Good afternoon Grovers!
What a boring day its been! Its almost like yesterday didn’t happen? I think everyone accepted yesterday was a nailed on win, so theres not much buzz around the websites with regards to the result.
I thought I’d round up some of this afternoons snippets for you!
Firstly, Arsenal look set to sign Gillingham whizz kid Luke Freeman. Gills boss Mark Stimson had this to say,
‘If my 15-year-old son had the chance to go to Arsenal, even as a Tottenham fan, you couldn’t turn it down.’
Seems pretty certain he is talking to us then! Read more about him here and read the full article here.
Rumours have also resurfaced this afternoon with regards to Jens Lehmann’s future. The Evening Standard reckon he could be loaned out to City for the reamainder of the season, and if some of Wenger’s quotes are to be taken a face value you would have to think a move was on the cards.
Young Bulgarian Dimitrov has been offered a trial with Arsenal, he had this to say to 7 Dni Sport (My favourite Bulgarian Sports station may I add!),
‘Arsenal are a great team, I admire the way they play but I did not even dream to be invited by them.’
The attacker made his professional debut for Levski aged 16 and has scored nine goals in 32 games since then, impressive…
The final bit of gossip is a bit of an anti climax if you thought Eduardo’s buddy Modric was joining us this transfer window. Sadly he had this to say yesterday,
‘I’ve read in papers that Chelsea would sign me and then loan me to Dutch side PSV. That’s nonsense.’
‘I do not know anything about that. But the transfer period is a long one and we will see. My wish was always to move to Spain. I’d like to leave this winter.’
I didn’t like the look of you anyway… and your mates not playing that well anyway!
Lastly, RV to the P has confirmed himself fit for the Super Sunday clash with Chavski United!
“I am fit if the boss picks me - but not 100 percent. I can easily make 60-65 minutes, but after two months out you cannot make 90 minutes.”
Hooray for Robin!
Have a nice evening and make sure you check out Jens Vs Almunia tomorrow!

I’m glad Modric doesn’t want to come, especially if he turns out like the last Croat we bought.
I am getting a little fed up with all the youngsters we keep buying though. Vela looks interesting but we won’t see him this season.
I wish we’d buy Kaka.

I think we definitely need a natural left-sided midfield player, from the little I’ve seen this kid’s got pace, technique and the ability to take on defenders which is exactly what we need right now.

Modriiiiichy???who??we dont need you go to spain and rot,but if you change your mind please come and boost our squad otherwise f**k off!!!!
when did we actually ever speculate bout signing some-one then we actually did sign him???um jus so tired bout it and um worried Berto didnt play las nite he might play him come ‘Chavski mutilating day’,dont want Berto to play please dont play Berto.
i was hoping we would have done a bit more maybe um jus being bit too greedy but DAMN,i dont see how being on the backfoot, at home, against Steua Bucharest for nearly the whole of the second half, should give us confidence??..NO WAY!!!the only highlight was Van P returning period

Exactly, who the hell is Modric anyway? Is great being technically gifted, who was the last player who was technically gifted and a winger? Oh yeah! Reyes!
We do need a winger though, we are really struggling when we have to play diaby and eboue out there! Theo looked good though didnt he! I am sure he could play on hte left or right!
The last time we signed a player we were all expecting was Sagna, that one was going on for ages! Also, Theo Walcott was common knowledge.
Transfer speculation is fun, but its a bit boring if you’re a gooner. There is never a Kaka or Etoo mentioned, such a shame our club has ethics! I’d like us to chase down messi, theres a player.

Yeah, Messi, if only! I’d break the bank for him that’s for sure.

This Sunday is going to be pretty immense football wise, can’t wait. I’m predicting a draw between the Northern gits and a 3-2 win for us against Chavski FC as you named them, very good, I’ll be stealing that :p

Like Eduardo is one of the best strikers in the world?
Tsabo, are you a member of the backroom staff for the Croatia National team?
December 15, 2007 at 1:43 am
Pedro if u r from England dont even talk about Croatia because everybody in the world saw which one is better team!!!!!!!! Maybe u think like Owen that there isnt player from Croatia who could play for England??? I watched Luka in more than 100 games and belive me midfield with Cesc, Hleb, Rosicky and Luka would have possession of the ball 70% in every game
