Arsenal dismiss £25mil as we chase Niko Kranjcar and N’Zogbia

by & filed under Uncategorized.

Slaven Bilic believes Niko Kranjcar will join Arsenal in the summer and media circles believe we are back in for winger Charles N’Zogbia, both are old rumours but would fit the Wenger profile, Premiership proven and cheap.

My fear here is we’ll bring in two no names like these and let go of Flamini on a free and Hleb for the £15 mil these two would cost, then buy a couple of youngsters and that’s it.

Same as last season, bring in a couple, sell a couple and bring in a few from the reserves, thus saving even more than we did last year, and weakening the squad again, so we’ll struggle on 4 fronts, sound familiar?

I would be very disappointed to see Hleb go as I think this season he became the player that Wenger splashed out on 3 years ago, Flamini looks set to go, but he may surprise us too, so who knows.

I don’t really know much about Kranjcar or N’Zogbia but if we’re going Premier league I would go for Gareth Barry to fill the Flamini role.

Arsenal dismissed the £25 million transfer kitty as pure speculation so we got that right, first, here on Le Grove, what a load of twaddle, the only worry about whatever we have is will he spend it? I’m still hoping he pulls a Kaka out of the hat. I’ve a little feeling he may just surprise us all, but that could just be me and my wishful thinking.

Resting the players playing this summer is an insult to the fans, it’s like playing a weakened side in the cups, Arsenal football club should always field it’s strongest side and go out and try to win every game, if you want to experiment, do that with the reserves, we pay to see the best possible side trying its best to win. Though I accept we need to experiment pre season.

Finally there is a lot of speculation surrounding legend, Thierry Henry and Newcastle, it won’t happen. He told this to the BBC ‘There’s only one team for me in my heart. It took me a while to understand what that club, Arsenal meant to me.’

Fine words indeed Thierry, I would have you back and put you on the wing, in a heartbeat.

Flamini, listen to me, you are good, mostly because this team makes you look good, move to Italy and play to 12,000 fans every week and you will suffer, Henry was a better player than you will ever be, and look what’s happened to him.

Lots of interesting comments on Pedro’s controversial blog yesterday, lots of divided views and a few new Grovers, but all clean and true to the no slagging mantra of the site, well done and look forward to seeing you today.

Check out the Niko Kranjcar video if you need to refresh you memory. He is quite a player by the looks of things.

That’s why we started the site… blog like you’d chat in a pub!

World war III in a forum gets boring and you get riled! Not a good way to go through the day!

So thanks to you guys for making this a very pleasant place to air my views!

I think Bertie will stay, its all about that British passport! Unless he fancies West Ham?

  2. Geoff

I personally think it’s other websites jealous of all the fun we have. Remember the site that no one reads? he posts about us at least half the week, also the other sites get very few comments compared to this one these days.

  3. odub

There in lies your answer Geoff/Pedro, they dont get anywhere near as many comments, and come on here to try and wind people up cos there’s nothing going on on their sites!

  4. Paulinho

Kranjkar is too slow. He has a decent technical game but he hasn’t got the dynamism to go past anyone. Hleb is alot better, although Kranjkar would let a few more shots go.

  5. DennisDaMenace

I currently work in Brussels, and all the local lads rave on about Kompany, i know i know Belgium footie and all that, but i think he currently plays for Bayern.

So, does anyone think that Kompany would be worth a punt for a big CB??

  6. Paulinho

It would be typical if we kept that sack of shit Flamini and lost Hleb instead. Things are going south pretty quickly.

  7. DennisDaMenace

Odub, do you really believe anything that pikie rag has to say about The Arse? I stopped buying that biased pile o’ crap years ago……..

  8. Odub

get it free in the gym every morning mate! Not my paper or choice, but it’s my favourite price….free!!! so i read the website from time to time.

  9. DennisDaMenace

Apologies, apparently Kompany play for Hamburg not Bayern……..might get him on the cheap then………that should please the suits!!

  10. Ethan_gooner

HERE HERE GEOFF – PEDRO ..

This blog is by far the best … And the best bit is so many realistic views ..
Not processed media tabloid vomit . All these avengers reading arsene’s words like
disciples .All chanting the same view .. If your going to be like that just read arsenal . com
    END OF ..

whats the point in coming onto a blog and vomiting the same fur ball arsene just coughed up the day before ??
get an opinion .. air the opinion ..

    and chris ! yes
he is the number 1 defender of choice for me !
    Vincent Kompany !
But what would he cost ??? $$$$$$

  11. choy

so we’re still offering 5k a week less than the italian clubs to flamini…

    what do you guys think…

    I think he’ll stay…

  12. DennisDaMenace

Hey there aren’t any free players going at this gym by any chance, you could give AW a shout, as it won’t be long before we’re reduced to looking for on-loan, free transfer players at this rate….

  13. Trinidad_Gunner

Yeah I saw that improved offer .. 55,000 … good enough. Take if or F-off

Sneijder doesn’t have to be cover for cesc. He’ll play on the left wing and cover for cesc when he needs a rest.
If somehow we get someone like Sneijder, we won’t remember who was Alex Hleb.

  14. James73

Sadly I think he’s off. I rate him highly, I have always liked his attitude. When it comes to player’s I would like us to sign I struggle to think of any in the right price bracket!

How about Raphael Van Der Vaart of Hamburg? What I have seen of him he looks very good and I am sure could create lots of chances in our team. Probably out of our price range though.

  15. Ethan_gooner

    choy …

I think he’s already agreed to terms to be honest ..
i read that one of the board pretty much said , the offers there but
you can lead a horse to water but you cant make him drink it ..

It all sounded very positive .. NOT ..
Im more worried about Hleb .. and his ice cream fetish !!!

  16. Trinidad_Gunner

I was talking up Rafael a few days ago.
With his signing, Hamburg went from mid-table, to Europe for 3 successive years.
    Last I checked, 91 games, 45 goals.
    From midfield.
    LM or CM.

The thing is, he really wants to leave HSV. Valencia wanted him for 18M last year, but Hamburg didn’t sell. He’s leaving this summer though, almost 100% sure.

  17. Odub

I doubt we could afford their wages Dennise!

Are we talking the Sneijder at Real? He wouldnt be cover for Cesc as he’s plays on the right. He’d score freekcicks and take shots from 30 yards out though, something no one else seems to know how to do at the mo!

I’d take 55k to play for arsenal, so would every player in our youth set up, and numerous other quality players world wide, if he doesnt want it he can fuck off to Juve, theyre getting done for corruption again soon, he can go and play in Serie C when they get relegated the cnut!

  18. DennisDaMenace

Choy, on the one hand if it truly is a ‘mere’ 5k a week, why would he move for that sort of increase?? However, why aren’t AFC trying to match such a ‘paltry’ sum?? Aren’t we supposed to be the 2nd richest club in the land?? Hasn’t AW said it’s his first priority to keep this squad (what there is of it) together??

My gut feeling is that if he intended to sign he would’ve done so by now. He can only be waiting for his contract to run out (June?) so he can legally sign for A N Other club. And, with that in mind showing that sort of attitude/commitment to the club he can poke off………

  19. Ollie

Ethan, i dissagree. My Blogs Better!! :) not.. I have a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG way to go to even COMPARE myself…
Seriously, as soon as i started reading here, i was hooked. Dont know where you guys dig up your info from, but you do a hell of a good job. Keep it up!
    Ahem… right, moving on!
Improved offer for flam? dunno.. depends how long they sign it for.
as for Bertie leaving.. id like to see him stay, but if we get a really good offer for him, i think we should let him go. Id be one of the ones sorry to see him go.

  20. Trinidad_Gunner

If Flamingo leaves for Juve, I hope they get relegated again. Then we’ll take Buffon and whoever else they have on the cheap. Last time they got relegated most of the players offed to Barca and Real.

On Van Der Vaart … there are Chelsea and Barca rumors. For our sake, I hope its not Chelsea, because he’s better than Frank and Ballack.

  21. choy

dennis.. the thing is if we give in to his demands…
tomorrow ade is at the door asking for 60k..
then toure… then clichy.. then the whole god damn team + reserves…

so a line must be drawn somewhere…

we don’t pay high wages cause..

    1. We don’t have the money

    or

    2. The Board are busy investing it elsewhere.

Doesn’t help that we have to pay kids who are 10 years old and ply their trade at Arsenal.

  22. goonerjay

I’ve just watched a video of that Kompany fella… he aint bad at all… lanky streak of piss, just what we need and he looks very comfortable with the ball at his feet and looks good going round people too… could he be the answer?

  23. choy

There are a lot of answers.. just that we never seem to be asking the right questions… or we hardly ask any questions!

lol… goonerjay.. some funnies on a friday please!

  24. Odub

reaaly goonerjay? thought he was mainly a RM, they tend to play Guti or Raul in the middle with Diarra.

So do we think Hamburg will sell both Kompany and Van der vaart?

  25. goonerjay

the game i saw Raul was playing up front with Higauin playing RM and occasionally moving in and playing behind Raul. Sneijder and Guti played CM and looked quite impressive

  26. Odub

goonerjay I feel your pain mate, I’m from today till the tuesday after the bank holiday!! ………

Feel free to tell me to piss off if you want!!

  27. DennisDaMenace

Choy, you’re right fella……a line must be drawn, i’ll wind my neck in….i’m just getting fecked off that every summer we go through the same old “will he, won’t he” shenanigans…..

I’m also a little concerned that if we loose Flamini and/or Hleb it’ll be an ideal opportunity for The Nutty Professor to save even more money by replacing them with a couple of 15 year old Botswanan prodigies………….arghhhhh no more PLEASE!!

Seriously tho, if he has been offered 55k a week to play for The Arse and that’s not good enough for him then he can definately sod off…….after all if he’s worth 55k a week what’s Cesc worth??

  28. goonerjay

Juande Ramos is queuing in his local building society, when a gunman bursts in through the door demanding money. Ramos attempts to tackle the raider, but gets knocked over…as he falls, his head smashes the counter and Ramos is out cold. The robber escapes and the cashier tries to revive Ramos. After a few minutes he comes round and looks bewildered. His first words are “Where the hell am I?”. The Cashier replies: “don’t worry, its ok, you’re in the Nationwide.” …Ramos replies, “F**k me, is it May already?”

  29. BB

i reckon if we wanted to sign Kompany, we would face a bit of competition..
whih means that his price would go up..which in turn means that we wont buy him..

  30. Trinidad_Gunner

Wesley Sneijder plays on either wing, or in the middle.
He plays in the middle alot for Madrid.

He is one player they won’t sell though, they would sell Robinho before Wesley.
They paid at least 20 Mil for him last summer and he’s been one of their best players this year. So they would want something ridiculous like 40 Mil.
Our chance to sign him was when he was at Ajax.

Same with Van Der Vaart. He is available, but HSV will want at least 20 Mil. Although they bought him from Ajax for 6. That was our chance to get him, 3 years ago. At 22. He was already ripping for Ajax.

    Same will happen to Huntelaar.

I guess Arsene’s singing unestablished players works in theory .. if you get 5 young players for 10 Mil total. even if 2 make it into really good players, it cost you 10 Mil for 2 players, and not 20 Mil for one.
Van Der Vaart and Sneijder were being touted from when they were 16 though, and Wenger should have stole in for them when they were at Ajax for cheap.

  31. choy

if cesc was at any other club then i’m sure he would have been paid more than 100k pw

just hope that the boy doesn’t realize what money can get you..!!!!

  32. chris

well if the report is true ie flamini getting improved offer, then may be he will sign, what has he been waiting for but an improvement and now he has it,
that monthy python bit was amusing charybdis

  33. DennisDaMenace

Hey chaps, do you think that AW & Co. would throw their well known pay structure outta the window if it meant trying to keep Cesc??

  34. choy

odub.. hope he tells villa to accept a 60k a week paycheck and come to arsenal…

    dennis..

i think they will.. they did for henry… no?

  35. Odub

choy, with valencia 2 points from relegation, I hope AW’s got his eye on a couple of their starts just in case they go down…again…doubt it!!

  36. goonerjay

A very loud, unattractive, hard-faced woman walks into Sainsbury’s with her two kids in tow, screaming obscenities at them all the way through the Entrance.

The door greeter says, “Good morning and welcome to Sainsbury’s, nice Children you’ve got there. Are they twins?”

The fat ugly woman stops screaming long enough to snarl:

“Of course they bloody aren’t! The oldest, he’s nine and the younger one, she’s seven. Why the hell would you think they’re twins?
Do you really think they look alike, ya dickhead?”
“Absolutely not,” replies the greeter, “I just can’t believe anyone would F**k you twice!

  37. gazzap

There is a trusty formula to know whether or not wenger will buy a player we are linked to in the papers/websites.
Have you heard or him and does the player have a good reputation?

If the answer to either of these questions is yes, then Wenger wont be buying them.

I have heard of Kompany and he is quite good, therefore, No go.

  38. Odub

good one goonerjay! Where’s your rival Steve these days?

We lose the league title and he buggers off until next season! Poor!!

  39. BB

gazzap /.. Bullard for Wigan/Fulham..not for Arsenal .. please .. do we really have to tout any crap player in the world!! so we sell Gilberto who plays for Brazil and buy Bullard coz he is a fukking Brit and therefore must be good!! is that it again??

gimme a break .. he is shiit and plays for teams that are shiit .. end of the story

  40. Odub

great bloke jimmy bullard, have had many a giggle at his antics on soccer am, but he isnt good enuff for us me thinks.

  41. Arsenaldo

why dont U try AVAST Browser guys- Im using it 4 some time and is very good. Much lighter than Firefox and is the most downloaded Browser on the net.

  42. charybdis1966

Gazzap, when I saw Bullard playing against us for Wigan he looked so fragile and slight I thought he might snap somewhere.

He did, when he was at Fulham.

What we really need is a big, frightening midfielder in the Vieira mould – we’ve needed that for too long now.

  43. Pedro

Remember that snapped leg? Fucking rough…

Not for Arsenal though! He is 29, about 16 years to old for us!

  44. jimmyfingers

I think Flamini is replacable: there are plenty of good and even better central defensive midfielders. Hleb is less so, but that said wouldn’t Modric be a nailed replacement for him? Also Vela can play in a withdrawn central position apparently. Also without Hleb maybe Wenger won’t play his 4-5-1 approach so much, instead deplaying RvP/Ade/Bendtner/Theo centrally with some wingers

Don’t think we should fret too much over these two. They want away, they can fuck off and see how much fun it is playing in Italy, with defensive minded teams and half full stadia. Oh and a lovely undercurrent of racism

Plenty of good pickings out there for Wenger, sure he’ll spend…………something. Eduardo and Sagna were good last summer, more of the same and maybe a superstar

  45. Arsenaldo

I reallly hope well get rid of Sombreros but dont believe will happen, as he is 4 some reason one of AW favourites ,and unless he wants to go Wenger wont ditch him.

  46. chris

ha ha ha arsenaldo, i really only like IE, firefox takes a long time to load (5 seconds is too long) and annoying updates that need confirming and fucking yahoo toolbar trying to get involved,
firefox is good for multiple links when i am downloading movies via rapidshare,

  47. Odub

yeah Pedro, his knee cap was facing the wrong way!!!! fuck that was horrible!

with you on that JF higher profile players have come and gone, they just look better than they are because they play in decent team.

  48. Arsenaldo

Diaby is injury prone guys -he is good ,but not as good as Flamster.
And this salary policy is soooo stupid . When we will learn that if we dont pay players what they deserve sooner or later they will be lured in ”bigger” club. I dont say we should pay over the tops money ,but I think Flamini deserves more than 55k a week. He was our best player this season so should be paid at least as much as the other top earners..

  49. Arsenaldo

As 4 Kranchar -I like him very much and think hell fit very well in our team, as he is tall, strong , good technique, and the most important thing-HE SHOOTS OUTSIDE THE PENALTY area. That is something I dont understand why is not happening . maybe our midfield players are tiny and dont have that much power

  50. Pedro

Willy G getting his knickers in a twist,

“They [the media] can say what they want… they will not bring me down, I’m stronger than that. It makes me mad because I don’t think [what happened in Birmingham] was our problem. How can you summarise our season with that thing at Birmingham? That is not why we stopped winning matches.”

  51. goonerjay

    Boy: Dad, what’s politics?

Dad: Let me set an example with our family. I have all the money so we’ll call me the management. Mom receives most of it so we’ll call her the government. We’ll call the maid the working class, you are the people, and your baby brother is the future. Do you understand now son?

Boy: I still don’t understand dad.

Dad: Think about it for a while son.

That night the boy wakes up because his baby brother is crying. He goes in and finds out he’s soiled his nappy. He goes to tell his mom but she’s asleep he goes in to the maids room but she’s in there having sex with his dad. He bangs on the door but no one can here him.

    The next day…

Son: Dad I understand politics now.

Dad: Good, explain it to me in your own words son.

Son: The management is screwing the working class while the government is fast asleep. The people are being ignored and the future is full of SH*T!

  52. charybdis1966

So Odub, you don’t have a cunning plan, more cunning than a fox that’s been appointed professor of Cunning at Oxford University ?

  53. chris

amazing, python is like essential viewing for student/stoners, black adder as well, bottom? red dwarf? young ones?

  54. charybdis1966

Seen Wenger is threatening to report Milan to FIFA about the tapping up of Hleb.

No doubt the gutter press and Manc-loving media will portray this as more Arsene Whinger moans again.

Wanting to keep his players – how very dare he !

  55. goonerjay

Wenger needs to do something about our players being tapped up all the time!

    BA Announcement

Until further notice BA has halted all flights from the UK.

BA announced: “I aint getting on no plane fool!”

  56. Odub

charybdis he’ll forever be known as a moaner, despite the fact that rednose does more moaning than him, and gets more touchline bans than him as well.

  57. charybdis1966

The only difference with old 65% proof noses moaning is that the FA/Media are a bunch of gutless cowards who are shit scared of him and they let him get away with it – Murdoch’s hacks won’t get interviews with him if they upset him. So like the streaks of piss that they are they all suck up to Fergie.

    Pathetic.

  58. choy

its karma… we tap a lot of young players too.. i don’t think we should be complaining in that department!

  59. Odub

Flamini – was under contract at Marseille, and threatened to go on strike if he didnt get sold to us
    Fab – Nicked for free
Gallas – threw a hissy fit and asked to join us.
Numeous other youngsters we’ve got on our books – tapped up, so agree with choy, what goes around comes around!

We’re just as bad as anyone else!

    Am I wrong?

  60. charybdis1966

Fab – his arrival was within the FIFA rules in operation at the time.
Gallas – again, within the rules depsite whatever issues he had with Mourinho/Slippery Kenyon or whoever had annoyed him at the PRF
All youngsters are also signed within the rules I’d suspect – otherwise we’d be seeing the red-tops screaming “Arsenal tap up youngster scandal”, whereas we get “Whinger moans about nothing as usual” instead.

I’m not saying we’re whiter than white – more pointing out the disproportinate and illogical reaction to Wenger when he points out that his ESTABLISHED are stars being tapped up.

  61. Odub

charybdis I think you’ll find Gio was offered at a knockdown price as a sweetner on the Fab deal (so I’ve heard), and although I know we eventually sign these kids within the rules, something tells me Platini’s got us on his radar for a reason.

    THE MOST FUNCTIONAL ENGLISH WORD

Well, its shit … that’s right, shit!
Shit may just be the most functional word in the English
    language.

    Consider:
You can get shit-faced, be shit-out-of-luck or have shit for
    brains.
With a little effort, you can get your shit together, find a
place for your shit or be asked to shit or get off the pot.

You can smoke shit, buy shit, sell shit, lose shit, find shit,
forget shit and tell others to eat shit.

Some people know their shit, while others can’t tell the
    difference between shit and shineola.
There are lucky shits, dumb shits and crazy shits. There is bull
shit, horse shit and chicken shit.

You can throw shit, sling shit, catch shit, shoot the shit or
duck when the shit hits the fan.

You can give a shit or serve shit on a shingle.
You can find yourself in deep shit or be happier than a pig in
    shit.

Some days are colder than shit, some days are hotter than shit
and some days are just plain shitty.
Some music sounds like shit, things can look like shit and there
are times when you feel like shit.

You can have too much shit, not enough shit, the right shit, the
wrong shit or a lot of weird shit.

You can carry shit, have a mountain of shit or find yourself up
    shit creek without a paddle.
Sometimes everything you touch turns to shit and other times you
fall in a bucket of shit and come out smelling like a rose.

When you stop to consider all the facts, it’s the basic building
    block of the English language.
And remember, once you know your shit, you don’t need to know
    anything else!!
You could pass this along, if you give a shit; or not do so if
    you don’t give a shit!
Well, Shit, it’s time for me to go. Just wanted you to know that
I do give a shit and hope you had a nice day, without a bunch of shit.
But, if you happened to catch a load of shit from some
    shit-head……….. Well, Shit Happens!!!

  63. charybdis1966

I sense Platini has a personal issue with Wenger – it seems all his legislative changes have been motivated by a desire to piss Arsenal off.

Platini just digs away at us incessantly, bit by bit – could it be envy ?

  64. Odub

liked platini as a player, felt for him whe ey lot to the geran in the world cup and all that, but he’s turning into a fucking twat since he got into uefa.

  65. charybdis1966

Perhaps someone was spurned by someone else…who knows.

I know vendetta is an Italian word – but it seems more gallic in this occasion.

  66. Odub

french dont like people messing with their birds, cheese and wine! They’ll challenge anyone to a duel over those 3 things!! Sacre bleu!

  67. Pedro

    251!

Not bad comments on a day where wordpress is fucked!

I’m off out now, have a good Friday night chaps… its beer o’clock!

  68. Pedro

    Wenger,

“Statements from inside the club saying they are interested in our players, without calling us that is not acceptable,” Wenger told the press on Friday. “You would never hear me saying that. If I am interested in a player I go to the chairman.

“The newspapers may have the speculation but for a club to come out with a statement like that and not even call… I think it is disrespectful. It is illegal.

“But we have not gone as far as reporting it.”

What about Ben Arfa a couple of weeks ago Arsene?

  69. Pedro

    On Thierry,

“In our situation you can never say never. He only left last year and I think Thierry is disappointed because things haven’t gone as well as he would have liked them to go. I still feel he is a world-class player and I think he will prove in Barcelona that he is one of their better players.”

  70. charybdis1966

Pedro, he said “IF he is for sale, we are interested” , that’s not the same as saying that Hleb’s on their transfer target list for this summer, and secretly meeting him without the clubs consent as Inter have done.

  71. charybdis1966

Choy, do you say that as you disagree with his assessment of Henry’s future – or is it just a general comment ?

  72. charybdis1966

He certainly does have the look of a man under a lot of pressure nowadays.

This summer will be a make or break transfer window for him I reckon.

  73. chris

he has said it has been his worse time since arriving, he surely must be thinking lets change this and improve that

  74. Pedro

    Chary!

If you were standing there with your wife/GF and someone said,

I want to sleep with your wife

    or…

I would sleep with you wife if she was available

… which would piss you off more?

Neither… they both mean the same thing! Someone wants to sleep with your wife and they are letting her know!

We want Ben Arfa, regardless of whether he is for sale. He knows of our interest and now he can agitate for a move if he fancies it!

  75. Ethan_gooner

    pedro
He is 29, about 16 years to old for us!

Sounds like half the western men here !
Any way anyone game enough to guess the line up Vs Derby ???

this one i find a bit hypocritical .. as i think we did the same to ben arfa ! or should i say arsene did .. But it raises the questions that ICECREAM GATE .. obviously was a cover up.. And lets face it .. it was a pretty weak excuse .. i think everyone must of had a laugh at that one !! But it seems funny to me arsene complained when it happened and is now complaining again ……… It must mean hlebs leaving .. either that or the timing is freaky friday material !

something less reliable is this one about TH 14 ..

so maybe the prodigal son will return after all ?
cant say id be unhappy with that signing !

    3 million + eboue ??
sounds about right to me ..

JUST READ ON THE OFFICIAL ARSENAL SITE THAT SAGNA IS NOW OUT FOR THE SEASON , THE LIES COMING OUT OF THE CLUB ARE PISSING ME OFF,
IT WAS SAID THAT BEFORE THE MANURE , AGAIN ON THE SITE AND BY WENGER HIMSELF THAT HE HAD A SMALL CHANCE FOR A RETURN AGAINST MAN URE,
I think like like a fellow fan on this site has already mentioned That the whole medical backroom staff should be fired at the end of the season,
every bloody injury our players seem to pick up means at least a month or more out
what does tolbert do as the strenght and conditioning coach because his results are speaking for themselves .
And the early indications for the sqad for the derby game is that wenger has said that it will almost be the same squad as the one that played reading, Great Arsene with third place virtually in the bag ,why cant these kids who he seems to have blind faith in get a game
we should be seeing if fit people like Barazite, Landsbury, Fonte ,.

    SIMON

i would personally play my strongest squad ..
    every time!
well knowing arsene there will be some small changes
but i think if Man U beat the chev’s Arsene could get 2nd place ..
Knowing arsene he wants to appease the critics ..
try finish 2nd .. i think the last 9 points are in the bag ..
at home to everton is the toughest game left..
And i think we can win that too ..

    Fabianski
    Toure, Gallas, Song, Clichy,
    Walcott, Gilberto/Denilson, Gilberto/Fabregas, Traore/Denilson
    RVP, Adebayor

Bench: Mannone, Bendtner, Eboue, Senderos, Denilson/Traore

After the injuries, this is all we’ve got unless we dig into the the reserves.

By the way, what do you say about this Ethan, you claimed that Henry and Wenger aren’t mates…whats’s all this?

    http://www.arsenal.com/article.asp?thisNav=News&article=490739&lid=NewsHeadline&Title=Wenger+-+I%27ll+never+say+never+over+Henry+coming+back

If Henry came back we could make much better use of him, but I doubt it’ll happen
I’d rather a top class striker rather than Henry, but I’m sure Henry would be more useful than Bendtner or Walcott.

  81. GMR

I see ANR are reporting that Hleb has signed for Inter Milan & that it will be announced shortly by the Italian Media. Apparently they have agreed a fee with Arsenal.

I don’t particularly believe this is true, but if not I still think its over 90% certain that he will leave now. He went to a meeting with Milan already so its clear he wants out.

  82. Finestcuts

Hleb wants a double scoop of Haagez Dazs at half time and Flamini just talks shit, he’s carrying on like he hasn’t made his mind up but if you leave negotations hanging with no feedback, then go.
Flamini, your Arsenal days are done, thank the club before you leave, don’t try and say we tried to short change you. Flamini and Hleb were so world class we went through a period of relegation form with them playing, and they didn’t exactly set the world on fired, they’re only good with much better players about. It pisses me off to hear Hleb’s agent scoffing at how world class he is. One season of no trophies and hardly any goals, you call that world class do you?

World class is someone like Maradona, the guy almost single handedly lead Napoli to 2 serie A titles, those two are just cogs in the machine.

  83. GMR

I hope if Hleb has gone that Wenger doesn’t consider Kranjcar as a replacement. I can’t see that bloke being any good at Arsenal. Arsenal’s game is all about pace & from what I’ve seen of Niko he doesn’t have any at all.

  84. ArseNole

I don’t think it’s an insult to play less than our best team the last three games. We are already guaranteed Champion’s League football for next year, and we want to see what some of the younger players can do right? I’d love to see Barazite and Nordtveit get a run out against a team like Derby.

  85. Trinidad_Gunner

Kranjcar and Zogo would be okay buys if Wenger doesn’t count them as “real quality”
If we get both of them, and 2 “real quality” players, next season would look bright red.

  86. Trinidad_Gunner

Flamini and his Italian roots can F-off.
Its like when St Patricks day comes around, every American claims to be 1/8 Irish or something like that.

  87. Trinidad_Gunner

If Flamini goes to Juve and they get relegated for match fixing, he’d have to play in Seria B, and no CL for 2 years.

  88. Trinidad_Gunner

I though Juve was leading the race?
Anyway .. AC Milan … aren’t they 5th in the league which means no CL football if they can’t catch Fiorentina?

  89. GMR

Choy, you’re right Fabregas doesn’t have any pace & it shows. If he did have pace we wouldn’t have conceded the 4th goal at Liverpool & he’d have scored early on against Reading last week, luckily they were so poor it didn’t matter, but his lack of pace has been shown up at times so getting another slow player for the wing wouldn’t really be ideal. Cesc can get away with it a bit more because he sits in central midfield controlling the game & I don’t think there are many better than him at doing that.

Wenger’s attitude is beginning to rub off on the other staff at Arsenal like Steve Bould. Arsenal U18′s play at Aston Villa tomorrow in the first semi final to decide who wins the league & this is what Bould had to say:

“But like I have said before, the result isn’t the most important thing, I just want to show people that we know how to play.”

I know its the U18′s but this is the sort of mentality that Wenger is teaching our players & it can’t be right. Steve Bould was happy to play dull football under Graham in order to get a result so I don’t truly believe this is coming from him!!

  90. Gooner7

Guys, Flamini will go to Serie A with a better package. He’s quite good at misleading and lying. Let me quote José Anigo, “This is a beautiful treason. He used me.”

  91. choy

    GMR..

I think that’s where you are wrong.. at such and age.. 14.. 15..

the kids should be encouraged how to enjoy their game… if they are pressurised to win every game then it could probably hinder their development….

i suppose only time will tell .. but i wouldn’t discount the fact they had a disagreement .. Almost father and son like .. think of american chopper :)

But in all seriousness . I think about any break up .. cleaning out your locker
or your x wife taking all the furniture .. Whatever .. im sure they both had a few choice words to say .. I mean how gutted were you when you knew he left ? i was , it was like someone taking the jam from your donut ..

I rest my case .. But wenger has been humbled recently .. check out my 10 .40 am post .. wenger accepts some blame for this season , and thats the 1st step to change i hope .. And yes i want him back even if he was 35 !
Like you said he is head and shoulders above any striker we currently own !

but i wouldn’t waste him out on the wing … give him his old role back ..
his legs aren’t that fresh .. He’s needs to bang in goals .. not create more chances ! providing we still have walcott rosicky hleb we dont need anymore
players who create yet don’t score .. (walcott isnt in that group but im sure will be our right winger next season )
We need someone who can create a final product ..TH14 is the man .
    and arsene knows it …

    will it happen ???
    i doubt it ..
    but we can dream …

  93. Stupid

flamini signs for meelan on a 5 yrs deal worth 4 mill euros a year.

    fucking mercenary.

the arsenal curse will get him.

  94. Pedro

So Hleb has gone to inter?

    Fucking marvellous!

If he has gone… may he flop there like he did at Arsenal for 2 years!

    He can’t score, he can’t really assist… so I don’t fucking care.

Great dribbler though…so is my 8 month old nephew…

    Get a proper winger Arsene!

We Want Robinhooooooo, We Want Robinhooooooo, We Want Robinhooooooo,

  95. Ethan_gooner

well i read it on the ANR .. that he’s got his house for rent ..
and fees have been finalized .. but he did say it all could be cods…
Also arsene only just handed out a hands off warning ..RE HLEB.

But with all the ice cream debate and banter made public by arsene when
we played AC .. Its not really that surprising .. Something was up !!!!

Every other team takes players off us .. every year because we win NOTHING !
The club has been devoid of stature for some time .. Hence these young player IF they do come good they will naturally go …
players want silverware but our squad is never up to scratch .. 2 or 3 super stars
surrounded by average players .. These 2 or 3 superstars every year will be picked off
and then its back to the drawing board .buy some more and wait for next season .
    GROUNDHOG DAY
Surely even arsene can see it ..
Thats why we need people like gilberto’s age to hang around , settled and quite happy
to stay , i only gave him as an example but in all honesty we really haven’t seen enough of him this year TO AFFORD TO KEEP HIM AROUND!!
Arsene killed 2 players with one stone there , flamini gone – gilberto gone ..
one thru lack of chances – the other with 2 many chances ! in fact make that 3 with diarra ! That was a real bungle !

I said we had the best midfield in the EPL in november ..
i was concerned that flamini wouldnt sign
then (we all know arsenes wage policy) , i thought if cesc goes and flamini we would go from hero’s to zeros ..
well i was wrong about cesc (touch wood) but hleb flamini is just about the same effect
and one of them will walk out the door without a cent coming back in the other direction .weve gone from having cover personified to in the shit …

in december we had – hleb-cesc-flamini -diarra now it seems we’ve only got the cesc show left !
thats ok thou we got gilberto – denilson and diaby !
    WHOOOAAA im pumped :)

    NOT …
