2, 2008 at 2:13 pm
i don’t believe for a second that arsene didn’t know he was going ..
ive worked in offices before , in fact many .. by the time the receptionist has typed out his severance pay and photo copied it .. everyone in the office knows
hes gone !including the tea lady ! if it was a resignation you usually give 2 weeks notice and leave on a friday .. NOT thursday .. Im sure every manager Bar him knew the writing was on the wall ..
Sorry arsene i know office politics ! Its the same when arsene doesn’t see fouls
committed by his players ..
May 2, 2008 at 2:14 pm
choy …
are you saying man U are jealous ??
May 2, 2008 at 2:21 pm
you know choy .. Hleb does shoot a fair bit .. but like ade it always seems to be straight at the person defending him , likened to ade straight at the goalie .
Hleb gives it a fair crack too ! But ALWAYS ALWAYS hits a defender !
its uncanny !
Just watch it .. he does shoot from just in or outside the 16 yard box …
at least once or twice a game ..
May 2, 2008 at 2:24 pm
something sadistic about that.. i think he just wants to wack an opposition player.. last the last game against reading.. the defender almost died!!!
and lads something we all knew…
villa snubs the spuds!!!! hahahah

May 2, 2008 at 2:27 pm
Didn’t Cesc say that they had a bet (Cesc, Hleb, Tomas) on who would score the most?
May 2, 2008 at 2:31 pm
I think the winner is Tomas - he scored 7 in one go didn’t he ?
May 2, 2008 at 2:31 pm
Trinidad
not sure .. but if its true im sure cesc suggested it !
May 2, 2008 at 2:37 pm
lol… cesc won that hands down…
anyways here’s something we always knew..
villa snubs the spuds… hahahah

I hope Hleb didn’t bet like Rooney cause he’d end up in debt and have to move to Milan for more money
May 2, 2008 at 2:39 pm
Liverpool open bidding for £10m Barry
Liverpool are understood to have launched their bid to sign Aston Villa captain Gareth Barry by tabling an initial £10million offer.
The Reds are believed to have formally contacted Villa yesterday with their bid for the England midfielder.

something wrong with the posting system… don’t kill me!!!
May 2, 2008 at 2:41 pm
Liverpool put in a bid for Barry. 10 Mil
http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=530957&cc=5901
May 2, 2008 at 2:44 pm
I tried posting about Liverpool’s offer for Barry
May 2, 2008 at 2:45 pm
Oh now it works. Aparantly Crouch could be part of the deal
May 2, 2008 at 2:46 pm
But what would they do with Macherano?
May 2, 2008 at 2:48 pm
so the flamini deadline is passsed, wtf is going on?
May 2, 2008 at 2:50 pm
Yeah Barry’s off to play Champions League this summer. Barry for 10 mil would be good for us.
May 2, 2008 at 2:52 pm
so 4-4-2 magazine named DB10 as #2 in their list of 50 greatest imports
Two Trinidadians in the list
Dwight Yorke (11) and Russel Latapy (49)
May 2, 2008 at 2:55 pm
Russell who?
May 2, 2008 at 2:59 pm
People in Scotland would know of him … played for Porto, Boavista, Hibernian, Rangers, Dundee, Falkirk (still playing for them .. player-coach at 40)
May 2, 2008 at 3:01 pm
Well the liverpool bid for Barry has been confirmed by Martin O’neill. Wenger won’t compete with them or anyone else for that matter.
It seems all the clubs are doing their shopping early this summer, except of course Arsenal who will dither around for the next few months!!
May 2, 2008 at 3:03 pm
AGENT DENIES ADEBAYOR EXIT TALK
Emmanuel Adebayor’s agent says Arsenal have not received any offers for the striker.
The Togo international, who scored a second-half hat-trick in the 6-2 thrashing of relegated Derby on Monday night, has recently been linked with a move to AC Milan.
However Adebayor’s representative Stephane Courbis denies the player will leave the Emirates Stadium in the summer.
“We have not received concrete offers,” said Courbis.
“Obviously, it is logical that Emmanuel is demanded.
IS THIS THE SORT OF MERCENARY CUNT WE WANT PLAYING FOR OUR CLUB ?
its like his agent is begging some club to be stupid enough into bidding for
ade’s services ! 30 goals and he’s bigger than TH14 without the skill !
this makes me sick to read !!!
May 2, 2008 at 3:06 pm
de ridder who?
May 2, 2008 at 3:07 pm
BB… read it on another forum. Apparently he looked like Kruger out of Top Gun when Maverick guides him down in the plane. He looked stressed and concerned that the Hlebster has the old blower on silent.
May 2, 2008 at 3:12 pm
It’s amazing that the players we want to get sold never go, just talk about it and the players we want fuck off.
What does Ade think we’re all going to say when this shit happens.
Sell him and bring in Villa, or someone that keeps his head down and gets on with it.
May 2, 2008 at 3:16 pm
Okay, the spazzo who said that Wenger could not contact Hleb misinterpreted the comment. Wenger just said no clubs had contacted Hleb.
I’ll just have to see the interview for myself later on to make sure.
May 2, 2008 at 3:18 pm
Good post. Henry would be a good addition but not as a starter. New arsenal home kit leaked, check out -
http://arsenalheat.blogspot.com/2008/05/new-arsenal-home-kit-revealed.html
Pedro - link swap mate? http://arsenalheat.blogspot.com
May 2, 2008 at 3:18 pm
I think they’re both gone anyway. Flamini and Hleb can both bum eachother in Milan, albeit for different clubs.
May 2, 2008 at 3:18 pm
ive had 100 too many beers, im gonna have to check in tomorrow lads…i presume we’ll be after another midfielder by then!
bloody flamini, another edu, wiltord, reyes…
May 2, 2008 at 3:28 pm
ethan..its well know nthat Arsenal are a feeder club .. the only way to keep players is by (a) winning trophies and then (b) paying markets wages
Arsenal are failing on both counts
we have been seen losing our best players year after year
people come to us to make a name for themselves and then fukk off
thats why our own guys dont moan if they dont win trophies..they can win them somewhere else later on
sad but true .. Cesc might be the exception ..
as somebdoy wrote in the online gooner, we were always 3 players short over the last few years and therefore won the league less then our absolute playing level should have warranted .. and thats why we never won the CL
but the bottomline is that this will be Wenger’s last trophyless season as he will go .. so lets see what the outcome will be .. its gonna be interesting..
May 2, 2008 at 4:15 pm
Huntellar please. Looks a cross between DB10 and old horseface.
May 2, 2008 at 4:18 pm
We have always played with at least 2 passengers in our teams for many years.
May 2, 2008 at 4:18 pm
is any of U have seen Montolivo playing Floretina Vs Rengers last night he is the player i rate to replace Flamini this guy is great and cheap I think he is $4-5 good for Arsena and get jonson for $7
May 2, 2008 at 4:19 pm
I know this isn’t related but what about Vincent van den Berg. Any news about him etc…
May 2, 2008 at 4:21 pm
Been elusive AGAIN today, sorry Grovers !
Anyway, so some of you at Small & Beautiful on the Blackstock road on Sunday. Meeting at 11am, so make that 11.30, although saying that, my dearest brother Steven is cadging his own lift up there, so I probably will be on time !!!!!!!!
By the way, I heard a rumour that there was a rumour about a rumour that we were rummoured to buy lots of GREAT players, well lets hope the rumours are true !!!!!!
May 2, 2008 at 4:23 pm
By the way in 442, who was the number 1 import???
May 2, 2008 at 4:34 pm
going to have some kebabs now!!
May 2, 2008 at 4:41 pm
SO ITS AMONTHER 48 HOURS FOR FLAMINI , AFTER 8 MONTHS Why fucking bother , and dont pick him if he’s going to piss us around, rather see landsbury involved if fit…
And now the obvious piss take lets save RVP, THATS RIGHT LETS LOOK AFTER HIM FOR THE EURO 2008 TOURNAMENT , BECAUSE THE CLUB THAT PAYS HIS WAGES WANT HIM OK FOR HOLLAND………
bollocks wenger this is the obvious piss take no matter how talented he is ,his record over the last two seasons prove that he will never play a full season for us in that case fuck him off in the summer and let some one else pick up the tab………..
May 2, 2008 at 4:42 pm
Anger Simon……. let one out of the gun buddy, calm down !!!!!!!
May 2, 2008 at 4:46 pm
I know Bud, Still Feelling pissed off about blowing the league, and the grat champions league robberry!!!!
May 2, 2008 at 4:57 pm
I know, but they say adversity makes you stronger, so with that little bit extra, next year hombre, next year……….. if we fail next year though, I am definitely jumping on your rage wagon !!!!!!!
May 2, 2008 at 5:09 pm
If adversity makes us stronger we should be world beaters next year…
Something like Ajas from 70’s, Barca of 80’s, Real of 90’s and Milan of early 00’s combined:)))
May 2, 2008 at 5:19 pm
Yeah right, I make you right Simon, what right does Wenger have to save RVP, then let him go and play all summer, then get injured, then come back, not play for most of the season and not replace him with Villa or Benzema because we still have him.
If you understood all of that you’ll be as pissed off as me and Simon.
May 2, 2008 at 5:38 pm
If adversity makes us stronger
we should be fucking Iron man now .. !
or if enraged we should be 15 feet tall and fucking green !
Im passed it .. both those 2 stages ..
I cant believe we have the recipe for being world beaters
and we cant even beat an egg !
lets all think about 6-2 result of derby and pump or selves up a bit ..
As for saving RVP … well the clubs last important game is tomorrow
who cares if RVP is injured to july after that ! does the holland national team pay the cunts wages ?
Great weve got to look forward to ade in the starting line up !
wenger said Flamini was fit for tomorrows game so im sure
thats why we havent heard the bad news yet!.. So we dont throw
coins wrapped in foil at the cunt !
