Comeback Kings send Bolton down and thank you Krusty.

So when the dust has settled on this fantastic 3 points we have to put things into perspective, so in this short post today I’ll try my best.

1) We never beat Bolton at the Reebok so I don’t care how, there’s a saying in golf ‘there are no pictures on a scorecard’ meaning who cares how, the important thing is, the 3 points.

2) 10 men, we only had 10 men, we only had 10 men (there’s a song there somewhere)

3) We were 2 down

4) Wenger made substitutions when we needed them for once

So a big thank you to Krusty the clown for the assist to Captain King Billy Gallas, who had a great game by all accounts, and a captains one at that.

Hopefully Bolton will get relegated and we won’t have to go to that backward part of the country again for a few years, unless that is we go to see fat Sam in a pie eating contest as that’s all he’s good at or Preston North End win promotion.

Nothing much else today save that Rafa has already agreed terms with two youngsters and one senior player and Wenger says he’ll try and keep his team together before he buys Ben Arfa, or at least that’s what I think he’s saying!

Have a good Sunday Grovers, it’s been a while, let’s hope that Middlesbrough and Everton win today so we can smile all the way to Mondays post.

to come back with ten men is fantastic, and just the sort of attitude before the CL, confidence will be high, impact subs were made, rvp gets a goal for his confidence also, just brill,
    well done the boys,

Still not good enough for the title we have a chance in the champions leauge but we need at least two good signings in the summer, a winger and a world class centre back.

What a shot in the arm prior to the “liverpool trilogy”

i fear for the scousers, i really do. we have the indian sign over them anyway, and with the added confidence of this mamouth victory, i can now really firmly believe we can take something form all 3 games.

3 points great comeback, ok fine the first 60 minutes were dire, and Cesc played the whole game cross eyed because he couldnt make a pass to save his life! The defence went AWOL on both their goals and RVP’s radar is still a bit off, but AW made the changes the boys came good, and we won the game.

The press, pundits,so callsed experts and anyone else who doesnt think playing 10 men for 60 minutes against a robust overlly physical Bolton side (notnithstanding how shit they’ve been this season), does not deserve some credit, can F off!

    3 points end of!

Enjoy the rest of the weekend grovers back on tomorrow for a positive build up to the scouser massacre part I!!!

Morning all, this will be my first post although I have been reading the posts for a few weeks now – by far the best site out there and most see the game as it really is.

    Anyways my thoughts are:

If we play Liverpool the way we did in the first hour against Bolton then we can kiss the CL goodbye!! Great comeback but we were lucky not to be 3 down before we scored – those of you who were at the game will know what I’m talking about. If can score twice against us then just imagine what a fucking field day Torres is going to have – why didn’t Mr W splash the cash and buy him; an Arsenal player in a scouser shirt!!

Thanks Diaby; I’m sure the rest of the team really appreciate playing a hard physical game with 10 men for 60 minutes+ a few days before the Scouse trilogy, yeah we really needed that. I hope the comeback has drawn the team closer together and given them back some belief because when you take off the rose-tinted glasses the reality of recent weeks is that we have been a very poor team; very tired team. Cheque-book time Mr W; we need some quality experienced players in; pure and simple as that.

    Come on you REDSSSS!!!!!

tell me how many teams would have come back from 2 down with 10 men with 30 mins to go on a soggy pitch against a physical team? now tell me you’re not proud of Arsenal.
even the greatest of champions will have to win games in a scrappy manner. they will always win plenty of games they dont deserve and come back from unlikely situations. OK so are a few points off the top but Arsenal ARE like a team of champions. sadly the squad is probably 1 or 2 players short of being a truly a team of champions, which is a shame because I beleive it was there for us to win this season.

You’re so right guys, 2 down, 10 men, shit pitch, bad weather and 30 minutes to go, to me that takes more nuts than beating Milan.

Take the Spirit of Bolton through ’till the end of the season boys and we’ll win something, that’s for sure!

    Proud to be a Gooner.

Welcome aboard ScubaGooner, sorry it was delayed, I’ve been away, you’re on now and won’t have trouble getting back again.

Hello all gooners, great weekend this week. comeback of the season. Sky Sports this morning said that Ronaldo’s back heal yesterday was the best ever scored in the premiership. Are they forgeting the legendary thierry job at charlton?

Even though I hate them, Zola’s for the chavs was better than that shit yesterday.

  12. Big Raddy

One cannot argue with Ronaldo’s genius, but yesterday’s backheel was nowhere near as good as Zola’s/TH14′s/Kanu etc etc

  13. Phil D'Ainsworth (gas lamp lighter int' north)

Lads, calm down. Please take into account that we (Bolton) have been utterly dire all season, and in fact recently lost to Wigan who had ten men for 85 minutes!
Nevertheless, hope you do well in your remaining games and who knows….we may meet again in a couple of seasons when Sam is back at the helm to resume hostilities on a more even keel.
Incidentally, regarding the overly physical approach; it was ,after all, Diaby who committed the worst tackle of the day and if you can cast your minds back two seasons, he also broke Campo’s foot in a cup game at the Reebok, with a very similar challenge.

  14. RvP Fan

It was pretty cool how ronaldo could pick a gap like that… But does anyone remember RvP against Charlton? that volley? i doubt ronaldo could replicate that…

it was a wonderful feeling witnessing that come back,my mates went on at half time that our season was buried coz of the result that would shatter our confidence agaisnt the scousers..i on the oher hand was optimistic we would make a proper go at it…coz i half believed it and also coz their down heartedness was getiing on my nerves…..

the changes for once were right and at the right time, bring on Wednesday we have to believe we can do them..the boys have to play their game and be a bit more clinical we need to have a good advantage for when we go to anfield and a cleansheet will be gorgeous.

    We Gunner Gunn Em…

it was a great game, a great escape by arsenal. 2 nil down and with only 10 players I thought we had lots the game. it was quite an exciting game. theo should play more often. eboue is just not good enough. maybe 2 seasons ago, he used to run to the byline the whole game from right back position, not anymore. He doesn’t pass to sagna when he makes the effort of running from arsenal half to the byline. eboue should be sold.

gallas is not a leader, toure should have gotten the captain’s armband. He is more of a leader than gallas is from what I saw in the previous games when we dropped two points cos of clichy’s mistake.

lehmann should go too, he just causes too much problems. our squad is too small to complete in all the competitions. Arsene made a huge mistake not to buy more quality players.

I think we are out of the title race. we got four very very difficult games coming up and I don’t think the squad is big enough. I like arsene’s policy of developing young players but at the same time we need some experience in the field, a true leader who leads by example.

I hope we beat liverpool in the CL. don’t think we can win the title. mancs wont drop that many points and the chavs wont too. :(

WE NEED TO BUY SOME PLAYERS in the summer. if flamini goes, and it looks like gilberto will go, we don’t have a defensive midfielder anymore. WTF!!!!!
instead of adding to the squad we look like loosing a couple of good players.
