Sorry to end the week on a downer but to coin the words of a former Arsenal player, listening to Talk Shite last night, I almost ran my Aston off the road.
Coming back from visiting my very sick dad in his nursing home, I was a bit fragile, but when I turned on the wireless and listened to Muppet Adrian Durham asking Ian Wright if Arsenal fans would feel prouder if the team that won in Milan had more English players I was aghast.
I know this is heresy Grovers, after all it’s Wrighty, but read on please, no one is bigger than Arsenal football club.

You may not have noticed on Tuesday, but Theo was playing for us! We would all like to see some English talent, but Chelsea and ManU bought it all, Chelsea are bankrolled with dodgy ‘foreign’ money and ManU are £850 million in debt.
I watched your entire career from a box, so contributed to your wages, I can remember you playing under 2 English managers in George Graham (British) and Bruce Rioch, I won’t count the caretakers, how exciting was that? David Hillier, Eddy McGoldrick, Ian Selley, hey I could go on but I’m already falling asleep.
Since Wenger has been here and brought in young foreign talent, I have never enjoyed my football so much, and I, like Wenger, don’t see a passport, I see an Arsenal player.

i get this strange (but good) feeling that the league will be decided in the last day of the season, and it will be a goal-difference affair (like in 1988/1989). At the moment it doesn’t look that good if you compare Arsenal’s goal-difference with United’s but i think we can gain it along the way…
But then we must score plenty against teams like Wigan, Sunderland, Reading, Middlesbrough, Bolton & Derby! And that is where I think Robin van Persie will make his contribution! I will put my neck out and say (if he stays fit) that he will score some 7-8 goals for us against those teams!
If my calculation is correct I believe Arsenal will lose against Man United (away) and draw against Chelsea (away) and win the rest! That meens dropping 5 points and ending up with 90 points!

if you had to have an all english 11, even the best 11 you pick could not win the premier league. lucky to finish 6th i think. you simply have to have foreigners these days. I cant think of single decent creative english player who could pass and move like wenger requires. yes defenders are OK and maybe Rooney but no one else. thats why you need at least 5 foreigners in every team. even chelsea and man u know that.

Talkshit has been off the radio in my car and house for months now as as that is a totaly anti Arsenal station, it’s about time Arsenal fans wrote to the owners of the station and demanded that they change there anti Arsenal stance and also ask Arsenal football club why they tolerate this kind of abuse from certain arse wipe media outlets like the Mail and Talk shit.
No Arsenal fan should ever phone up that station or read the mail, we have over 60,000 fans in the stadium every other week we should make sure that everyone of them knows not to buy certain papers or listens to talkshit, we have the power it’s about time we started to use it.

I’ve no problem with the fact that Ian Wright was a great player for our club, but that should not be an excuse for him to show disloyalty for the club who made him who he is today.
